  1. Stretching, Camox enters the square. Rumours of war have reaches his ears, rumours of death of many Jianghese... And Valmasia becoming stronger. Soon Gehenna will be drawn into this war even further; the Valmasian blight will become unstoppable. If only people would listen to the Seers warnings...
  2.
  3. Camox eyes the head of an Agarthan atop the temple, frowning. He quickly turns his gaze to Hadwin and nods. "Ah... Hadwin. Let's have a look at your staff, hmm?"
  4. (Camox)
  5.
  6. By the stairwell that leads to the apex of the temple stands quite a flamboyant and familiar figure. Silver stands of hair adorn his head as it twists along with his head, jerking to the direction of the dryad. An immediate smile is met as his blue irises meets with Camox’s. Wielding that staff in question, Hadwin steps forward as he approaches Camox, closing the gap as to make the audio of their conversation much more attuned to the two.
  7.
  8. “Aha, greetings friend! Yes, yes, we should.” He would say as he shifts the staff forward to let the dryad have a better view of it. Sure enough, the bird stood perched on the top. Its eyes shift to Camox as it seems much less curious and more interested by the sight of the dryad. “Shall we head to a private place? Inside the temple maybe?”
  9. (Hadwin Astrapia)
  10.
  11. Camox says, "Mhm."
  12.
  13.
  14. [The two enters the Cruxati's Temple. They sit on a small table by the upper quarters of the place.]
  15.
  16.
  17. Camox asks, "Who gave you this staff?"
  18.
  19. Hadwin Astrapia says, "My father. He gave it as a gift."
  20.
  21. Camox asks, "Hmm.. Has it been passed down the generation?"
  22.
  23. Hadwin Astrapia says, "I believe so. He said its a family heirloom."
  24.
  25. Camox says, "Interesting... Let me have a look."
  26.
  27. Camox holds his hand out.
  28. (Camox)
  29.
  30. "Sure." As asked for, Hadwin would pull the staff to the tabletop as he is quick to hand it over. With the staff shifting, the bird is put in the limelight as it holds its ground despite the frequent movements of the staff. The wooden stick is left to sit on the table, allowing Camox to have a look at both the staff and the bird.
  31. (Hadwin Astrapia)
  32.
  33. Camox eyes the staff curiously. He could feel the power emitting from it. He shushes Hadwin. "For this, I must focus. I will commune with the spirit now." The Dryad closes his eyes, touching the bird on the staff gently, with the tip of his fingers. Chanting some old but not forgotten Tocathian words, Camox begins to breath slowly. In and out. In and out... In and out. Until he enters his state of trance.
  34.
  35. The connection was made. Suddenly Camox was in a desert. A long, endless desert in the depth of night. The skies were clear, every single star visible. Camox was alone. It was quite warm. How did he get here? Was he dreaming? Suddenly, a loud noise. Camox turns his gaze southwards, and spots a giant sandstorm. No place to hide... The Seer panicks, looking around him for shelter, there is none. His faith is sealed then. He must embrace the storm.
  36.
  37. The storm now rapidly closes in on Camox, he closes his eyes. He is ready. Then suddenly; silence. And the sound of a bird chirping. Was Camox dead then? Was he in the spirit realm finally? It can't be... Opening his eyes there is a man. A magi. Camox senses his power. Dressed in tribal garments the man smiles at Camox. Now, the Dryad remembered why he was here. He was indeed in the spirit realm, to commune with a spirit in a staff. No words exchanged, only silence, as the man places a hand on the Dryads shoulder.
  38.
  39. A vision. Camox knew now... The spirits past life flashed before Camox eyes rapidly. So much knowledge... But so much pain aswel. Yes, this man lost everything. He died protecting his family, only his child remained. Now to explain the connection to Hadwin...
  40. (Camox)
  41.
  42. Camox opens his eyes, a stern look on his face. He felt the pain... The grief. The determination. He lets go off the staff, nodding at Hadwin.
  43. (Camox)
  44.
  45. Camox asks, "This is a strong spirit indeed, friend... Are you sure you want to know why it is bound to this staff?"
  46.
  47. Watching the dryad intently as he would begin to connect with the spirit within Terrus, Hadwin would remain silent as per Camox’s orders. Crossing his arms, he slowly allows them to rest on the table as he leans forward. His eyes constantly darting from the staff and the dryad.
  48.
  49. The table faintly shakes. He could feel it below his arms. Furrowing his brow, he would look around the room. The anticipation was killing him. The dryad himself seems to be in some intense mental thoughts or something Hadwin can see his hands shake and tremble a few times. Along with that, the bird stood still. It was like a statue, staring at Camox. It didn’t blink, nor did it breathe. It just stood there. Was it doing something to him? Hopefully Terrus is being nice.
  50.
  51. Nervously tapping the side of his arm, Hadwin’s eyebrows would perk up as the dryad’s eyes flips open. A relieved sigh has him as the bird would return to life as well, cawing and flapping its wings as if it has just woken up from a bad dream. “So. . . How was it?” Asking Camox with a concerned yet relieved demeanor. “Anything?”
  52. (Hadwin Astrapia)
  53.
  54. Hadwin looks at the dryad curiously as Camox says the latter part of his dialoug. "Huh, why. Did you see something bad?"
  55. (Hadwin Astrapia)
  56.
  57. Camox says, "Perhaps there are some things you do not want to know, friend."
  58.
  59. Camox says, "Take care of this staff, do not lose it."
  60.
  61. Camox says, "Pass it down to your children."
  62.
  63.
  64. Camox says, "That is important..."
  65.
  66. Camox says, "Use it to protect those you care about."
  67.
  68. Hadwin Astrapia asks, "No, please. I must know. How bad is it?"
  69.
  70. Camox sighs, folding his hands.
  71. (Camox)
  72.
  73. Camox says, "The spirit is that of a man related to you, a man who died long ago."
  74.
  75. Camox says, "He died protecting his family, only his child survived."
  76.
  77.
  78. Camox says, "One of them... The other is gone."
  79.
  80. Hadwin Astrapia says, "H- I-I see..."
  81.
  82. Camox says, "Because he failed to protect his family, his spirit attached itself to the staff of his only surviving son."
  83.
  84. Camox says, "To grant him strength and protect him and his offspring eternally."
  85.
  86. Camox says, "I saw everything... There is a lot of pain. Why he choose the form of a bird? I do not know. Perhaps because he was a wind magi."
  87.
  88. Slowly he takes the staff once more. Tilting his head, he looks on to the bird as it looks back at him. The two stare for seconds in silence. It quickly caws as its feet quickly envelops in sand, setting it free from the staff as it launches itself in the air. Circling the enclosed space of the temple, it quickly lands right by Hadwin’s shoulder. It seems like it has taken a liking for his right shoulder. “Huh, thanks dad.” He would think out loud. It was a good gift after all.
  89.
  90. Finally he turns back to Camox. “I might send a letter home for my father. But thank you.” He nods to Camox. “Thank you for this.”
  91. (Hadwin Astrapia)
  92.
  93. Camox says, "You're welcome, friend."
  94.
  95. Camox says, "I don't do this often."
  96.
  97. Camox says, "I felt his emotions... I saw his past."
  98.
  99. Camox says, "I saw everything."
