  1. Group Three
  2. Chapter 3
  3. Group Project
  4.
  5. The wind whistle and whipped through the trees, long shadows were cast across the purple moor. Inside the castle candlelight flickered over the great stone walls, as a “click-click” echoed through the parlor when the miracle man came down the great stairway from the kings chambers.
  6. “the king is dying”, the miracle man stated plainly to prince humped and queen Bella. Creases stretched across the queen forlorn face as she stared off into the night though the great glass window.
  7. Humperdinck sighed and paced uneasily as he waited for his evil stepmother to speak. He knew what she was going to say even before she spoke.
  8. “its time for you to get married. “ the queen spoke through her teeth. “I will make the arrangements for you to meet with Noreen, okay? She’ll be a good match/”
  9. I will not marry one who I do not love, much less a women I do not know.” the prince argued defiantly.
  10. “It is your duty as the prince to find a women who will give us a heir to the throne!” replied the Queen.
  11. “If it wasn’t for my father dying I would never consider marrying a women without love, but if it would cause our kingdom peril I must.”
  12. “Good then its settled. Tomorrow you will meet with her.”
  13. “Fine, its settled.“ he growled & stormed off out the front door to go hunting late into the night.
  14. Humperdinck who was still frustrated from last night’s conversation with the queen set forth on a morning ride through the kingdoms forest. It was still very early and the sun had not yet came up. Blue light reflected off everything making the forest very eerie. He pushed the great white horse to a gallop & the trees turned into a hour. It was a good half hour when he stopped in a grassy meadow. The horse sides heaved beneath him & its breath came out in big white puffs as he dismounted. He led the tired horse to a Douglas fir and looped the reigns on a thick branch. Form his riding bag he produced a small sack of grain. Once the horse stopped breathing hard he began to feed him handfuls.
  15. He watched as the sun began to rise over the hills. Great beams of light stretch over the horizon like a beacon from a light house. He marveled as the colors in the sky became more vivid. Deep scarlet, rosy pinks and lush oranges painted the once dark sky. As he watched, he noticed a shadow rising from the bottom of the light. At first he did not recognize the shadow and not taking any chances he reach for his long silver blade.
  16. He continued to watch from beneath the trees not making a single movement. Just then the shadow reached the sunlight. Light reflected off a cascade of blonde hair, and the sleek black horse appeared silver in the wary sunlight. Like and angel, the woman on the horse appeared to float down the hill towards him.
  17. As she got closer he hid his sword, not wanting to frighten the beautiful angel. She wore a baby blue dress that clung to her supple body, making him speechless. Her cheeks were rosy red in contrast to her porcelain skin. Her eyes were almond shape and she had long eyelashes that when she blinked at him look like a very content feline. Her lips looked like two soft plump rose buds. When she spoke it was like soft wind chimes easily putting him in a trance. “good morning sir. Are you enjoying your morning ride?” she sang to him.
  18. His inside were doing cartwheels and he could feel his heart beating in his throat. He managed a “mmmmmmhmmmmm….” she looked at him oddly. “I try to come here every morning. The sunrise is beautiful, “ she sang to him once again, not realizing who he was. He managed a simple “yes.” but couldn’t find anything else to say to her.
  19. She cocked her head to one side studying him a little and once again she spoke “ have a good day, Sir. I bid you farewell.” then she nudged her horse forward and disappeared into the mist .
  20. Humperdinck stared into the mist where she disappeared. He felt confused, and this frustrated him. He untied the reigns from the tree, then mounted the houre and pointed into the opposite direction of the lovely maiden. He hoped not to encounter her anytime soon until he could figure out how to speak to her. He followed the trail back to the castle to prepare for the evening.
  21. The night came quickly and soon the prince heard a knock on his chamber door. Queen Bella then entered.
  22. “It is time for dinner, and Noreena is here. Are you ready?” the queen asked impatiently.
  23. “Ill be there in a moment.” he replied.
  24. As he went down the long staircase, he could hear the clanking of goblets and chattering from the dining hall. Good evening everyone he stated when he entered the room, Noreena and her family greeted him with kindness. Humperdink then took his seat at the furthest end of the table across from Noreena, Dinner went smoothly as much as could be expected, but socializing for Humperdinck was not his cup of tea. As soon as the last plate was picked up off the table Humperdinck thanked the Noreena and her family for joing them, he then stood and briskly excused himself and walked out the dining room heading for his zoo.
  25. As he walked towards the zoo he contemplated on which animals he would slaughter or hunt that evening. Would he choose something fast to keep his mind off of the beautiful maiden, or something slow to ease his tension. Humperdinck decided on both and then some because he desired to be satisfied, but even after killing 10, 20 maybe even 30 animals he was not.
  26. Weeks later still unsatisfied with both hunting and Noreena, he decided to see if he could see the beautiful maiden again. He awoke extra early that morning in order to meet her at the same spot as before. As he rode the horse quickly down the trails, in his mind he rehearsed what he would say to her, if they were to meet again. Soon after Humperdinck arrived on the hill, there she was even more beautiful than the first time she left.
  27. The beautiful maiden then approached Humperdinck, there eyes locked and hearts stopped as they stared into each others soul. Humperdinck then said, I’ve been waiting for you a long time. Confused the maiden looked him and said have we met before.? As she giggled. And again what was your name kind sir she said smiling at him. My name is Prinve Humperdinck and yours. My name is buttercup. They talked what seemed to be for hours while riding their horses, they spoke not of money or monetary things but of life, its slenders and their desires. Mesmerized by this beauitful woman, they began to fall in love, a feeling that Humperdinck had yet to feel..
