Doppler Introduction

HabeusKaiju is playing.....ummm....Oregon Trail in his office

Doppler knock knock knocks on his door
<HabeusKaiju>: Oh, come in!
HabeusKaiju writes the epitaph on his grave, failing once again to make it to Oregon
<Doppler>: "Alright" a voice replies. Doppler opens the door, peeking his head in first. First thing you notice is his eyes, they have a strange technological aspect to them, almost a glow. There are blueish veins just barely visible under his skin in a circuitboard pattern.
Doppler steps all the way in with an ease. He looks incredibly chilled out, looking with a focus as if there are things you aren't seeing. He seems to know he has to take a seat, so he does
<Doppler>: "Hey Mister... Toyota?"

<HabeusKaiju>: Honda, Theo Honda, Monster at Law
HabeusKaiju extends a hand
<HabeusKaiju>: and you are?
<Doppler>: [gimme a sec, need to make the looooooooong name]
<Doppler>: [orbital name strike inbound]
HabeusKaiju prepares to write this name down for John]
<Doppler>: "Antonio Rodrigo de Foc desde Barcelona y Manila Santiago Benezio Rey y Cipriano"
Doppler shakes his hand
<HabeusKaiju>: .....
<HabeusKaiju>: May I call you Antonio?
<Doppler>: "Sure"
<HabeusKaiju>: So, what's up, Antonio, you new here?
Doppler sits back with a smile. He loves that reaction every time.
<Doppler>: "I'm actually here to see if I could... go to school here maybe?"
<Doppler>: "After the rescue a year ago I've sorta been thinking about it"
<HabeusKaiju>: ...
<HabeusKaiju>: Rescue?
<HabeusKaiju>: We rescued you?
<HabeusKaiju>: From where?
HabeusKaiju ponders over the numerous rescues they did last year
<Doppler>: "Yeah you know... the program? Philippines? You were a giant monster"
<Doppler>: "Cyborgs?"
<HabeusKaiju>: Please, I prefer the term, Humanly challenged
HabeusKaiju smirks
<HabeusKaiju>: Now let's see...cyborgs, cyborgs.....
<HabeusKaiju>: OH
<HabeusKaiju>: OOOOOOH
<HabeusKaiju>: I remember that!
Doppler really hopes hab remembers him
<HabeusKaiju>: the brotherhood place, right?
<HabeusKaiju>: with the thing, and the trees, and the robots, and you!
<HabeusKaiju>: I remember now!
<HabeusKaiju>: How have ya been?
<Doppler>: "I've been staying with my family, helping out around the house with my, uh, enhancements. Worked a few jobs, got into music. Now that I am more visibly changed it sorta got... rough back at school"
HabeusKaiju nods
<Doppler>: "Then my uncle suggested that I come here, might be on the other side of the planet but 'you know the language and you're one of them witchcraft techy types! you'll fit in fine'"
<HabeusKaiju>: So you came here all the way from the Philippines?
<Doppler>: "it was a long flight..." he says with a yawn
<HabeusKaiju>: I would think so!
<HabeusKaiju>: So, I don't mean to be rude....but what can you do again?
<Doppler>: "Its been nice here though. A bit... cold for my tastes" you notice he is wearing a rather heavy jacket now
<Doppler>: "Oh... uhhh how do I explain it"
Doppler pulls over his bag, opens it, and takes out a flute
<Doppler>: "Ah-ha!"
Doppler plays a little tune on the flute. It starts off normal, but as time goes on it starts to distort in a few ways. Suddenly sounds more like a saxophone than a flute, then the sound of it seems to spin around your head, only coming to one ear at a time. He's manipulating the sound.
<HabeusKaiju>: Oh neato!
Doppler continues playing, then it begins sounding like a bird call, then a car, then a piano
Doppler finally stops
<Doppler>: "So yeah, I control sound about as well as I can see it"
Doppler says this casually as if its a no brainer
<HabeusKaiju>: See it?
<HabeusKaiju>: What does sound look like to you?
<Doppler>: "You know I-.... oh yeah you don't. Uhhhh" he thinks for a second, a bit awkward
<Doppler>: "I can see soundwaves."
<Doppler>: "I can hear them as well as visualize them. Where they come from, what kind of sound, if its language what are they saying. No matter the volume"
<HabeusKaiju>: Hmmm
<Doppler>: "Used to only be able to do barely the controlling or seeing, but then the program upgraded me"
<HabeusKaiju>: do they have shapes, or are they words?
<Doppler>: "Its.... hard to explain to someone who doesn't see it"
<Doppler>: "Its sort of both... kind of"
<HabeusKaiju>: Well....
<HabeusKaiju>: how bout this
HabeusKaiju pulls out a notepad, and pen
<HabeusKaiju>: can you draw it?
<Doppler>: "I'll give it a whirl"
Doppler takes the notepad and pen
<Doppler>: "Just give me a sound"
<HabeusKaiju>: Ooooh, let me try this
HabeusKaiju clear his throat
<HabeusKaiju>: ya ready?
Doppler nods
<HabeusKaiju>: SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK
Doppler immediately starts drawing... then stops
<Doppler>: ....do you have different colored ones?"
<Doppler>: "I need a lot of em"
<HabeusKaiju>: I got blue, black, and macaroni and cheese
HabeusKaiju pulls out his box of multicoloured markers
<Skyler>: >Doppler can see when people say their names in title font]
<Doppler>: "....okaaaay I'll take what I can get."
Doppler takes the markers and goes back to work
<Doppler>: [back]
<HabeusKaiju>: wb]
Doppler eventually finishes. He hands back the notepad. On it is... you can't really describe this. It looks as if a mist or a puff of smoke, curved in many directions but primarily in a wave. You can see images of many things, only a few you can comprehend. You see your own face, as well as what seems to be a volume indicator, and the room
<Doppler>: There's symbols and shapes you cannot really describe. Its trippy, to be sure
<Doppler>: its all colorful as well, with a strange erratic rhyme to it
<HabeusKaiju>: Hmmm
<HabeusKaiju>: NEat!
<HabeusKaiju>: So you could see this after the experiments?
<Doppler>: "Thats.... really the best I could do. Its still just scratching the surface of what a sound looks like to me"
<Doppler>: "And yeah. I could always see ripples, but they made me see the sounds themselves"
Doppler blinks his cybernetic looking eyes
<Doppler>: "Also, uhhh..." he pulls up his sleeve
<HabeusKaiju>: Did it hurt?
<Doppler>: On his arm you see... stitches on his wrist and on his forearm seem to be the circuit veins and two "holes".
<Doppler>: you can see ripples in the air just right above them
HabeusKaiju stares at them for a bit, and then snaps back
<Doppler>: "It didn't hurt, I was put under a lot of anesthesia"
<Doppler>: "Ached for a while though"
<Doppler>: "There's also a weird... airy feeling that comes with it. A bit of a hollowness that was created in order to set up the sound system."
<Doppler>: "Its alright though"
<HabeusKaiju>: Hmmm
<HabeusKaiju>: I gotcha
<Doppler>: "I'm fine, just can't see a normal doc anymore as they have no clue what I am"
Doppler shrugs
<HabeusKaiju>: I am sorry it happened to you
HabeusKaiju puts a hand on his shoulder
<Doppler>: "Hey, what happened happened. I'm alive, I have new abilities, and I've used them to help my family after you rescued me"
<Doppler>: "Things turn out well in the end"
<HabeusKaiju>: Well, that is good then
Doppler says with a happy mellowness
<HabeusKaiju>: Glad you remained so chipper!
<Doppler>: "Its best that I just go ahead with what life throws at me, ya know?"
<HabeusKaiju>: Yea, good on yea
<HabeusKaiju>: So, you here to come to school right?
<Doppler>: "I can't get stuck in the past. I can be happy now and do some good work"
<HabeusKaiju>: S-men, or non S-men?
<Doppler>: "I came to see around the place, get my bearings, see the classes. I know I owe you guys a lot, but I still have to figure out if I'm going to learn what I need to here"
<Doppler>: "If I can, I might join the program. You scratch my back I scratch yours, ya know?"
Doppler scratches the little stitchmark on his cheek
<HabeusKaiju>: Well, we aren't forcing you
<HabeusKaiju>: the program is quite dangerous, and I wouldn't want to you go into it not knowing what's what, so...
HabeusKaiju opens his drawer, and searchers through the pamphlets
<Doppler>: "Yeah I know, I probably should test the waters before making a decision like that"
HabeusKaiju pulls out a pamphlet entitled "S-men: Why, man?"
<HabeusKaiju>: Here, give it a look over
<Doppler>: "Aaaaalright" he takes the pamphlet
<Doppler>: "...so what services do you fellas offer for power control and training? what about academics?"
<Doppler>: "Can't shirk my learning because I can shoot lightning out of my butt and grow toenails 8 miles" he laughs
<HabeusKaiju>: Oh, we offer classes, after school programs, clubs, and sports teams
<Doppler>: "Sounds nice"
<HabeusKaiju>: Yep, I for one, rock at gymnastics
<Doppler>: "How're the teachers around here. Don't worry, the other teachers won't catch wind of it" he looks around shifty eyed with a mischievous smirk, probably stopping the sound from leaving the room
<HabeusKaiju>: Oh, I think they are all pretty swell
<HabeusKaiju>: I mean, sure, some maaaaaaaaaaay not have the tact and maturity as me, but they do good
<Doppler>: "Anybody I should look out for when choosing classes?"
<HabeusKaiju>: to avoid, or to look for?
HabeusKaiju just realized
<HabeusKaiju>: Garnier
<HabeusKaiju>: Avoid Garnier
<HabeusKaiju>: for the love of god
<HabeusKaiju>: Avoid him
<Doppler>: "Alright, will do"
Doppler sits back in his seat
<Doppler>: "So, anything else you want to know?"
<HabeusKaiju>: Hmmm, welll
<HabeusKaiju>: What are your interest?
<Doppler>: "Well, I am big into the music scene, it sort of has a new meaning to me now that I can /see/ it. I'm pretty computer savvy, more than I'd like to admit. That's about it as I don't think surfing really applies much up here in the cold north."
<Doppler>: "Do you... have summers here?"

<HabeusKaiju>: We totally have summer here, man
<Doppler>: "Phew, I was worried for a second there"
<HabeusKaiju>: So you like surfing?
<HabeusKaiju>: that's cool
<Doppler>: "Yeah, my dad was a big surfer and taught me a bunch growing up."
<Doppler>: "Any places nearby I could go to?"
<HabeusKaiju>: Well, I do live near a beach
<HabeusKaiju>: It can get pretty loud
<HabeusKaiju>: So, that means big waves, right?
<Doppler>: "aaaaaaah I see what you did there" he smirks
Doppler is going to remember that one
HabeusKaiju mock smirks, mildly confused as to what he said
<Doppler>: "...you know... waves? Loud? Soundwaves?"
<Doppler>: "ehh?"
<HabeusKaiju>: ...
Doppler is too funny for this earth
<HabeusKaiju>: Oooooooooooooh
<Doppler>: "Ha, see? I got it before you did"
Doppler chuckles to himself a bit. He's terrible.
<HabeusKaiju>: Nuh uh! I was testing you!
<Doppler>: "Riiiiiight"
Doppler gives a fake nod as he says it
<HabeusKaiju>: anyways, how bout I pop you in a room, okay?
<Doppler>: "Sure, I was going to bring that up. Need a place to stay during my tour and if I decide to stay"
<HabeusKaiju>: Well, i just popped a fellow musician into a room, that sound good?
<Doppler>: "ooooh, I like the sound of that. Was worried I'd bother somebody with the late night jam urges you get, ya know?"
<Doppler>: "Speaking of which, quickly off topic, is there a band program here?"
<HabeusKaiju>: I could look into it, sound good?
<Doppler>: "Yeah"
<HabeusKaiju>: You got your bags?
<Doppler>: "Yeah, I left em outside the office"
<HabeusKaiju>: Good, good
<HabeusKaiju>: anything else ya wanna chat bout?
<Doppler>: "Anything else you want to know?"
<HabeusKaiju>: Hmmm, I don't think so...if I think of anything, I'll buzz for ya, kay?
<Doppler>: "Sounds fair, Mr Volkswagen"
<HabeusKaiju>: ...
Doppler smiles brightly
<HabeusKaiju>: I already got one kid mispronouncing my name, I don't need another
HabeusKaiju gives Doppler the evil eye
Doppler only knew beforehand that Theo's last name was some car company, is just guessing them until he gets it right
<Doppler>: "What? What I do?"
<HabeusKaiju>: It's honda, you know that
Doppler grins innocently
<Doppler>: "Oookay"
<Doppler>: "Just listen up a bit, eh?"
<HabeusKaiju>: I will, I will
<HabeusKaiju>: Seeya later, Antonio
<Doppler>: "Alright, seeeeeya" he gets up, picking up his stuff to go find his dorm
