  1. >Equestria, Ponyville, Doctor's clocktower.
  2. >Day 18, 5:49 am.
  3. >God you're glad that you have this huge clock right behind you.
  4.
  5. >So, Doctor is a time traveller.
  6. >Not a new concept to you, since you already travelled through dimensions, but you know…
  7. >You expected a time traveller to look a bit different.
  8.
  9. >He ended up in Equestria since his time thing broke, and he got involved in some drama.
  10. >It concluded with a pony dying due to being eaten by a manticore.
  11. >Good thing nobody saw that except him.
  12. >Doc realised that the pony was someone important to the history of Equestria, some kind of "inventor", so he had to stand in for him so space-time wouldn't tear apart.
  13. >"Do you even know how hard it is to invent "new things" when you already know what they are?"
  14. >You kinda don't.
  15.
  16. >And well, Doc's not complaining about anything except that, he's living pretty well here, and slowly fixing his time thing.
  17.
  18. >But you though, you gotta move out.
  19. >Trixie has a show in Canterlot tonight.
  20.
  21. >TrixAnon Stories: Part 3.
  22.
  23. >You glance at the sleeping pony.
  24. >You took off her cape and hat and left it on the other armrest, so it doesn't boil her up through the night in this quite hot place.
  25. >Doc also had some things to do today, so he went to his room somewhere.
  26.
  27. >You'll let her sleep for a bit more, she hasn't had a good rest for a while.
  28.
  29. >Right.
  30. >What can you do meanwhile, though?
  31. >You’re pretty sure that Doc is also still sleeping.
  32. >You haven’t seen him come out of his room, though, so the conviction ends on being “pretty sure”.
  33. >Hm.
  34. >You gotta sort out your thoughts, anyway.
  35. >Let’s do that.
  36.
  37.
  38. >Just retrace back to what you were thinking about earlier.
  39. >…
  40. >Sorting your thoughts out?
  41. >No, a bit earlier than that.
  42.
  43. >Well, you made that portal.
  44. >You went through it.
  45. >It was pretty painful, you have to admit.
  46. >All your bones started hurting in one moment; snapping your nerves, rushing through your body, every cell was crushed and remade again in a different place.
  47. >You fell on the grass near the exhausted wormhole, happy, confused, and full of regret at the same time.
  48. >It was a dark and windy night; treetops dancing their captivating and gloomy dance, barely visible against the background of the brown, cloudy nautical twilight sky.
  49. >A strong breeze singing its song, which you never really paid attention to.
  50. >Every stick, every rough corner, every bush seemed like it was staring right into your soul, but turned their gaze away when you looked back.
  51.
  52. >All your rearranged cells were pleased by the wind cooling them off.
  53. >As were you.
  54. >Even though at first you were really confused.
  55. >Well, you knew the place somewhat.
  56. >You made the portal to here, after all.
  57. >But it was, like, different.
  58. >Somehow.
  59. >You could feel it; it wasn’t the land of magic and friendship that you expected.
  60. >Well, it was.
  61. >But…
  62. >Like.
  63. >Uh.
  64.
  65. >You felt you brain die a little from that.
  66. >You fell on the grass; the moisture helped you concentrate a little, somehow.
  67. >You never thought of Equestria being the same as your old world.
  68. >You’d mistake it for outskirts of your city, if not for the fresh air and clean clouds, making your body feel like a banana in a milkshake of molecules in the endless world of this Universe.
  69. >Well, it actually is.
  70. >But you never know.
  71. >There’s magic in this place, after all.
  72. >But you don’t know that yet.
  73.
  74. >It still could be just another place on Earth.
  75. >And you’re here, dressed like an idiot in your heavy-duty suit and a diary hanging off your belt.
  76. >But then…
  77.
  78. >You saw the lights.
  79. >The fireworks.
  80. >The fireworks, cheering, and the smell of magic coming from somewhere.
  81. >You never knew that magic could smell, but the nanosecond the report from your nose hit your brain cells, you immediately recognised it as magic.
  82.
  83. >You followed the smell, the cheering, and the fireworks.
  84. >You dragged your feet through the moist grass, your shoes feeling more like lead with every step.
  85. >What looked like a show ended by then; you’ve gone through maybe half a kilometer worth of forest.
  86. >You only stumbled upon a little wagon standing right on the edge.
  87. >A little blue-ish pony was packing something up in front of it.
  88. >You could still see the hat and cape on her, the little yellow cartoon stars shining like real ones in the dark, even with no light from real stars or the Moon, for that matter.
  89. >She’d probably be spooked pretty hard if you just sneaked up on her like that.
  90. >What to do…
  91.
  92. >You hear the blue pony’s voice through the sound of your mind.
  93. >”Anon!”
  94. >W-what?
  95. >Is she calling you?
  96. >How does she know your name?
  97. >”Anon! Wake up!”
  98. >You open your eyes.
  99.
  100. >”What? Ah!”
  101. >As you fully wake up from the dream, you see Trixie’s face right in front of you.
  102. >Staring right at you with her classic smirk.
  103. “Yeah, yeah, I’m alive. Get off of me.”
  104. >She silently jumps off and waits for you to get up as well.
  105. >You stretch your legs, arms and fingers.
  106. >”Trixie just noticed that you’re a really strange being, Anon.”
  107. >Good God, her third person thing is back.
  108. >Maybe she’s just preparing for the show.
  109. “This is my third week here, Trixie.”
  110. >”Well, you know, we haven’t seen each other much except for the first day and the shows.”
  111. >You indeed haven’t.
  112. >But…
  113. >Eh.
  114.
  115. “We gonna go or what?”
  116. >Trixie looks surprised by something for a moment, and then realises that something.
  117. >”I have a show in Canterlot tonight!”
  118. “Yes, you do. You didn’t forget about it, did you?”
  119. >”O-of course Trixie didn’t! Who do you take me for, Anon?”
  120. >Trixie, of course.
  121. >That was the point.
  122. “Anyway, we need to find some breakfast around here for a start, and then pack our non-existent stuff.”
  123.
  124. >Trixie chuckles nervously, then takes a deep breath, before wandering off in the opposite direction from the stairs down.
  125. >She probably wants to tell Doc something, or something.
  126. “I’ll… Uh.”
  127. >You raise your finger, trying to form a coherent sentence.
  128. “I’ll just wait outside.”
  129.
  130. >Stomp.
  131. >Stomp.
  132. >Stomp.
  133. >Your steps feel like an elephant mashing all your bones into a fine powder by dancing polka on your chest.
  134. >This little spiral ladder is shaking even more today, almost like it’s trying to fall over and crush you.
  135. >You never thought you could hear all the veins in your body pumping blood, warmth flowing through your arms, while your fingers are still cold.
  136. >Finally your boot touches the wooden floor.
  137. >Then you make your way to the door.
  138. >You turn the cold brass knob as fast as you can, but it still feels like an eternity.
  139. >Some sunlight shines through the expanding crack of the doorway, in which you slip in as soon as possible, and close the door after.
  140.
  141. >You turn yourself to the town.
  142. >Ponies walking about, talking, laughing, some fillies jumping around a tree in the distance.
  143. “Ugh.”
  144. >The sun shines right in your eyes.
  145. >Burning your retinas, the sun seems to be barely rising over the green horizon right now.
  146.
  147. >You go into the shade, and away from pony eyes.
  148. “I’ll just, uh, wait.”
  149.
  150. >A minute passes.
  151. >Two.
  152. >Five.
  153. >Have 17 days gone by?
  154. >You can’t really tell.
  155. >The huge clock is right above you, and you’re too lazy to move to see the face.
  156. >What to do.
  157. >What to do.
  158. >You’re gonna die of boredom if you continue just standing here.
  159. >The pony flow has seemingly stopped.
  160. >The street is as empty as empty streets can be.
  161. >Then an idea slaps you in the back of your head.
  162. >You couldn’t recall what happened in the first day, right?
  163. >Well, you have a diary dangling from your belt, why not look there.
  164. >Good idea, Anon.
  165. >Thanks, Anon.
  166. >You’re welcome, Anon.
  167. >What did you want to do, again?
  168. >Ah, yes, the diary.
  169. >You take it off the belt and unbuckle the little lock.
  170. >It was on the second page, right?
  171. >You open it right on the second page.
  172. “Middle of Nowhere, Equestria, Day 1.
  173. I couldn’t even imagine how easy it would be to build the portal. I’m already in Equestria, after fiddling around for just two days… Hooray, new life!
  174. Now I should find some place to stay at. It’s the middle of the night, by the looks; I don’t really know if the artificial Sun/Moon rotation changes how I should tell the time… Whatever. I think I see something past this little bush of a forest, I’ll continue when I have something other than grass to sleep on.”
  175. >You turn the page.
  176. “Same day.
  177. Um. I guess this pony got scared of me? All I heard was an “Eep!”, clopping of hooves, and the door of the little wagon being slammed. Well, this at least looks like a good place to rest for a bit while I wait.
  178. Also I need a plan, and this time is looking great exactly for making one. Even a little stump to sit on while I write.
  179. Alright.
  180. First, I need at least a temporary place to rest and find out more about Equestria and Equestrians. The only thing I know right now is that they have cities, emotions, and at least wheels.
  181. Second. Uh. I’m not sure…
  182. I guess… Wing it?
  183. Just like the rest of my life, ha.
  184. Hope it’ll be easier…”
  185. >You hear something right in front of you.
  186. >”ANON!”
  187. >Ouch.
  188. “Yes, Trixie?”
  189. >”Trixie’s been calling you for 15 minutes already!”
  190. >Oh.
  191. “Sorry, I guess I just zoned out somehow.”
  192. >”Hmph. I noticed.”
  193. >She talks quieter when she doesn’t refer to herself in third person.
  194. >Heh.
  195. >You close the diary and buckle it to the belt.
  196. “Alright, I’m ready.”
  197. >”Good. We can’t waste even more time today.”
  198.
  199. "Moving out?"
  200. >Trixie nods.
  201. >You two start walking at the same time, but in different directions.
  202. >You turn around and look at each other.
  203. >"Where do you think you're going?"
  204. "What? I thought I saw some place to get some food in this direction."
  205. >You point in the direction you wanted to go in.
  206. >Trixie loads her bit of dialogue for a moment.
  207. >Then she takes a deep breath.
  208. >"Alright, Anon."
  209.
  210. >Maybe she knows that place?
  211. >'Cause by the looks of things a bunch of ponies around here don't like Trixie for some reason.
  212. >Eh, you'll see.
  213.
  214. >...
  215.
  216. >At least now you're feeling better.
  217. >Kinda.
  218. >Maybe.
  219.
  220. >The Sun's back.
  221. >Shining at and burning the back of your head.
  222. >Well, uh…
  223. >At least you can see where you're going?
  224. >H-haha.
  225.
  226. >Speaking of where you're going.
  227. >You see a huge cupcake towering over the other buildings on the wide street.
  228.
  229. >But right now your growling stomach reminds you of the goal at hand.
  230. >"Are you always that loud, Anon?"
  231. >You hear from somewhere behind you.
  232. "Only when I'm so hungry I feel that I could eat a horse."
  233. >...
  234. >You realise what you just said.
  235. >You do a half-turn with your head, glancing at Trixie.
  236. "No offense."
  237. >Silence.
  238. >Nice one, Anon.
  239.
  240. >...
  241.
  242. >The light beige doors swing open as you enter the shop.
  243. >A single counter in the end of the brightly-lit room, a couple ponies sitting behind little round coffee tables.
  244. >Looks like a normal cafe.
  245. >"Hiya, Trixie!"
  246. >You hear a yell of a voice that you feel for the first time, yet you're already annoyed by it.
  247. >A bright-pink pony with a darker pink mane waves her hoof at you two from behind the counter.
  248.
  249. >You feel Trixie's eyeroll with your back.
  250. >"Why did we have to come here…"
  251. "It's alright. I'll handle it, you just stand back and look pretty."
  252. >You take her hat by the brim and drag it onto her face for the added effect.
  253.
  254. >Oh boy.
  255.
  256. >You feel your heartbeat again as you approach the counter.
  257. >This is the first time you're speaking to a pony without Trixie.
  258. >Do not fuck this up, Anon.
  259. >You raise your claws as a form of greeting and speak up.
  260. "H-he--"
  261.
  262. >"OH, HI ANON! DIDN'T NOTICE YOU HERE, ARE YOU WITH TRIXIE? WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR? WHAT'S THE BEST PIZZA TOPPING? DO YOU ALWAYS WEAR SUITS?"
  263. >This barrage of insanely hard questions showered on you like a piss rain on a shitty day.
  264. "Uh."
  265. >"Good enough!"
  266.
  267. >What.
  268. >She then scribbles on something with a pen in her mouth.
  269. >"Now, Anon!"
  270. "Huh?"
  271.
  272. >The pink pony inhales the whole room worth of air in one second.
  273.
  274. >"WELCOME CUPCAAAAAAAKES!"
  275. >All you hear apart from ringing then is a click.
  276. >Rows upon of rows of doors open on the ceiling and trays of different cupcakes rain on the tables, landing perfectly.
  277. >Clanking and grinding noises are emitted from the openings, and you see the cupcakes come back onto the trays in there.
  278.
  279. >You only noticed that because your head is about 2 feet under the ceiling.
  280. >Quite a compact mechanism, that.
  281. >Trixie's already going to town on the cupcakes behind you, judging by the look on the pink horse's face.
  282. >Though you feel something moving back there with your neck.
  283. >T-that is not Trixie.
  284. >Trixie couldn't breathe down your ne--
  285. >"Greetings, Anon."
  286.
  287. >That soft, calm, soothing voice.
  288. >It flows like honey through your ears, leaving behind only happiness.
  289. >You turn around.
  290. >A tall, white pony with quite a colourful flowing mane is gazing at you.
  291. >Words you never thought you'd say.
  292.
  293. "Um. Hello."
  294.
  295. >The pony takes a step back and eyes you all over again.
  296. >"Hm. I thought you'd be smaller than this."
  297. "You didn't see humans before me?"
  298. >"Looks like you're the first one. And that means…"
  299.
  300. "What?"
  301. >And then your vision went black.
  302.
  303. >Aw, shit.
  304. >Shitshitshit.
  305. >Feels like you're in a fever dream.
  306. >Your head hurts.
  307. >Vision is blurry.
  308. >You can't think straight.
  309. "AAH!"
  310.
  311. >What the fuck is that?
  312. >An octopus?
  313. >You try grabbing it with your hand and realise that it was your other hand.
  314. >You try feeling your face in case it got bitten off by another octopus.
  315. >It's fine, thank God.
  316. >Good.
  317. >Now you should look around the place.
  318. >Maybe you've been put in a cell or something for looking not on par to the standards in that quite fine Italian restaurant.
  319. >Did you eat the pasta wrong?
  320. >You'll never know.
  321. >You prefer spaghetti anyway.
  322. >Saucy spaghetti.
  323. >Saucy spaghetti with your mo--
  324.
  325. >"Khm."
  326. >You wake up.
  327.
  328. "OH MY GOD, A TALKING HORSE!"
  329. >A small horse is sitting in front of you.
  330. >You're lying in some sort of a chair-bed… Thing.
  331.
  332. >The small horse has glasses on it's nose, and a clipboard in its… Uh… Magic?
  333. >You can't see clearly if you know the pony, since it's blue mane has fallen on it's face.
  334. >"Do you consider yourself… An angry person?"
  335. "What."
  336. >"Do you get angry really fast?"
  337. >Even if you did, you never noticed.
  338. >It's a strange thing to ask anyway.
  339.
  340. >But then you see it.
  341. >You realise.
  342.
  343. "What's that leg doing under the wardrobe?"
  344. >The horse was just about to say something, but it stopped mid-breath for some reason.
  345. >Its horn light up and you lost consciousness again.
  346. >Aaaand you're back.
  347. >Well that was quick.
  348. >The blue pony is now gone.
  349.
  350. >Oh, it's back again!
  351. >And it looks like it's trying to tell you something.
  352. >Silly horse, animals can't speak!
  353. >"Listen, Anon, we need to--!"
  354. >You shut its mouth with your finger.
  355.
  356. "Silly horse, animals can't speak. Stop it. Wait, is that you, Joe? Where did you get a costume like that?"
  357. >You always knew Joe was a goddamn furry.
  358. >"Ahmhm!"
  359. "Stop calling me that."
  360. >You feel a strong chill storm all your bones from the inside, hollowing them out, leaving only cold darkness behind.
  361. >Your finger slips off Trixie's mouth instantly.
  362.
  363. >"Did you hear that?"
  364. "Hear what?"
  365. >Only now you notice where you are.
  366. >Cold, damp stone walls spread foul smells into your nose, blocking its sensitivity.
  367. >How did you know that they were cold, if you never touched them?
  368.
  369. >You extend your hand to be an inch away from the wall.
  370. >The cold radiates to your fingers.
  371. >The circulation in your arm stops.
  372. >The fingers feel like they're gonna fall off at any moment now.
  373. >Some strange emptiness gets hold of your chest.
  374. >This is feeling like an eternity.
  375.
  376. >"Those sounds, Anon!"
  377. >You look around and take a fighting stance, hoping to look at least a bit more intimidating than you normally are.
  378. >Which you aren't, like, at all.
  379.
  380. >Nothing at all.
  381. >There's nothing here.
  382. >You don't hear anything.
  383. >That nagging feeling in your chest continues, though.
  384. >Like you forgot something.
  385.
  386. >And then, you remember everything.
  387.
  388. >Enlightenment comes onto you.
  389.
  390. >It's all clear now.
  391.
  392. >You forgot y---
  393. >"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"
  394. >What's that warm air coming from behind you?
  395.
  396. >And where's Tri--
  397. >"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"
  398. "Alright missy, I don't need to deal with your bullshit at this very moment."
  399. >"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"
  400. >God, can't she just hold on for a minute?
  401. "If you don't stop now, I'll plug your mouth so ha--"
  402. >You turn around, lifting your index finger to finally get Trixie to calm the hell down.
  403. "Oh."
  404.
  405. >The pony stares at you, its non-existent eyebrows frowning in anger.
  406. >Th-that doesn't look like Trixie…
  407. >Hair almost fallen out, sharpened teeth, blank stare, skin and fur lying around the muscles in patches…
  408.
  409. >"Anon! Run!"
  410. >You hear from somewhere behind you.
  411. >Uh, you'd better run, yeah.
  412.
  413. >First, you back off slowly, not breaking eye contact.
  414.
  415. >Then you fucking crank the gear to max.
  416.
  417. >You ran, and you ran.
  418. >You heard a very distinct clopping of hooves creeping up behind you.
  419. >You can't just die like this.
  420. >The clopping is very close now.
  421. >You briefly turn around to see the pony heaving, trying to get you on its last bit of stamina.
  422. >Ha, human endurance wins agai--!
  423.
  424.
  425.
  426.
  427. >be Trixie
  428.
  429. >Why in Tartarus did you run away?
  430. >You left Anon all alone with whatever that thing was.
  431.
  432. >Walking through the labyrinth of the tunnels of the sewage system, taking deep breaths.
  433. >Then you hear steps, clopping, screaming and a voice.
  434. >Anon's voice.
  435. >You turn to the source, and see Anon running away from the Thing in a parallel tunnel.
  436. "Anon! I'm here!"
  437.
  438. >He looked at it, continuing to run.
  439.
  440. >Said something.
  441.
  442. >And banged his head on a pipe protruding from the ceiling.
  443.
  444. >With a loud "CLANG".
  445. >No matter how funny it was, you have to save him now.
  446. "I won't let you down the second time, Anon!"
  447. >You said, trying to get him faster than the Thing.
  448. >Which is kind of impossible.
  449.
  450. >You can't do it.
  451. >You're not fast enough.
  452. >The Thing will get it right this moment if you don't do something.
  453. >Think, Trixie, think!
  454.
  455. >The thing approaches Anon's unconscious husk slowly, with sounds of an old rotten meat hitting the floor with every step.
  456.
  457. >...
  458.
  459. >It's almost there.
  460. >It's gonna eat Anon alive in front of you.
  461. >And you won't do anything about it.
  462. >This masochistic thought kills you from the inside.
  463. >The thought of somepony dying right in front of you.
  464. >The cold feeling it'll make in your chest, slowly eating away at your soul.
  465. >Taking good meaty chunks of your being until the end.
  466.
  467. >You pull out your smoke bomb with no second thought.
  468. >It probably won't do anything, but you have to at least try.
  469. >Your horn lights up on it's own, working without your input.
  470. >It shines brightly, flooding the sewer with light, revealing the brown walls covered in moss.
  471. >The smoke bomb hovers over to your head, and your right eye closes to get a better perspective on your shot.
  472. >You gather the power.
  473. >You concentrate.
  474. >Your throat growls by itself.
  475. >Your right hoof clops.
  476. >Your heart beats.
  477.
  478. >The projectile warps as it's being pulled back by the magic force.
  479. >It also warps while flying through the air.
  480. >Whistling, your ears catching the frequency and muting everything else.
  481. >The ghoul turns its head, reacting to the growl and clop you did what seems like a minute before.
  482. >The smoke bomb emits a popping sound, and then a sound of strings being cut.
  483. >As it penetrates the ghoul's eye and goes through into its head.
  484.
  485. >Your guts shrink with anticipation.
  486. >You count down the seconds before the ghoul realises everything.
  487. >The thought of what comes next excites you and your fucked up masochistic mind.
  488. >Three.
  489. >Two
  490. >One.
  491.
  492.
  493.
  494. >The deflagration happens so fast you could even call that little smoke cracker a bomb.
  495. >With the sound of three megatons of TNT, it easily rips apart the rotting muscle and weakened bones.
  496. >It covers you head to hoof in smelly, meaty chunks.
  497. >A smile creeps up to your face.
  498.
  499. >It actually feels somewhat satisfying.
  500. >Being covered in blood.
  501. >...
  502.
  503. >You're not right in the head, Trix.
  504.
  505. >Your vision kind of dims a little.
  506. >At first you thought it was from all the blood.
  507. >But you knew that sensation pretty well.
  508. >It was like one of those times when you drank a little too much cider.
  509.
  510.
  511. >...
  512.
  513. >Completely forgetting about Anon, Trixie fell down beside him, not giving a care about anything around her.
