Anniversary Camping

Covet: Felix was sitting out on the end of the dock with the pole in his hand, he casted it out into the water listening to the plunk of the hook and sinker landing in the water. He watched the bobber floating in the water and held onto the pole between his legs, as he reached down for his lighter and the joint he had waiting for them. He checked back over his shoulder at the fire watching it burn away looking okay still. He kept it going for mostly Steph's benefit.
Alexithymiaa: -Steph stood at the end of the dock next to him, dead set against having anything to do with touching the fish. She was holding the camera she'd brought along with her and held it up to her face, pointing the lens across the water to catch the moonlight reflecting off the lake as she took a few pictures. "I think they might still be too dark..."-
Covet: "Do you want to get the tripod and do a longer exposure?" He asked her as he took a hit off the joint, and looked up at her, handing it up to her. With his other hand he picked up the pole so that when she took the joint he could turn the reel a couple of times.
Alexithymiaa: "Um..." She trailed off aimlessly as she cycled through her playback, thinking about her pictures. "I don't think so. I could probably open the aperature a little more..." She said, taking the jjoint from him and bringing it up to her lips to take a hit. "You're better at this than I am though."-
Covet: "They won't turn out so dark if you turn down the speed and open up the lense more. The more light that makes it to the lense, the more you'll see in the image." He told her slowly bringing the reel in. "Your only other option is to add more light, but that also depends on your focus."
Alexithymiaa: -She listened to his advice and changed her settings a bit in hopes of letting more light in, passing the joint back to him so she could bring the camera up and snap a couple more. "I might be leaving low light photography to the professional." She said with a laugh, dropping down to sit next to him.-
Covet: Taking the joint back from her he smiled and took a hit. "I'm not a professional, it just takes practice and patience." Felix said with a laugh. He felt a tug on the line and popped the pole up before reeling in quickly, feeling something pull but not hard on the other end.
Alexithymiaa: "If someone pays you to do something, you're a professional. Kind of the default definition." She started to go through some of the pictures she's taken over the last couple days, leaning over to show him. Covet: " I call bullshit. You can still be amature as fuck and still get paid." Felix said as he kept reeling in. He paused a second to look over at the picture, it's not like the fish was going anywhere. "Yeah that looks really good." He kept reeling in until he pulled up an undersized fish, "Stop stealing my worms you little shits." He said taking the fish off, to toss it back into the water.
Alexithymiaa: -She turned the camera off and set it down in her lap, watching him reel the fish in. "Maybe you'd have better luck if you used something better than worms. No one likes worms." She started to laugh, pulling out her phone to make sure she didn't have any missed calls from Cadence because she was a little paranoid about it. Seeing the time, she smiled widely, looking up at him. "Do you know what today is?"-
Covet: "I'm doing just fine, it's the hungry little bastards that are trying not to be eaten that keep eating them up." He said with a laugh, then set the pole down next to him to focus on the joint and Steph. He saw her check her phone, "I'm sure she's fine. If she needed us she would have called." Then when he heard Steph's question he h'mmmd and h'awwd about it... "I know it's something important....And it's practically right on the tip of my tongue." He said nearly moving into lick her, then stopped to give her a quick, kiss before he shrugged, then wrapped his arm around her waist, "But I just can't put my fingers on it."
Alexithymiaa: -She gave him a playful shove before leaning into him, burying her face into his neck. "I love you, but you're such a pain in my ass." She said before tugging away. "Hold on." Climbing up to her feet, she walked quickly back to their little camp, rummaging through her things to pull out the two envelopes she'd stashed where she figured he wouldnt come across them. Heading back down to the dock, she took her seat next to him, holding the larger envelope out. "Exactly a year ago today was the first time you actually called me your girlfriend. Fortunately it was while you were also telling my mother off so overall it's a good anniversary memory. I wanted to do something so you know just how much you mean to me."-
Alexithymiaa: (Its paperwork written up so he would legally own 50% of the house.)
Covet: "You chose me to be a pain in your ass. Just saying." He told her with a laugh, then watched her get up, taking her sweet time before she came back out, handing him the envelope. "He tilted his head to the side and took it, opening it up to pull ou the papers. He furrowed his brow a little looking it over. "Well this is a little bit of an unorthodox anniversary gift." Felix said. "You do realize what this means right?"
Alexithymiaa: "There is absolutely nothing orthodox about us so why would you get a gift that is?" She asked, glancing down at the papers in his hands before looking up at him. "Of course I know what it means. I had to sit down with a lawyer to go over everything and sign it in front of him. I think the better question is, do you realize what this means?"-
Covet: "I know what it means, and I'm cool with that, but by me signing this... you're allowing me to help pay for it too. So that means you can't tell me no." He said with a grin. "You sure you're okay with that?"
Alexithymiaa: "You already help pay for it. Now your credit just looks better because of it." She said with a laugh, sweeping her hair out of her face. "By you signing that, it means we're in this. Together. Until we decide we'd rather live somewhere else, but there's no getting sick of you. It's your house and you'll never not be welcome even if I temporarily want to punch you in the throat."-
Covet: "Yeah, and you can't tell me no." He said with a grin, because that's all he really cared about. " Red, I was already in this together before it became official on some piece of paper, but Thank you very much for helping my credit score." He said to her leaning over to give her a kiss. "I kind of feel like an asshole for not getting you anything in return."
Alexithymiaa: -She leaned in to return the kiss before shaking her head. "How did you not get me anything in return?" She asked quickly, glancing around their camp site. "First of all, you got me out of Portland and took me out here where I would definitely die if you weren't the one starting the fire, pitching the tent, and fishing. You're the reason I was able to get up and go hiking with you this morning without being carried, the reason I was able to make it through our hike without passing out, and the reason I'm able to get out of bed every morning. So don't you dare say you haven't gotten me anything in return."-
Covet: "Okay okay, fine I'll give you this one Red." He said with a laugh, pulling her in close. "This camping trip was part of that. I knew we probably wouldn't make a huge deal out of it, but something sweet all the same." Felix added.
Alexithymiaa: -She leaned in to him, pulling the other envelope close. "You were supposed to deny that I would die out here without you, but thanks for that." She laughed, lifting the other envelope that had tickets to see Marshmellow in a few weeks inside. "This was more for the both of us. I can't actually say it's a gift because it's for me too."-
Covet: "You're welcome" Felix said with a laugh, then looked at the tickets, "Wait.. What? These are for real?" He asked all super excited. "When are we going?"
Alexithymiaa: "Yes they're for real. I've been dying to see him for a while so when I found out he was going to be in Portland on his tour, I jumped at the chance to get tickets. I think it's the twenty seventh? Whatever that last Thursday is." She sat up a bit, looking at his face. "Have you ever been to an actual live EDM show before?"-
Covet: "Nothing on this level. I don't really think c-listers and local's really count." Felix said with a laugh. "You're officially the best girlfriend ever." He added with a grin.
Alexithymiaa: "Well I've never been to a show like this so it'll be a new experience for me. Something tells me rock shows are very different." She took the tickets and the envelope from him, putting them in her pocket. "I'll hold onto these because you'll lose them. Good to know I literally gave you a house, but the ticket to see Marshmellow makes me the best girlfriend ever."-
Covet: "There's more dancing that goes on." Felix said, "And there's a cooler lightshow usually. But that's about it." He told her then laughed, "Good idea. and Yeah, well the house is an adulting thing. The concert is a fun thing. Big difference there. Either way you're still the best and that's all that really matters right?"
Alexithymiaa: "I guess at the end of the day as long as I'm the best, that's all that matters." She leaned over to kiss his cheek, climbing up to her feet so she can look down to him. "Why don't you put the poles away so we can climb into the tent? I'm a little cold and we need to get up early to head back."-
Covet: "I can only promise one pole being put away." Felix said unable to contain himself. "I need to make sure the fire is out as well, then I'll be in to cuddle up with you." He told her as he got up and bright the fishing pole back up to their campsite, setting it in a safe place, then took the bucket of waste water under the water containers and went to pour it over the fire, mixig it up with his firepoking stick so that it was all ashy mud, before heading into the tent.
