Haven't done one of these in a while, here it goes.

Still jobless, still looking. Womp

On actual good news, PuzzleGeneral has emotes now. For what is essentially a pet project I'm super happy about the growth its getting. The community is putting in some real work and it is showing. Will make the super secret project that I'll announce for entirely worth it.

NASA is also doing good. With my free time I've been spending it on growth of those two communities. If you've noticed the NASA channel has been cleaning up its vod situation. The dreamhack vods were sitting on the account for about a year. Even had to add in missing 2017 vods. One is missing but that will be on their eventually. I just need to scrub through 5 freaking hours of video to mute select parts. So for those who know what I'm talking about, be excited. Horror Thriller Monster Marathon is also happening soon. I actually decided to get out of my comfort zone with regards to speedrunning and pick up something new because I wanted to be able to submit something if we need filler.

I ended up picking up Metroid on NES. I have yet to do a completed run. I honestly think I fucked up my d-pad with practicing the door jumps. Pressing down just feels bad. I need to decide if I want to sacrifice my 8bitdo's nes d-pad or not. If I could, I would just make a snes to nes adapter but that requires funds that I don't have. Literally just need a snes extension cord really. Already have a nes one. Splice together and done. But yeah, the game itself is very fun. Hopefully I can actually complete some runs. The game for sure deserves more attention.

I've also been going hard on working on more capture tech related things. Since my OSSC is still dead since I killed it at NASA , been doing pixel perfect capture directly from the datapath. I've gotten NES,SNES and N64, GBI-LL is still not 100% perfect. It looks very good but for some reason not as crisp as it should be. Once I have all the settings for all my consoles complete it is going straight into saved profiles and a spread sheet. With the upgrade path for NASA's stream computer I might just do a lot of direct captures and bypass the OSSC completely but TBD. In any case it is good to have in case things are not working as they are supposed to. I always plan for redunancy. I also realize a lot of this could be in a NASA tech tips tweet, whatever. I'll be improving those as well.


Probably won't do another one of these for a long ass while again. Have fun with the small insight. Cheers.
