  1. (Assumes you're doing lab deathwarp strats. Not sure if the extra Espeon experience helps as much on normal strats)
  2.
  3. The strat:
  4. - Don't sell Poke Balls (there are several shopping routes that accomplish this, but I think the best one is post-Quilava shopping with no sells and 35 X Specials)
  5. - Catch Makuhita with a Poke Ball instead of killing it with Confusion (100% catch chance)
  6. - Deposit Umbreon in Pyrite Building (use PC to heal if you want; +4 seconds for healing 1 Pokemon, +7 for healing both -- this is faster than taking the heal machine)
  7. - Use Makuhita on Ferma after Quilava dies; let it die to give Espeon 1218 extra exp. (see notes below)
  8. - Use Makuhita instead of Meditite on Miror B. 2, Nascour and Evice
  9. > Nearly identical fainting animation speed
  10. > Miror B.: Gets Extrasensory from Loudred (nearly identical animation speed)
  11. > Nascour: Same as Meditite
  12. > Evice: Always baits Silver Wind from Scizor (don't need to worry about Meditite's Defense)
  13. > Evice: Has a slightly higher chance of delaying Scizor if it's not a lead
  14.
  15. Ferma fight:
  16. 1: X Spec Espeon + Confusion Aipom (Aipom dies, Quilava dies; send out Makuhita)
  17. 2: X Spec Espeon + Confusion Mantine (does ~42% damage; Makuhita weakened)
  18. 3: X Spec Espeon + Confusion Mantine (Furret kills Makuhita with QA, Mantine dies, Espeon gets full exp.; 67% Mantine 2HKO range)
  19. 4: Confusion Yanma (Furret uses Helping Hand)
  20. 5: Confusion Furret (Furret is 50/50 to QA)
  21.
  22. Fight notes:
  23. - Espeon can safely enter the fight at 35 HP or more; just need to be out of Mantine kill range
  24. - Missing the Aipom range can be better or worse than standard strats, depending on Makuhita's Defense and Espeon's HP
  25. - Makuhita has about a 30% chance of surviving Bubblebeam + Quick Attack. This is fine if Mantine wasn't going to die anyway, but it wastes a turn if Mantine was going to die (or loses crucial Espeon exp., which is probably worse)
  26. - Makuhita has a very small chance of dying to Bubblebeam outright, which is much slower and riskier
  27. - For the reasons above, checking Makuhita's stats is probably a good idea, since it is very fast to do this after checking Quilava's. You can make some adjustments if you get a Makuhita with really good Defenses or really low Sp. Def
  28.
  29. Espeon gets 1218 extra exp., which gives the following benefits:
  30. - L33 for Dunsparce (98-->100% 2HKO%; small chance to OHKO with confusion/recoil damage) (-0.5s)
  31. - L33 for Swablu (small chance to OHKO; less likely to survive Quilava FW) (-2)
  32. - L34 for 3rd Ludicolo (outspeed L29, or bad speed can break tie with L28) (-5)
  33. - L35 for Hitmontop (33-->68% range with 1 X Special) (-4.5)
  34. - L36 for Numel (Psybeam OHKO instead of Return+FW 2HKO) (-7)
  35. - Twistedspoon for Graveler (94-->100% OHKO) (-1.5)
  36. - Twistedspoon for Trapinch (65-->100% OHKO) (-1.5)
  37. - Typhlosion gets L38 for Spinda, Kadabra and Sandslash on most natures (since you can delay the Exp. Share 2 fights on Espeon) (-7)
  38. - Typhlosion gets 1419 extra exp. for late game (-3)
  39.
