  1. What is the Next Step?
  2.
  3. Looking to the future of the Occupy Movement in North Carolina there are a host of unique opportunities to make a global impact by taking action locally. The one that is most evident is the DNC slated for the first week of September. Keep it non-violent, but lets really make a big push to vocalize our views on a Worldwide stage. Start your own protest group with friends and other activist, make signs, prepare, be present for the DNC.

  5. Just under a year from now is a major election. I, nor Occupy, should tell YOU what vote to cast, or even if you should vote at all. This is a touchy subject throughout Occupies nationwide. Endorsing candidates will only bring division. Focus on the issues. Econony, energy, and corporate accountability just to name a few. Find subjects to unite and work out disagreements through discussion, learn from those around you. The collective wisdom of a group is infinitely greater than the wisdom of its wisest member. Find ways to hold candidates accountable while finding ways to point out the ones doing it right.
  6.
  7. Some may choose not to participate in the election process, this is good too. Make sure your reasons are articulte and make them known. Protest Protest Protest. Be active and vocal, but above all non-violent and please do not damage property. Choose your targets wisely and coordinate with other groups when possible.

  9. There are already some groups in NC looking to send delegates to Philly for a National GA. I like. Organizing on a National level is awesome. We should look to find ways to unite Occupies all over the State as well.
  10.
  11. As we are organizing and uniting, keep in mind our decentralized nature. Each GA should remain independent and seperate. The State and National groups should serve as a forum for opensourcing and discussion to further the movement.

  13. All statements posted here are my humble opinion and open for discussion. Thanks for reading and look for more posts in the near future.
