Whenever the money leaves the area, there's less taxes going into the school system.

This creates a huge social divide between the rich and poor, and allow the rich people take advantage of stupid uneducated people.
The uneducated are much more likely to be hateful, because they grow a close minded aspect because they don't understand how to use the information their given.
Trump is a hateful person and it just happened to fall into the right combination of uneducated and poor.
