Let me start off this message by saying; I am a one-trick. Yesterday I got banned for being one, or so I thought. This story starts last month, when I also got banned. The ban was overturned by a GM who did indeed confirm one-tricking is not a bannable offense. However I understood why I was initially banned and I changed my ways somewhat, changing to different heroes when I wasn't doing well. I now started off every game by saying "Hello team, I am playing Mei, but I will swap if I'm not doing well". This was necessary because people reported me before the game even started because I play Mei. Saying this seemed to have simmered this down somewhat.
This line often lead to people saying someone along the lines off "Switch now, it's not going to work" before the round even started. I ignored these unnecessary comments. Mei is a very difficult character to judge how she's doing in your team. You might not realise how good some of my walls are, but the bad walls stand out like nothing else. Fair enough, but I decided I will swap when I think I'm not doing well, not when an angry teammates thinks I'm not doing well. Of course this leads to reports for being a one-trick, even if I am doing well.

Anyway, fast forward a month, I go in to a game, and get heavily flamed by two of my teammates before the round even starts. 2 Minutes in to the round and I am received hate on another level. He is calling me awful names and cannot stop trash talking. I ignore the guy for a while. The next round starts, and he and some of my other teammates decide to suicide off the map over and over again while flaming me, because of course the loss was my fault. He tells me he will report me, and poof, I am banned.
This guy who is saying the most awful things is still out there playing the game, while I get banned for playing a hero he does not like.

Of course I am expected to get unbanned once again, because just as the other GM confirmed, one-tricking is not bannable. Except this time, the ban is not repealed. Among other things the GM mentions "I've reviewed all of the evidenced and logs for the suspension on the Overwatch account. I really hate to say it, but the second review thoroughly confirmed our initial findings. This was not applied in error, and we will not overturn it. The suspension will last until 24/02/18. You will be able to play again after this time.". Fair enough, except that no where is mentioned why I was banned other than the very vague "Disruptive gameplay". The ticket mentioned being able to re-open the ticket if something was unclear. I think something may have gone wrong, as I was not able to re-open the ticket, so I was forced to open a second one as I was looking for answers.
This time a second GM answers but his response is even more confusing. He mentions "As for the question "Are [you] allowed to play an off-meta hero in situations some might not call ideal?", I would like to refer you to this interviwe with Jeff Kaplan: https://www.pcgamesn.com/overwatch/overwatch-uprising-2018-next-event-one-trick-jeff-kaplan". In this interview Jeff mentions "I do think it’s respectful to people to be willing to gel with the team composition, but you can’t ban somebody - it’s not a bannable offence - for just playing one hero, as long as you’re trying your best to win with that hero.". So clearly this GM is telling that indeed, one-tricking is not a bannable offense.

So why am I banned? I don't know, and I am not allowed to make any further repeal requests. I am not told why I am banned. I am not toxic, in fact I pride myself in being positive. Of course sometimes I say something that would have been better left not said, but I do feel I am never toxic.
I never throw, I give my absolute best till the last second, no matter the odds.

So what is it? Why am I banned? How can I improve if I am not told what I did wrong?

The problem is that I will be reported again, and I will be banned again for playing a hero some people do not like. All while people who tell me to go kill myself are out there ruining more games for others. That does not feel fair.
