Homecoming

Covet: Kelsey's uber pulled up to the building and Kelsey climbed out with her giant suitcase and her carry on and thanked the driver, before heading into the the dorm building. She made her way over to where her room was at and dropped her bags inside, looking around for Connor and Brad. Not seeing them in her dorm room, she walked back out and down the hallway towards the kitchen and common area.
Alexithymiaa: -Knowing that Kelsey was on her way home, Brad had planned a nice welcome home dinner for her that he intended to make with Connor's help. He had several pieces of chicken breast in the oven on a roasting pan with seasoned potatoes around them and on top of the stove he was in the process of stirring rice in a pot. He'd given Connor the job of tossing the salad since he'd bought mixed greens and little cherry tomatoes and nothing actually needed to be cut, just combined.-
Covet: Kelsey saw Brad and Connor busy at making food. She leaned against the wall near the couches and smiled, watching them for a moment. // Connor was more or less just playing in the lettuce and what not, but trying to do it gently so he didn't bruise the lettuce at all. "Dad, how much longer before Momma gets here?"
Alexithymiaa: "She should be here any minute, little man." Brad said, moving his hand over to check the time on his phone he'd set on the counter. "Her plane landed a while ago." He moved back to the rice, giving it one final stir and then turned the heat off, moving it off the burner and setting it aside. "How's our salad look?"-
Covet: Kelsey just stood there wanting to watch them in their own element without her. //"Like salad?" He said questioningly, like that was a strange question to ask. "How long was a while ago?"
Alexithymiaa: "Don't give me any of that. Is it done?" He asked him, turning around to look at Connor behind him. "About an hour ago. But she needs to get off the plane, wait for her bags and get her ride here so it does take about an hour."-
Covet: Kelsey couldn't help but laugh at Connor's ressponse, because she could hear Brad in her son's tone. // Connor heard her and turned his head, "It's been an hour! Momma!" He said stepping down and away from the counter running over to give her a hug.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad lifted his head up to look in the direction of her laugh, smiling when he spotted her. He followed after Connor, not intending to run because it's still Brad, but he was waiting for Connor to finish hugging her before he could move in. "How was the flight?"-
Covet: "Long, but I'm very happy to be home. I missed my boys." She said picking Connor up as he ran over to her and held him close to her. Then she let him down and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her head near there as well.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad waited his turn and then stepped into Kelsey, wrapping his arms around her back and hugging her tightly. "Well your boys missed you too."-
Covet: "It smells delicious, what did you guys make?" She asked them. // Connor pulled at her dress, " trying to pull her and Brad both to the kitchen. "Dad and I made chicken and potatoes and rice and I made the salad."
Alexithymiaa: "Yep, we did. Working hard for your homecoming." He said, pulling away from her so he could head back into the kitchen. He grabbed an oven mitt and opened the oven, setting the chicken and potato pan down to cool.-
Covet: "Well, I'm very impressed. That all looks good, and that salad looks delicious." She said to Connor looking at the Salad bowl he had to bring and show her. // "See Momma, we even put the baby tomatoes into the bowl." Connor said with a smile.
Alexithymiaa: "We've been eating real healthy since you left." He lied, because he probably only cooked twice a week and rotated their take out options the other nights. He started to dish up the chicken onto three plates, scooping potatoes and rice onto them. "Why don't you get some salad bowls, Connor?"-
Covet: "Oh have you? Well now I'm just shocked." Kelsey said looking at him, then at Connor, "What did you guys eat the most of?" She asked him directly. // Connor went about getting the bowls putting them next to the salad to get it dished up. "Pizza and Chinese food." Connor said like it was no big deal, throwing Brad right under the bus.
Alexithymiaa: "Well we also had a lot of homemade chicken." He retorted, shooting Connor a look because BRO. He picked up the first two plates and brought them over to the table, setting them down in front of Kelsey and Connor's chairs before going back to the kitchen to get his own. "Holly helped us make our own homemade pizza once too."-
Covet: Kelsey smiled and laughed, "It's okay, I'm not mad about it, I'm just glad you guys didn't starve, or catch food poisoning." She said to them, making her way over to the table. "I saw that It looked really good, you two will have to make it for me sometime." Kelsey said sitting down. // Connor looked at Brad, " I told you we should have made pizza." He said then looked at Kelsey, "Dad said you wouldn't want it so soon after getting pizza in New York."
Alexithymiaa: "It's not a welcome home dinner kind of meal. This is better. We'll make her pizza later in the week after the taste of real pizza starts to wear off." He said with a laugh, having a seat down at the table.-
Covet: "Hey, I don't have to cook two nights in a row, That's a win win for me." She said with a smile and started to take a few bites of the food. "Mmm, thank you both. This is a perfect homecoming dinner." // Connor got up to his seat and dug in without hesitation. "Okay, but we need to get the spinach and the fresh mozzerella this time."
Alexithymiaa: "We can do that, don't worry. And if we're busy, we'll just make a list for Evan and he'll bring back everything we need." He said with a nod, beginning to cut up his chicken. "So I do have some gossip for you... I was waiting for you to get back to share it with you."-
Covet: "Oh dinner, and gossip, aren't I lucky." Kelsey said with a laugh taking another bite. // Connor nodded his head. "Tell Evan Thank you, please Dad." He said then went about his food because he didn't care about gossip he didn't even know what it was.
Alexithymiaa: "I will, don't worry buddy." He said as he pushed chicken into his mouth, chewing and swallowing before he continued in on the gossip. "Well I was on set with Aubrey and Liz last week...and Justin showed up during lunch. I kind of just assumed it was to support Liz and whatever else... but he went right up to Aubrey first and greeted her with a kiss."-
Covet: Kelsey nearly choked on her rice as she heard what Brad said. "Wait... What!?" She said coughing a bit. "But he totally punched her in the face!" She exclaimed in complete utter shock.
Alexithymiaa: "I know. I was shocked, which is why I just sat in my chair and watched them instead of eating. There's definitely something going on there. They were all coupley and stuff and definitely not shy about it." He said with a nod.-
Covet: "I'm not sure how to feel about this other than mildly disgusted, and concerned because that's a train wreck waiting to happen." Kelsey said. " I wonder what drove her to that?"
Alexithymiaa: "Drugs?" He asked sort of sarcastically because he couldnt imagine any other reason she would end up with Justin after everything.-
Covet: "That's honestly the only answer I can come up with... But even then... Justin? Of all people... Oh I can't wait to tell Bryan, He'll either laugh his ass off or lose his shit." Kelsey said lighting up.
Alexithymiaa: "I know, I was just thinking the same thing. It's just so... weird. I didn't ask her about it because I figured she might take it that I was fishing for information, but I think if you reach out to Liz, she'll spill."-
Covet: "Oh easily, Liz spills about everything, it's not even that hard to get information out of her." Kelsey said with a laugh.
Alexithymiaa: "I think you should do it. Text her tomorrow or something and just tell her that I mentioned seeing them together and try to bait her into telling you more. Because I really need to know, now."-
Covet: "Okay, okay I'll do it and tell you all about. I promise." She said to him then yawned. "I'm thinking it's time for bed, I'm so tired, after that flight." // Connor looked at them, "But I still get a bedtime story now right?"
Alexithymiaa: "Alright you go get into bed for your stories and I'll finish with the kitchen, okay?" He said even though he was just going to dump everything in the sink.-
Covet: Kelsey got up and gave Brad a kiss as Connor ran off, "And then I can properly thank you for a wonderful homecoming." She told him, kissing him again then followed after her son.
Alexithymiaa: "I'll be in soon." He told her, collecting the plates to scrape the food off of them before just depositing them into the sink to deal with everything tomorrow.-
