  1. <Wrong_Way>: ALRIGHTTT
  2. <Wrong_Way>: Flip, Gwyd, Jitters and Clara are all walking to the newly opened bakery in the town. It's gotten pretty positive reviews and lots of talk of their very delicious pastries and bread.
  3. <Wrong_Way>: [GO MINGLE]
  4.
  5. Flipside is walking a little ahead of the group, eager to try the pastries.
  6. Gwyd is calmly walking
  7. Clara walks by Gwydion, not really knowing Jitters well and not wanting to get in the way of Flip's pastries
  8. Jitterbug is in the backmalley, looking for stale pastries to eat
  9. <Wrong_Way>: [I guess Trick is walking with you too]
  10.
  11. Trick is walkign with the lot of you for whatever reason
  12. <Gwyd>: "So uh clara, do you know them well?"
  13. <Clara>: "Who?" she asks, a bit zoned out
  14. <Gwyd>: "Jitters, and the librarian. Ive never actually talked to them..are you ok?You seem a bit out of it."
  15. <Flipside>: "...hang on, haven't I seen you two in the library before?" she asked Gwyd and Clara.
  16. <Clara>: "Oh! just a bi-" she is cut off by Flip "Mirela, I was living in your house..."
  17.
  18. <Flipside>: [fuck, meant Trick[
  19. <Trick>: "Maybe, I picked up my books just recently. I'm new."
  20. <Gwyd>: "Oh yeah, probably ms crespelle. Its nice to meet you."
  21. Jitterbug runs back to the group
  22. <Jitterbug>: Nothing to report, guys
  23.
  24. <Flipside>: "Hmm, you're... Gwydion, yes? Clara mentioned you. And it's always nice to see a new face. What's your name?"
  25. <Clara>: "I didn't talk about him /that/ much"
  26. Clara is a terribad liar
  27. <Gwyd>: "hehe"
  28. <Trick>: "I'm John."
  29. <Flipside>: "John, hmm? Well, I'm Mirela, or Miss Crespelle, whatever takes your fancy."
  30.
  31. <Gwyd>: "So what did you say was up, clara?"
  32. <Trick>: "Nice to meet you, Mrs Crespelle."
  33. <Clara>: "Oh, it was nothing, just took a late night from a project"
  34. <Gwyd>: "Oooh, what kind of project?"
  35.
  36. <Clara>: "Just a little side thing. Halfway done with it"
  37. <Gwyd>: "Sounds fun, cant wait to see it. Im sure it will be brillaint."
  38.
  39. Jitterbug follows behind the group
  40. <Clara>: "Oculus project, camera about the size of an eye with a similar function that can fly itself around with gravitons"
  41. <Flipside>: "Ah, Bella, I was wondering when you'd catch up."
  42. <Jitterbug>: I've been here for a while, Flip....
  43. <Flipside>: "Oh, have you? Sorry, must have lost you halfway."
  44.
  45. <Clara>: "That's what you say about everything I make. I might just take it as more trying to flatter me one of these days" she chuckles
  46. <Jitterbug>: Eh, it's fine, didn't find much to eat there, anyways
  47. Gwyd laughs along.
  48. <Wrong_Way>: You guys finally get to the bakery. Well, the end of the linee. to the bakery. There's a very nice line leading outside of the bakery that is moving a decent rate.
  49. Flipside stares in horror at the line. The pastries are a lost cause
  50. <Wrong_Way>: [>Decent rate]
  51. <Wrong_Way>: [jeez, is this lazy town?]
  52. <Clara>: [LOST CAUSE]
  53. <Flipside>: [it's a line, outside of the bakery]
  54. <Wrong_Way>: [it's a popular bakery. Get over it]
  55. Trick regrets going with people when he could have just cheated his way to the front of the line
  56. <Jitterbug>: I could always use the roaches!]
  57. <Gwyd>: what roaches?]
  58. <Wrong_Way>: [you guys don't understand the thrill of waiting in line]
  59. <Clara>: "...it won't take too long right?"
  60. <Wrong_Way>: There are people who are walking behind you who obviously want to stand in line.
  61. <Wrong_Way>: Are you part of the line?
  62. <Jitterbug>: yes]
  63. <Flipside>: "Yes, we're part of the line. One big group too."
  64. <Wrong_Way>: So you're standing in line. It looks like there's only about 8 people ahead of you. Not too bad.
  65. <Jitterbug>: >right people]
  66. <Wrong_Way>: [Go ahead and talk I guess]
  67. <Jitterbug>: *eight people]
  68. Clara waits in line
  69. <Jitterbug>: line utside the door]
  70. <Wrong_Way>: The guy ahead of you looks back at you guys nervously, probably because you're obviously got powers.
  71. Gwyd waits in line
  72. <Gwyd>: i dont]
  73. <Jitterbug>: brb[
  74. <Flipside>: [it's not particularly obvious for me either]
  75. <Jitterbug>: shit]
  76. <Jitterbug>: gtg]
  77. <Wrong_Way>: [okay]
  78. <Jitterbug>: sorry[
  79. <Wrong_Way>: [it's cool]
  80. <Wrong_Way>: [no commitment here]
  81. <Clara>: [seeya jitters]
  82. <Trick>: [trick has nothing obvious either]
  83. <Wrong_Way>: [Red haired kids are pretty creepy]
  84. <Flipside>: [it's basically Jitters and Clara if she's got the tech]
  85. <Wrong_Way>: The guy still takes notice of you.
  86. <Clara>: [I got scouty scouter but thats it]
  87. <Wrong_Way>: He mutters something about cosplayers and keeps to himself
  88. <Wrong_Way>: the line is slowly moving down, but you still have some time to talk about the lovely smell that's coming out of the bakery.
  89. <Flipside>: ...Gosh darn it I'm so hungry.
  90. <Gwydion>: yo[
  91. <Gwydion>: fell]
  92. <Wrong_Way>: [okay]
  93. <Gwydion>: so we just stopping, or]
  94. <Wrong_Way>: [nope]
  95. <Gwydion>: clara/jb have to go]
  96. <Wrong_Way>: [no commitment]
  97. <Wrong_Way>: [we keep moving forward]
  98. <Wrong_Way>: [http://mibpaste.com/Lz0UKg for you gwyd]
  99.
  100. <Wrong_Way>: It really smells good in the bakery.
  101. <Wrong_Way>: It doesn't help that it's a bit chilly out and it feels like it'll be warm inside the bakery
  102. Trick enhances his smell to build up his hype
  103. Clara 's scanners are off the charts
  104. <Flipside>: Just need to wait a little longer...
  105. <Trick>: "What do you guys think you're gonna get?"
  106. Clara is locked in indecision
  107. <Flipside>: "Hmm, I haven't decided yet."
  108. <Gwydion>: gtg]
  109. <Gwydion>: srry]
  110. *** Gwydion is now known as Sol_away
  111. Trick is standing with just flipside and clara now I guess
  112. <Trick>: [whoops, not even clara
  113. Trick and flipside are out having fun with just the two of themselves I guess?
  114. <Flipside>: "Hmm, funny how this bakery just suddenly became so popular..."
  115. <Trick>: "It probably went viral on the internet or something."
  116. <Flipside>: "Possibly. Still, so many people."
  117. Trick adjusts his jacket and stuffs his hands into his pockets
  118. <Trick>: "Maybe they're all here, because they're wondering why everyone else is?"
  119. <Flipside>: "Seems simple enough. So, tell me more about yourself John."
  120. <Trick>: "Not much to say, I guess."
  121. <Wrong_Way>: You're 4 places in line now. You can actually see inside the store now. It seems very old fashioned, with an very nice old lady working at the register. Maybe that's why it's taking a long time to get the orders done.
  122. <Wrong_Way>: You can feel general warmth from inside now. It's pretty weird of them to leave the door open and let the heat out, but it's very inviting.
  123. <Flipside>: "C'mon now, everyone's got a story to tell."
  124. Trick becomes aware of the ambient heat and stops numbing himself as much
  125. <Trick>: "I haven't accomplished any crazy feats or anything. I went to school, passed my classes, did sports because it gave me more time to hang out with my friends, had to stop since no mutants with relevant powers in competitive activities though. moved here with my cousin for a better education, since I drifted apart from my old little gang."
  126. <Wrong_Way>: The guy in front of you looks back, perhaps trying to see how many people are still waiting.
  127. <Wrong_Way>: He catches a bit of that conversation and quickly looks back to facing forward
  128. <Flipside>: "Cousin?"
  129. <Trick>: "I'm already 18 and he's 20-something, and my parents were fine with it. My old school was kinda crummy, this whole academy thing you've got going on is like a palace compared to it."
  130. <Trick>: "We still talk and make sure I'm gonna be alright, I just need to finish up my Senior year."
  131. <Flipside>: "Understandable. You talk much to the other students here?"
  132. <Trick>: "Not... really."
  133. <Flipside>: "Hmm, bit of a shame. I think most of the students are in or around your age range."
  134. <Wrong_Way>: And hey, you're only second in line. The guy in front of you is quietly whispering something while you two wait.
  135. <Trick>: "Yeah, it's just awkward getting into the social circles this late in the year, especially since I'm catching up with all the missed work and stuff. We only had two math classes back at my old school for Seniors, and the good one isn't even on the same level as the top half of courses this place offers."
  136. <Wrong_Way>: Right now you can see the menu above and the display case next to the register.
  137. <Trick>: [whatsit saaaay?]
  138. <Wrong_Way>: [ANYTHING YOUR HEART DESIRES]
  139. <Wrong_Way>: It lists various scones, rolls, cookies, and anything you'd expect in a bakery, even coffee and hot chocolate. It's pretty great."
  140. <Wrong_Way>: The guy in front of you is whispering angerly at the old lady, who seems to recognize the man and seems very afraid.
  141. Trick bumps up his hearing to listen in.
  142. <Wrong_Way>: "Listen here, Bobby owes me all of this. I got him the loan, I found him the location, I DID EVERYTHING!" the man says, raising his voice audible enough for Flip and everyone else in line to hear
  143. Trick tones down his hearing, ouch.
  144. Flipside looks at the man suddenly
  145. <Wrong_Way>: "I told you once and I'll tell you again, you're not allowed back here Derek. The restraining order? Do you know how badly they messed up Bobby?" The old lady says, standing her ground.
  146. Flipside leans in toward Trick
  147. <Wrong_Way>: "I DIDN'T KNOW OKAY!" The man yells, making this arguement silence the whole line.
  148. <Flipside>: "Oh boy, things are heatin' up even more here..."
  149. <Trick>: "Think we should leave?"
  150. <Wrong_Way>: The man realizes that he just made himself the center of attention, and then pulls out something.
  151. <Wrong_Way>: It's a gun.
  152. <Flipside>: "Not just yet."
  153. <Wrong_Way>: "ALRIGHT EVERYONE, GET OUT OF HERE OR THIS PLACE IS GOING TO GET A WHOLE LOT HOTTER!"
  154. <Wrong_Way>: Everyone starts screaming and shouting, trying to get out of the bakery.
  155. <Flipside>: "Right, that's far enough. John, get the rest of these people out of here."
  156. Trick rushes at the man. To the man it's almost as if he's lagging in real life, he gets stuttering images of where he was a second after he's there
  157. <Wrong_Way>: The man sees you two standing there and fires a shot up into the ceiling accidiently
  158. <Wrong_Way>: The bullet is on fire.
  159. Trick hits the man hard in the gut with a brass knuckle
  160. <Wrong_Way>: The man is hit, but the damage seems to be done.
  161. <Wrong_Way>: The bullet goes up into the ceiling and it starts blazing, leading to the sprinkler system going off
  162. <Wrong_Way>: The sprinklers don't seem to be doing a thing to the fire.
  163. <Trick>: "Goddamnit. Mrs Crespelle?"
  164. <Wrong_Way>: Everyone is pushing and shoving to get out of the now burning bakery.
  165. <Flipside>: "I got it. The fire /is/ burning."
  166. Trick picks up the gun with his right hand, notable the one that is not holding the aforementioned brass knuckle
  167. <Wrong_Way>: The man gets up. The old lady at the counter is hiding behind the counter and pushing the silent alarm. The man notices her disappearence and jumps over the counter to find her.
  168. <Flipside>: "John, get the man, I'll get the civilians out."
  169. <Wrong_Way>: He pulls her up and holds her in a hostage hold. Either way, this man is not afraid to put this lady out.
  170. Trick pockets his brass knuckle, gets into a relatively well-done posture, and points his newly acquired hellfire gun at the man
  171. <Wrong_Way>: He holds up his finger to her head, which is now blazing.
  172. <Trick>: "You might wanna calm down, buddy."
  173. <Flipside>: "...okay, change of plans. You better stop right there pal."
  174. <Wrong_Way>: "I'm not leaving here til I get what I want."
  175. <Wrong_Way>: The man now looks to the lady. "WHERE'S BOBBY?"
  176. <Wrong_Way>: The old lady is too busy shaking in fear to answer him
  177. Trick looks over to flipside with an expression of mixed fear and confusion
  178. <Wrong_Way>: "YOU BETTER ANSWER, BECAUSE THEY'RE NEVER GOING TO BE ABLE TO PUT YOUR BODY OUT!"
  179. <Flipside>: "Hey, no, cool it, firebug."
  180. <Flipside>: "No one got no where just bein' all angry and up in people's faces."
  181. Wrong_Way turns his attention to Flip. "SHUT UP LADY! THIS IS A FAMILY DISPUTE HERE."
  182. <Wrong_Way>: [ahaha sorry]
  183. *** Wrong_Way is now known as Hell-FireMan
  184. <Flipside>: [is cool bro, point got across fine.]
  185. <Flipside>: "Right then. In that case, I have no choice."
  186. Hell-FireMan looks back to the old lady. "NOW WHERE, IS, BOBBY?" he says, moving his finger closer and closer to emphasize.
  187. <Flipside>: "The old lady is /not/ safe."
  188. <Hell-FireMan>: The old lady is suddenly teleported outside of the store, where everyone is in a crowd trying to call the police or post this on their social media.
  189. Hell-FireMan looks down to see his hostage is now gone and is pissed
  190. Hell-FireMan clenches his fists and is suddenly engulfed in a firery armor. The fire from him immediantly starts to burn and spread wherever it touches
  191. Trick more confidently points his gun at the man, now that there's no risk of shooting an old woman
  192. <Hell-FireMan>: "That wasn't very nice..." he says.
  193. <Trick>: "Now, uh... stop that."
  194. <Hell-FireMan>: "This was MY store. I can burn it down if I want to!" he shouts, as more and more parts of the floor and counter start to burn
  195. <Flipside>: "The fire /is/ burning!"
  196. Trick begins backing away. Furtunately, his powers are tailor-made for walkign backwards without tripping on something
  197. Hell-FireMan 's armor goes out for a second, but he immediantly puts it back on. The fire on the counter and floor go out though
  198. <Hell-FireMan>: "STOP THAT!" he yells at Flipside
  199. <Flipside>: "Hmm, let me think. No."
  200. Hell-FireMan is pissed, and once again, his armor is put out and he put it back on.
  201. <Hell-FireMan>: "I MEAN IT! I'LL SET THAT KID OVER THERE ON FIRE IF YOU DON'T STOP!" he bellows, pointing to Trick
  202. Trick lets off a warning shot on the ground
  203. <Trick>: "Try me."
  204. <Flipside>: "I've seen guys like you before. All fire n' flair, no substance to them."
  205. <Flipside>: "Besides, your threats are empty when the fire /is/ burning."
  206. <Sol>: yo]
  207. <Sol>: looogs?[
  208. Hell-FireMan once again loses his armor and his temper.
  209. <Hell-FireMan>: "GOD. DAMNIT!" he says, and he gains his armor once more and starts throwing fire around the bakery.
  210. Trick dodges the fire very smoothly, especially for someone his size
  211. <Hell-FireMan>: "HOW'S THAT FOR SUBSTANCE?"
  212. Hell-FireMan starts picking up pastries and throws them at the two.
  213. Flipside dodges the flames smoothly, practically dancing around them.
  214. <Hell-FireMan>: Flaming pastries are now flying at them
  215. Trick bobs and weaves around them
  216. <Trick>: "Mrs Crespelle, I don't really know if it's okay to shoot someone like this."
  217. Trick gestures to the gun in his hand
  218. <Hell-FireMan>: The flaming pastries now just add to the small inferno is going on in the room
  219. <Trick>: "But, uh, I'm not sure how else to deal with this."
  220. <Flipside>: "How good is your timing?"
  221. <Trick>: "Preemptive-good."
  222. <Flipside>: "Well, think you can score a hit in a split-second?"
  223. <Trick>: "This is my first time firing a gun."
  224. Hell-FireMan is angry that the two are still talking and continues to try to throw pastries at them
  225. Trick doesn't need to look to dodge
  226. Hell-FireMan manages to lob one by Flipside's nice shoes.
  227. <Flipside>: "You are pushing the line, you walking-talking matchstick!"
  228. <Flipside>: "John, whether it's with the gun or your fist, doesn't matter right now. Can you hit him in that single second?"
  229. <Hell-FireMan>: "YOU WANT ME TO COME OVER THERE?" He yells
  230. Hell-FireMan is now just throwing fire at random parts of the room to add to this fire thing.
  231. Trick now has to exert effort to continue dodging
  232. <Trick>: "Sure! Whatever! As long as shooting the guy won't get me jailtime!"
  233. <Flipside>: "Right, I'm gonna put him out again, you just get in there and sock 'im."
  234. <Trick>: "I'm not sure if I can get that close. without burning myself..."
  235. Hell-FireMan now lifts up the register to throw at the two
  236. Trick dives out of the way
  237. <Hell-FireMan>: "STOP TALKING!" he yells as he throws a now flaming cash register
  238. <Hell-FireMan>: [hadn't thrown it yet, trick.]
  239. <Hell-FireMan>: [but i admire your spidey sense]
  240. <Flipside>: "...Throw the gun."
  241. Trick is just too good sometimes]
  242. <Trick>: "...Fine."
  243. Hell-FireMan is trying to throw as many things he has left on his side of the counter, including various pens.
  244. <Flipside>: "Right, get ready... The fire /is/ burning!"
  245. Hell-FireMan 's armor goes off again
  246. <Hell-FireMan>: "I TOLD YOU TO STOP THAT!"
  247. Trick throws the gun pretty damn hard. Football experience, yo, along with free time baseball
  248. <Hell-FireMan>: The various flames in the room go out again
  249. Hell-FireMan is hit in the face just about as he's going to turn it on.
  250. <Hell-FireMan>: "AGH!"
  251. Hell-FireMan stumbles back and picks up the gun
  252. <Trick>: "..."
  253. <Hell-FireMan>: "AHA!" he exclaims and he puts on his armor
  254. <Trick>: "Uh..."
  255. <Hell-FireMan>: "Thanks for that."
  256. <Flipside>: "The gun is /not/ a water pistol."
  257. Hell-FireMan 's gun is now a water pistol, as he's just about to fire it.
  258. <Hell-FireMan>: "...OH FUCK YOU GUYS!" He says, torching the poor plastic water gun.
  259. <Trick>: "Dude, the cops are gonna be here in a couple minutes. You should probably calm down."
  260. Hell-FireMan climbs over the counter
  261. <Hell-FireMan>: "You guys are seriously pissing me off."
  262. Hell-FireMan picks up a chair and throws it at the two now flaming
  263. Hell-FireMan generally just wants to throw things at them and hope it hits them.
  264. <Flipside>: "There /is/ a chair!"
  265. <Hell-FireMan>: The chair disappears in mid air. Who knows where it went.
  266. Hell-FireMan looks outside and sees that the old lady is now on her very old person phone talking to someone
  267. <Flipside>: [she's talking on a jitterbug]
  268. Hell-FireMan realizes something and now picks up a table to throw at the window blocking him from her
  269. <Hell-FireMan>: [heck yeah]
  270. <Hell-FireMan>: The window breaks and the old lady screams
  271. Hell-FireMan climbs out of the window, everyone outside now runs away from flaming armor man and he removes the armor to grab her phone
  272. <Hell-FireMan>: "You're talking to BOBBY, AREN'T YOU?" he shouts at the old lady.
  273. <Flipside>: "Ugh, the measures you people push me to... You are /not/ asleep." she says, pointing at the man.
  274. <Trick>: "...You could do that this whole time?"
  275. Hell-FireMan suddenly falls onto the lady and is out like a night light
  276. <Hell-FireMan>: The old lady gestures for help, obviously in possible old lady pain
  277. <Flipside>: "Well, I prefer to use it as a last resort. Hurts like hell when I use it."
  278. <Trick>: "Oh, alright. That makes sense."
  279. *** Hell-FireMan is now known as OldLady
  280. <OldLady>: "Help....."
  281. Trick quietly walks over and helps up Oldlady
  282. OldLady is on her back like a turtle.
  283. <OldLady>: [HA ONE TURTLE REFERENCE]
  284. <OldLady>: [BEAT THAT]
  285. <OldLady>: "Thank you sonny..."
  286. OldLady looks at all the damage that the store has endured and does one of those old lady groans.
  287. Trick holds a finger to his lips and begins walking her away from the unconscious hellfire man
  288. Flipside looks around the store.
  289. <OldLady>: Hellfire Man seems to be a heavy sleeper
  290. <OldLady>: "Bobby and I put our heart and soul into this store..."
  291. <Flipside>: "Hmm, let me think... the store /is/ damaged."
  292. <OldLady>: The store is brought back to working conditions. The burns suffered and the missing furniture are fixed, including the window Hellfire did.
  293. OldLady nearly has a heart attack when she sees the sudden repairs
  294. <OldLady>: "Good lord!"
  295. Trick looks in awe at the restored... store. Internally notes the power level of the other mutants at the school
  296. <OldLady>: "I don't know how I can repay you..."
  297. Flipside exits the store, rejoining Trick
  298. <OldLady>: [and to explain to the cops how the store got fixed]
  299. <OldLady>: The cops eventually arrive to pick up Hellfire for "loitering", since he was sleeping in the middle of the street
  300. <OldLady>: [you guys wanna finish up with anything else?]
  301. <Trick>: "I didn't realize you were that strong."
  302. <Flipside>: "Oh, all that? Yeah, that's my power right there. I could change all of reality if I wanted to."
  303. <Flipside>: "Well, admittedly not that far but the point stands."
  304. <OldLady>: The store gets extra donations from bystanders watching the crazy fight out of sympathy. The fight is also caught on video and the store becomes even more successful.
  305. <Trick>: "Holy crap..."
  306. <OldLady>: The store's line becomes a block long. There is no explanation for why they won't open up more locations. Oh well.
  307. Trick internally realizes the sheer power level difference of him and the other mutants at the school
