- Hello Allan and Chris,
- As part of the working poor I don't have a very fast-growing storage needs but that also mean I don't usually get to buy disks that are identical - most of the time their sizes can be orders of magnitude apart based on what is on sale (the last time I bought HDD I got 1x4TB off for black friday sale, and then a 1.5TB before that one, and a 500GB before that). Even if I ended up with disks that are the same sizes they might be of different brand, platter arrangement, cache size or revision.
- Here is my question: How would you guys arrange the storage under this kind of restrictions? How much of a problem would it be If I use disks of about the same size but different brand/arrangements in a multi-volume setting?
- Thank you in advance.
- Francis
