Waking up early with the morning sun shining in on my face and loud noises coming from outside. Looking through the window I notice a mover van helping a new family move into the house Mr. Hachinson and his wife lived in not so long ago "its nice to see some new faces around here" I thought to myself. It wasn't long until mums voice bellows up the stairs to my room "Daniel, Christie breakfast is ready!", along with it came the smell of mouth-watering home-cooked bacon and eggs, I quickly dress with the first thing I find and head down the stairs to join the family. Typically dad is reading the daily newspaper while mum serves up breakfast, "here you are honey, dig in".

Finishing up breakfast and washing the plates I eagerly run for the door until a hard thud hits me on the side and banging my head against the wall leaving a dent, "ugh, move out of my way, jeez!". That's my older sister Christie, this is normal of her to be this way, mean, has it in for me for no particular reason along with a sour attitude towards mum and dad, she can be the rebellious type. I get back up, rub the bump on my head and grab for the door handle. Taking a step outside and breathing in the morning air, I thought to myself "finally I can relax and have time to myself". It wasn't long until my friend Josh notices me and runs towards me with his arms flailing in the air oblivious to the attention he's drawing to himself all while screaming my name "DANIEL!!!!!!", I sigh waiting for him to catch up until he takes a tumble, rolling towards me in my direction eventually coming to a stop, he looks up at me giving off a huge smile as if he hasn't seen me in years. Shaking my head I give him a hand up "clean yourself up, numpty", Josh giggles and grabs my arm and drags me to the new families house "maybe we should introduce ourselves, Daniel?", I wondered why for a moment, but it could be fun so I agreed.

Approaching the house, we couldn't help but notice the beautiful flowers and garden ornaments, they all smell so fresh like clothing that has just been washed. We take a step up to the new family, they look straight through us as if we didn't exist "hello there, im Daniel", with no reply. I look over at the van watching the men help bring their furniture in, all of a sudden around the corner of the van, a girl looks over at me and smiles sweetly, I became dizzy and nervous, my cheeks became red, my palms sweaty and my heart raced, I felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. We walk over to her and shake her hand, trying to introducing myself my as my words became slurred and incomprehensible, "h...hi im Daniel",  we stare into each other's eyes and find ourselves lost for but a moment before Josh perks up, being his normal self, "hello there im Josh, don't mind Daniel, he gets nervous around girls hehe". She looks at Josh for a moment, clearly embarrassed and flustered, "hello my name is Jessica and im thirteen hehe" I nervously answer "im Daniel, im twelve, and Josh is also thirteen".

The three of us speak for a moment before rudely interrupted by Jessica's mother, "who are you, why are you here talking with my daughter?" Josh and I turn to each other, puzzled, "we came to introduce ourselves". Holding my hand out with a smile to be friendly only to be rejected by her walking away with a phone in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other, Jessica turns back to me and apologizes for her behavior and that she isn't much of a children's person, she shy's away for a moment.

Eventually, Jessica gets called inside by her mother, Josh and I give our goodbyes and head off, we stop for a moment as a loud slap could be heard with a sharp cry coming from inside the house. Josh shrugs it off and says "something might have fallen and broken, I wouldn't worry too much about it" but something didn't feel right, moments later Joshes phone rings, it's his mum telling him to come home, "sorry Daniel, it looks like im grounded for something", we shake hands and he heads off.

I take a walk, wondering what the noise could have been "I hope she's ok", my train of thought comes to a halt as two older kids find me near the park, "oh no! I better run for it before they give me another atomic wedgie and take my lunch money". I turn and run as fast as I can until I get a face full of fist. In a daze, it was like time slowed down when all of a sudden my head hits the ground, I black out.
