  17. Another world touched by the Abyss, it seems, but this is definitely not the one I left. I suppose it was my fascination with the Flame that led me to join the Firekeepers, though it was seemingly my firebending that truly got their attention, since I was most certainly an anomaly otherwise. And it was not nearly as easy as I might have hoped, going through such, but... it was worthwhile, I imagine. Especially considering the problems going around - bonfires were most desperately needed, and I did my part to create them and keep them stoked. For it seems the Chosen Undead came, and then... nothing. One day he simply disappeared, abandoning his duties - the day I appeared, in fact.
  18.
  19. Leaving a most treacherous world behind as it slowly died and became further corrupted.
  20.
  21. Well, someone had to do it, and even though I wasn't the Chosen, I had to find a way. Oh, I could have left the world to its stagnation, but in the end, someone has to do it. And so after I found the Old Serpent and learning the way, I traveled between the kingdoms, explaining everything. The Chosen Undead had vanished, whether through being vanquished or abandoning his mission, and they would have seek to defend themselves as things got worse. The results varied, and while I was received with mere disdain in some kingdoms, others sought to slaughter me on sight until their weapons proved ineffective and they let me speak simply because they couldn't stop me from doing so.
  22.
  23. The darkness was held at bay by a thousand fanatic warriors with otherworldly weapons, led by a woman with hair the color of fire, keeping it from spreading beyond Lordran by any means necessary. If only to buy time for me to do my work.
  24.
  25. And from there... going from place to place, finding every last Firekeeper and telling them the goal. Some were more than happy to rest and no longer shoulder the burden, while others all but refused until they learned what was truly at stake. Still others refused until they could know I was being truthful, and that handful of women traveled with me on the perilous journey. They surrendered to me only at the threshold to the Kiln, and I immolated myself within the First Flame.
  26.
  27. I was rather surprised to have survived without the need for using any esoteric abilities, but... well, finding the flame to have left its mark upon my essence WAS a rather interesting eventuality.
