PEOPLE CALL HIM A NOCTURNAL PERSON. yes, he does live his life at night to provide himself money by being a dj. it's not strange at all, but when you look closer then it'll be clearly tragic.

BYUNGKWAK and DIANINDRA do care about him, everything about him, but HANSOL has lost his care about it. he prefers to be alone, avoiding people—even SEULKYUNG, and work very hard just to make himself ‘unseen’. all of these happened because of his past, where he was completely out of mind and only cared about fame, he made a mistake: challenged a friend to race to gain popularity, expected himself to win, but he failed right before the finish lane, and had get rid of that friend by crashing his car onto his friend's—that guy died. he got called to the police and all, losing societies, got dropped out of school, and was isolating himself for a straight three years.

HANSOL begins his career as a dj four years ago, and he made new friends out there, including one or two of the ‘boys’. he likes this new atmosphere and barely goes back home or calls his parents. he cuts himself from his old self. even his family. and to bring him back to the home, trust me his parents have tried every god damn way but it failed. it makes them feel like they are not parents anymore.

　ａ）EXTREMELY INTROVERTED
SEULKYUNG is that one person who sits back at class, reading a book, stuck with her phone all alone, or just sleeping. by herself. she knows everyone and so does everyone, but they are not quite her friends. their relationship is just like two persons knowing each other's existences, with no chemistry at all. she always tries her best though, but everything is still like what it was. so she becomes shy, unmotivated, too lazy to bring a topic, too afraid to open up herself, or just to look at people's eyes while talking.

so basically? she has zero friend. yes, she is clever. yes, she is the number one at class. yes, she always gets the good grades. but no, it doesn't feel like it can make people befriend her. you know that feeling when someone is close to you just because they want to get the benefits? like, sitting next to you just to copy your homework? to SEULKYUNG, that's relatable.

it's pretty disappointing to have a social life such as hers. to have friends who just show up when they need anything from her, it sucks. and it makes her sick. like why do they need her to care? why don't they care about her? well it turns out, she has stopped complaining and doesn't care about people in real life. she has a family, she has grades, she has internet friends, so fuck reality.

　ｂ）MASSIVE REBEL
ZERO FRIENDS doesn't mean she's away from those unwanted harms. instead, SEULKYUNG thinks that standing alone is way riskier with things such as those. so she has decided to take martial arts class; taekwondo. and she becomes very rebel ever since. she believes that as long as she practices, her body and health will be normal. so she often goes out of town, travels the country with some pals, rides bikes and no sleep for two days straight, off-roads, hurts herself by exploring forests—make her body parts work extra like axing the trees, pulling out roots, fishing, or crafting.

those kind of activity —of course— grow a lot of pain. especially taekwondo, it's obvious that SEULKYUNG can be limp if she gets punched or kicked too hard, or she gets the movement wrong. also traveling, where some says it's just a waste of time and money and their body's fitness. and those kind of exploring nature, just like what SEULKYUNG likes, it's slightly dangerous. she likes to do the hard activities such as axing wood logs and spearing fishes. both of it leave a lot of scar on her hands, indeed, but she doesn't care and find it way too fun. her health is always in that ‘insecure’ meter, yet she never paid attention to it.

way more fun when years ago she fell down a small cliff; leaving bruises and scars on each inch of her body. she covered them with jackets though, just like what she's up to until now.

　ｃ）OBSESSED WITH BOOKS
SEULKYUNG's father is an author. of course this effects a lot on her. books are like her diary. no, not those kinds of cheap torn books with cliché romance story, no. books which she likes are novels, biographies, sciences, and histories. they're the perfect places for her to think about herself, to express her emotions, and to imagine. she just likes it so much when she can imagine herself seeing what's in the book—she finds it cool, having herself living in a totally different universe with a different self.

so at this point, she often spends her time at the library. even if it's just returning a book, borrowing a new book, or just sleeping, she'd never forget to visit this place. it's way better than socializing with friends at class. she loves the scent of books and the sound of turning-papers. it's not strange if you found her sleeping with four encyclopedias at a desk. and after that, she'll be home with five new books, shoving some of them to her closest friends or her father.

this is one of the reasons why she can be the number on at class with those good grades too.

　ｄ）EASYGOING BUT CAN'T SPEAK THAT WELL
SEULKYUNG is an easygoing person. she can be anywhere or anytime, just tell the date and she'll be there. because she barely has schedules though. so her days are all spare times. she enjoys any little talks, teasing someone until their faces are whole tomato red, even screaming at her idol's performances. but note this, she's only like that when she's around the people she's close with—like relatives or best friends. she barely wants to do this at school or public places.

she can win a freaking debate or speech competition, but she finds it hard to talk to people in real life. she likes conclusions and conflicts, because she'll have a time to solve things up and sharpen his intelligence. but when it comes to have a chat with some classmates, she can't speak properly. ‘inaudiblely’. she doesn't know why, even though she thinks that her voice is loud enough. and since she's uncomfortable because people at school disappoint her the most, she usually responses with nods, or smile, or gestures.

　ｅ）ACTUAL SOFTIE
TO MOST OF PEOPLE, SEULKYUNG seems like that person who can break their bones with a punch or can kill with her stare. but actually, she's nothing far from a softie. when she's around her closest persons, she doesn't hesitate herself to be extra clingy, extra talkative, extra moody, and acts like a child.

she enjoys casual things such as (a) doing homeworks together with her friends, as they eat snacks or cuddling plushies in front of the tv, (b) movie marathons, especially with those sci-fi ones so that she can ramble how genius or irrational the movies are (basically an amateur movie criticus), (c) chilling on rainy days; even if it's just reading books with coffees, sleeping through the entire day, or seeing the traffics behind a café windows.

　ｆ）SMARTYPANTS
BOOKS are never away from her. like, whenever you see her, there'll always be random readings around her. and of course, this makes her way smarter than the other classmates. it's not a phenomenon when she gets the highest score, or that one who always raise a hand to a question. she once believed that this can help her find friends, but she's wrong. all of her classmates think that she's too clever to be their friends, and find her very intimidating with her grades. and it's just nothing but a cause of her laziness to socialize.

　ａ）FAMILY
HER FATHER and MOTHER met when BYUNGKWAK traveled to indonesia. and SEULKYUNG grows from a well-too-good family. with a caring father and mother, she lives her life just like what normal people experienced. but the problem comes from her brother, HANSOL. HANSOL and his past problem have made her family look bad in society. and as someone important in publishing, a lot of people know about this from BYUNGKWAK—the news were spreading. it also reflects SEULKYUNG's life. where her father is one of her school's book publisher, the rumors of HANSOL are completely spreading through the entire grade. this somewhat make people at school look at SEULKYUNG's family as a bunch of trash who can't raise a child that well and SEULKYUNG is not good for their sociality either. there are lots of them who avoid interactions with her.

she barely meets HANSOL. she doesn't want to be someone like him either. so she tries her best to not act like him.

　ｂ）CHILDHOOD
SEULKYUNG was a very bubbly person. she often went outside, just because she admitted that being alone at home is boring, and befriended the whole neighborhood. but when HANSOL's problem came, they automatically hated her family. they blocked any contacts from her family, so SEULKYUNG stopped right away. she felt so bad after this accident, and almost gave up to socialize again. she had lost her friends, had lost his source of happiness. but then, of course, she realized that this sorrow had no point, so she has begun to forget by going on adventures.

　ｃ）ATTITUDE
SHE LIKES those dangerous things, she does. and believe this, she grows like that and have chosen that path, just because she wants to avoid the unwanted social life—aka what HANSOL used to have. from what happened to her brother, she learned. she doesn't want to be like that, to be involved in crimes, to be there inside a gang, or to hurt her memory with such an accident. she prefers wasting her time to look for new adventures, hurting herself to see how strong she is, to find her strength to prevent the 'bad things'.

and she acts like she doesn't care is not for an ‘existence’. not to have that label where she's the cliché introverted girl who fights over a bad boy and starts to like/date that person anyway, no. along with her disappointment upon people, she just wants to live as far as possible from problematic persons and their god damn punishments.

　ｄ）LIFE
SEULKYUNG was born in JAKARTA, yes, indeed. but her parents decided to move to SEOUL when she's four, to deepen her father's career, open a fresh new shop for her mother, and to look for hansol's better school. it didn't reflect that much on her friends, even though she'd lost contact a few childhood friends. and she doesn't know ‘bahasa’ very well, it's just some basic ones.

and when she went to middle school, she took fencing as her extracurricular activity. from that moment, where she learnt how to be strong, she began to love things that people don't usually like. the first thing she did is spearing a fish at a camp in middle school, where she herself was the one who clean it to death. because of this courageousness, bunch of kids wanted to be her friends. because you know what? yeah, if they faced a problem such as they couldn't find any food in the forest, SEULKYUNG would do it for them —when it meant she had to fight with a monkey over a pack of bananas.

yeah, that kind of benefit.

SEULKYUNG doesn't mind it too much, until now. as long as she likes it, it's fine.

she has joined a baking class too, since the eighth grade. she has this thought where maybe someday she will be the next owner of her mother's bakery and café, so she has to learn a little thing or two. it's not everyday, just twice a week, and this skill she has is not as good as surviving the nature.

and as someone who looks at books like a cute little baby, SEULKYUNG has joined a writing club around GANGNAM—THE BOOKWOODS CLUB. her father told this when she's in the ninth grade, and she joined it right away. this club is quite popular in korean book industries, because a lot of famous writer came from this club. usually, she goes there right after school, at five in the afternoon, together with her love interest.

AT PUBLICS, they can only show their casual selves. reading book at the library, writing stories at the club, having a simple chat at the cafeteria, chilling at the rooftop, buying ice creams on rainy days—it's basic. but when they're in her treehouse, couch, game room, or private library, they can be like a koala brother and koala sister. or sloths? there's no in between.

this is not done to hide their friendships, no. not to make it looks like a backstreet love story neither. they do it naturally. it all starts from him, and it grows in them. where they themselves just like to act simple when they're around people, and when they're alone then there's this urge to silently admire each other until they end up cringing.

he's the person who becomes the most clingy when they're alone. he can randomly stares at her while watching a phineas and ferb, and then he'll pull herself closer just to put his arms around as he says how warm she is. or out of nowhere he pats her head, rubs her back, pulls her into a tiny hug, or just nuzzles his head to her shoulders.

MAYBE HE TELLS his phobia. maybe he tells his test score. maybe he tells what's his breakfast today. but he will never and can not tell anything deeper than that. as examples, telling (a) where he actually lives, (b) who are his parents, (c) when is his birthday, or (d) is he really human or not. SEULKYUNG doesn't seem to pay attention to these points too and he doesn't know why. but seriously, he can't tell those, yet. he needs a time.

　ａ）TALKATIVE
AS HE IS ONE of her close friends, she can ramble anything to him. she can speak out a percy jackson book to him with no pause, and he'll respond it with a smile, nod, or a chuckle before commenting. she trusts him like she trusts her father—a good secret keeper—so she's okay with everything she decides to tell him. even when it comes to something really personal and dumb like what soap she is using at the moment, or how much she loves troye sivan's eyes, or where was the last place she sneezed.

　ｂ）AVOIDS SKINSHIP
IT'S NOT NUMBER ONE, but the most necessary thing to mention that SEULKYUNG hates skinship to the pluto and back. extra point because she also hates aegyo. cringe is what she feels when her skin is being touched by another; literally pukes at the feeling. so when she's around people (and/or crowds), even if it's her love interest, she'll avoid those as best as she can. well, maybe she tolerates a small hug in public; but it's a big no when it comes to an arm-wrapping. plus as a guy who likes to cling around, he is one of her problem—really.

　ｃ）eXtRa CHILDISH
WHAT SEULKYUNG LIKES is actually an affection. despite of being all tough 24/7, she's—kinda—more comfortable with being so childish, because it does make her feel loved. this includes (a) moody over little things, (b) whines too much about life, (c) sobs if she doesn't get what she wants, (d) ignores him for days if he does something wrong—even though he's apologized, and (e) talks nonsense (eg. randomly asking how many legs do a jellyfish has).

an example for sure, is this time when she asked him to study for the next test, but he refused it and he preferred sleep. so she yelled at him for a whole twenty minutes until she gave up, left the classroom, and ignored him to the next two days. yeah, he's apologized though, trust it.

　ｄ）AMBITIOUS
TALKING TO THE POINT where her love interest is (a) way too chilly and is (b) too lazy to study or just to pay attention to their teacher—only because he's already smart and everything. to be very honest, SEULKYUNG dislikes it, and always tries to hype him up.

as a girl who loves adventures, seeing her love interest lays down on bed with a coffee and a movie—makes her sick. because, yeah, she says, ❝who is the gentleman here?❞. she hates to see him wasting his time chilling, rather than exploring new challenging activities. so every time she catches him doing nothing, she'll be the one who pull him out of his comfort-nation to anywhere—somewhere with challenges, or crowds, like skateboarding or festivals. there's zero thing on this but an invitation to enjoy their teenage life—before it tragically ends up like HANSOL's.

and for the second point, she hates it too when he prefers to sleep than listening to their teacher in front of the class. she holds onto her words, ❝you leave your books, go leave your brain.❞ which is a slight sarcasm to people who ignore studying after they're smart enough. and he's one of these. plus, they're classmates. at these times, (a) when he sleeps in the middle of a lecture, SEULKYUNG will be distracting him with pencils, erasers, rulers—literally anything she can use to disturb him until he wakes up and she'll go, ❝ha! listen to your teacher, you sleepass!❞,

and (b) when he doesn't want to study even though there'll be a test tomorrow, SEULKYUNG will spam the frick out of him with messages (plus nasty emojis)—telling him study, snacks—a bet, if he wants the snacks then he needs to study, missed calls—annoying terror with: ❝stop my calls by studying, will you?❞, or the worse idea: coming over just to yell at him to study, with extra traditional music (re: beating a frying pan), and end up being scolded by his neighbors.

　❥ WOULD HE KILL OR HARM SOMEONE：YES. he will not let anybody touches her for a bad reason to the point he always tries his best to protect her. anyone who dares enough to mess around with her, will definitely see no tomorrow.

BUT SOMETIMES, he can be too arrogant. there are times where he never wants her to be close to a guy person other than him. so without notice, he can kill him that night right away—draws confusion to her at the fact that the person is gone on the next day.

BOTH OF THEM met at THE BOOKWOODS CLUB. it was months before school, the sixth year of him to study at that place, and the first year of her. they didn't know each other yet—because he's more senior and they're in two different classes—but when she was there; appearing to be a co-writer of a bestseller book in korea; he finally acknowledged her.

but everything just got clearer when they have turned out to be in the same school and the same class. even though they sat on different seats, they knew each other—as he's the one who came in with a scholarship and she's the class' secretary.

way better when they got paired up very often in group works, because their teachers think that both of them were perfect together since they stayed up to the ranks—first and second. kinda dumb, because two smarties would be too strong in a group, and the teachers should've been separating them into another group for a balance. but this is what makes them grow as close as now. they talked about all lectures together, sat next to each other, went to the library together, did the project together, and those are their story's prologue.

INSTEAD OF A COUPLE, they look a lot like brother and sister. there are these times people have captured where both of them show family-alike affections such as (a) tutoring each other, (b) making fun of each other, and (c) the most important point: protecting each other. they're always like this. none of them want the other one to get hurt or suffer, no. the thought of it makes them angry already.

but also none of them can predict the future. because this is where SEULKYUNG begins to get to know to a new guy in THE BOOKWOODS CLUB；JISUNG. this guy has nothing special with her, actually just partners in publishing a new project book—which makes them have to explore a few islands in a few weeks. but of course, the amount of time they spend together sickens her love interest.

and that time is when HANSOL finally drops home. he comes to ask for money, and their parents give him. but he says that it's not enough so he's about to do something bad to them.
