Hey its stuff

This game takes place in the land of Tenryu, a prosperous country in the far east. Right along the same area south of the coastline lies a darkened island known as the Shadowed Country.
Tenryu is pattered with bright and well-tended landscapes, kept under control by a heavily militarized and conservative government going back to an ancient and patriarchal order that keeps an almost monarchal grip on the works. Long ago the centralized order of MOMOGAMI had a political falling out with a variety of surrounding, smaller unions that resulted in a conflict that was less of a war, and more of a violent series of clashes. Previously, Tenryu was going through a bit of a reconstruction period after a great pacific war that greatly drained the country of resources. and greatly fractured whatever order was binding the land together. After the war, there was a rise in enlightened thought and more humanitarian methods as to prevent such tragedies from happening again, leading to multiple new factions popping up, but that didn't last long before the United Colonies of Vespuccia (UCV) stepped in to do all that pesky restructuring work themselves. While they were previously an enemy to Tenryu during the war, Tenryu's defeat would make the land a lucrative spot to enforce values that would greatly benefit the UCV. With the backing of the most powerful government in the known world on their side, it was no contest; All who weren't wholesale absorbed into the order of Momogami were forced to leave elsewhere, with a majority of those migrating to the Shadowed Country, or Kagegashima.



This entire first segment, still a work in progress, basically follows the Princess of Flowers daily life, leading up to her ultimately choosing to join a clan of demons from  Kagegashima in order to fill in a scripture by the guardian of the land by performing a list of good deeds to those who need it.

In the Shadowed Country, life is rough. Resources are fairly light compared to the wasteful amounts that Tenryu hordes for itself, so poverty and starvation is rampant. While there are no official rulers, something resembling a governing presence is a faction led by the demon wizard Waruzaki. Waruzaki's rule over the Shadowed Country is ordained by a number of heralds, the name bestowed upon those revered and feared enough to keep the peace around the blackened lands. In addition to being a guardian to those around them, they're also frequently tasked with stealing resources from Tenryu in a classic case of stealing from the rich to give the poor.

THE MAZOKU:
One day, Waruzaki comes into contact with the thief-witch Janine, who he knows primarily because she's the sole apprentice of the legendary warlockess Wulpurgisnacht. Janine tries to steal a few of Waru' precious items, including a forbidden magatama used to create REAL DEMONS. Janine is quickly and easily struck down by the wizard but her interest in such an item intrigues him. Janine admits that whatever she could do with such a cursed item, she'd immediately betray whatever order Waru could give her in favor of doing her own thing with it. Explaining that her goal is to steal a precious treasure from the family governing Tenryu for herself, Waru gives her the go-ahead anyway, believing that whatever she does will be for the better in the end. Confused, Janine doesnt bother rationalizing it and promptly uses the magatama to summon 3 daemonic entities from limbo, all risen from the dead under the common thread of meeting their demise at the hands of the Momogami. Together, they formed the Mazoku tribe.

The Mazoku don't get along very well at first, but eventually they all settle under the common but loose goal of trying to get rid of their curses. While at first they plan to accomplish this via random acts of villainy and/or taking revenge on the Momogami family, their unspecified antics eventually awaken the great guardian of Tenryu himself....Tenryu (as in the Heaven's Dragon). Dragons in this world are the closest thing to a tangible manifestation of god, and only few have actually seen one with their own eyes. Feeling angered that such a powerful guardian could allow such atrocities to happen, Turtle lashes out and attacks the dragon, only to get easily struck down via getting stuck under a boulder.
Janine, being more cunning, makes a deal with the great dragon of Tenryu to go on an adventure throughout the land in order to fill in a scripture known as the Heaven's Journal in exchange for their curses being lifted. The Heaven's Journal would fill itself out upon performing a pre written list of good deeds for various people spread across the land. And thus, the journey begins.


Turtle/Tsubagame: An imposing turtle-like humanoid, upon being summonned, he gave his name as "Tsubagame", but Janine declared his new name to just be "Turtle" for simplicity. Once a normal unassuming river turtle living amongst a community of life in a spring under a waterfall, Turtle's demise came over a gradual period during the Momogami's careless destruction of nature. In addition to his more imposing form, he also frequently takes a much smaller, cutsey form of about 3 feet. This is his true form, with the imposing monster form largely existing due to a curse, but he learns to control both fairly quickly.
His true curse, however, is being averse to water. As a symbolic reminder of the downfall of his local population to water pollution, any water he comes into contact with will result in a painful burning sensation that feels like constant hornet stings. The only way he can drink water or bathe without this effect is to squeeze the juice of an entire Yonder fruit into his drink, a bitter and displeasing fruit used primarily in medicines.

Hammer-Man: An even bigger and heavier figure, the Hammer-Man (Man being spelled as "demon"+n in kanji) is a muscular and stout man with a head that looks like a cross between a shark and a hammer (but not like a hammerhead shark, which bugs people to no end). In addition to being a literal hammer head, he also wields a giant sledgehammer for good measure. Once an ordinary, hard-working family man, the hammer man joined an attempted labour union that protested against the unfair regulations set by the government. The union got into a violent clash initiated by some Tenryu Samurai led by the legendary officer Shogo Ryuuhou, which resulted in all the present members being killed, thus the union was no longer a thorn in the Momogami's side.

Rokuhan: a lithe plant monster-man, Rokuhan is an expert swordsman. Once a bandit, he put aside his old ways to become a Tenryu Samurai to fight for everlasting peace. Of course, this led him to commit increasingly atrocious acts under the excuse of "following orders", which distressed him greatly. Thus, he started breaking orders more and more in secret; This secrecy couldn't last forever though, as one day he got caught letting a band of young convicts escape captivity. Knowing it'd be impossible for him to win trial, he fought off being held captive himself, leading to his demise.
Rokuhan keeps it 300 like the romans; calm, cool, and collected; firmly straight laced compared to the other Mazoku.

MOMOGAMI FAMILY

Grandmaster Shakunetsu: The head patriarch of the Momogami lineage, Shakunetsu is a tall and handsome man in an elaborate regal coat and long flowing locks. He's something of a showman, and is always seen outside his abode with an all star team of performers and bodyguards to mark his presence. He's fond of classical noh theatre and opera.

Grandmaiden Shizuku: Loving wife to Shakunetsu and the first lady of the Momogami estate. The real political brains behind Tenryu's operations, she tends to work in the shadows while Shakunetsu stays in the spotlight.



Shogo Ryuuhou: A commanding officer for Momogami's army, Ryuuhou is the Momogami family's strongest fighter by far, and has been fiercely conditioned to be the model adonis for the ideal Tenryu soldier. Strongly nationalist, traditionalist, and brutal, Ryuuhou commands an oppressive presence. In addition to pushing a nationalist agenda on behalf of Tenryu's government, she's also responsible for the deaths of many, including Hammer-man and his union.

Prince of Light/Shinzo Momogami: The sole male descendant of Shakunetsu, Shinzo has been conditioned since birth to take the throne and has been far favored by the family due to its patriarchal order. Considered a young and brilliant prodigy, Shinzo is especially beloved by the public for his boyish looks and clean outward persona. On the inside however, Shinzo not only believes he's unqualified for the role compared to his sisters, but he also strongly resents the men around him for burying a case of sexual assault against a female handmaiden, which pressured her into taking her life. Secretly harboring a hatred for all men in power, his goal is not to take the throne, but rather destroy the Momogami rule from inside out, and cause as much pain and suffering as possible to those who protect its patriarchal order.

Mako Momogami: One of the head bodyguards of the Momogami estate, Mako is cool and collected, and has ceaselessly trained in multiple forms of combat. Despite looking scary, she's ultimately kind at heart, and has a soft spot for her younger brother Shinzo especially.

Geki Nozomu: Retainer, who cares

Princess of Heart/Yae Momogami: Of the four daughters to Grandmaster Shakunetsu, Heart has seen the limelight the most, being a skilled singer and dancer who lives a life as one of the most popular idols in Tenryu when out in public. From within the walls of the Momogami castle however, she's a bit of a bossy spoiled brat.
