- Description: The group decided to rob a gas station and entered a gas station in Independence,MO, where Robert was inside with his 8-year-old stepdaughter Sarah. Taylor, a felon on parole for murder, pulled out a gun and ordered him to put all of the money in a bag. Willie Owens took the money out to the car while Taylor ordered Robert and Sarah into the back room. Robert pleaded not to be killed in front of his stepdaughter, but Taylor put the gun to his forehead anyway and pulled the trigger, killing him. He then pointed the gun at Sarah, who put her hands up and asked not to be shot, before Taylor pulled the trigger. The gun jammed, so Taylor locked Sarah in the room and fled back to the car, where he asked his accomplices if there was another gun to finish the job. They denied his request and drove off, with Taylor telling them later on “I should have choked the b****!”
