Indrajit knew Hanuman could not be killed. So on an arrow he put a mantra that can be sent but once at anyone, and never sent again. He shot the spell of Shiva's noose, and Hanuman fell to the ground tied invisibly hand and foot and unable to move.

But before Indrajit could reach him or speak, other Rakshasas ran from hiding and in the blink of an eye they had tightly locked Hanuman in chains. Indrajit bit his lip and sighed. For the binding force of Shiva's noose will never hold nor return, when there is any other bond laid over it.
