- The people there brought it about that the giant began to strike Lancelot in order to move him to anger. And because Lancelot saw that the giant was treating him badly, he could not restrain himself but exerted all of his strength, took him by his two arms, and began to carry him through the hall, in spite of his resistance. When he had carried him to the windows, which were very high, he threw him to the ground from their height so that the giant broke his neck and limbs as he hit the ground. Lancelot did this deed in madness, as the true history, which never lies, bears witness.
