+Reality Analyst __ You might be right. Though how would a person falsify the "flat Earth" idea without also trusting/appealing to some kind of "expert" (who would be a "biased" anti flat Earther)? It's my understanding that each objection to the "flat Earth" has a convincing/persuasive "explanation" (at least to a person who had lost trust/faith in "mainstream science" etc.) - for example "ships over the horizon" is due to "perspective" and not curvature. The fact we cannot see far away countries through a telescope is due to the atmosphere. That the "Moon appearing both upright and upside down" to two observers separated by sufficient distance can also be possible if the Moon is a flat disc etc. Is there a simple falsification that does not have some kind of clever response (and does not reply on trust/appealing to an "expert")?
