  1. We would like to put on record our position in relation to the criticism generated following our win at Startup Live #17 and our talk at 4GAMECHANGERS conference.
  2.
  3. About HUSSY.io
  4. HUSSY.io is concerned with the prevention of human trafficking and minimizing the spreading of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The value proposition is to create a platform and to provide incentives for sex workers around the globe for safe execution of their profession. We have identified that the root cause of most problems associated with sex work lies in a social stigma toward the participants, leading to a contradicting discrepancy between the need for privacy and trustworthiness. The solution we offer provides anonymized but verifiable KYC compliance, professional health certification and Proof of Consent stored on the Blockchain.

  6. About SEX WORK
  7. Sex is the most natural thing that a human being can engage in. We are not supporting any kind of oppression or exploitative work. There are many reasons why people decide to sell sexual services. Some choose to do sex work because it offers better pay and more flexible working conditions than other jobs. Others pursue sex work to explore and express their sexuality. And some do sex work as a result of circumstances like poverty or lack of other options. Regardless of the reasons, in an open society, sex workers should have the same rights to occupational health and safety as other workers.
  8. In HUSSY.io, we believe in a future, where all women are in control of their own sexuality, including consensual exchange of money for sex with ability to set a fair price, timing and circumstances of the sexual act. Furthermore, sex work not only empowers women, but it provides women with greater opportunities for financial advancement. Women who have chosen to enter the sex work should not be looked down upon and should not have their choice considered to be lesser than another type of socially accepted employment. The still-present social stigma in society towards sex workers and their clients is the root cause of many problems associated with the sex work.

  10. About OUR MARKETING STRATEGY
  11. We are fully aware that we have touched a controversial topic and that many people are avoiding to openly discus this topic. An open and factual discussion can contribute to solve the problems of this industry.
  12. However, only discussing problems is not enough to fully solve the problems. We have decided to solve these problems by creating a decentralized escorting infrastructure with 3rd party due diligence and listings platform that will be safe by design. Besides the pure technical realization, strong incentives for our customers are equally important. Since our primary customers are sex workers and their clients, we must also adjust our marketing strategy in order to make our product attractive for this target group. This involves using sexually-provoking content and branding, influencers from sex/porn industry, brand ambassadors and advisors from adult industry.
  13.
  14. About the missing or not updated information on our website / whitepaper
  15. We are currently in an idea/concept stage. We are still very far from the product launch (which is planned for Q1 2019) and it is unreasonable from us to expect to have a production-ready materials on our website at this stage.
  16. We are building the community simultaneously while developing the MVP -- with this approach, we can engage with and listen to the feedback from the community (especially from sex workers and their clients, the crypto community, but also from general public). There will be an updated version of the whitepaper and the website published in the following days with full a description of all team members and without any “Lorem Ipsum” sections that undermine the trust in our team members and their backgrounds.
  17.
  18. About the recent storm on SOCIAL MEDIA
  19. The aggression, emotiveness, discrimination, rough language or even threats we received on the Facebook does not help to solve any problems. We are fully open to an intelligent and factual discussion regarding the sex work and how to effectively solve problems in this industry. For those who are offended by our brand, we welcome your suggestions on how to further improve and finetune HUSSY.io branding.
  20. Even though we don’t think that the demographics of our team is significantly different from an average technical startup in Europe, we are trying to build a diverse and inclusive team that consists of people of different races and genders.
