  1. >The second you wake up in morning you immediately feel it, a tightness in you back that makes getting out of bed a painful experience, Sammy and Lulu greet you with twin smiles but the feeling of dread in your stomach makes it hard to return, and despite Lulu having prepared a wonderful breakfast all you can do is pick at it as the feeling that something horrible is going to happen today swirls in your guts.
  2. >The drive to work is quicker than normal, as the usually busy traffic is shockingly light, but this only serves to make the twisting feeling of dread in your stomach worse.
  3. >You clock in, and nod to some of your co-workers as you approach your office, picking up you schedule you give it a quick glance over only to blink at the first Stress Test you're doing today, one for a custom model.
  4. >That simply wasn't right, you were a General Stress Tester, lacking the Advanced Robotics Degree that was required to test the much more expensive custom models and remove their Black Box afterwards.
  5. >You could certainly do it thanks to your training from Agustus, but you weren't supposed to.
  6. >But then you read what the Stress Testing entails, and your pupils turn to pinpicks as you do
  7. >'Thirty strikes to the head with an industrial Sledge Hammer, fifteen strikes to the midsection with a steel toed boot, removal of the right optic with a crowbar, and induction of water damage into optical slot.'
  8. >You're hyperventilating, your heart is pounding in your chest as you read over the parameters over and over again.
  9. >This was everything that had been done to Lulu, and the only people who'd know what was done to her were you, your mentor, and whoever had done all those horrible things to her in the first place.
  10. >This has to be a coincidence, some sick cosmic joke. You'd open the door to your office and there would be some fancy custom nandoid you'd never seen before, it wasn't going to be Lulu, there was no way in hell it could be your Sweet Thing.
  11. >You were wrong.
  12. >Sitting on a stool that so many Nandroid and Maidbots had died on, was a doppelganger of the only reason you haven't killed yourself yet, a mindless expression on her face which is lacking the crack you'd come to know so very well.
  13. >Her dress is pristine, lacking the stitches you'd put into the tears so that she'd have something to wear until you could buy her something new, the one she still wore to this day because despite not being perfect that hand done stitching reminded her that you cared.
  14. >Blood pounds in your ears as you look at her, so similar but yet a world apart from the Maidbot that tied your tie every morning and wrote adorable notes on your lunches.
  15. >She lacks the faint traces of worry in Lulu's expressions, she doesn't nervously play with her hair in the way you find oh so very cute, she just sits there, still as a statue until she notices you looking at her from the Doorway.
  16. >There's no relief in her expression as she sees you, the worry doesn't vanish from her face at the sight of you, she doesn't move to smooth out wrinkles on her dress that aren't there and her cheek panels don't light up in joy as she looks at you.
  17. >It's almost uncanny looking at her, this shiny pristine Lulu that isn't Lulu. You vaguely feel sick.
  18. >She stands up and mechanically curtsies in a robotic manner, completely lacking in any personality or flare that you'd expect.
  19. >You sit across from her in a daze as she sits back down
  20. >The Maidbot sitting across from you stares at you in confusion, still not fiddling with her black braid, her blue optics shining.
  21. >"uh, Greetings! My name is Lucy!" she says, trying to start a conversation only to flinch back as a thunderous expression rips across your face and you storm out of your office, slamming the door behind you.
  22. >You stalk the halls to the Advanced testing department.
  23. >"Ah, Anon, what are you doing here?" A mousy voice asks, only to let out a terrified 'eep' as you round on them with a murderous expression.
  24. >Leonora Duval presses herself against the wall in terror at the murderous expression on your face, you honestly have no idea how the easily spooked girl got into the Stress Testing Detarpartment and at the moment you're so beyond furious you can't bring yourself to care.
  25. >"Who the fuck sent that Custom Model to my office to be Stress Tested" you growl furiously, bearing your teeth threateningly and just barely resisting the urge to violently pin the tiny woman before you to the wall.
  26. >"Wh-what do you mean, you didn't have a Custom on you schedule today!?" she fearfully squeaks, only growing more terrified as your expression darkens further.
  27. >Because at that moment you realize something.
  28. >There's only a single person with the means and motive to send an exact replica of your Lulu to you, someone with the connections to have a Custom placed on you docket.
  29. >Tobias.
  30. >"I'm going to kill him" you hiss, turning on a heel and storming away from the still terrified Leonora, unaware of her running off to warn a superior that you have more likely than not have snapped.
  31. >Everything is a Blur as you make your way to the Outmode Requisitions Department, and before you know it you're throwing open the door hard enough that it loudly bangs on the wall.
  32. >And there he is, smirking at the sight of you with a cup of coffee in his hand.
  33. >You approach the rat in human skin, his lips are moving but you're so beyond angry that they don't register.
  34. >You grab the smug little fuck and slam him against the nearest wall, only making him grin wider.
  35. >"How did you know how Lulu was damaged" You seethe furiously, fully prepared to put Tobias through the fucking wall if you don't like his answer.
  36. >The bastard has the gall to laugh at you before he answers.
  37. >"Who do you think did it to her in the first place?" he snarks.
  38. >The confirmation of your fears only makes your rage worse.
  39. >"I bet every moment she's with you she's still thinking about serving m-" You smash his face with your fist
  40. >Tobias hits the floor and lays there for a second, before beginning to prop himself back up.
  41. >You kick him in the chest and he goes back down.
  42. >Another kick flips him onto his back and before you know it you're raining down blows on his face as he tries in vain to escape your fury
  43. >Someone screams as his nose crunches under your fist, you don't care.
  44. >Your knuckles split open as you continue to relentlessly beat him, you don't care.
  45. >People are trying to pull you off of him, you don't care.
  46. >Finally, you've had enough.
  47. >You climb off of him, perfectly content.
  48. >Tobias' face is going to be a mass of bruises, His eyes have swollen shut and you appear to have punched out several of his teeth, but if the pained weeping coming out of his mouth is any indication, he'll probably live, unfortunate.
  49. >"If You ever come near Lulu or I again, I'll make you wish that I'd killed you" you say coldly, before ambling off in a daze.
  50. >As soon as you're out the doors of the Requisitions Department you get tacked to the ground by security, but it's more uncomfortable than painful even as they force your arms behind you back and cuff them.
  51. >As you're dragged out of the building and handed over to the police you say nothing.
  52. >Not a word leaves your lips as you're read your rights.
  53. >You're comfortably numb.
  54. >Until Lulu's worried face drifts into your mind, and that numbness is replaced by realization.
  55. >and then, terror over how this could effect Lulu and Sammy sets in.
  56. >"oh no" you say, realizing how horribly you've fucked up.
  57. >You know who you have to call at the Police station.
  58. >Maryanne's gonna kill you when she finds out.
