  1. >”You!” Trixie shouts to Pinkie Pie, who stands in the rim of the town square, just between two buildings. “Trixie thought she disposed of you!”
  2. >”I am not trash!”
  3. >”In my town, you are less than trash!”
  4. >”Hey!”
  5. >”And this time, you won’t be slipping away so easily!”
  6. >”Okay, but don’t spank Rarity!”
  7. >”Pinkie Pie!” Rarity wails.
  8. >”Silence!” Trixie wheels around to face you and Rarity. “And I told YOU to paddle this mare until she’s bleeding! If you waste any more time, I’ll—“ Trixie is silenced as a large red water balloon collides with her face and bursts upon contact.
  9. >Her face dripping with water, she slowly turns back towards Pinkie Pie who is wielding another.
  10. >”You… how… how DARE you!”
  11. >Trixie wastes no time in charging a beam of red magic and shooting at Pinkie Pie. Pinkie drops the balloon and attempts to dodge the attack, but she has no time to move and the beam strikes before she can move out of the way.
  12. >A massive dusty explosion occurs, sending small bits of debris everywhere and thickening up the air with dust.
  13. >The dust doesn’t even clear before Trixie bellows an evil laugh.
  14. >”She was a fool to come back! And let this serve as a lesson! If you oppose The Great and Powerful Trixie, you will suffer the ultimate con—… con…”
  15. >Trixie’s voice falters as the dust clears and a poofy silhouette can be seen in the spot Trixie hit.
  16. >Trixie lets out a growl before casting a spell to blow away the dust with a strong gust of wind, revealing Pinking Pie standing over a large hole in the ground.
  17. >”Phew, that was a close one!” Pinkie steps away from the hole, wipes sweat off her brow and puts on a smile like she wasn’t almost killed.
  18. >All around you the crowd erupts into cheer, which Trixie immediately silences. She then fires off another blast in Pinkie’s direction without warning.
  19.
  20. >Pinkie leaps away quite easily, but Trixie is hot on her tail. All while sitting on her throne, Trixie fires several shots of magic at Pinkie, each missing by only a hair.
  21. >There’s a collective gasp when one manages to hit right below Pinkie Pie and send her flying backwards, right into the side of a building. A loud gasp of pain can be heard from her as she hits the brick and mortar, then she falls limp to the ground.
  22. >And it finally registers with you.
  23. >During the entire time Trixie has been in control of Ponyville, she hasn’t tried to put anyone in a lot of pain or even come close to killing someone.
  24. >But since a few weeks ago, she’s changed.
  25. >Forcing you into servitude, making an example of Rarity, and now it looks like she’s trying to put Pinkie out of commission. Permanently.
  26. >You get it.
  27. >The situation isn’t going to improve, and you’re right in the middle of all this.
  28. >And you can do something to stop it. You don’t know what, but it’s time to start trying.
  29. >Pinkie Pie lets out a weak moan and attempts to get back on her hooves but fails.
  30. >”You… big… meanie!”
  31. >Trixie smirks at Pinkie, before stomping on her throne.
  32. >”Bring me closer to her.”
  33. >There’s a collective groan as the pegasi lift the throne back up and slowly carry it closer to Pinkie Pie.
  34. >The murmuring of the crowd quickly grows louder but Trixie is ignoring it for the time being.
  35. >”YOU are quite possibly the most frustrating pony to plague my little kingdom. I don’t understand how you reversed my spell, and evaded my attacks, but even a pony as annoyingly clever as you cannot beat Trixie. In fact…” Trixie glances behind her, seeing the crowd of terrified ponies. “Perhaps Trixie will make an example of you.”
  36. >Cries of protest echo throughout the crowd.
  37.
  38. >”Silence!” In one swift motion, Trixie whips her head back towards Pinkie as her horn ignites in magic. A red aura surrounds Pinkie and lifts her off the ground, slowly bringing her higher and higher. She’s pressed against the wall where the lets out a squeal of pain, prompting more anger from the crowd.
  39. >No, fuck this. You can’t sit by and watch everything get worse.
  40. “Rarity.” You whisper. “What do I do?”
  41. >She doesn’t respond.
  42. >You look down at her.
  43. >She’s crying. A lot.
  44. “Rarity!”
  45. >”I don’t know!”
  46. “Fuck!”
  47. >Without putting thought into your actions, you take the butt of the paddle and slam in down on the padlock keeping the pillory closed. It does nothing but you ready another strike.
  48. >”That won’t work! Help Pinkie Pie!”
  49. “The plan—“
  50. >”Forget the plan!”
  51. >You bite your lip and look back at an obviously pained Pinkie. Rarity’s right. You drop the paddle and get ready to hop off the stage, but a series of screams and gasps coming from the crowd stops you in your tracks. An angry Mr. Cake emerges from the crowd, charging straight for Trixie. Everyone cheers for him to finally put Trixie in her place, but she notices him immediately.
  52. >Trixie breaks her spell on Pinkie to handle the charging stallion. Just as he nearly reaches Trixie’s throne, Trixie conjures a large slingshot right in front of him. Mr. Cake runs straight into the rubber band at full speed. It stretches for about ten feet before it stops, then sends Mr. Cake flying back in the direction he came. He tumbles and skids across the grass and gravel at high speeds, knocking over ponies in his path before colliding headfirst with a lamp post.
  53. >”Dear!” You hear Mrs. Cake wail over the noise of the crowd.
  54. >She gallops away to her husband while Trixie stares at her, letting out a victorious little chuckle before turning towards Pinkie again.
  55.
  56. >Except, she’s gone. Nowhere to be seen.
  57. >”What? W-where did the pink one go! Tell me!” She demands of the ponies. “Tell me where she is or you suffer the same fate she would have!”
  58. >This inspires little fear into the crowd. Now, it’s mostly anger.
  59. >Anger from the months of enslavement. Months of her manipulating and controlling the ponies. And now for finally causing great harm to two beloved ponies.
  60. >They don’t back down, they only get louder and advance upon Trixie.
  61. >”What are you doing?! Tell Trixie at once! And step back!”
  62. >The pegasi carrying her fly a few feet back before dropping the throne and either flying away or joining the crowd.
  63. >”I said step… BACK!” Trixie’s horn sparks to life once again, creating a large bubble barrier around her that the ponies immediately slam their bodies against in an attempt to get her.
  64. >Screams of, “Get her!” and “Stop Trixie!” can be heard through the incoherent yelling.
  65. >And you find yourself standing on the stage, doing nothing once again.
  66. >You turn to Rarity, who looks at you with a pleading look. If you’re going to free her, now’s your chance. You pick the paddle back up and try to hit the padlock once again, but something latches on to your sleeve.
  67. >Looking back to it, you see a red mist surrounding your right bicep.
  68. “Shit…”
  69. >The magic reaffirms its grip before yanking you directly towards the bubble. You pass through like it’s water as ponies slam their bodies against the surface once again.
  70. >You make a hard landing on the grass next to Trixie, and she quickly wraps a foreleg around your neck.
  71. >”We have to get out of here.”
  72. >Trixie’s red magic flashes before your eyes, and in the time it takes to blink, you and Trixie are somewhere else.
  73. >The town hall!
  74.
  75. >You quickly scoot away from Trixie and hop to your feet.
  76. >Your blood and mind are equally racing, what to do, what to say. The game has changed. You can’t be Trixie’s charge or servant anymore.
  77. “Trixie! You…”
  78. >Looking at her now, she looks positively defeated, for the moment. Weak. Vulnerable, even.
  79. >”… I-it was bound to happen.”
  80. >She closes her eyes and her head droops downward.
  81. >”Trixie only needs to wait until they calm down, then they will be afraid of her. That’s all.”
  82. >She clears her throat and regains her composure. She looks at you with a commanding expression.
  83. >”Make yourself comfortable in Trixie’s bedroom within the next half hour. She will be needing something new from you.”
  84. >You resist every urge to blurt out, ‘WHAT’ but you’re gritting your teeth to stop yourself from saying that, and a lot more.
  85. >”Trixie is going to have herself a meal. Don’t you dare be late.”
  86. >She trots off towards the kitchen and disappears inside.
  87. >With her gone, the hall falls silent aside from your heavy breathing.
  88. >You look around the room. The marble, the steel, the glass. Everything about Trixie’s town hall. You hate it. You miss the rustic feel of the old town hall. The shoddy wooden structure, the lovely tan and brown colors. They were so much better.
  89. >You hate this town hall. You hate this town.
  90. >You hate Trixie.
  91. “Fuck this…”
  92.
  93. >Five minutes later, you’re at your home. The spa, your temporary home you mean. The ‘uniform’ Trixie gave to you is in the trash, and you’re finally in a comfortable pair of jeans and a black sweater.
  94. >You leave the spa and instantly head in the direction of where everything took place this morning. The streets are abandoned for the most part. Ponies seem to be huddled inside buildings, silently looking at you as you pass.
  95. >The pillory comes into view and it’s quite clearly shattered into pieces. Whatever hit it, hit it hard.
  96. >You suspected this was probably going to happen and you instantly turn in the direction of your next destination, Sugarcube Corner.
  97. >It’s a short walk there, and just from outside you can see a gathering of ponies, and Flutterbear of course.
  98. >You breathe a sigh of relief and enter the building. Everyone looks in your direction with mixed emotions.
  99. >Ponies such as Lyra, Mayor Mare and Carrot top eye you with dissent. But Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash give you varying degrees of welcoming stares.
  100. >Rarity’s neck and fetlocks still look matted from the pillory. Rainbow Dash looks like she’s about to faint, and Applejack looks lost in thought.
  101. >The room remains in an awkward silence for a minute as you walk towards your friends on the far side of the room. As you get close, Rarity mouths a quiet, “Hello, dear.” Dash just nods and Applejack’s attention is elsewhere.
  102. “Hey…” Your voice is just a whisper. “Are you all okay?”
  103. >”I’m fine, darling. Things escalated before anything bad could have happened to me.”
  104. “Good, good. Dash?”
  105. >”The sun is up and I ain’t carrying that hunk of gold Trixie makes us carry around. It’s a pretty good day for me so far.”
  106. “Great. Um… How’s Mr. Cake?”
  107.
  108. >You’re led upstairs to where Mr. Cake is said to be resting. Rarity opens the door for you, revealing a small room with a bed tucked away in the corner. You see Mrs. Cake huddling over a lump under the bedsheets, and Pinkie Pie sitting right next to her.
  109. “Pinkie?”
  110. >She looks at you, and then a great smile spreads across her face. A smile you’ve missed for a long time.
  111. >”Anon!? Oh my gosh!”
  112. >She scampers away from Mrs. Cake towards you, and you meet her halfway for the greatest hug you’ve had in years.
  113. >You hold her tight, and the memories of earlier today play back in your mind. Your eyes begin to water up almost instantly at the though.
  114. >”Anon?” She pushes away. “Are you okay?”
  115. >You wipe away a tear before it has a chance to fall from your eye.
  116. “I was… scared, today. Shit, I’m sorry. I don’t know where this came from.”
  117. >You try to cover your eyes with a hand, but Pinkie stops your hand with a hoof.
  118. >Then you finally get a good look at her.
  119. >Mud is buried in her hair and mane, a few scratches here and there. But the mildly singed hair on her belly looks new.
  120. >You shut your eyes and go in for another hug. You hold her tightly for another minute before you finally pull away.
  121. “So, I gotta know. How’d you get your mouth back?”
  122. >”Oh, I got help!”
  123. “From?”
  124. >Pinkie walks towards her closet, humming a tune while the entire room watches her.
  125. >She swings open the closet door, revealing Twilight Sparkle trying to hide herself with a coat.
  126. “Twilight!”
  127. >”Ugh, Pinkie! I told you not to tell him I’m here! He might be Trixie’s indoctrinated slave!”
  128. “I’m not a slave, Twi. I just got out of there and I’m not going back. I’m here to help now.”
  129. >”Yeah, Twilight! He’s our friend, not Trixie’s friend!”
  130.
  131. >”That sounds like something an indoctrinated slave would say!”
  132. “Twilight. Stop. After today… I just can’t take this anymore. I can’t go with our unsure plan of waiting for the opportunity to do something. We need to do something, after we’ve had time to rest.”
  133. >Twilight glares at you for a moment before shaking the coat off of her and walking out of the closet.
  134. >”That won’t work. If you’re telling the truth, Trixie will come looking for you.”
  135. >Shit, she’s right. Especially after the command Trixie gave you, she’ll be angry not to see you there.
  136. “Then… I don’t know, Twilight. I’m fucking mad. I’m so fucking mad, Twilight!” You begin raising your voice. “The last few months have been hell and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop Trixie!”
  137. >Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Mrs. Cake giving you ‘a look’.
  138. “Don’t you look at me like that! Everyone knows I got abused less by Trixie, but do you know how much it killed me to watch all of my friends get hurt while I was treated special? That look you’re giving me? It cuts deep, so fucking knock it off, because I guarantee that when Trixie got back to her room and noticed I wasn’t there to knock boots, she began planning out some sort of punishment far worse than she’s ever dealt out. But, fuck it! Because it cannot be worse than being forced to hurt my friends with a fake smile on my face! So, whatever. Just don’t you fucking look at me like that!”
  139. >A heavy silence lingers as all eyes are focused on you. Even Applejack and Rainbow Dash have up to see what was going on.
  140. >Only now, as you feel the heat leaving your face and your breath grow shallow do you realize you were yelling.
  141. >And of course, Pinkie has to be the first to break the awkward silence.
  142. >”You and Trixie were going to do what now?”
  143.
  144. >Everyone looks at Pinkie, then back to you.
  145. >You have to place your hand on your hips and shake your head.
  146. “She implied it at least. That’s not the point though. I want out, I want this to end.”
  147. >”We all do, Anon. And we’re finally going to do something about it.”
  148. >Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash all enter the room and close the door behind them. They make themselves comfortable around the room.
  149. >Twilight glares at you one last time before looking towards Applejack.
  150. >”Are you sure we can trust him? No offense, Anon, but you were working very closely to Trixie for a while.”
  151. >”Sure as shoot, we can. I already told ya that we’ve been plannin’ Anon being at Trixie’s side for a long time now. I wouldn’t trust anyone else more at Trixie’s side than him.”
  152. >”Well, that’s one heck of a vote of confidence. Alright, Anon. Get comfortable.”
  153. >You choose to sit next to Pinkie Pie on the floor, who promptly snuggles up against you. God, you really missed Pinkie. You wrap an arm around Pinkie and gently run your fingers through her mane as Twilight pulls sheets of cardboard paper and crayons out of the kitchen she was in a minute earlier.
  154. >Twilight takes her time to doodle several things down as the rest of you soak in the quiet. You missed these moments before Trixie brought you in, and suddenly you realize how exhausting she was as well. Always demanding yelling. Another drop in the shit bucket for Trixie, though.
  155.
  156. >After about ten minutes, Twilight lifts the papers with magic and clears her throat to get everyone’s attention.
  157. >”As you all know, I’ve been coming into Ponyville several times over the past few months in attempt to get rid of Trixie. All of my attempts… unsuccessful.”
  158. >Twilight actually blushes and averts her gaze for a moment over this.
  159. >”But, what I wanted to talk about was how I got in and out of Ponyville.” Twilight pins the first paper to the wall. It’s a picture of Twilight and Trixie talking with the town’s barrier inbetween them. “Sometimes, I would challenge her to a rematch.” She posts another one, this time one with Twilight phasing her body through the barrier. “I would make up spells that would let me pass through the barrier, which Trixie would guard against that particular spell after she defeated me. And,” She posts a picture of her teleporting from one side to another. “I also tried teleporting. It worked, but I was always too drained to do fight afterwards. But,” Twilight crumples up every paper. “All those methods only helped me get in. When the Celestia and the Royal guard came, they couldn’t penetrate the barrier for days. Celestia even had to use an enormous amount of energy to shatter it, only for it to be recovered less than twenty seconds later. The Princess was in no condition to reclaim the town after that. So, I had to think to myself, how can I get around that barrier? I can’t go through, and I can’t go over. Not without draining myself or negotiating with Trixie at least. So, what’s left? Under!” Twilight slaps a picture of herself digging with a shovel. “Of course I never thought about grabbing a shovel, because I knew of a better way.”
  160.
  161. >”The sewers! I almost forgot about the sewer runoffs coming out of town.”
  162. “Eugh.”
  163. >”Don’t get me started. But, at least there was a way in without crawling through a small drainage pipe. I was able to trot in comfortably without getting my hooves too dirty. I wandered around the dark sewers, getting lost at least three times, and that’s where I found…” Twilight slaps a new paper on the wall, one showing Twilight and Pinkie Pie hugging. “Pinkie! She was covered in Celestia knows what, mouthless, cold, scared and starving. This was a little over a month ago, and since then I’ve been working on making a spell to recover her mouth. I was finally able to get her full face back to normal last week.”
  164. >Pinkie smiles wide then presses a hoof to her snout.
  165. >It honks.
  166. >Okay.
  167. >”Once Pinkie finally got her mouth back, she said… well, she said a lot.”
  168. >”Not being able to talk for a long time does that to you!”
  169. >”But for some reason, I got stuck on, ‘Trying to find a way out through the sewers.’ And I slapped myself many, many times for not thinking about this.”
  170. >Twilight begins to pace with one last paper hanging in her magical grip.
  171. >”This entire time, I’ve been coming into Ponyville to battle Trixie, but I’ve been foolish. I ignored the problems of the ponies. I shouldn’t have been focusing on trying to remove Trixie, but… trying to get the ponies out of Ponyville!”
  172.
  173. >Twilight slaps the last paper on the wall, this one being the most detailed of them all. It shows a distinct path in what looks like a labyrinth.
  174. >”We need to start smuggling ponies out of here before it’s too late, but we can’t do a ton all at once. We have to do it a small chunk at a time. I’m sure Trixie is too wrapped up in herself to notice a few ponies disappearing every day.”
  175. “I can vouch for that.”
  176. >”Good. Now, the first thing we need to do is go down into the sewers,” Rarity cringes. “And place lanterns along the designated path so the escaping ponies can find their way out. It being so dark is why Pinkie got lost, and if I didn’t use magic for light the same would have happened to me. Then, we need a few ponies to determine what families need to leave the most. The Cakes for sure.” Everyone looks to the motionless lump in the bed that is Mr. Cake. “He needs help, and we can get him out of here tonight. Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and their children. Fluttershy too so someone can turn her back. I would like to get Ms. Redheart help too, but the town needs her too badly.”
  177. >”I’ll get the kids ready.”
  178. >”We’re not ready yet. I’m sure Trixie is on the hunt for Anon right now, and we can’t afford to get caught. Especially when our entrance is in an alley near Town Hall. And this leaves me to my last point. Anon,” She looks to you. “You have a very important job.”
  179. >You freeze up. You have a terrible feeling about this.
  180. >”We need to you keep Trixie distracted.”
  181. “... Don’t tell me I have to go back to her…”
  182. >”I hate to say this, but the longer you can keep her inside doing whatever it is she want to do with you, the faster we can save Ponyville.”
