  71. Gria Geomancer: are nothing compared to random wildlife
  72. Gria Geomancer: you gotta make a fort save
  73. Haretsu: « 1d20+3 = 13 + 3 = 16 » fuck

  100. Haretsu: coulda used help there
  101. Jandar: Hey I might've if I were statted
  102. Jandar: but my stats walked off without me
  103. Haretsu: So yeah
  104. Haretsu: what have we learned here today
  105. Jandar: « 5d6 = 18 » good chance it would not have KO'd them though
  106. Jandar: oh hey, it woulda
  107. Jandar: woulda nearly killed you too
  108. Haretsu: "A level 1 not-quite spellcaster not-quite melee fighter not-quite anything at all really cannot take on two CR 1 monsters by himself"
  109. Haretsu: who knew (D)
  110. Azunyn: >him
  111. Haretsu: at least I used up the enemy's good rolls there (D)
  112. Gria Geomancer: you more feminine than this
  113. Haretsu: Don't even start with me
  114. BobBarbas: I'd like to see you try, ya little shit
  115. Morgan -: Sorry
  116. Morgan -: too late for that token to be anything but this
  117. BobBarbas: Who the fuck is this faggot
  118. Valerie: we're like
  119. Valerie: best friends
  120. Gria Geomancer: fester town gym leader
  121. BobBarbas: This isn't holy at all
  122. BobBarbas: I bet he doesn't even do god's work
  123. Valerie: He and Arceus are on pretty good terms as far as I know
  124. Valerie: Not sure why they wouldn't be, Morgan's a bro
  125. Valerie: The part where he teleported us through my cell phone and threw out half of our internal organs kinda sucked
  126. Valerie: but we got better
  127. Valerie: Huh, that's right
  128. Haretsu: we won't HAVE those in this
  129. Haretsu: never, ever split the party, even more so than usual
  130. Gria Geomancer: won't have what
  131. Haretsu: cell phones
  132. Gria Geomancer: ah
  133. Gria Geomancer: well uh
  134. Gria Geomancer: there's a spell for that
  135. Gria Geomancer: sending I think it is
  136. Haretsu: Yeah, but message or Sending or whatever the one that's more than 0th level is expensive as fuck if I remember
  137. Haretsu: or well
  138. Gria Geomancer: no
  139. Haretsu: just copper wire apparently
  140. Gria Geomancer: that was Scrying
  141. Gria Geomancer: I assume
  142. Haretsu: but if we don't HAVE i- ahh, that'd be it
  143. Haretsu: I assume you won't be taking Sending anyway
  144. Haretsu: or not you, but Tarron
  145. Gria Geomancer: Tarron could if it's needed
  146. Akari: Oh shit
  147. Akari: my opponent picked Akari
  148. Akari: better move back first thing
  149. Gria Geomancer: (SAD)
  150. Haretsu: I assume literally every single move of hers is a projectile
  151. Gria Geomancer: no
  152. Gria Geomancer: just two
  153. Gria Geomancer: but that is all she needs
  154. Akari: Just her best move
  155. Haretsu: So yeah, every single move she'll actually use
  156. Gria Geomancer: and my main two
  157. Akari: Nah, she's still pretty good even without it
  158. Gria Geomancer: one has no projectiles at all, one has one that's pretty much even
  159. Gria Geomancer: beats hers out, but is much more laggy
  160. Akari: save for that god awful teleport demon head thing
  161. Akari: which PC still falls for anyway, so (nonowa)
  162. Gria Geomancer: hips
  163. Akari: How do I not have a Kaede token
  164. Juzo: yet I have a shit quality Juzoh one for some reason
  165. Kaede: i don't know
  166. Kaede 1: oh wait here it is
  167. Kaede: well
  168. Kaede: this is awkward
  169. Kaede 1: certainly
  170. Kaede 1: didn't even have the decency to be unawakened (D)
  171. Kaede: indeed
  172. AmanoHyo: and this token for some reason
  173. AmanoHyo: not that I'm complaining
  174. Kaede: dat sprite
  175. Lightkeeper: right, right, let's see what we got here
  176. Lightkeeper: « 1d20 = 1 » I sure am wicked with a bow
  177. Lightkeeper: or so I thought
  178. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+3 = 6 + 3 = 9 » Clearly this all stems from the fact that I forgot to add my modifier
  179. Lightkeeper: *Puts legs up on desk, lights cigar* good enough for the lightkeeper
  180. Haretsu: well ass
  181. Kaede: well
  182. Kaede: it should usually be +4
  183. Kaede: due to PBS
  184. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 1 + 4 = 5 » You are in fact entirely correct
  185. Kaede: apparently not
  186. Lightkeeper: Things bode well
  187. Haretsu: « 1d20+4 = 20 + 4 = 24 » g'damn people
  188. Haretsu: « 1d20+4 = 1 + 4 = 5 » just shit
  189. Haretsu: m
  190. Lightkeeper: you keep on with that
  191. Haretsu: well « 1d6+4 = 5 + 4 = 9 » regardless
  192. Arte: « 1d20+5 = 16 + 5 = 21 » Maybe I'll do better than the other cavalier
  193. Arte: seems it
  194. Arte: « 1d8+6 = 6 + 6 = 12 » well if I'm not charging or power attacking
  195. Arte: ..don't HAVE power attack yet
  196. Arte: that might explain why I didn't use it
  197. Haretsu: hippo
  198. Arte: 1st level seems to be entirely a crapshoot
  199. Arte: you either OHKO everything or get OHKOd by everything
  200. Haretsu: Are they like
  201. Haretsu: going to be SUPPLYING us with map-making shit
  202. Haretsu: because that seems logical
  203. Arte: probably not
  204. Arte: I should probably actually spend the money on that now
  205. Tarron: not like I'm fucking short on money
  206. Tarron: I can't carry shit
  207. Haretsu: neither can I
  208. Haretsu: that's why I have a donkay
  209. Tarron: I have exactly 26
  210. Tarron: since clothes do not count
  211. Haretsu: and thank whichever deity I worship that they do not
  212. Siegfried: and fuck your donkey
  213. Siegfried: I have a horse lion
  214. Haretsu: Yeah, for your shit
  215. Siegfried: what the hell pathfinder
  216. Siegfried: Ink 8 gp
  217. Siegfried: Ink, glowing (vial) 5 gp
  218. Siegfried: fuck it glowing ink why not
  219. Siegfried: it's somehow cheaper
  220. Haretsu: (XD)
  221. Siegfried: and just
  222. Siegfried: ink that you paint on yourself and reacts to body heat to start glowing randomly
  223. Siegfried: Ink, fire 1 gp
  224. Siegfried: cheap as fuck apparently
  225. Haretsu: Can't imagine you'll find much use for that
  226. Haretsu: Like, as a gimmick, maybe
  227. Haretsu: but not as the only thing you can write in
  228. Tarron: well you
  229. Tarron: you don't write in it (D)
  230. Tarron: you apply it to your body and it glows like fire
  231. Tarron: but also it hurts
  232. Tarron: so uh, mostly only Ifrit and shit use it since they resist fire
  233. Tarron: so it does not harm them
  234. Haretsu: Well that sounds dumb, why would you want it (D)
  235. Tarron: I didn't get it ()
  236. Tarron: (D)*
  237. Tarron: It's for like, bellydancers and shit
  238. Tarron: and you're the only one here dressed like a bellydancer
  239. Haretsu: Don't (D)
  240. Haretsu: aand I have the lowest HP in the party
  241. Haretsu: of course
  242. Haretsu: y'all better believe I'll be camping on the rooftops
  243. Haretsu: and throwing my bombs down at these nigger-ass bandits
  244. Tarron: you will probably not be the only one
  245. Haretsu: You've got bombs too then, eh
  246. Haretsu: well damn I really am useless here
  247. Tarron: I have a crossbow
  248. Tarron: « 1d20+1 = 16 + 1 = 17 » which is really the same thing
  249. Tarron: « 1d8 = 7 » same thing
  250. Haretsu: « 1d20+4 = 3 + 4 = 7 » I disagree
  251. Haretsu: mm
  252. Haretsu: see, thing is
  253. Haretsu: mine ALWAYS hits
  254. Haretsu: (D)
  255. Haretsu: EVEN WHEN IT MISSES
  256. Haretsu: IT HITS (D)
  257. Haretsu: « 1d20+2 = 11 + 2 = 13 » so long as they don't dex save
  258. Haretsu: which they may
  259. Haretsu: need to check the DC
  260. Haretsu: The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the alchemist’s level + the alchemist’s Intelligence modifier.
  261. Haretsu: Yeah naw.
  262. Haretsu: 14.
  263. Haretsu: Guess I'll be bombing the ones on mounts (hmm)
  264. Tarron: I think that's most of them
  265. Haretsu: good
  266. Arte: sadly that means I don't get the bonus against them
  267. Arte: « 1d20+6 = 16 + 6 = 22 » and I can unfortunately fail the ride check for Siegfried to attack
  268. Arte: it is only ten
  269. Arte: but it is possible to fail
  270. Haretsu: well try not to
  271. Haretsu: where the hell'd you even GET a lion anyway
  272. Haretsu: And don't say "from your order," where'd THEY get it (D)
  273. Siegfried: Oddly I am not order of the lion
  274. Siegfried: Though it'd sorta fit
  275. Siegfried: but no I go--right should probably actually send tirk the backstory
  276. Siegfried: not that they'll come into play in the first session
  277. Siegfried: firefox apparently does not recognize "strived" as a word
  278. Siegfried: yet does "strives" and "strive"
  279. Haretsu: Is it some shit like "strove"
  280. Siegfried: nope
  281. Haretsu: because english is ass
  282. Siegfried: either way it's on the pastebin if you need it tirk
  283. Siegfried: Tirk, not you (D)
  284. Siegfried: You ain't supposed to know the other PC's backstories at level 1 (D)
  285. Azunyn: woah nigga
  286. Azunyn: that's a lotta words
  287. Siegfried: a couple
  288. Azunyn: and if you look even closer
  289. Azunyn: you may notice that there's even more letters
  290. Siegfried: maybe so
  291. Siegfried: blip
  292. Haretsu: *toasts you*
  293. Haretsu: Well
  294. Haretsu: let's see what I can get on Bear lore « 1d20+8 = 13 + 8 = 21 »
  295. Haretsu: Dire bears like to attack with their natural weapons
  296. Haretsu: dammit that's all
  297. Haretsu: Oh, it was the RELIGION check
  298. Azunyn: They mysteriously vanish every winter, perhaps to give reverence to their perverse fertility goddess while gorging on the souls of men lost to famine.
  299. Haretsu: C'mon, Terry, don't disappoint
  300. Haretsu: Nope
  301. Haretsu: I don't have Knowledge (Religion)
  302. Haretsu: She should though
  303. Tarron: « 1d20+9 = 5 + 9 = 14 » you bet your ass I do
  304. Tarron: not enough
  305. Haretsu: You get nothing
  306. Tarron: « 1d20+6 = 11 + 6 = 17 » what about planes
  307. Haretsu: « 1d20+8 = 13 + 8 = 21 » *Dark Lores*
  308. Haretsu: DC20: OM NOM NOM NOM NOM.
  309. Haretsu: oh god
  310. Haretsu: *double crossbows you*
  311. Tarron: probably a bad idea
  312. Haretsu: Maybe I should invest in Knowledge: Stabbing People
  313. Haretsu: that'd give me a bonus on to-hit, right
  314. Tarron: you'd have to invest in PROFESSION
  315. Tarron: there are a set number of knowledges
  316. Haretsu: okay, Profession: People-stabber
  317. Tarron: However you...don't stab people
  318. Tarron: that's not what bombs do
  319. Haretsu: I have a dagger, I occasionally stab people (D)
  320. Haretsu: « 1d20-1 = 19 - 1 = 18 » Not very WELL
  321. Haretsu: that's just
  322. Haretsu: a crit
  323. Haretsu: okay
  324. Haretsu: « 1d20-1 = 18 - 1 = 17 »
  325. Haretsu: yeah
  326. Haretsu: « 1d4-1+1d4-1 = 4 - 1 + 4 - 1 = 6 »
  327. Haretsu: ...
  328. Tarron: maybe
  329. Haretsu: okay apparently I'm decent sometimes
  330. Haretsu: but not
  331. Haretsu: uh
  332. Haretsu: usually
  333. Haretsu: And hand towel is just not listed
  334. Haretsu: So I'll just base it off of the blanket price
  335. Haretsu: 1 sp it is
  336. Haretsu: Oh right
  337. Haretsu: Alchemist's kindness
  338. Haretsu: I'll prepare a bit of that
  339. Haretsu: « 1d20+14 = 4 + 14 = 18 » Damn the check is high, better do Crafter's Fortune beforehand
  340. Haretsu: naw
  341. Haretsu: « 1d20+14 = 2 + 14 = 16 »
  342. Haretsu: naaaw
  343. Haretsu: « 1d20+14 = 10 + 14 = 24 » I JUST WANT A HANGOVER CURE
  344. Haretsu: THERE (D)
  345. Haretsu: Right
  346. Haretsu: food
  347. Haretsu: where is food
  348. Arte: fuck food
  349. Arte: I have a lion, he can hunt for food
  350. Arte: « 1d20+6 = 6 + 6 = 12 » I also have Survival
  351. Arte: the check is rather low (D)
  352. Arte: oddly
  353. Haretsu: You are the type of person who plays Oregon Trail starting with no food, I know that
  354. Haretsu: I am not (D)
  355. Arte: Survival is not a class skill
  356. Arte: for the lion
  357. Donkey: I assume we're not being hyperrealistic with food anyway
  358. Donkey: > A more realistic and easier-to-use method is to have PCs pay a recurring cost of living tax. At the start of every game month, a PC must pay an amount of gold equal to the lifestyle bracket he wishes to live in—if he can't afford his desired bracket, he drops down to the first one he can afford.
  359. Donkey: Oh okay this exists
  360. Donkey: though we will not do it
  361. Donkey: as we will not HAVE in-game months
  362. Arte: we, uh
  363. Arte: might
  364. Arte: this is kingmaker after all
  365. Donkey: > Average (10 gp/month:
  366. Arte: countries are not built in a day
  367. Donkey: Average income of non-adventurers is 10gp a month
  368. Donkey: a MONTH
  369. Donkey: this isn't even "poor"
  370. Donkey: which is 3 gp a month
  371. Donkey: this is middle-class
  372. Donkey: god damn gp is worth a lot
  373. Haretsu: Abacus 2 gp 2 lbs. Alchemist's kit
  374. Arte: well, uh, agi
  375. Haretsu: This apparently cost me a week's salary
  376. Arte: the saying "worth its weight in gold"
  377. Arte: comes from the fact
  378. Arte: that
  379. Arte: GOLD IS WORTH A LOT OF MONEY.
  380. Haretsu: It might be
  381. Haretsu: does anyone ever take "gold pieces" seriously though (D)
  382. Haretsu: Extravagant (1,000 gp/month): The PC lives in a mansion, castle, or other extravagant home—he might even own the building in question. This is the lifestyle of most aristocrats. He can secure any non-magical item worth 25 gp or less from his belongings in his home in 1d10 minutes. He need only track purchases of meals or taxes in excess of 100 gp.
  383. Arte: generally yes
  384. Haretsu: Think you can afford this, Hendrix
  385. Arte: Axis Bold probably makes like 50k gp a month if not far far more
  386. Arte: hendrix can probably fucking afford it
  387. Haretsu: I dunno (D)
  388. Arte: he PROBABLY should have brought more money with him
  389. Haretsu: How much of that money did you actually SEE in-game (D)
  390. Arte: to Hugo's island
  391. Arte: he brought like 2000
  392. Arte: and spent 1000 of that a boat
  393. Arte: on*
  394. Haretsu: that moron
  395. Arte: but well
  396. Arte: can't really go incognito
  397. Arte: while loaded to the brim with gp
  398. Haretsu: Hide it (D)
  399. Arte: and/or pp
  400. Arte: which we never used
  401. Arte: because we didn't have enough money for it to matter.
  402. Haretsu: *rapturously enjoys mustard*
  403. Arte: right we won't be starting as retardedly late as usual
  404. Arte: though I've no idea what time we will, up to you lot
  405. Azunyn: eh I duno
  406. Haretsu: « 1d5 = 3 » no idea
  407. Azunyn: Maybe 10? 9?
  408. Haretsu: 9'd be in an hour, 10
  409. Haretsu: 'd be in 2
  410. Haretsu: either way
  411. Haretsu: guess I should go get dinner
  412. Azunyn: 9 seems workable enough
  413. Arte: I thought...you DID go get dinner
  414. Arte: forever ago
  415. Arte: because it closed
  416. Arte: forever ago
  417. Azunyn: unless something is happening then
  418. Arte: Not that I know of
  419. Haretsu: I forgot how everything was closed AT the place that was open
  420. Haretsu: It will also be bizarre to not go to 4 in the morning

  542. Tarron: (( (HIPPO) ))
  543. Tarron: (( you asplode tirk ))
  544. Hendrix: (( took me roughly 50 years to find out where the fuck the Charter was ))
  545. Hendrix: (( sorry for the technical difficulties there ))
  546. Hendrix: Anyway, let's get everything straight. You are currently a scouting party hired by none other than the Lord Mayor of Restov, granted a license to explore and map the section of the Stolen Lands known as the "Greenbelt". It's been a slightly rough journey, and along the way you had to fend off a few wild beasties, and through all that, you've managed to land yourself at a trading post at the bottom of Rostland. (cont...)
  547. Hendrix: You each recieved a charter for this honor, as you all should have read by now
  548. Hendrix: http://gasacgames.com/rpg/Charter1.pdf
  549. Tarron: (( I'll read it soon as it loads ))
  550. Hendrix: The Regent also informed you that you are one of four groups chartered for the exploration of this region. It was recommended that you regroup with fellow travellers at this trading post
  551. Tarron: (( which uh seems to be not any time soon ))
  552. Hendrix: "B e it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness region known as the Greenbelt. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than forty-eight miles west, twenty-four miles east, and sixty miles south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Calistril, under watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne."
  553. Haretsu: (( right I'll read that in a sec myself, just got contact from Warlord ))
  554. Tarron: (( well forget him ))
  555. Tarron: (( too late ))
  556. Haretsu: (( I know ))
  557. Haretsu: (( He's just trying to schedule a day now ))
  558. Haretsu: *oh shit a charter*
  559. Haretsu: *reads*
  560. Haretsu: (( Does Monday work for you Thrice ))
  561. Tarron: (( Yeah it's fine ))
  562. Haretsu: (( a'ight ))
  563. Tarron: (( fuck is today ))
  564. Tarron: (( saturday? ))
  565. Haretsu: (( yeah ))
  566. Haretsu: (( so two days from now in case you forgot that as well (dhat) ))
  567. Tarron: (( no agi I know that the sun is in between saturn and the moon ))
  568. Haretsu: (( jesus christ again ))
  569. Haretsu: (( let's just ))
  570. Haretsu: (( take care of this as much as possible ))
  571. Tarron: (( take care of what ))
  572. Haretsu: (( also, have we actually MET yet, I'm still sketchy ))
  573. Tarron: (( Yeah, I think so ))
  574. Haretsu: (( assumedly there's been some discussion on the way here ))
  575. Hendrix: At the post, several workers are running about, coming in and out, bringing bales of hay and other sorts of trappings to the horses within the stables. One of the workers appears to be recieving commands by a blonde haired woman.
  576. Hendrix: Aaand it's at this point we usually introduce our characters if this was an actual roundtable game
  577. Hendrix: So let us just give a brief rundown of our characters so we know what's what
  578. Hendrix: and yes, you have met beforehand, if only a short while atgo
  579. Hendrix: *ago
  580. Hendrix: due to being grouped together
  581. Tarron: *So what just an AA meeting then*
  582. Haretsu: *maybe*
  583. Haretsu: *shit we've been in and out of eachother's tokens plenty*
  584. Haretsu: *I think we just may know what's up (dhat)*
  585. Tarron: *I think he meant...character*
  586. Tarron: *not stats&*
  587. Haretsu: *he might have*
  588. Lightkeeper: This masked individual goes simply by the name "Lightkeeper." Not a man of many words, he refers to himself as a simple songwriter with a need to light up the night with his ambient oral tunes.
  589. Haretsu: *damn, the grid being ever-so-slightly off is going to bug me more than it should*
  590. Lightkeeper: Appearing to be a drifter, he helps you out on your journey by sniping away at any threats with his shortbow as well as assisting you with his bardic magic. His exact motivations are an enigma.
  591. Hendrix: Something like tht
  592. Tarron: (( agi where ya go ))
  593. Haretsu: (( just typing in notepad ))
  594. Haretsu: (( jesus christ there is absolutely no way I drank this much water ))
  595. Haretsu: (( hell's going on ))
  596. Tarron: Tarron's a girl of quite a few words. She channels the divine power of Shelyn, goddess of arts, to confound others. She likes flashy magic and shows and shows this in her own abilities. The celestial spirits bound to her attract attention when they show themselves, but she doesn't mind.
  597. Tarron: (( guess I need to right another for arte too ))
  598. Haretsu: (( totally read that as goddess of farts ))
  599. Arte: *huh an instance of a phrase being repeated totally on purpose*
  600. Arte: *she enjoys flashy shows and shows that in her magic*
  601. Haretsu: *sure this'll do*
  602. Haretsu: The young man clad in orange is a kitsune called Haretsu. He is fairly open and proud of his lineage, but doesn't tend to make a nuisance of himself for it. As a budding alchemist, his studies have taken him to the open road, where he seeks to apply what he has learned in a practical setting. Generally personable, he nonetheless has a mischievous streak which manifests itself from time to time, just like any of his kind. He is very defensive of his choice of profession.
  603. Hendrix: Alright, alright, just waiting a bit for Arte...
  604. Donkey: DONKAY will no doubt prove to be the cornerstone of the group's success or failure. Born and raised as any ordinary donkey, he has no special qualities whatsoever. Nonetheless, he has a strong back, and a strong will. Unfortunately, this will does not always match that of his owner, who did not see it fit to invest in Handle Animal for some reason. On rare occasions, specifically whenever it is comedically appropriate, he may lift his head and shout "DONKAY," then immediately go back to chewing on something or other.
  605. Hendrix: perfect
  606. Donkey: On such occasions, there is a 10% chance that the event is canon, which raises by 5% each time his owner gains a level.
  607. Arte: Dressed in brown leather, Arte is charismatic and enjoys his own voice, but knows not to overstep his boundaries. He's here to look after Tarron, who he refers to as his little sister, but he's just as interested in promoting his own name. His main goal here is to earn his place in the world as a nobleman. He prefers to solve his problems in whatever way attracts the most attention, be it through talking or a duel. His preferred method of battle is mounted on his companion Siegfried, a demonic lion of dubious origin. Arte loves him because he scares the daylights out of everyone who sees him. Tarron's pretty fond of the guy too; he's not as rough of a beast as he comes off.
  608. Hendrix: I'll be sure to keep that in mind
  609. Hendrix: A colorful group indeed. As you arrive into the posts, you can see it's not exactly in the best of shape. The storage pen's door is rickety and open, where inside you can see it's completely empty.
  610. Haretsu: (( the hell didn't I get a backpack for ))
  611. Haretsu: (( oh whatever ))
  612. Hendrix: The blonde haired woman who was just whispering to a worker earlier seems to have spotted you off the corner of her eye. An estatic grin comes over her normally gloomy-looking face as she calls for your attention.
  613. Haretsu: (( >Backpack, common 2 gp 2 lbs.1 ))
  614. Haretsu: (( yeah I can still afford that ))
  615. Tarron: We have found our destination?
  616. Lightkeeper: The masked man behind you chuckles and twirls a bell around his finger. "Uhoho~, this must be the riiiight place."
  617. Haretsu: *consults charter, checks out building* Yeah, we've made it alright. Looks like someone's already got something for us to do.
  618. Hendrix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBATrLRWySg
  619. Hendrix: As if we would ever forget you BGM
  620. Hendrix: (DEVOTED TO THE MEMORY OF SYNCHTUBE, RIP IN PIECE ;_;7)
  621. Haretsu: (( could always do endlessvideo or summat ))
  622. Arte: It's gotta be! Unless there was another post we missed on the trail. Shall we go see what the little lady wants of us?
  623. Haretsu: (( by which I mean whynaut http://www.endlessvideo.com/watch?v=SBATrLRWySg ))
  624. Hendrix: As you walk up to the lady, she appears to have expected your arrival.
  625. Haretsu: *oh god*
  626. Haretsu: *I am down to literally 1 gp*
  627. Tarron: *I have 75, we will be fine*
  628. Haretsu: *sometimes, a man's gotta pay for his own shit*
  629. Svetlana: The woman claps her hands and speaks with a gleam in her eyes. "Hello! I welcome you to Oleg's trading post! You must be the guards we were informed of, no?"
  630. Haretsu: (( I swear this will be the last time in the near future, but brb ))
  631. Svetlana: She calms down for a moment and waves her hand in a humble manner. "Oh but never mind that, come in, come in! I've prepared a hearty dinner anticipating your arrival. My husband should be here shortly, yes."
  632. Haretsu: (( starting to wonder if I should even say anything, I've become rather efficient at it ))
  633. Hendrix: Well someone's gonna speak to progress the story, no
  634. Arte: Guards? That's certainly what's listed as my job on this little excursion.
  635. Haretsu: Guardians of the Stolen Lands, that's us! Ah ha... hmm. It sounded like you were speaking of something more urgent though. I suppose we can talk about it over dinner! Good to hear that, it's been a long trip here.
  636. Haretsu: (( right I maybe should've grabbed Identify ))
  637. Haretsu: (( ah well whatever ))
  638. Tarron: Dinner sounds wonderful after so much travelling! I'd like to hear the details of what you have to say.
  639. Svetlana: The lady leads you inside, the house being somewhat rickety, completely made of wood. In the center of the kitchen appears to be a big steaming pot of stew. "Thank the heavens. We've been waiting for mercenaries for weeks now to help us out!"
  640. Haretsu: *prior to this we should station our animals*
  641. Haretsu: *kind of important*
  642. Hendrix: I'll just mooove you on over to the house as so
  643. Haretsu: *might as well do that off-camera*
  644. Haretsu: *damn this is a cramped-ass room*
  645. Svetlana: "Sorry for not introducing myself earlier, it's been rather...busy around here no? The name is Svetlana, proud husband of Oleg, the owner of this humble place." She speaks while pouring you glasses of wine as a way of thanking you for coming to their aid.
  646. Svetlana: "Surely, you were all briefed about our problems earier, no?"
  647. Hendrix: It can be a bit hard to hear at times due to a loud hammering on the roof.
  648. Tarron: (( proud husband indeed ))
  649. Hendrix: (And if you found the need to check beforehand, no, you were not briefed, so don't worry)
  650. Tarron: (( can never tell with this final fantasy artwork ))
  651. Hendrix: .....
  652. Haretsu: (( 10/10 ))
  653. Svetlana: *Wife (ONO)
  654. Haretsu: (( Nope, changed by canon ))
  655. Haretsu: (( She's now male ))
  656. Haretsu: (( Oleg's gay ))
  657. Tarron: (( Iunno, he could be a woman ))
  658. Hendrix: bu-but that goes against the book
  659. Haretsu: (( eh fuck the book the book's gay ))
  660. Hendrix: No, you are (D)
  661. Tarron: What is that noise I keep hearing? What is up there?
  662. Haretsu: (( nope, Oleg is ))
  663. Arte: Hold on a second, Tarron. Briefed? You must mean about stopping here?
  664. Haretsu: Good to meet you, Mrs. Svetlana! *takes wine* Hrm, not bad, not bad at all... what problems? Something to do with the noise Tarron speaks of?
  665. Svetlana: "Hmm? Oh that? Oh that's just my husband working on a break in the roof. He should be done about-"
  666. Haretsu: (( yeah this dialect's gonna die in about 5 sessions. ))
  667. Haretsu: (( I can already tell. ))
  668. Hendrix: The roof breaks as a large, bulky man falls through while yelling a barrage of obscenities.
  669. Haretsu: (( clap ))
  670. Haretsu: *DAMMIT I SPILLED WINE ALL OVER MY EVERYTHING*
  671. Oleg: "SON OF A-" The man gets up while dusting himself off. "Oh I svere, I svere on my life..."
  672. Lightkeeper: *Jumps back, startled* "Uho?"
  673. Svetlana: *Shields self from debris while not changing face.* "Sooner than expected, no?"
  674. Haretsu: Ngah, what?! ...I take it this is your husband who was working on the roof then? Mr. Oleg?
  675. Oleg: The man angrily kicks some debris out of the way while turning his gaze to the group and rubbing his beard. "Uuuuhuuuh..."
  676. Arte: (( back ))
  677. Oleg: "Honey, are these who I think they are?"
  678. Oleg: "I thought I called for guards, not the local circus!"
  679. Arte: This the oft-rumoured husband?
  680. Arte: Cheery fellow.
  681. Svetlana: The woman chuckles to herself. "You'll fit right in with that display of acrobatics."
  682. Oleg: *Polishes biceps* "Damn right! The name is Oleg, and I expect nothing but the toughest of the tough!"
  683. Oleg: *Rubs beard* "Though uh, now may not be the time to be picky. You were briefed beforehand, right?"
  684. Oleg: "Y'know, about the bandits? The ransacking? The defending of the posts?"
  685. Tarron: It's certainly a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Oleg! I can't help but notice that word come up, briefed? Oh, is that what it means?
  686. Oleg: The middle aged man blinks as you appear to be uncertain with his words. "That's....why you were called all the way out here, right? To defend this post?"
  687. Haretsu: *cranes neck around to view hole in ceiling* Yes, of course we've heard about the banditry in the area... are you telling me they've set their sights here?
  688. Oleg: *Rubs chin* "Hrmph. Are you telling me..."
  689. Svetlana: Oleg's wife pushes him aside to ask the bigger questions. "You mean you're only just hearing about our current strife? Well that's certainly not what we were told beforehand by Restov...
  690. Haretsu: (( we might be ))
  691. Arte: I'm afraid so! My charge is the little lady. But that doesn't mean we're not supposed to be on the lookout for rampant bandits.
  692. Svetlana: "Strange, very strange, but yes, you have the right idea."
  693. Haretsu: (( gonna take a while to learn these names ))
  694. Oleg: The middle age man looks on with a VERY disapproving face while crossing his arms, but otherwise remaining silent.
  695. Svetlana: "Well then, if it won't be too much trouble, I'll have to humbly ask for you to assist us with a rather...unfortnate bandit problem."
  696. Haretsu: If you're expecting a bandit attack... well, I can only assume that's what all the repair work is being done for. Is this a recurring group?
  697. Lightkeeper: "Uho! Seems like it!"
  698. Tarron: I thought bandits were highwaymen! They are attacking you here?
  699. Svetlana: The woman looks down with a somber face. "Yes, that's exactly what's been going on these past few months. Specifically, 3 months ago."
  700. Svetlana: "They first threatened to burn down this entire post if we didn't hand over all the furs and goods we collected this past months. Since then, they've arrived back without fail within an hour of sunrise on the first day of each month."
  701. Svetlana: "It's been completely awful, we have no idea what to do if this keeps up at it's current rate..."
  702. Svetlana: "We sent a very detailed letter to the Lord about this, a few weeks ago, and well, here we are."
  703. Tarron: That sounds terrible! They sent not a soul to help you? How awful of him!
  704. Arte: he, not they*
  705. Haretsu: *continues to dab up the wine* Well don't you worry, if it's fire they want, then it's fire they'll get. They'll have a far harder go at it breaking through this time, I believe. I would have preferred this to be IN the summons... but we've come plenty armed to defend this post of yours.
  706. Svetlana: "Seems it is how it is. We're desperate at this point, so please, even if we don't have much left to offer you in return..."
  707. Lightkeeper: "Kweheheh! I have no reason to not be with the fluffy man here~. If things are gonna get rough, then who am I to soften the deal~?"
  708. Arte: Sounds about par for the course from my view. So these bandits are pulling a "protection money" sort of job? This is the first leg of the journey, huh? I'll tell you what, I'll help you out. Even if you can't pay me, I'd think a stunt like this might put me on the map.
  709. Arte: *almost said radar*
  710. Arte: *then realized radar does not exist*
  711. Haretsu: (( mip ))
  712. Arte: (( brb fud ))
  713. Svetlana: "Thank heavens. We promise, we'll make it up for you by providing you a place to stay for the night."
  714. Oleg: *Grumbles unhappily, but still keeps mouth shut*
  715. Tarron: Oh, cheer up! We'll take care of this! They won't be a match for Siegfried!
  716. Arte: Hey, hold on, I think we skipped an important detail in our bluster here. How many of them are there?
  717. Svetlana: "Hmm, if I can detail anything...on the first night, they came armed with 10 men, led by a nasty cloaked man and a wicked-looking young woman carrying hatchets..."
  718. Haretsu: ...Mr. Oleg, we might not perhaps be what you were expecting, but we'll do our fair part to defend your post to the end. While I haven't yet fought alongside these people, or... at all, really, I've full faith that we'll be able to push the assault back. Why, just the sight of my bombs being lobbed their way might be enough to make them think twice - not to mention Arte's hellbeast! Speaking of, are you sure it's... safe to leave it in the stables? It seems as if it would need special lodging.
  719. Haretsu: (( should probably try to break these up into shorter statements ))
  720. Haretsu: (( my bad ))
  721. Hendrix: And then the two were crushed by Agi's mighty wall of text and everyone died BAD END
  722. Haretsu: (( maybe ))
  723. Haretsu: (( Jesus christ cups cost a GP each ))
  724. Haretsu: (( shy ))
  725. Haretsu: (( *why ))
  726. Haretsu: (( this IS some rather sexy tavern music ))
  727. Oleg: Oleg finally finds the need to open his mouth. "Oi, don't remind me of that day. The bandits were predictably crude and foolish, but that lady...such a frightening face, such a black sense of humor. Almost lopped my right hand clean off in a cruel bit o' mockery..."
  728. Oleg: "She took my wife's wedding ring right off 'er hand too! As payment for not "shortening my reach" she says....*grumble mumble*"
  729. Svetlana: "*Ahem* Anyway, they seem to be letting their guard down recently. On the second visit, they arrived with only six other men, and on the third, they came with four."
  730. Svetlana: "Hopefully tomorrow they'll be even fewer in number"
  731. Arte: Took your ring? And just about your hand? I'll make sure to watch my fingers then. Not that they can reach them from where I'll be!
  732. Tarron: *oh right you said something agi* Oh, Siegfried will be fine! He gets along great with horses! He's just a big ole cat, after all.
  733. Arte: Yeah, those horses'll be fine. The bandits, can't vouch for them.
  734. Lightkeeper: "Tomorrow! Seems we have all day and all night to set up our little defense, no?"
  735. Haretsu: I... suppose you may be right. You'd know better than I would, I've only read about animals such as him, no practical experience to speak of.
  736. Haretsu: And yes, hopefully, but we can't afford to rely on hope. First thing after finishing up here, let's see to these defenses.
  737. Arte: Defenses? For four or five little bandits? I don't think that's necessary, but if it'll appease you people.
  738. Haretsu: It's more about sending a message. If they believe this place to be secure, they may not send another attack.
  739. Oleg: The middle aged man crosses his arms sternly yet again. "No matter what you must prepare, do whatever you can to drive those freaks the hell outta my post."
  740. Tarron: (( Oleg: Hey hey hey, stay outta mah post ))
  741. Haretsu: (( getout ))
  742. Tarron: (( blame tirkfinder ))
  743. Tarron: (( more like, that Kobra ))
  744. Haretsu: (( maybe ))
  745. Hendrix: aaaand hold on
  746. Hendrix: don't be surprised if the server accidentally dies
  747. Haretsu: (( uh, okay ))
  748. Tarron: Well, they can't send another attack if we take them all out, can they?
  749. Hendrix: Okay, are you still alive
  750. Haretsu: (( yep ))
  751. Hendrix: I switched to my wired connection
  752. Tarron: (( unfortunately not ))
  753. Tarron: (( mip ))
  754. Hendrix: After eatin up some gud eats, you're free to explore the post as you wish.
  755. Haretsu: They're hardly sending the bulk of their force, from what they've said. They may actually give it an effort on the next attempt - business has been good for these bandits, it sounds like.
  756. Hendrix: A1 contains the market yard, A2 being the guesthouse for anyone who wishes to stay the night, A3 is the stable, A4 is the empty storage pen. The place is surrounded by a wooden palisade that stands 10 feet high. At each corner are 20 foot square watchtowers, each armed with a run-down catapult left over from long ago.
  757. Hendrix: The enterance through the palisade is 30 feet wide. It seems like a bit of a climb to scale the walls of the palisade.
  758. Haretsu: (( >investing in climb ))
  759. Haretsu: (( who does that besides stupid halforcs ))
  760. Haretsu: (( and, like, fighters ))
  761. Hendrix: >Fighters
  762. Hendrix: >Investing in skills
  763. Haretsu: (( exactly ))
  764. Haretsu: (( well, humans might get two points per level. ))
  765. Haretsu: (( but that's about it. ))
  766. Tarron: (( well, sometimes you just gotta plop a point into it ))
  767. Arte: *may as well move outside*
  768. Haretsu: Now, you say they come at dawn... from which direction? The palisade's the only entrance to this post, right?
  769. Arte: (( they come from undergrou--THEY COME THROUGH THE FUCKING GATE (D) ))
  770. Haretsu: (( yes, but like ))
  771. Arte: (( GET IT TOGETHER TYRONE (D) ))
  772. Haretsu: (( WHERE ARE THEY COMING FROM ))
  773. Haretsu: (( WHICH DIRECTION IS THEIR BASE (D) ))
  774. Haretsu: (( THAT KIND OF SHIT (D) ))
  775. Arte: (( the walls are ten feet high ))
  776. Arte: (( not sure if they could see them ))
  777. Haretsu: (( I'd hope they'd ever have lookouts ))
  778. Haretsu: (( at all ))
  779. Arte: So just how sturdy ARE these walls here? Is the wood rotten?
  780. Oleg: "Hrmph. They've only come through the entrance, obviously. They haven't resorted to desperate tactics yet. They all come from the south, or at least, that's what I can gather so far."
  781. Tarron: *points to catapults* There's no chance those still work, is there?
  782. Haretsu: I was wondering about those as well...
  783. Svetlana: "Eerr, they haven't worked for quite a while now. They're leftovers from this post's border fort days, see..."
  784. Svetlana: "You could try and repair them, but gosh, how long would that take? Weeks?"
  785. Haretsu: (( I have no idea ))
  786. Haretsu: (( I vaguely remember being "able" to fix them last time ))
  787. Haretsu: (( none of us COULD, but I might be able to this time ))
  788. Oleg: "Now if yer REALLY gonna go through with this, my best advice is to hide inside the guest house or stables and catch 'em by surprise. But y'know, that's just me."
  789. Tarron: (( you'd need some sorta really good repair spell ))
  790. Haretsu: I could take a look at the catapults - they're just basic machines, how hard could it be? Maybe it's just something that fell out of place. ...and my specialty is hardly melee combat, I'd prefer to be up on the battlements.
  791. Oleg: "Afterwards, you can hand their bodies over to me. Their corpses'll make a good warning for any other would-be roughnecks who think it's fine and dory to make a fool of me."
  792. Arte: Ambush might work, but I'm not sure how fast I can get out of those stables on Siegfried. Not to mention, I need to be able to see my enemy to run them down.
  793. Svetlana: "*Ahem* Sure, it wouldn't hurt to try...though I'm not sure what you could do..."
  794. Haretsu: Neither am I! And I won't be until I give it a lookover.
  795. Hendrix: Going up to the catapults via ladder, the catapults seem to be, predictably, worn down with rotten wood and broken mechanisms all over.
  796. Haretsu: *all of 'em I assume*
  797. Hendrix: Yes, all of 'em. They're really old, see. The one that's in the least amount of wreck is the upper left one.
  798. Haretsu: ...huh, it didn't look quite this bad from the ground. Ah well... there are better things I could be spending my time on anyhow. Nearly looks like you'd need to rebuild these from scratch.
  799. Oleg: "Though uh, keep in mind, neither me or my wife here are soldiers. We'll aid you in any plan you think up, just so long as it doesn't place us or my post in danger."
  800. Haretsu: (( Huh, I wonder if Enlarge Person would give me a larger range on my bombs ))
  801. Haretsu: (( I have no idea if that works or not ))
  802. Tarron: Oh, no, don't worry! If we need a distraction, I can do that just fine. No need to put anyone in danger.
  803. Hendrix: You spend the rest of the night trying to think up some plot while Lightkeeper dances and sings in the corner for some reason.
  804. Hendrix: Tell me, what plot did you come up with, what with all that info given out.
  805. Haretsu: (( well we've already got the bottleneck, I'd want to clear out a decent area, say, get the fuck rid of that wheelbarrow ))
  806. Haretsu: (( move it to block the ladder immediately below it ))
  807. Haretsu: (( or not wheelbarrow ))
  808. Haretsu: (( but hand cart ))
  809. Haretsu: (( whatever it is ))
  810. Hendrix: Alright so....
  811. Arte: (( I uh, need to be able to charge from somewhere agi ))
  812. Hendrix: Eh fuggit, you draw it, you're way better at this than I am
  813. Haretsu: (( so I'd be up on that thar platform myself, and Arte has a clear line to charge- oh you wanted to be in that? ))
  814. Arte: (( there's the only place I would not be immediately noticeable ))
  815. Haretsu: (( ah ))
  816. Haretsu: (( well you being in the way works too ))
  817. Haretsu: (( where should we move the wheelbarrow then ))
  818. Arte: (( just put it up against building A-4 ))
  819. Arte: (( block the stables off I guess ))
  820. Siegfried: *after I get out of them anyways*
  821. Haretsu: *fucking beautiful*
  822. Hendrix: huehue
  823. Hendrix: So, have you gotten this all out in order yet?
  824. Haretsu: *guess I am at least*
  825. Haretsu: *pretty sure Arte's supposed to be ON his lion*
  826. Haretsu: *but iunno*
  827. Hendrix: You prepare your devious plot, sleep over it, and wake up early, before the bandit's predicted arrival.
  828. Hendrix: Oleg and his wife remain in their house, while Lightkeeper is content to follow the closest person around and take any orders.
  829. Tarron: *now where should I be*
  830. Tarron: *I guess up there*
  831. Haretsu: So Arte, I'm just going to say it now - I'm going to be throwing some bombs when these things come around - let me get at least one off before running in if you could. Wouldn't want you to get caught in the blast.
  832. Haretsu: *you're just gonna be the only person in melee*
  833. Haretsu: *you poor, poor soul*
  834. Arte: *me and the hell lion*
  835. Arte: *he CAN attack, at least, 80% of the time*
  836. Hendrix: It seems you're all well and prepared for the upcoming ambush. And speaking of which, here comes a group of hooligans right now...
  837. Haretsu: You can take on a couple of bandits I'm sur- speaking of which, here they come. Better ready up myself.
  838. Hendrix: They arrive in from the direct south, riding on horseback, predictably an hour after sunrise.
  839. Haretsu: Heh, been hoping I'd get to use this early on. *heeere comes the mutagen, awesome how we get prep time*
  840. Arte: *you done went and mutated into a question mark*
  841. Arte: *you just outright become a dog*
  842. Arte: *not even an in-between*
  843. Haretsu: *well I'll probably get a better token later*
  844. Haretsu: *still bipedal/etc, just facial features and a more curved back, plus*
  845. Hendrix: As they arrive closer, you can hear a few of them singing a crude tune. They don't seem to be taking this job entirely seriously.
  846. Siegfried: Shit
  847. Siegfried: Sentient horse bandits
  848. Siegfried: Our worst nightmare
  849. Haretsu: (( maybe ))
  850. Spoony Davis: "Ooohooo, sing it with me again boys!"
  851. Siegfried: horse 1's doin doubletime
  852. Spoony Davis: "Wenches and hoes are like new clothes! Once you bought em, you wish you never got em! My name is engraved in the ground and when they check the lost and found...!
  853. Haretsu: *oh hey, just look at all those fagets within the splash radius*
  854. Eldrich: "*Paant paant* Okay, is THIS the place? This is the place right?"
  855. Happs Bydon: The hooded man leading the brigade looks around, seemingly expecting someone. "Alright old man, wake up!"
  856. Haretsu: *right I should probably be back a bit*
  857. Ravenclaw: "Kuh, was it really a good idea to bring the kid along?"
  858. Haretsu: *lying down or something*
  859. Spoony Davis: "Oh come on! This old coot can't do anything to us, he'll be just fine!"
  860. Eldrich: "...why are you talking down on me like that? Are you implying I can't handle anything for myself?"
  861. Happs Bydon: "Hey, can't you hear me? Don't play silent on me, old fart!"
  862. Arte: *Right, well, I think it's about time we stopped being silent*
  863. Haretsu: *oh dear god this is so perfect*
  864. Ravenclaw: *Hops off of horse* "Is he just absent or something?"
  865. Arte: *just gonna kill the kid too ain't ya*
  866. Haretsu: (( well he's a bandit isn't he (D) ))
  867. Eldrich: "Keh. Maybe he ran away scared? That's what old people do, don't they?"
  868. Haretsu: (( what's the bonus for high ground again, Thrice ))
  869. Arte: (( UNREPENDANT banditry is death (D) ))
  870. Arte: (( uh not sure if it applies to ranged, but it's +1 ))
  871. Haretsu: (( a'ight ))
  872. Hendrix: They stand around a bit joking and laughing around with eachother before just barging ahead. Wanna try anything out?
  873. Haretsu: (( I'm going to throw my bomb now, I know cover rules apply or something ))
  874. Arte: (( and you get it from being mounted so long as the opponent's not ))
  875. Haretsu: (( anyone else taking an action immediately ))
  876. Haretsu: (( still not totally sure how surprise round works ))
  877. Arte: (( well, it's a surprise round ))
  878. Arte: (( you get one move or standard action ))
  879. Hendrix: quite
  880. Arte: (( On higher ground +1 +0 ))
  881. Arte: (( yeah doesn't apply to ranged ))
  882. Haretsu: (( let's just check cover rules for juuust a sec ))
  883. Arte: (( sadly a charge is a full-round action ))
  884. Arte: (( So I can't actually hit any of em ))
  885. Haretsu: (( looks like partial cover in this case ))
  886. Haretsu: « 1d20+6-2 = 3 + 6 - 2 = 7 » *tosses bomb at spoony I guess*
  887. Haretsu: *m*
  888. Arte: (( well, still splash damage ))
  889. Arte: (( once you uh ))
  890. Haretsu: *everything in there can ref save, if applicable*
  891. Arte: (( roll for direction ))
  892. Haretsu: *...right I can't*
  893. Haretsu: *I JUST CAN'T THROW A BOMB*
  894. Arte: (( remember that whole rolling for direction thing ))
  895. Haretsu: *AS IT'S A FULL-ROUND ACTION : |(
  896. Arte: (( no, it's not ))
  897. Arte: (( it's standard ))
  898. Haretsu: (( oh apparently it is ))
  899. Haretsu: « 1d8 = 8 » misdirection it seems
  900. Arte: (( you CAN change it ))
  901. Haretsu: (( I will, however ))
  902. Arte: (( if you want ))
  903. Haretsu: (( be shifting it to be "1" ))
  904. Arte: (( we do still roll for init BTW ))
  905. Arte: « 1d20+2 = 7 + 2 = 9 » so may as well
  906. Tarron: « 1d20+1 = 12 + 1 = 13 »
  907. Haretsu: *so yeah everything in there can ref save for half damage, which would be 2, assuming they GET a ref save*
  908. Haretsu: « 1d20+5 = 7 + 5 = 12 »
  909. Eldrich: « 1d20+1 = 19 + 1 = 20 » Aw shit what?
  910. Eldrich: *dodges outta the way*
  911. Haretsu: *still 2 damage*

  917. Spoony Davis: "GYAAAAGH! BOMB! IT'S AN AMBUSH!
  918. Haretsu: (( but I dunno, either way this is definitely going to slow down battles more than it should ))
  919. Horse: "NEIIIIIIGH!"
  920. Haretsu: *barks in glee, sneers*
  921. Siegfried: *I obv act on Arte's turn*

  931. Ravenclaw: « 1d20+5-8 = 20 + 5 - 8 = 17 » Curses and skulls!

  937. Haretsu: (( Tarron/Lightkeeper can do their move/standard actions as well ))
  938. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 12 + 4 = 16 » *whistles*
  939. Haretsu: (( if they wanted to ))
  940. Tarron: *I'll just cast Sanctuary on myself*
  941. Tarron: *anyone who wants to attack me has to roll a will save, if they fail it, they can't*
  942. Tarron: *But I also can't attack*
  943. Lightkeeper: (( so wait ))
  944. Tarron: *...though it lasts only one round, but hippo*
  945. Lightkeeper: (( why did Harestsu roll twice again ))
  946. Tarron: (( http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/sanctuary ))
  947. Tarron: (( I have no idea ))
  948. Haretsu: (( I rolled the horses' reflex saves just to offer to save time ))

  951. Lightkeeper: yep erryone get surprise round

  960. Arte: (( so he's ))
  961. Arte: (( Shaken A shaken character takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. Shaken is a less severe state of fear than frightened or panicked. ))

  994. Happs Bydon: jesus fuck I forgot the music
  995. Haretsu: *cackles madly to self, prepares yet another bomb, lobs at Davis, he seems to be bad at dodging* « 1d20+6 = 6 + 6 = 12 »
  996. Happs Bydon: "GUUUUH!" The panicked bandit paid for his foolish act of bravado, and is now impaled on your lance.
  997. Haretsu: *does that hit touch AC*
  998. Happs Bydon: (( sure does ))
  999. Haretsu: « 1d6+4 = 5 + 4 = 9 » plus more splashing
  1000. Eldrich: H-Happs! I think he's dead!
1001. Spoony Davis: Goddamn move out! Move the hell ou-
1002. Hendrix: The bandits are then engulfed in an explosion before they could make any cowardly moves.
1003. Haretsu: KaBOOM! Eh heh heh.
1004. Lightkeeper: *Brushes shoulder off* That went well, didn't it? Laa tee da~
1005. Tarron: Oh my! What a sight! They couldn't be dead, could they?
1006. Happs Bydon: 150 exp for each of ya, ya hear
1007. Arte: (( A creature with greater than normal natural reach usually gets an attack of opportunity against you if you approach it, because you must enter and move within the range of its reach before you can attack it. This attack of opportunity is not provoked if you take a 5-foot step. ))
  1008. Arte: (( huh so yeah ))
1009. Haretsu: *hops offathe palisade, moves in to inspect work* 'ey, nice job there taking out the leader, Arte! Guy didn't know what was coming.
1010. Hendrix: Oleg bursts out of the door after seeing all of the bandits fall.
1011. Arte: Yeah, I don't think he was too bright.
1012. Arte: Who the fuck CHARGES the CAVALRY?
1013. Oleg: *Claps* Perfect! Just perfect!
  1014. Arte: That's MY job!
  1015. Haretsu: You got me!
1016. Oleg: "Dumbass bandits, think they can stomp over everything and expect them to bend over to their whims. Well look who's bein' stomped on today!"
1017. Haretsu: Heey, there's the big man himself. Took pretty quick work of them between a couple well-placed attacks.
1018. Svetlana: "Amazing....you made it look almost too easy."
1019. Arte: They didn't make it very hard.
1020. Arte: *guess I can just get off now, watch my step happy*
1021. Haretsu: (( obv we're nowhere CLOSE to levelling up, but where the hell is the XP chart anyway ))
  1022. Arte: (( it's 2k for level 2 ))
  1023. Haretsu: (( oh, Character Advancement ))
  1024. Arte: (( IIRC ))
1025. Haretsu: (( right, are we using Slow Medium or Fast ))
  1026. Arte: (( medium ))
1027. Oleg: "I do worry though, there are a few other bandits out there. They might come howling for revenge at any moment now."
1028. Oleg: "Bah! But knowing them, they're probably cowards at heart! They won't try anything funny for a looong time once I get these bodies nice and hung up."
  1029. Oleg: (( and yes, medium ))
1030. Oleg: "Take any damn gear you want from them, I'll take whatever's left over."
1031. Haretsu: *sniffs at the bodies* Sounds good to me. They should be out for a while after that.
1032. Tarron: Oh, we should get down now. The ladder's all the way over there...
1033. Arte: *Eh, fine, what's this guy even got on his ass*
1034. Oleg: "They sure will be, random talking dog. They sure will be."
1035. Haretsu: The leader of 'em was talking about this kid on the way in... *nudges with foot* Sounded like he was new to the group.
1036. Happs Bydon: leather armor, dagger, composite longbow (+2 Str) with 20 arrows, 2 days of trail rations, silver Stag Lord amulet worth 20 gp, 35 gp
1037. Spoony Davis: leather armor, longbow with 20 arrows, short sword, 2 days of trail rations, 10 gp, same applies to the others
1038. Haretsu: Rando- oh. Heh, right. You didn't notice the ears before? *scratches at* Same ol' me.
1039. Haretsu: (( jeez composite longbow already ))
  1040. Haretsu: (( not bad ))
1041. Haretsu: *yeah I'll be taking that GP over here*
1042. Oleg: "Good. That'll prove they shouldn't take ol' Oleg lightly in the slightest!"
1043. Haretsu: *the 30 from these fagets*
  1044. Hendrix: you sure are
1045. Arte: That bow doesn't look half bad. Not much of a shooter myself, but more options can't hurt. Some fancy little trinket we got here, too.
1046. Arte: *and yes, I'm the only person in the party who can even USE The bow*
  1047. Arte: *so hippo*
1048. Haretsu: *interest = raised* Yeah? What kind of trinket are we talking about?
  1049. Haretsu: *hobbles over*
1050. Arte: ...seen my fair share of strange beasts, but never anything like you.
1051. Haretsu: *smirks, rolls eyes* Just a side effect of the mutagen. Or the whole effect really. Wears off in a bit.
1052. Hendrix: It's a not-so-fancy amulet with the likeness of a stag's skull pressed within it
1053. Haretsu: So this guy had it on him, huh? Wonder if it means anything?
1054. Arte: Don't look at me, I don't know. You want it, take it, there's enough for me here.
1055. Haretsu: Sure. *takes* Been kind of scrounging lately, I can use all I can get. I'll ask about it.
1056. Arte: *I'll take the GP and the bow then*
1057. Arte: *and uh, the arrows obv*
1058. Oleg: "All right, I'll just be taking the rest, bodies included, here. Show 'em not to mess with me..."
1059. Haretsu: *frowns, concerned* You're taking the kid, too?
1060. Oleg: "What kid? All I see are wretched bandits, and I have a zero tolerance policy as you can so readily see!"
1061. Haretsu: *dammit Thrice you and your randomly turning off typing notifications*
1062. Arte: (( had to edit inventory ))
1063. Haretsu: *I have no idea if you're preparing a reply or not (D)*
1064. Tarron: The charter says only unrepentant bandits are to be killed, doesn't it? Are these the same ones that came last time?
1065. Tarron: *I should uh, probably un-fire them I guess*
1066. Oleg: "Well, I can recognize that damn hooded bastard from a mile away. Don't know who the rest of these losers are though, probably for good reason"
1067. Arte: The kid and the singing idiot didn't seem much like bandits to me, if you want my two cents.
1068. Arte: A bit unfair to call him an idiot, though, his boss outdid him.
  1069. Haretsu: Heh.
1070. Oleg: "Guh, are you seriously trying to say I should just let 'em run off in the wild or some shit?"
1071. Haretsu: Nah. Big boss? Go 'head and kill him. Probably worth keeping the rest of these alive for questioning though.
1072. Tarron: Well, they're bound to wake up soon enough! I think it'll be okay.
1073. Arte: Just thought I would mention this before they DO get up, whatever we're doing with them, if they're staying alive, tie those suckers up.
1074. Oleg: "Guh, fine. Sounds like a plan to me."
1075. Svetlana: *Ahem* "Do excuse my husband for getting a bit...worked up over these things, he's rather devoted to his causes."
1076. Haretsu: *been 10ish minutes by now, guess mutagen's worn off*
1077. Svetlana: "Either way, you've thankfully fended off those wretched bandits. While this may not be nearly enough to express my gratitude, I could always lend you full access to the guest house as long as you're here."
1078. Svetlana: "We'll even provide meals for free, 'kay?"
  1079. Oleg: *VISIBLY ANNOYED*
1080. Haretsu: *lightly clutches stomach as effects recede, covers burp with arm* Whatever you have to offer, we appreciate it. It will be nice to have something of a home to return to between scouting.
1081. Haretsu: And of course, we'll offer our protection should the need come again. Isn't that right?
1082. Tarron: Oh, that will be more than enough! Yes, if they come back, we will drive them off again! Right, Arte?
1083. Arte: Whatever you say. Long as they're loaded like these guys, I don't have a problem with it. Course, I don't plan to just be known as some bandit-beater for TOO long.
1084. Svetlana: *Claps hands* "Perfect! Feel free to rest here for as long as you want!"
1085. Hendrix: Big man Oleg wraps up the bandits tight with rope, and prepares to hang ol' Happ's now surely deadened body up next to a "BANDITS TURN THE « long string of expletives = Invalid expression: long string of expletives. » BACK" sign.
1086. Hendrix: That's how explicit it was
  1087. Haretsu: (( I like this guy already ))
1088. Hendrix: It's now the middle of the day, and nothing of note seems to be happening.
1089. Haretsu: *guess I'll ask Oleg about this talisman then (hmm)*
  1090. Haretsu: *assuming he's available*
1091. Oleg: Oleg rubs his chin when asked. "This piece of junk? Y'know, I saw it on a few other bandits too, even on that crazy lady who even took off my hand."
  1092. Oleg: (( *ALMOST ))
  1093. Haretsu: (( (XD) ))
1094. Oleg: (( get that even outta ther ))
  1095. Oleg: (( e ))
1096. Haretsu: Is it some sort of identification amongst the groups, then?
1097. Oleg: "Probably. Or maybe they worship some sort of evil stag demon?"
1098. Tarron: I've never heard of a religion like that...
  1099. Haretsu: (( MAYBE YOU HAVE ))
1100. Oleg: "Hey, you never know..."
  1101. Haretsu: (( ROLL FOR STAG LORE (D) ))
  1102. Tarron: « 1d20+9 = 12 + 9 = 21 » *only on a 1 or a 20*
  1103. Haretsu: (( 21's almost 20 ))
1104. Hendrix: Stags do not appear to have any visibly ordained clerics.
  1105. Haretsu: (( brb dying ))
  1106. Haretsu: Interesting...
1107. Arte: No matter what it is, we might as well hang onto it for now.
1108. Haretsu: *wonders if it's actually silver*
  1109. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 17 + 8 = 25 » => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 17 + 8 = 25 ».
1110. Haretsu: *just did an appraise roll on the thing*
1111. You whisper to Agi: you better damn well believe it's Silver
1112. Haretsu: Pure silver even. I may have use for this even after it's served its purpose. Whatever that may be. *repockets*
1113. Lightkeeper: The Lightkeeper whistles and dances around in the corner, he tends to do this often, calling it "practice." Around him are various floating balls of light, which would probably freak you out if you didn't already see it.
1114. Arte: Well, it's only midday. Could get started on what we really came here to do. First, I think we oughta talk to these crooks here.
1115. Tarron: Ooh, how do you get them to do that?! Mine is just regular light!
1116. Hendrix: You herd up the crooks in a room, whilst they're all nice and tied up with nothing on them.
1117. Hendrix: Well, except their clothes, unless you REALLY wanna go there.
1118. Haretsu: *would've searched them for concealed weapons, but yeah, clothes stay on*
1119. Lightkeeper: First you have to throw all your troubles away, and dance like you want to win!
1120. Haretsu: They're still knocked out, it seems...
1121. Haretsu: How long until they regain consciousness?
1122. Oleg: Oh I'll tell you! Right the hell now! *Gives Ravenclaw a good wake-up slap*
  1123. Haretsu: *that'll do*
1124. Ravenclaw: *Blinks* "Eh? What happened?"
1125. Tarron: Ooohh...I should learn how to dance, maybe!
  1126. Haretsu: *aw c'mon girl you're 87*
1127. Ravenclaw: *Looks around* "OOoooh, right, THAT happened."
1128. Haretsu: *how do you not know how to dance*
  1129. Tarron: *78 (D)*
  1130. Haretsu: *either way*
  1131. Haretsu: *same thing, really*
1132. Arte: Yep, that was a thing that happened.
1133. Ravenclaw: "So uh...you sure did get us! Ahahaha..."
  1134. Siegfried: Roauph.
1135. Ravenclaw: "....you're gonna let us go after this, right?"
1136. Ravenclaw: "I mean, golly, I know I did some things in the past I'm not exactly proud of, but that's waaaaay behind me, see?"
1137. Haretsu: Maybe, maybe not... we're sort of hoping you'd cooperate with us a bit.
  1138. Ravenclaw: "What? Who me?"
1139. Ravenclaw: "Oh, well of course I will! Though uh, depends on what you need me to cooperate with."
1140. Haretsu: Tell us a thing or two. Start off with some information, just the basics.
1141. Haretsu: Arte, you want to take this one?
1142. Arte: Take it? This isn't complicated; where's your hideout, leader, what's that symbol, that ja--*jazz doesn't exist* the whole shebang.
1143. Oleg: *Crosses arms and steps back* "Just be quick with it so I can knock the smarm off this idiot's face already."
1144. Haretsu: *well no, it's not complicated, but we could get a good cop bad cop routine going (D)*
1145. Ravenclaw: "Huh? Leader? You mean you don't even know?"
1146. Ravenclaw: "You don't know about the, uh..... uhhh...."
1147. Ravenclaw: "Crap, what's his name again...?"
1148. Haretsu: *is the person with Sense Motive REALLY outside of the roo- wait no that's you*
  1149. Haretsu: *nevermind*
1150. Ravenclaw: "Happs ran it by on my once, but golly, I seem to have forgotten. Sorry?"
  1151. Arte: « 1d20+6 = 20 + 6 = 26 » *Yeah, I may as well try to see if he's lying, if he is it's vs his bluff check*
  1152. Arte: *okay*
1153. Arte: *I think that might cut it*
1154. Haretsu: *blinks* You're telling me you forgot the name of your own leader?
1155. Ravenclaw: *He seems to be completely honest about this* "Hey, I haven't even met the guy yet, sue me!"
1156. Arte: Normally, I'd say he was pulling our legs. In this case, though, I truly think he's totally clueless/
1157. Haretsu: Well if you don't know what his actual name is... I don't know, nicknames? General appearance? Surely you at least know where the hideout is.
1158. Ravenclaw: "Hey, are you making fun of me now? Stop that!"
1159. Ravenclaw: "Well, I at least know what he looks like, that's for sure! He looks like uh...*points at the symbol* like that!"
1160. Tarron: Like the symbol? Is your leader a sort of animal deity?
1161. Haretsu: *looks down at symbol* ...so he wears a mask then?
1162. Ravenclaw: *Shrugs* "Irrunno. Why ask me? All I know is that he looks just like that symbol. But y'know, with people parts below it."
1163. Ravenclaw: "Alright! I told you the whole kit and kaboodle, now can you lemme go?"
1164. Haretsu: Not quite. For one, you still haven't told us anything about the base's whereabouts...
1165. Ravenclaw: "It's uh, down there. To the down."
  1166. Haretsu: Helpful.
  1167. Haretsu: I'll get a shovel.
  1168. Tarron: Down's not on the map...So it's south?
1169. Ravenclaw: "Well shucks, maybe it is! Don't remember needing to dig up here though..."
1170. Arte: Do you think it'd be too much to ask for distance?
1171. Ravenclaw: "Oh I'll tell you the distance. IT'S TOO FUCKING FAR. I mean FUCKING SERIOUSLY."
1172. Haretsu: "To the south" could mean anything. Forest, cave, captured fort.
1173. Ravenclaw: "Why the hell did you need to be stationed all the way up here? Do you know how many times my legs fell asleep on the way here?"
  1174. Haretsu: *takes a guess* « 1d20+4 = 7 + 4 = 11 » *int check to get a closer guess*
  1175. Haretsu: *aw*
  1176. Arte: Weren't you riding a horse?
  1177. Haretsu: 6 times?
  1178. Ravenclaw: "7, but that's close enough"
1179. Ravenclaw: "I mean, if I needed to make a guess, I'd say it took like...3 days just to jut our way up here?"
1180. Ravenclaw: "Yes, a marvelous bounty of information! Now will you lemme go?"
1181. Arte: Huh, well, how many of you are there? We know of the axe woman and, well, what used to be Happs.
1182. Arte: *Pretty sure one of them said his name anyhow*
1183. Tarron: How many people do these bandit leaders command...
  1184. Ravenclaw: "Uh....a bit?"
1185. Ravenclaw: "I mean sheesh, do you think I bothered to count this kind of crap? I can hardly count how many toes I have!"
1186. Tarron: *WELL NOT WITH YOUR SHOES ON, NO, I MEAN THAT'S JUST TOO GRAND OF AN EXPECTATION (D)*
1187. Haretsu: *rubs temple* I'm sure you can wager a guess.
1188. Ravenclaw: "Uh, let's see, there's uh...Hernando...Montery...Jex the Snitch....Topper Red....uh, that guy who wears plaid every friday night...that asshole who totally stole my apple cake the other day....uh...some guy who had an unusually hairy mole..."
  1189. Tarron: (( >Monterey ))
  1190. Tarron: (( damn it Jack (D) ))
  1191. Tarron: (( You stay outta this (D) ))
  1192. Haretsu: (( perfect ))
1193. Tarron: (( Monterey Jack totally does sound like a bandit name now that I think of it. ))
1194. Ravenclaw: "There was a guy in red who had this pet sheep...or maybe it was a a sheep in red who had this pet guy..."
1195. Tarron: Stealing? Well, you are bandits, after all! That's only to be expected.
1196. Haretsu: So we're talking around a dozen? Including your associates here.
1197. Ravenclaw: "Sure, let's go with a dozen." *Blank face*
1198. Arte: No, sorry, I'm not buying that a hive of bandits only has twelve members. Do you even know how many a dozen is? « 1d20+6 = 13 + 6 = 19 »
  1199. Haretsu: (( well hey ))
1200. Haretsu: (( they all have names ))
1201. Haretsu: (( that makes them like 10x more powerful ))
1202. Tarron: You shouldn't have said it if you wanted him to guess! Could any of the others answer better?
1203. Ravenclaw: "Sure! A dozen is like, two furlongs, right?"
1204. Haretsu: If they answer the same as he does, we'll know we have the righ-...
1205. Haretsu: *we really dealing with this kind of stupidity*
1206. Haretsu: *I think we really dealing with this kind of stupidity (D)*
1207. Ravenclaw: "...whachu lookin' at me like that for?"
1208. Arte: Okay, I'm going to wake one of the others up.
1209. Haretsu: ...no reason. I think that's all we need from you.
1210. Arte: *prods Spoony Davis with lance*
  1211. Arte: « 1d20+4+1 = 3 + 4 + 1 = 8 » *You shouldn't have made me roll my attack, you even take penalties for being helpless (D)*
  1212. Arte: *damn it*
  1213. Haretsu: *you moron*
1214. Arte: *I don't think he can dodge (SAD)*
1215. Spoony Davis: *Shakes head* "Blubububub"
1216. Arte: (( A creature that is tied up is "bound" which means it has the Helpless condition. A helpless target is treated as having a Dexterity of 0 (–5 modifier). Melee attacks against a helpless target get a +4 bonus (equivalent to attacking a prone target). ))
  1217. Arte: (( m ))
1218. Spoony Davis: *Looks around* "Eh? Eh?"
1219. Spoony Davis: *Looks at you* "EH? EH?"
1220. Tarron: Give him a minute.
1221. Spoony Davis: Davis grows sad googly animu eyes and begins gushing tears "AAAAAAAAAAH I'M SOSOOORRRY I DON'T WANNA DIIIIIIIIIE"
  1222. Haretsu: ...
1223. Haretsu: They come in all sorts, don't they?
1224. Spoony Davis: "BWUH I'LL DO ANYTHING, I'M SERIOUS, I GOT A GIRLFRIEND BACK AT HOME AND EVERYTHING, I DON'T WANNA LEAVE 'ER ALONE WITHOUT ME"
1225. Arte: Quiet, quiet! What you can do first is stop yelling!
1226. Eldrich: *Shakes head* "Uurrgh, are you bawling to yourself again Davis?"
1227. Spoony Davis: *Sniffles sniffles* "Kid! You're all right! You're not dead at all!"
1228. Tarron: Oh, he's right! Isn't that great?
1229. Eldrich: "Please, you'll have to forgive us for David's behavior. He tends to get like that when the going gets rough"
1230. Tarron: *Don't you mean Davis*
1231. Spoony Davis: *Sniffles* "I only do it because I care, kid! Hey, why are you so calm about this! We're gonna die, I just know it!"
  1232. Eldrich: *Nope, David*
1233. Arte: Hey, hey, if you were going to die, you'd be dead.
1234. Spoony Davis: "Please, if you're gonna slaughter us all, keep the kid alive! He has his whole life ahead of him and everything! We can't help it if we really needed the money!"
  1235. Spoony Davis: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0r3wsLwOu1r7nve3.gif
1236. Spoony Davis: *exactly like that*
  1237. Eldrich: "(ﺧ益ﺨ) C'mon, really...."
1238. Arte: Ugh, look, we're not going to kill you. You have me to thank for that! Hadn't been for me, he just might've! *pointing to Oleg* He doesn't like you guys, for what should be obvious reasons.
  1239. Oleg: *Looks on sternly*
  1240. Spoony Davis: *whimpers*
1241. Haretsu: ...after a display like that I don't think we can really kill you. Look, just answer a few questions for us, double-checking an answer or two, then give Mr. Oleg here the apology he deserves.
1242. Ravenclaw: "Well I gotta say, heaven's bless you man. The world needs more people like you, albiet with slightly less explosions. I mean really, that scared the living daylights outta me like you wouldn't believe."
1243. Eldrich: "Sure, if it gets you off our back, what is it you want?"
1244. Arte: Kid, need I remind you that I'm the one holding the lance, and backed by a demonic lion from the depths of who-knows-where? You might just want to lay off the smart talk and comply.
1245. Haretsu: *acknowledges Ravenclaw with the faintest of smiles, mostly at the last sentence* We need a name for your boss - your OLD boss, mind you, you're out of that line of work now, maybe an estimate of your numbers, and a bit more of a description than "south" for this base. Mountains? Forest? We need to know what to expect.
1246. Haretsu: We're reclaiming these lands, and you'd better believe that's a target.
1247. Eldrich: *Looks smugly at Arte before turning over to the fox guy* "You mean the Stag Lord? You wanna take him out or something?"
1248. Eldrich: "Keh keh, easier said than done, freak."
1249. Haretsu: Most things are. Doesn't make them impossible.
1250. Tarron: Well, that guy went down quick enough! This Stag Lord, he can't be too much stronger! Oh, is the name supposed to be literal? Like a god of deer?
1251. Arte: I don't think a bandit would be advertising that...
1252. Arte: It really doesn't come off as threatening. But he CALLS himself that, anyways.
1253. Eldrich: "His base is directly down to the southwest, if you really need to know. It's a pretty direct route, see."
1254. Eldrich: "There's a bridge or two along the way, but it should be pretty smooth sailing if you're that desperate to run to your deaths."
1255. Haretsu: Mmm. And how long...? Again, we've already received one answer, but it doesn't hurt to get two.
1256. Eldrich: *Smirk* "Took about 3 days to get up here. Could probably take less if you're in a rush."
1257. Haretsu: Alright, that checks out.
1258. Spoony Davis: "Guh! You mean you're really let us go?! Weeeaallly?"
1259. Arte: Oh, I'm not going right off the bat. Neither are you, Tarron! That would go right against my mission. Now we know where it is, we can avoid the place.
  1260. Haretsu: (( Really what's with the hiding typing notifications (D) ))
  1261. Haretsu: (( it's throwing me off (D) ))
  1262. Arte: (( what's not ))
1263. Arte: (( they've no real bearing on what you say (D) ))
1264. Haretsu: (( No, but they've bearing on whether I say something in the FIRST place ))
1265. Haretsu: (( so we aren't talking over eachother ))
  1266. Haretsu: (( (hippo) ))
1267. Arte: I don't think we should let them run on out of here just yet.
  1268. Arte: (( eh, that's a flaw that I think typing notifications cause ))
  1269. Arte: (( guy A is typing so guy B stops ))
1270. Oleg: "Trust me, if I had a say in it? You'd be nothing more than a pretty decoration by now."
1271. Haretsu: (( If someone else is talking IRL, you don't talk over them ))
1272. Arte: (( even if their subjects have nothing to do with each other ))
  1273. Arte: (( But see ))
  1274. Arte: (( we're using maptool ))
  1275. Spoony Davis: "Meep!"
  1276. Arte: (( not IRL ))
  1277. Arte: (( They work differently ))
  1278. Haretsu: (( Not really naw ))
1279. Haretsu: My next question is what, exactly, you plan on doing next.
1280. Spoony Davis: "Getting the blue blazes outta here, that's what!"
1281. Arte: I don't think they'll be sending anyone here soon...not after this. But if we let these guys go and report this? They just might.
1282. Ravenclaw: "Yeah totally. This place totally smells like updog."
1283. Siegfried: *Hey, lions are CATS*
  1284. Siegfried: *not dogs*
1285. Haretsu: Yeah, where to? It's not like you have a lot of options right now.
1286. Haretsu: *yes yes what's up dog not much what's up with you you're supposed to be the stupid one, Raven (D)*
  1287. Siegfried: *he is*
1288. Siegfried: *he does not know the joke*
1289. Haretsu: *right, so he is*
1290. Spoony Davis: "Uh, back home of course! Where else to! Got a girlfriend and everything! You're coming with too, right kid?"
1291. Eldrich: "Depends. Where did Happs run off to?"
  1292. Arte: The afterlife.
1293. Arte: Not many choices after you run into a spearhead.
1294. Eldrich: *Smiles* "I see. He always was the weakest one." *Shakes head nonchalantly* "Honestly, I don't see what Kressle saw in that man."
1295. Tarron: Who? Would you explain?
1296. Eldrich: "Oh, Kressle. Just another lowlife, like me or them. Probably you too."
1297. Eldrich: "We all appear to walk the fragile line of death each time we roam out here. I do wonder how Kressle will take the news."
1298. Spoony Davis: "Duuude, you can stop now, it's all over."
1299. Eldrich: "Heh heh heh...so, should we lose the ropes yet?"
1300. Tarron: Lowlifes...we won't be soon! Oh wait, we're not now, are we?
1301. Arte: Officially, I might be. But Siegfried over there has a higher social standing than these guys.
1302. Arte: And you really shouldn't try to break out of the ropes, if that's what you're insinuating there.
1303. Eldrich: "Now why would I try anything like that? You would kill me in an instant, wouldn't you?"
1304. Eldrich: "Keh, I know my limits."
1305. Arte: I could. We really should keep you here, to stop you from alerting your friends about this. We can take you, we've demonstrated that...and nobody's sneaking past Siegfried at night. Especially not if that door's closed. But we can't be here all the time, so you'll have to stay tied up while we're gone, at least for the first few days.
1306. Arte: Anyone else have a better idea?
1307. Spoony Davis: "Oh COME ON kid! Did you HAVE to screw everything up like that?"
1308. Eldrich: "It's not like you had anything more enriching to say, David."
1309. Tarron: Traders come by here, don't they? You can even send a letter to your girlfriend!
1310. Spoony Davis: "Baybee, it's just not the same! Just not the same at all, man!"
1311. Eldrich: "Fine. If you wanna keep us here, so be it. It's far preferrable to being dead at least."
1312. Ravenclaw: "Kid's just gonna take it, huh? Well I see how it is."
1313. Arte: I'll say this, it's definitely not in your best interests to run. Siegfried there can track you as far as you can run and further, and he's a hell of a lot faster. And you don't have to give Oleg much of a reason to strike you down.
1314. Siegfried: *horses indeed have scent*
  1315. Haretsu: *since when're you a horse*
1316. Siegfried: *I'm statted as one*
  1317. Siegfried: *lol*
1318. Haretsu: *does it count (D)*
1319. Siegfried: *I'd say lions have scent too if you wanna go there*
  1320. Haretsu: *MAYBE (D)*
1321. Eldrich: "You hear that? We definitely don't wanna be made a sunflower out of."
  1322. Spoony Davis: "Bwuhluh unfaaaaaair!"
  1323. Agi is disconnected.
1324. Ravenclaw: "Y'know, a guy could get used to a place like this. It's not like the camp was that cozy either. Plus, actual lighting!"
1325. Hendrix: *Tosses a UR A FAGET paper to Agi's corpse*
  1326. Tarron: (( exactly ))
  1327. Agi has connected.
  1328. Tarron: (( faget ))
  1329. Haretsu: (( Connection just sorta naw's ))
  1330. Haretsu: (( *'d ))
  1331. Haretsu: *something about sunflowers*
1332. Ravenclaw: "Y'know, a guy could get used to a place like this. It's not like the camp was that cozy either. Plus, actual lighting!"
1333. Tarron: There, there, it'll all be okay! *mage hand toward Davis, spirit pats him on the shoulder*
1334. Hendrix: and that's all you missed
1335. Haretsu: ...it'll be up to Oleg, really. This is his place, his call. Kid, you're probably going to want to keep that mouth of yours in check, whether you stay here or not.
1336. Oleg: *Crosses arms* "You're -damn- right I'll have a zero tolerance policy if you try and fling any bullshit around here. You'll be working you're damn asses off around here if you wanna live, and you'll do it with a payment of daily table scraps!"
1337. Oleg: (( first person who points out the you're is a nerd ))
  1338. Tarron: (( so you ))
  1339. Tarron: (( wait ))
  1340. Tarron: (( uh ))
  1341. Tarron: (( that's the right usage of you're ))
  1342. Haretsu: (( 10/10 ))
  1343. Tarron: (( oh ))
1344. Hendrix: you'll be working you are damn asses off?
  1345. Tarron: (( okay there was a second ))
1346. Hendrix: Must be really fucking late then
1347. Tarron: (( I only saw the first hippo ))
  1348. Haretsu: (( ah same ))
1349. Ravenclaw: "Eh, probably better than that slop we get at the encampment."
1350. Spoony Davis: "Hey, that was some GOOD slop, you disrespectful turd!"
1351. Arte: It's as good as you deserve for losing so badly. And the banditry, of course.
1352. Ravenclaw: "Riiiight, I forgot you were just in charge of the food back there."
1353. Ravenclaw: "Probably the biggest mistake we made this past week, really."
1354. Arte: *damn lightkeeper sleepin his ass off on the bench*
1355. Eldrich: "Heh heh. Good idea. You never know, if you let us out there, we could have always just grown stronger....and stronger...and slowly-"
1356. Spoony Davis: "Can you PLEASE untie us so I can cover the kid's mouth already?"
1357. Lightkeeper: « 1d100 = 64 » dubs and I've been dancing on the bench this whole time
  1358. Lightkeeper: awww
  1359. Haretsu: « 1d100 = 26 »
  1360. Arte: « 1d100 = 90 » iuno
1361. Haretsu: not close at all
1362. Arte: Oh, I'm not worried about you guys getting stronger. You're weaker than I am now, and you always will be.
  1363. Haretsu: (( jesus you're a dick (D) ))
1364. Arte: *hey it's the truth*
1365. Arte: *I'm stronger, so if we both get stronger at the same rate*
1366. Arte: *I will still be stronger*
1367. Arte: *took out their leader in one hit (D)*
  1368. Haretsu: (( naw ))
  1369. Arte: *Because level 1 (D)*
1370. Hendrix: Oleg takes the bandits away and puts them to work on the usual hassle-filled dirty labor. The sun is now setting at this point, as you're treated to a hearty dinner courtesey of Svetlana.
1371. Hendrix: The sun is just barely peeking through now, and there's otherwise not much else going on.
1372. Ravenclaw: "Guh, I swear, makin' us pick up the mess you freaks made with that explosion, what an injustice..."
1373. Arte: Us? Hey, I didn't explode anything.
  1374. Tarron: I can't do that yet...One day, though!
1375. Haretsu: Injustice? Remind me why I needed to use them again?
1376. Hendrix: If there's naught else to do, so do you rest to see another day?
  1377. Hendrix: -so
1378. Haretsu: (( wait I thought we were talking at the dinner table ))
1379. Hendrix: Let's reeewind things then
1380. Arte: *clearly these schmucks are at the dinner table with us*
  1381. Haretsu: *I thought they might've been?*
1382. Haretsu: *I have no idea*
1383. Arte: *let's just use the damned park tables*
  1384. Haretsu: *sure*
1385. Arte: *I don't think the actual dinner table is that big*
1386. Ravenclaw: *We're scrubbing all the floors in hyrule, what else (D)*
  1387. Haretsu: *c'mon over folks*
1388. Siegfried: *and let's move this back over*
1389. Siegfried: *yeah you ain't goin nowhere*
1390. Siegfried: *you can probalby un-KO yourselves though*
  1391. Haretsu: *maybe*
1392. Haretsu: *looks over* That lion of yours makes for quite the guard.
1393. Arte: Guard, mount, hunter...he's pretty much everything. Good thing, too, or I'd have some complaints. Best thing about him is his looks, you should see people's faces when they see him!
1394. Svetlana: "So, you called yourselves explorers didn't you? If it wasn't to fend off these vile bandits, what brought you over to our neck of the woods?"
1395. Haretsu: Heh, guess I'll be able to see that plenty over the next couple months. I'm still getting used to him myself.
1396. Tarron: They sent us to explore! Chart the lands! Oh, and drive out the bandits.
1397. Lightkeeper: "See, she has the right idea, she does~"
1398. Haretsu: Oh, you hadn't heard yourself? I guess our respective informants didn't exchange notes. Yes, we're a scouting party down to the stolen lands.
1399. Oleg: .....(How are you even eating....?)
1400. Tarron: *he shoves his hand up through the bottom of the cloak part*
1401. Haretsu: (( the beak might pull out a bit (hmm) ))
1402. Svetlana: "Interesting....actually, it's a wonder why nobody in Brevoy tried this earlier. The Stolen Lands are a mess, they are..."
1403. Svetlana: "Can't exactly tell you why aside from the obvious...but any attempt to drive out this accursed bandits more than all right with me."
  1404. Svetlana: *these
1405. Hendrix: You lot talk about various topics as you finish your dinner. The sun is now completely gone, and it's all night and cold like.
1406. Hendrix: Anything you wish to get done before you head off to bed.
1407. Haretsu: *not in terms of crunch I guess, though I'll be fiddling with my bombs/mutagens a bit, trying to make sure everything's as it should be*
1408. Hendrix: Then you all get some much-needed beddy bye and wake up to see the rich morning sun vanquish the horrible night.
1409. Hendrix: Also it gives me a proper segue into ending it on a not-awkward note, see how that works.
  1410. Arte: (( nuo ))
  1411. Haretsu: (( maybe ))
  1412. Haretsu: (( so wait we're ending here ))
1413. Hendrix: Once upon a time, Agi
1414. Haretsu: *damn I'd sort of hoped to get some fun in*
1415. Hendrix: There was a time where we usually ended games at 3:00 AM
  1416. Haretsu: I don't believe it
  1417. Haretsu: like, at all
1418. Haretsu: That doesn't seem physically possible
1419. Haretsu: Did seem kind of abrupt to just cut there, I'd expected a bit more RPing
1420. Haretsu: but then again, these ain't your characters
  1421. Haretsu: except Lightkeeper
1422. Haretsu: so I get it
1423. Hendrix: This session had plenty of filler as-is
1424. Arte: we did plenty of RPing
  1425. Arte: like
  1426. Haretsu: I mean
1427. Arte: the actual battle was
  1428. Hendrix: I mean gawd
  1429. Arte: thirty minutes?
1430. Hendrix: how much RPing do you need
  1431. Haretsu: oh whatever
1432. Arte: Out of the 4 hours
  1433. Haretsu: I dunno (D)
  1434. Arte: or 5
  1435. Hendrix: I fuckin'
1436. Hendrix: gave the random faceless ass bandits their own identities (D)
1437. Hendrix: You don't get much more RP than that (D)
1438. Haretsu: Yeah but I mean talking amongst the party (crs)
1439. Hendrix: Oh, you had plenty of chances for that
1440. Arte: We indeed could have while setting them up the bomb
1441. Hendrix: I was just sorta moving things along, see
1442. Haretsu: I tried to initiate it several times
1443. Hendrix: gotta speak up once in a while
  1444. Haretsu: but eh
1445. Arte: But in-character we've already kinda talked
  1446. Arte: about everything
1447. Arte: as we met days ago
  1448. Haretsu: well that's
  1449. Haretsu: bad
  1450. Hendrix: Hey
1451. Haretsu: hell that's skipping the most fun part (D)
1452. Hendrix: It's up to you what you didn't and did speak about
1453. Haretsu: Apparently we spoke about everything
  1454. Hendrix: You met
1455. Hendrix: and hauled ass over here
1456. Hendrix: If you somehow spoke about everything while hauling ass well, congrats, I don't even know how you did that (D)
  1457. Haretsu: Neither do
  1458. Haretsu: O
  1459. Haretsu: sure
  1460. Haretsu: but I don't either
  1461. Arte: It ain't like they're cars
  1462. Hendrix: Eggzactly
1463. Hendrix: if it bothers you that much, you have loads and loads of more time to talk about it on the road.
1464. Hendrix: because jesus christ it just takes like
1465. Hendrix: 5 hours to run through an entire hex
1466. Haretsu: All of the interparty talking will indeed be off-camera
1467. Haretsu: we will be best of friends while simultaneously knowing nothing about eachother
1468. Arte: 5 or 6 or something yeah
1469. Hendrix: Well, keep in mind the book doesn't take into account Phatchattian RPing
1470. Hendrix: If you wanna get some of that in, you're gonna have to trigger it yourself
1471. Haretsu: We had just started to (D)
1472. Hendrix: because I'll obviously have a hard time doing it as I'm not gonna instantly blow my load with Lightkeeper.
1473. Hendrix: Though uh, even with the book aside
1474. Hendrix: I thought it was universally accepted fact that all "assumed" convos are non-canon babbling, if there's any convos at all
1475. Hendrix: and it's just everything that's occasionally RPed that actually matters
1476. Hendrix: Sorta like in every other piece of media ever
  1477. Haretsu: I dunno
1478. Haretsu: I just kind of like having pointless conversations
1479. Haretsu: is this a crime
  1480. Arte: We like
  1481. Arte: just had one
1482. Arte: for two hours or os
1483. Haretsu: That wasn't pointless though
1484. Hendrix: Bandit faggotry fest indeed took it all out of me
1485. Hendrix: I had no more bullshit left for the day
1486. Hendrix: Either way, this was the introductory phase, which is pretty linear.
1487. Hendrix: Everything after this though becomes an unbound clusterfuck
1488. Hendrix: where you'll probably have absolutely no choice but to have constant pointless convos if you want any RPing at all.
  1489. Haretsu: good
1490. Arte: well if you're going to force these at least wait till we have something to talk about
1491. Arte: like when we get raped by spiders
1492. Haretsu: We've plenty to talk about already though
1493. Haretsu: Unless you assume ALL of it took place off-camera
1494. Hendrix: All right, new ruling
1495. Haretsu: That, or unless you assume we are absolutely uninterested in anything anyone else is doing
1496. Hendrix: Everything that you want to talk about has never been talked about off-camera
1497. Hendrix: bam, it's final, ThatDM has spoken.
  1498. Arte: WEll alright
1499. Arte: but I don't particularly want to just
1500. Arte: post my damned backstory
1501. Arte: in the middle of a session
  1502. Haretsu: why would you
1503. Arte: that's all we have to talk about
1504. Hendrix: Emphasis on "WANT" to talk about
