None of them taking their shoes off near the end was a nice show of their degrading/shocked mental state.

I like that the mother going into hysterics makes perfect sense with what we were shown. The psyche of a person saying those things is usually much less relatable for the average person looking in from the outside.

Many of the shots were filmed in a dollhouse sort of way where the fourth wall existed was "invisible" from that perspective. Pretty neat.
