  1. It looks as if the event rift swallows the party whole. Looks like it's time for a trip..!
  2. [16:53] There the individual in question beside the enigma had yet to be fully addressed. It nearly felt as though just in the midst of their conversation were they suddenly being taken upon a journey of the sorts.
  3.
  4. "Well, boy. . . Look where we've come and gone? I must say, you're the first I've spoken to on this island that's managed to sweep me off my feet."
  5.
  6. With every step taken the being took to stretching out their limbs from the rifting ways.
  7.
  8. A toll taken on their mind, humbly so as they faced their acquainted friend.
  9.
  10. "We should explore the location, what fair would it be to not? Someone or something has surely called for us, me. . . You?" Though they'd yet to share names.
  11.
  12. The ashen male took to removing the barriers of awkwardness and cozily spoke as though the two shared a sense of longevity between them.
  13. (Abyss)
  14.
  15.
  16. [16:57] {NARRATION} Heralding the party's arrival is a sweet wind that paraded as a swiveling dance, briskly passing the skin of each member, the smell of salt only stopping after a couple steps are taken away from the sandy beaches of the island traveled to. The task at hand was simple-- to find a way to unseal the hidden occultism from within Zariel. Just as the... Creature accompanying him had said, exploration was a must!
  17.
  18. The island appearing just off the coast seems to be relatively peaceful, with the sound of crashing waves being the only thing interrupting the quiet nature. Perhaps it is only a facade, or it may be the nature of the island, but trace amounts of occultic energy may be felt along the land.
  19.
  20. From where both had set foot, there is a clear path ahead, guarded only by a shield of tropical trees and exotic flowers. Smoke is seen rising from the distance.
  21.
  22. Should the group charge forward into relatively new land? Or should they return from whence they came?
  23.
  24. It was time to choose.
  25. [17:02] Zariel chuckled at the spirit's comments before giving their surroundings a look.. Nothing but trees, ocean, wind etc.. The place was a bit strange, slightly familiar but nothing to pique any further thought..
  26.
  27. "Ah yes, we should explore, my name is Zariel, I can't remember if we've properly met or not but there you go.. I saw we head towards where that smoke is..
  28.
  29. This path here should lead us in the general direction hopefully.." His tone was as casual as demeanor was alert.
  30.
  31. His occult energy, one casually flaring and dancing about was now more steady as if on edge..
  32.
  33.
  34. (Zariel)
  35.
  36.
  37. [17:08] {NARRATION} It was another step in the right direction. As shrubbery attacked and plants detached their thorns into the unobservant, the stretch of land is crossed and soon enough a house becomes visible just along the shore.
  38.
  39. The question of where the smoke might have come from was quickly answered if one could look up.
  40.
  41. Upon closer inspection, the house is not the regular type of home that somebody could expect. This house is more akin to a log cabin with a thached roof above, only held together by many different bindings and specially placed sticks.
  42.
  43. The smell of cooked meat wafts through the air, pressing itself up against the noses of everyone involved in the area's delightful event. Unexpected to some, surely, but perhaps the one which had sought the help of another could deduce that which was contained within the dainty shack. An ascetic's, possibly.
  44.
  45. If the group pressed on, they would find a fire pit coupled together with a strange individual with his back turned, a cloak draped over his shoulders and head-- black as midnight. Broad shoulders stretched out. The fire pit was being tended to, and the smell of cooked meat only grew to nip even stronger. A few different workstations are placed along the home's sides.
  46.
  47. He seems to be unaware. What should the party do?
  48.
  49. Further inland brings the scent of occultism once more, light but clearly present. What might be happening further inland? Nothing to worry about for the moment.
  50. [17:14] Making way forward, they enigma took to following close behind the other. Leaving only their vermilion hues to remain vigilant. Despite the ever growing sensations of occultism. . . Not as though they minded, but rather.
  51.
  52. Embraced the feelings.
  53.
  54. Eager to find the source and would they come across it now?
  55.
  56. "Maybe you should go say hello to them? I doubt they bite.~" The enigma teased, inching closer to the males back as suddenly two hands came to press against the loose fitted clothing zariel had.
  57.
  58. And pushed him forward, surely making enough noise to catch the strangers attention.
  59. (Abyss)
  60.
  61.
  62. [17:20] Zariel's feet hovered a safe distance away from the ground, His movement was quiet but not without sound. Using his gravity magic, he'd move leaves and entire branches out of his way, making a decent bit of sound along the way.
  63.
  64. The same had just happened.
  65.
  66. Abyss pushing Zariel forward into some low hanging branches. Out of necessity to keep stains from his high quality tailored outfit, Zariel forcefully moved the branches apart, causing quite a bit of noise..
  67.
  68. "Mmm, I suppose I have no choice now.." He'd say, not really mad at the gesture as he squinted at the stranger's silhouette.
  69.
  70. Only faintly did he notice the occultism trailing further inland, though his attention was dead set on the anticipation of the stranger's reaction..
  71. (Zariel)
  72.
  73.
  74. [17:24] {NARRATION} The only obvious thing to do was to somehow get the individual's attention, and not to stab him in the back, or in the throat, or murder him in any way at all. If that opportunity was jumped on, maybe with enough scavenging there could be something of interest found.
  75.
  76. It was rude to search the homes of people which you did not murder, now! Not right for Abyss or Zariel to do that. It was almost a free land here, however.
  77.
  78. Leaning over a pot placed atop the fire, with a cooking spit attached to the top of it, the individual turns his head, oak-brown optics staring down the party. Not placed into a glare, but rather a look of confusion. Attracted by the noise that both of the two adventurers had created, sharp ears picking it up quickly. From the push to many leaves and twigs being snapped apart just to make way for Zariel's float.
  79.
  80. ..And These people were? It was a decent moment before the man blinked a few times. A relative, and an unknown creature that took its place next to him. His lips pried themselves open and a coarse voice rang out.
  81.
  82. "My.. Why have you come here, after so long? And who have you brought along with you?" He'd stare at Abyss for a moment only to plunge his expression into one of momentary shock, quickly changing to a small grin.
  83.
  84. He'd await a response, now fully facing the group. In his hands is a curved blade that did not adhere to any normal state of the word 'dagger', but twisted at odd angles and strange points. Most definitely not used to attack, but ones with knowledge in religions of Gehenna might understand that this was a tool used for sacrificial deeds.
  85.
  86. The shining blade did not have a speck of dirt on it, or even the stray bit of flesh. It is quickly sheathed in a small leather pouch attached to the man's hip. The unnamed man has gloves on, and it is clear now that the blade or sun was not interfering with sight. These gloves contain a few runes etched into the plate metal supporting them, and guarding the knuckles. Many runes that had a similar appearance lined themselves within the folds of his cloak as well; possibly something to signify his occupation.
  87.
  88. The fire slightly singed the meat cooking on the fire, but that was not something so easily sensed without a pair of eyes to slave over the task, and the man's eyes were off looking at the two expectantly. All the while a cauldron bubbled nearby, with another fire just underneath it yet smaller. Now the smell which arrived from that? Rancid, putrid even. Disgusting to breathe in.
  89.
  90. Plans were laid out on a desk nearby, winds almost blowing them away if it had not been for a paperweight.
  91.
  92. "--Oh! You.. Two have caught me at a bad time. I was just cooking a meal for myself after a long day of work--" He'd wave to the cauldron and plans, "--As you can see."
  93. [17:31] From the vegetation did the enigma arise, stepping beside the male as the stranger suddenly came to the realization there was a welcoming duo of guest that arrived.
  94.
  95. Eyeing them closely, careful consideration was held towards the strangers weapon. And though no reaction was held, the enigma was held off a bit by the stranger, very suddenly.
  96.
  97. And so, they leaned over to whisper a few words in to Zariels ear.
  98.
  99. "Nearly feels as though the man knows you, if this is a reunion. I'd ask you tend to their desires to do more than speak. Should the need arise."
  100.
  101. Pulling away as they quietly placed the palm of their hand over the males shoulder. Crafting an odd sensation of weight as they pressed down to reassure zariel.
  102.
  103. That they'd best tend to heeding their words.
  104.
  105. Not long after their palm was removed and so was the sensation.
  106. (Abyss)
  107.
  108.
  109. [17:37] It took him a moment to refocus his vision but eventually he'd come to see that it was...
  110.
  111. "I'll be damned, Zoros I haven't seen you in so long." He'd say before taking off his hood. The resemblance was clear enough to any who might be curious about their relation.
  112.
  113. Zariel would give Abyss a nod before hovering over to his brother to give him a hug. Then suddenly, Zariel was almost one-shot by the foul stench..
  114.
  115. Holding his nose a bit he'd ask, "Ya' don't say what is it you're cooking exactly." Zariel's tone was one different from anything he said on Agartha, it was actually filled with admiration and happiness..
  116.
  117. After what was almost a decade, Zariel had finally reunited with family.
  118. (Zariel)
  119.
  120.
  121. [17:45] {NARRATION} Both of his oaken eyes shut, gloved finger raising to tune itself with the tone of their voices. Each string, each word was parsed with significant speed. His eyes opened once more and spread themselves on Zariel, the one which he knew out of the band of two. Zoros' only response to his was a quick nod. It had been much too long since the two talked, and ay pleasantries are accepted with a hearty laugh, eyes occasionally drifting to Abyss. But...
  122.
  123. No words escaped his mouth this time, but rather a turn of the heel. Steel-toed boots pressed into the ground and dragged stones and grass with them. Back now turned, the cloaked one's hand fingered along the strange Gehennan dagger for a moment. Blood seeps from his lip as it is bitten into out of a chaotic occurrence of anger. It subsides and a glove descends to wipe his face. His hood was still on unlike Zariel
  124.
  125. Still no response.
  126.
  127. Feet shuffled over to the table with diagrams and plans, different objects and tools scattered all over messily but secretly organized in their own strange way. This family had a way of doing things, didn't it? The figure drops a glove off nearest to a staff being fit with a mythril shaft. While fire was abundant in the area, there was no sort of forge, and the staff looked as if it was snapped in two and not being put together or put apart. The same hand that was now bare pressed against papyrus, runic paper reacting by sending a small blast of light outward. One nod. And then came another. The scribing of runes and the mixing of alchemical recipes was definitely a strong suit.
  128.
  129. Only then would Zoros turn back. His finger arose once more, and a hood is taken off.
  130.
  131. "You can be sure of that. I've been living here for the past couple years. And at a time that I wouldn't even expect it, guess who comes strolling up?"
  132.
  133. That finger allowed the rest of them to extend and lie flat, pointing all at once to the enigma.
  134.
  135. "Oh, uh. Hi. We haven't met before, right? Name's Zoros."
  136.
  137. He'd grin larger for a second before both arms crossed and placed themselves along his chest. "Tell me Zariel, since when do you come visit me? Haha! Did you need something from me, or are you here just for a chat?"
  138.
  139. A cheeky grin this time.
  140.
  141. [17:50] "Hello, zoro. . . Friend.~" Offering a wave before falling silent, leaving the welcoming thought to whom or what they were for another, unlikely time.
  142.
  143. Rather, their attention turned to Zariel, observing the conversation as it went on humbly. To what need did the male have with this stump? The enigma could hardly come to know, but knowing was simply the start of it!
  144.
  145. They were eager to learn and held the up-most patience for this chat.
  146.
  147. Glancing over at the foods eaten, could any normal human eat those things?
  148.
  149. Chiming in on the surrounding area soon after finding a fitting moment to talk. "What a well organized place you have. . . Anything you've no use of, hm?"
  150. (Abyss)
  151.
  152.
  153. [17:56] Now that the three had meant, Zariel could properly respond.. He paid no attention to Zoros's habits and tendencies, though they were noted..
  154.
  155. "Well, I've actually come to remove these two skulls. They've had me bound for so long.." 'They've' was a questionable noun in this situation. Zariel could of meant one or two things when he said this..
  156.
  157. Aside from that, he was sure that his older brother could help him with such a thing..
  158.
  159. "I know you're a master at runes and such so I figured you'd be just about the only one that could help me with this little problem. If you remember, these perform as a staff would of sorts but they also seal my occultism, now how can we solve that?"
  160.
  161. Zariel hoped that Zoros still remembered the origin of his skull. That was the hope that he'd banked on when traveling here.
  162. (Zariel)
  163.
  164.
  165. [18:06] {NARRATION} Before even waiting for the responses of both people, he'd step back for the second time and tend to his cauldron. The largest ladle some might have ever seen was released from a hidden area just around the cauldron and dumped in to stir. Zoros didn't even hold his nose. Training, maybe?
  166.
  167. "Just preparing the pot for making something, I'm sure you both understand. Us alchemists need to be prepared. Haha!" He'd move his mouth again, only stopped by Abyss. "Anything that I don't have use for? Nah, I wouldn't think so. Maybe a few shiny stones here and there."
  168.
  169. Zoros shrugged and returned to his job stirring. The ladle was flipped up and a sip was taken of its contents. It smelled vile and tasted even worse, but Zoros didn't even gag. "Damn. I've outdone myself today." Smirking at Zariel, he'd wonder what to make with the alchemical solution.
  170.
  171. "And now to address -you-," Zoros said, pointing his ladle at Zariel. Zoros paused to think about his brother's troubles, only responding after a minute passing.
  172.
  173. "Your skulls? Binding you? Master at runes? I can't deny that I know about these, and accept the last one as a fact." One eye moved to look at the sentinels around. He'd grunt.
  174.
  175. "I've treated a problem like this before, you know. It needs a few ingredients, and now that I have my cauldron ready.. Haha! Easy." Smug, he'd speak up another time. "See, these should bring about a solution. I'll just mix them around in my pot and do a little ritual on you and we'll be as good as err-- That piece of meat over the-" Zoros' eyes bulged. The meat he was preparing had burnt to a crisp. A simple shake of the head as he found himself reaching for the table. Digging through papers, one is pulled and handed to Zariel.
  176.
  177. "..Don't mind that. Just bring me these things and you'll be fine."
  178.
  179. - Pure Water
  180. - A snow herb
  181. - ..Some sort of flower?
  182.
  183. "They're all found here. That's why I set myself up here." The glove is fit back on and he points to the distance. "Now over there further inland I know of a spring of pure water. Just follow that cleared path and you should be able to find the source. From there out, I'm sure you'll find a way. Haha!"
  184. [18:12] "Well, for someone of your expertise. . . I'm sure while these /shiny/ rocks may hold no value to you, they may to I. And i'm no beggar sir. So should we return, I'd like these shiny rocks of yours." Speaking with a /quite frankly/ esk attitude. Postured up-right as they glanced over to the paper passed over.
  185.
  186. Fixated on the ingredients before looking now towards Zariel.
  187.
  188. "We should get going then, yes? You'll want yourself removed of these skulls?"
  189.
  190. Already walking off towards the road, pulled from their waist a cane made from simple oak and an oddly shaped skull. With its use he walked down the path with a lackadaisical hip to them.
  191. (Abyss)
  192.
  193.
  194. [18:13] Zariel watched in amusement as Zoros went on with his response to Abyss and now to him..
  195.
  196. Blinking a bit before bursting out in laughter, Zariel accepted the paper and read out the ingredients.. "Ah alright, then let us not waste anymore time shall we?" Zariel said towards the 'enigma' with a smile before turning back towards Zoros.
  197.
  198. "I'll see you when I get back then ya'.." He'd say waving at his brother.. Now turning around and hovering towards the path leading further inland.. Whatever was in store for the two was anyone's guess..
  199.
  200. (Zariel)
  201.
  202.
  203. [18:28] {NARRATION} "You'd like a few of those rocks? Well, I've no use for them right now. Fine, deal. If you come back alive, then you'll get them." A thumbs up which was given to both members of the group. "Get me something interesting, like a large bug in exchange for them, alright? I haven't seen what they can do, and I know for a fact that there's plenty of those around. Haha!"
  204.
  205. A simple exchange. A souvenir from the forests inland in exchange for the rocks which Abyss desired.
  206.
  207. "Have fun," He'd state as they journeyed off. Soon enough, view was broken and the party was within the forest. If they went in the direction which Zoros had pointed, it only made sense for them to arrive in the right location. The first on the list was pure water from a spring.
  208.
  209. But the walk was quite far. Something which was neglected to say.
  210.
  211. Through all of that, if the party pushed forward even then? They'd make it to a nearby rushing sound of water. A spring full of clear liquid. Refreshing to jump into. Refreshing to drink. Even the rushing sound wouldn't be able to mask the large grunt from around Abyss and Zariel.
  212.
  213. A man standing tall, red hair, and a large, muscular chest visible. Nothing more than a loincloth covered his lower body, and only fur adorned his upper half.
  214.
  215. "You.. Two. Get out. I know what you're here for-- That--that alchemist! I've had enough of him coming out here." Deep and commanding, his voice bellowed out. He'd gesture for the two to pack up, towering over them as if he was some sort of giant. "This land is ours, not yours. I'll kill both of you if you even take a STEP closer!" The native's chest inflated, only to puff out a sign on his chest. Some sort of combination painted with a blue color. No doubt something to depict the ones he was allied with.
  216.
  217. Water.. was on the list. What would the party do?
  218. [18:35] The path was long but not long enough for Zariel to feel any sort of fatigue since he could fly, there was no need for tiring his legs..
  219.
  220. Eventually they came to one of the destinations, A spring fountain with a giant man blocking the area off to the two.. Zariel's gazed waned as he glared towards the giant man.
  221.
  222. "We won't be leaving, and I'll be taking some of this water..." Zariel said as if the warning from the giant man was nothing more than the bluff of a child..
  223.
  224. After saying this, he'd nonchalantly float towards the spring without a care for the giant man's territory.
  225. (Zariel)
  226.
  227.
  228. [18:35] Would the journey be long enough to be taken notice by a being whom lived over a hundred years? Possibly longer. . .
  229.
  230. A realm without time and one where it moved, seemed far more levied. With now a purpose to find a bug somewhere within the forest! "Your friend has some taste. . . A large bug? I do say, you should keep your wits about. We've now four things to return with!"
  231.
  232. The enigma took to saying, whilst twirling the cane in both hands. A quick stamp of its end came to and end when the two may eventually reach the desired location.
  233.
  234. Taken back by the sudden arrival of yet another strange imposing figure. Unlike the other however, seemed far more brutish. "Oh. . . No, we didn't come for that man! Please, there's no need to lay claim to our lives." Whisking the cane over towards his allies direction.
  235.
  236. "We're on a journey. One of importance. . . My friend here requires this to ensure they'll live a long and much better life. It's not for the man we seek this, but a more just reason. Surely you can agree!?"
  237.
  238. Staring down the individual not a step back was made.
  239. (Abyss)
  240.
  241.
  242. [18:43] {NARRATION} His eyes darted between the two, especially Zariel who took the more bold approach. No sort of weapon is visible near him, and one might even think of him as unarmed. Hearing Zariel's words almost drives the figure into a frenzy. The ground began to shake, before it cracked open. A fissure in the earth which enabled cracked and jagged rocks to spew out, aiming to stop his advance.
  243.
  244. "Gah! You-!" He'd point to Abyss, who had not attempted a movement in the slightest. He bows his head for a moment before speaking once more. "You stay out of this! I don't care about your journey. I don't care about who you want to save, or don't! This is /my/ land! And for trying to take my property?! He'll die!"
  245.
  246. The titan was true to his word. Not a single motion of the earth was made at Abyss, and all of the current power that the native held was focused at Zariel.
  247.
  248. Abyss had the choice to let the two fight, seeing as Abyss had not tried his patience. The threats that were made before battle were no joke, however.
  249.
  250. It was time to choose between saving oneself and saving another!
  251. [18:44] Abyss says, "It's a shame then, I can't help, but assist my friend here against you. "
  252. [18:47] Abyss exclaims, "Go, my little kang!"
  253. [18:50] Zariel cared little for the man's display of anger.. "This is your land you say? You aren't too good at telling jokes you know.." Zariel said with a bit of a chuckle, he knew well that this was more serious and the stakes could not be higher..
  254.
  255. However he also knew that he wasn't going to let a lump of muscle stop him from gaining the power he'd sought for so long..
  256.
  257. "Good choice, Focus on disrupting his movement, that will be our key to victory..
  258.
  259. I don't we need a plan for this oaf, but it never hurts to be prepared and care more or less.."
  260.
  261. He said as his skulls flared up for battle while he crossed his arms, aiding his skulls with his own mana..
  262. (Zariel)
  263.
  264.
  265. [19:04] The giant man was less of a challenge and turned out to be fodder, a dog with all bark and no bite..
  266.
  267. Zariel needn't even use his dark powers as his skulls together with Aybss's magic were more than sufficient as Zariel grabbed the fresh water in the midst of their battle..
  268.
  269. Shards of freezing ice littered the battlefield, freezing the ground along with anybody and anything that touched it, those that were deemed hostiles anyway..
  270.
  271. The impact his skulls made in the battle gave him enough time to crouch down and fill a flask full of the water before screwing it closed and turning around..
  272.
  273. "Alright then, let us continue.."
  274. (Zariel)
  275.
  276.
  277. [19:05] As the battle erupted, the enigma took swift action raising their cane notably high. Chanting, but a few words to whisper.
  278.
  279. "For the lady, I hope you hear him sing. . . A noble seeking your attention. Your grace."
  280.
  281. Harnessing the ambiance of the cosmos, it's awakening drew sickly and tarnished. As if devoid of reasoning. Only a typhoon of honed occulted malice.
  282.
  283. Thrilling forward the energies of any star small enough to fall prey to the all seeing, lady.
  284.
  285. "You're a fool to think the tales over, for us."
  286.
  287. Scaling forward now they levitated throughout the field, dashing forward swinging the cane towards the man as cursed spells bypassed the physical realm and aimed to deter their thoughts.
  288.
  289. An eventual end would come and it was hardly from the ashen mans effort. Knowingly, it was this reason they went about traversing the realm and capturing the daemon.
  290.
  291. If they couldn't have an archon, they'd have the siblings. . . To dance for the lady that in toe cried from the canes skull. Weeping sorrow to the mans end.
  292.
  293. "My friend seeks only the water, but I. It will be personal, to deny my request." Reacting to the conversation prior, They held out the canes end, taking advantage of their weakened state. Siphoning their life-force till it drew its end.
  294. (Abyss)
  295.
  296.
  297. [19:13] {NARRATION} Hit after hit, the titan seemed to underestimate the group. His first thoughts were of victory, but that quickly soured over into defeat. Occultists, and skilled ones at that. Their very magic was something that drained him quick. Attacking with his fists, but empowering them with many spells, he'd soon find out that he was no match for the group.
  298.
  299. A quick defeat, even if the earth fought against them. Their corrupted land proved to be far too able for him.
  300.
  301. in a deafening roar, he cried out one last time. "Curse these fools! Curse the land that they walk on!" Eyes drifted to Zariel collecting the water, but drifted back to Abyss. The man was dying this time, and he knew it. "No-! Stop, stop!!" His words silenced as his life began to drain.
  302.
  303. Drip...
  304.
  305. Drip...
  306.
  307. Until the very end. All that was left was a siphoned corpse. Now with the water, the group would easily find their way around and collect the last few ingredients! The perfect opportunity to flex their skills as well as assist each other in the hunt for curing Zariel's ailments.
  308.
  309. Another path was visible now, one that had the wretched smell of occult drift from it. Powerful, perhaps even more powerful than the two combined. Would they go investigate?
  310.
  311. The path drenched itself in more and more dark energy as the seconds passed. Something was getting closer.
  312. [19:18] With all things settled the ashen man took to leaving a coy grin in the wake of the mans death. Fond of hearing the phrase been thrown their way. It wasn't the first, nor the last they'd be cursed on the lands they walk upon.
  313.
  314. Going forward now, "It was as simple as allowing us to take a portion of the pool. . . Ignorance I say, but they sang a great song for us and the lady. I'm sure she heard it well."
  315.
  316. Leading the way if Zariel wasn't already ahead of him.
  317.
  318. The presence closing in as they wandered forward threatening. Forced the mans cane out into a defensive stance.
  319. (Abyss)
  320.
  321.
  322. [19:23] Zariel allowed Abyss to do as he wished with the false titan. His attention was more dead set on the massive occultic presence that felt as if it were approaching them...
  323.
  324. Zariel had experienced all manor of darkness from mankind's own occult to an archon of darkness to a demon whose darkness was even more refined than an archon's own magic..
  325.
  326. And this was the first time Zariel felt worry in accordance.. "I'm sure it won't be the last song your lady hears.. Something big is coming, something that shouldn't be taken as lightly as the last.." He'd say glancing over to the corpse of a man before them..
  327.
  328. Abyss seemed to have taken the lead while Zariel paced behind him, focusing his mana into a certain spell that he believed firmly was going to be a deciding factor in their next bout..
  329. (Zariel)
  330.
  331.
  332. [19:26] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  333. [19:28] {NARRATION} Large footsteps pounded the ground into submission. The occultic presence was none other than a demon! A Kaor-class one at that. Its dark magic festered and begged to tear itself free. Such power only meant that it grew closer to an ascension of greater power. The goal of it entirely. Spotting the party, it grew defensive and infiltrated the thoughts of anyone who might have heard it. "You two. I've sensed a powerful battle here. Tell me of it, now." In its leathery grasp was a strange plant. White in appearance and raggedy. Its grip tightened and the herb was only crushed further. There was no doubt that this was the one which was requested.
  334.
  335. With its other limb, it stretched out a hand as if beckoning them over. "Tell me weak-willed. I am close to becoming greater than Agartha at the moment, and you two will humor me in your ways." Great hostility was sensed and the invasion of the mind reacted with a pounding reverberation along those internal walls. Approaching even closer, it would slide itself down nearby and listen. There was no friendliness of any kind in its tone. Cold and commanding just like the previously slain but moreso. One last echo.
  336.
  337. "Talk before my power wills you to never talk again." The strangest thing was that its presence far exceeded that of any normal Agarthan demon. While a kaor in size, there must have been something allowing it to reach further limits than normal.
  338.
  339. This part of the forest was shrouded in darkness and the vapor in the air seemed to be almost non-existent. Dry and tainted, plants started to wither and rot but the sunlight barely managed itself. Only a few beams of light shone down on the kaor.
  340.
  341. It held up one hand fit with thick fingers, a writhing mass of tendrils appearing outwards to probe the air. They crawled forth, near the group.
  342. [19:33] "W-well. . . Aren't you the most unique thing I've seen thus far." The initial comment made towards the kaor-class native. Lowering their cane in hopes of avoiding any possible dangers, much like the last time.
  343.
  344. They'd attempt to sway this journey in their favor and avoid possible troubles. "If it means anything, we'd just slain a most persistent man. Surely he was once an annoyance to you, living here on your lonesome in this forest. We've a favor, and surely you could gain from this! As heralds to prepare your arrival against the nations on the mainlaind of agarth!"
  345. (Abyss)
  346.
  347.
  348. [19:36] A demon, nigh archon tier.. Zariel knew that this guy was trouble but he wasn't all that worried in the end.. He himself could be considered nigh archon tier as well with an Archon's magic coursing through him via the sigil on his right hand, covered up by clothing and a shroud of occult.
  349.
  350. His arms were crossed as he floated in place next to Abyss. If he'd notice anything about his friend was that he was certainly good with his words.
  351.
  352. At first he'd opt to remain quiet, shielding himself from the abrasive trembling of his mind as the demon commanded..
  353.
  354. However, this was when he'd spot a peculiar plant in the demon's grasp.. It was then when Zariel's decision for silence changed. Uncrossing a single arm, he'd raise it up and point at the flower.. "Give me that plant.. Now..." Revealing his own sense of pride and hostility Zariel readied himself for another, more dangerous battle to ensue..
  355. (Zariel)
  356.
  357.
  358. [19:42] {NARRATION} It would tilt its head for a moment before raising its second hand, twirling those meaty fingers around before engaging in a point at Abyss. It sniffed the air around him as the vapor within grew even more dry. Those occultic tendrils were the source, and it was obvious. "Something to gain out of this? A favor?" It brewed over a thought. "You don't mean.." Silver eyes light up at the image of a most hated annoyance having his head split open. Those same eyes scout the land around only to find a body nearby. "I will correct you. I do not live here, and will never attempt it. With the death of that persistent man, I will accept. He has harassed me constantly ever since my first landing here."
  359.
  360. While not willing to show it, the demon was quite happy at the death of the man that Abyss had just drained. A mere husk of his former self.
  361.
  362. Throwing out another echo, its grip tightened on the plant.
  363.
  364. "Heralding my ascension. This will do, weak-willed. I have decided against taking action here, but do not think of it as your words twisting me."
  365.
  366. The kaor stood up and stepped forward until its length stood right before Abyss, staring deeply into the enigma. "You have gained my interest--" Just before the even larger titan could finish, it was interrupted. Zariel's demands furrowed the malicious plague-demon's brows.
  367.
  368. "You want this plant? You remind me of my subordinate. Your features are much too similar for it to be a coincidence. Tell me, are you one of his children?"
  369.
  370. Screeching laughter threw itself against a mind's wall.
  371.
  372. "Humor me again, and I'll consider it."
  373. [19:47] With as much sway the enigma could muster they played their part in quelling the beast from assaulting them. Having nested in this location, it'd likely prove nearly impossible to slay them in this terrain, one better known.
  374.
  375. Yokai of this class were formidable and one with this capacity seemed like more of an interest than anything else. "Well. . . Regardless of where you go, surely you know of your strength then. Unlike the ones of Agartha, even the archons. You seem to already outclass them. Will you take your domain, global? If so, what here can we provide to assist? Outside our lives of course.~"
  376.
  377. A toothy grin, they measured the beings response. Glancing over to zariel when questioned on their allegiance.
  378. (Abyss)
  379.
  380.
  381. [19:48] Zariel's prideful attitude did not cease as he smiled.. The only people in this world that looks like Zariel were his family, obviously but him and Zoros did share more similarities than most, them being brothers and all..
  382.
  383. "You must mean my older brother Zoros..
  384. If so, I suppose that's what he's really been up to here, perhaps..." It was pretty cool to know that he and Zoros were on the same path, though he knew that his brother was probably much, much further down said path he was...
  385.
  386. "I'm no genius so I can only guess why he'd serve you but seeing how much power you hold... I'm sure it's an understandable reason..."
  387. (Zariel)
  388.
  389.
  390. [19:55] {NARRATION} With the herb being carried away by dark tendrils that ebbed from the kaor's back, it revealed a long and gnarled tree branch. A large piece of wood severed straight from a tree and rotted by a curse. While it might have looked like a club, something clear was visible on top of it to signify it as a staff.
  391.
  392. A crystal.
  393.
  394. Tiny in nature but shining a powerful magic. Was this the source of the occultism spreading around the kaor? Even a weak magi would know that this was not the case.
  395.
  396. It was simply a catalyst, inscribed with runes.
  397.
  398. "Global? I will go where I please, but my search for ascension has brought me to this land in order to find an artefact."
  399.
  400. The ground would shake as a stomp was delivered to it, tendrils going to disease the land and tear it up in a showy act. "Digging." It had no reason to reveal such information of course, but these two mentioned that their help was possible. With might like that, the kaor could arise even higher!
  401.
  402. "Zoros? That was his name, yes. I am feeling.. Abnormal this day. If that is the case, then tell him that he may have this herb, and only him. He is the one which will make my elixir. You are allied with him, yes?"
  403.
  404. Surprisingly, the kaor would allow his occultic tendrils to release the herb, allowing it to drift near Zariel but just outside of his reach until the confirmation was given.
  405.
  406. "And I will allow this herb on one condition. That you two will assist me in the search for this artefact. Not at this moment. You have my words to do. Tell this Zaris-- Zoras to make my elixir with speed."
  407.
  408. It seems that the conversation turned a possible enemy into.. an ally?
  409. [20:02] "Well. . . Expect it done, friend! You shall have our assistance with ease. Oh the lady will see this tale as something beyond combat. I'm sure she looks down upon you with favor as one with such a strong purpose."
  410.
  411. Twirling the cane in hand a single stomp on the ground was made, eyeing the crystal from afar. Taking great notice on the means in which they harnessed the surrounding area.
  412.
  413. "I must say. . . You've done well here. Maybe I'll attempt to replicate this event in the dreadwoods later on."
  414.
  415. Exhaling as if air was even needed, it was mainly to express the relief of avoiding conflict with what seemed like death.
  416. (Abyss)
  417.
  418.
  419. [20:02] Well that went easier than expected. Zariel knew immediately that this was the power of knowledge and words, what it could achieve and what it could do..
  420.
  421. "Hmmm, then I'd I'll accept these terms.." Zariel said, confirming the conditions and grabbing the herb with one of his skulls..
  422.
  423. He gave Abyss a smile before cracking his neck.. "As a token of my gratitude for helping each other instead of violence, I'll tell you my name, it is one that you should remember when the time comes for us to meet again..
  424.
  425. My name is Zariel." He'd say with a brief bow..
  426. (Zariel)
  427.
  428.
  429. [20:08] {NARRATION} The demon waved the group off with tendrils of occult-manifested water, slicing at them with blades but not at enough speed or reach to attack them. It was more of a motivation technique than anything else.
  430.
  431. The herb was handed off to Zariel once the kaor's conditions were accepted, the demon warding the group from being in its presence with a large amount of watery plague.
  432.
  433. "He will understand where to meet me if this is the case. In fact, my wandering was only interrupted by the two of you. Before this, I was looking for the same exact herb that you-" He gestures to Zariel. "-were looking for. If we have a common ally, I see no problem with you being able to deliver it to him."
  434.
  435. "Yes, yes. Return now."
  436.
  437. A simple turn led the demon to stomp its way off, leaving the party without much other interaction. Abyss had made it rather docile with his persuasion, and Zariel's appearance only made it even more so. With how the kaor looked before, a massive shift in hostility had happened.
  438.
  439. One last thing was screeched out from the demon's telepathy.
  440.
  441. "Kar'osis, weak-willed. That is my name."
  442.
  443. The conditions which the herb had been given were that the two would assist the demon in its search for an artefact, and that they would return the herb to Zoros.
  444.
  445. The path back was long and arduous, filled with many twists and turns, but the final part of their journey was almost over it seemed like!
  446.
  447. Now all that was left was a bug that Abyss had promised Zoros. Surely any single bug would do.
  448.
  449. [20:15] Watching as Zariel was entrusted with a new task. The enigma took to their own task, with such a radiant field of occultism. Surely the bugs here had grown out of control.
  450.
  451. All that was left was for him to go on and search nearby. Offering a wave towards the two, "Well, I've something to search for and my friend, a flower still remains. Yes? Likely to find one here as well. Let us give our new friend the space needed and go on about our business. Best to ensure we make progress, quickly!" They'd mention towards the end, emphasizing the haste required of them.
  452.
  453. And as such they took into the forest, without care of any grotesque or vile images they'd see of bugs too large to bring back or too deadly to bother. Eventually there'd come one! one they'd snatch and quickly return back to the group with in hand!
  454.
  455. "If we've everything! It's best we return." They'd call out, making way back.
  456. (Abyss)
  457.
  458.
  459. [20:16] Well that was surely anti-climatic but perhaps that was what they wanted. If Abyss were not here then that could of turned into one of the times Zariel bit off more than he could chew..
  460.
  461. "Ah, now that we have the herb, now we just neeed..." He said while reading the list, "Some type of flower? Hmmm, perhaps it's around here somewhere or maybe they only actually needed those two ingredients with the third being optional..
  462.
  463. Regardless Abyss and Zariel would most likely continuing exploring to search for the Plant..
  464. (Zariel)
  465.
  466.
  467. [20:23] {NARRATION} The journey would definitely take some time out of the slivers of daylight left, but the winding paths would eventually come to a stop had they decided to return. If not, a search was put up.
  468.
  469. The group's searching led them to a small grove nearby, painted with runes and strange stones. It was surprisingly empty at the time. One could have sworn that a large presence that differed from the kaor was here just a few minutes ago.
  470.
  471. On a stone tablet in the middle of the ritual site was a flower along with a familiar sight. The crystal which was on the kaor's staff!
  472.
  473. Along with Abyss' final search of the bug, the group would finally have everything they needed to return?
  474.
  475. Or did they? The crystal seemed relatively unstable...
  476.
  477. Maybe there was a possibility of avoiding any trouble by simply grabbing the flower instead of the crystal. It seemed to be the ritual's main focus along with the flower, and the flower was a much more stable object than the catalyst-like crystal.
  478.
  479. It was a choice in the hands of Abyss and Zariel.
  480.
  481. Was it worth the risk?
  482.
  483.
  484. [20:27] With everything in hand, it nearly seemed like the perfect departure. Had it not been for what had been becoming a rather annoyance on their way out. "I'll let you decide, should we risk the crystal? Rather, you've all you come for. If you need nothing else, maybe I'll take the risk off your hands?" By that, he'd take it his own.
  485. (Abyss)
  486.
  487.
  488. [20:33] There it was, the flower they were searching for. It was a simple action, take the flower and leave but the crystal urged the sin of greed to rear it's head within Zariel..
  489.
  490. He wanted it not only because it seemed valuable but it looked like something very important to have, something that could make Zariel even more powerful..
  491.
  492. It took a few moments but Zariel decided that it was time to take a que from Abyss himself.. "I have what I need, you are free to take the risk." Zariel said as his skull moved to collect the flower..
  493.
  494. "While this place is fascinating for me, I think it'd be wise not to press my luck.."
  495. (Zariel)
  496.
  497.
  498. [20:40] {NARRATION} Abyss had chosen to take the crystal where Zariel had not. The water, the herb, and the flower, along with the bug requested was found, but now a crystal revealed itself. With the slightest touch of the unstable crystal, it hummed a depraved warmth. The instability came from this humming, as well as the slight almost-breathing vibrations that emerged from it.
  499.
  500. The second a finger was laid on it, reality itself seemed to shift. A robed mass of individuals assembled themselves through the walls. A group of magi which held the ability to cast illusions and scramble senses. It wasn't reality that shifted itself, but the perception of it.
  501.
  502. Greed caused an uproar! The large group condensed even greater, swirling until every single one was condensed into a singular being. Or so it seemed. Balls of phantom magic formed in the air with no apparent caster except the figure in the middle.
  503.
  504. "To think, that after all of this time playing cards, I could finally say it!"
  505.
  506. A mad cackle that sounded out with the force of a few voices.
  507.
  508. "You've activated my trap card!"
  509.
  510. The only way out...
  511.
  512. Was battle!
  513. [20:45] Feeling as though he'd had too much a stroke of luck thus far. It was only just he be punished for his greed.
  514.
  515. Taken back by the sudden warped senses that the duo underwent. "Oh, we were just leaving." The enigma chanted, raising the staff from their waist as quickly as possible.
  516.
  517. Reciting a few words for their lady in preparation for battle, since it seems there was no other way out of this.
  518.
  519. "There is a greater world beyond this one, and such evil in your heart. Surely you'll reside in a better place. . . One closer to the ladies heart."
  520. (Abyss)
  521.

  526. [20:49] {NARRATION} Abyss had chosen to take the crystal where Zariel had not. The water, the herb, and the flower, along with the bug requested was found, but now a crystal revealed itself. 542. REPOST
  543.
  544. [20:54] "I fucking knew it!" Zariel said while pointing at the demonic figure before them.. "And that's why I won't be messing around with any strange objects or artifacts...
  545.
  546. Now we have to annihilate this thing so we can get on and finish this journey.." Zariel said a bit annoyed before flaring up his occult magic..
  547.
  548. Readying himself for battle..
  549. (Zariel)
  550. [21:20] Abyss exclaims, "Well, it was a trap. . . Let's be off!"
  551. [21:21] Zariel says, "Mhm.."
  552. [21:22] {NARRATION} The amalgam controlled the aspect of fire and darkness, using them to its advantage time and time again. Waves of inferno crisped skin and attached a vile black to the remainder.
  553.
  554. It was not long before it was weakened. The two occultists were much too strong for the amalgam to defeat, and in the end, due to sustained blows, it falls.
  555.
  556. Like ashes blowing in the wind, it scatters off, and the crystal is left pocketable as Abyss had already known.
  557.
  558. All that was left was to return, the quest almost complete!
  559. [21:24] Abyss says, "Well then, we should be returning, you wanted to get those skulls undone."
  560. [21:24] Abyss says, "Let's be quick and return to this zoro's."
  561. [21:24] Zariel says, "Yes finally..."
  562. [21:24] Zariel says, "Let's fly back to make up for lost time.."
  563. [21:24] Abyss says, "Good idea."
  564. [21:34] {NARRATION} The group travels back as quick as they had left, a familiar sight ahead. Smoke rising, just above the trees. Determination pushes the two on, and they eventually reach the door of Zariel's brother.
  565.
  566. Zoros was tinkering with a few tools ahead as he suspected an approach. His gaze turned to look at the two with a grin on his face. Had they finally achieved it?
  567.
  568. They had, and with a wordless answer, he beckoned them to hand over the ingredients, or to dump it in the bubbling cauldron. "You are almost done, Zariel. But your hands, the skulls require a new focus. While you will be unbound, your occultism needs a place to host itself. They will act as a catalyst now. You will cast your spirit through them rather than using any sort of skull shit, alright?"
  569.
  570. Zoros gestures for him to bring his hands over.
  571.
  572. "Bring them over, I got to look at them. And take that cup over there and drink after I've stirred--" Just on time, he'd take the ladle from before and plunge it into the pot, stirring rapidly until it was ready. A cup is visible. "Just dip it in and hand your hands to me!"
  573.
  574. Once the act is done, he'd examine Zariel's hands as soon as they were near. "You see, this isn't going to take long, but it's going to be painful. And make sure that you've fully swallowed that thing down." He'd wait for five seconds, and then another nine, before squeezing Zariel's hands tight and wrapping them around in his own dark cloak.
  575.
  576. They would stay there for the next few moments before a buzz came. A warm buzz that only touched his hands. The rest took a while but Zoros covered it quickly.
  577.
  578. The cloak was uncovered. What was revealed was not much of a shock to one paying attention. Zariel's hands began to gray, lighten, but stain themselves with a purple that only spewed from the magic of darkness. Zoros thumbed over Zariel's hands before nodding.
  579.
  580. "They will heal, in time, but the focus point will always remain. Make this your new mark, unbound."
  581.
  582. One last salute from Zoros.
  583.
  584. "Haha! Is that all?"
  585. [21:37] Returning after the long journey. Once they arrived. The enigma took off to the side and awaited the process to be finished. With the big bug in his hands and crystal pocketed away, they seemed interested in the unwinding restraint the male took down this path.
  586.
  587. Rather determined beyond meager means of trail by combat. "How's it feel, friend? Like a burdens been lifted now? As for my shiny rocks. . .? Here's the bug!"
  588.
  589. Dropping it over they seemed content with the journey.
  590. (Abyss)
  591.
  592.
  593. [21:47] When they approached, Zoros was already seeming to prepare for the ritual..
  594.
  595. Just like in olden days, Zariel followed every instruction Zoros had to give, right down to the mark..
  596.
  597. "Alright, alright.." He'd say haste-fully before drinking the cup and giving them his hands... The pain was similar to when he was being dissected, feeling the power of his unbound occult rush through him.
  598.
  599. One thing to note was Zariel's right hand, on the back of his palm bore an archon's sigil, and a second source of Zariel's darkness.. He could feel the occult swell more within his right palm as the sigil served as a natural host for his darkness...
  600.
  601. It was then when the 'change' occurred. Once Zoros's occult cloak uncovered Zariel's arms, they all were to watch the spectacle of whatever elixir Zariel drank. His skin turned pale and grey, starting from his arm but quickly covering the rest of his body, touched with a tinge of occult purple..
  602.
  603. His once black hair was then sapped of all of it's color, left a snowy white.. "Oh... my god!" Zariel exclaimed as he looked at himself in a watery mirror..
  604.
  605. The occult traveled through him like a thick ichor of black tar, feeling as though it corrupted his being simply by presence alone..
  606.
  607. Grinding his teeth as he endured, "T-thank you Zoros.. I can feel so much more! So much power, hehehehahaha! this is amazing!" He'd say with a toothy smile..
  608.
  609.
  610. (Zariel)
  611.
  612.
  613. [21:48] {Item} You drop Long Shirt (Recolorable).
  614. [21:52] {NARRATION} Zoros grabbed that bug, gladly and with the largest smile a man could have on his face. He reaches out to shake the enigma's hand. They seemed to be nicer than at first glance.
  615.
  616. "You actually got it! Haha! Fine, fine. I'll get your shiny rocks." Stepping over to dig into a nearby chest, he'd pull out a few different types of ores, bagged them, and placed them in Abyss' hand if allowed.
  617.
  618. "Share some with your friend there, all right? Haha!"
  619.
  620. Watching Zariel's transformation only widened that wide smile. The only possible thing to come from seeing his own brother become even better. Zoros laughed heartily.
  621.
  622. "Haha! Now that you've had your occultism unsealed, make sure not to..." His voice descends down to a whisper, practically like the wind. He squints and looks at Zariel. "...Lose yourself."
  623.
  624. "Anyways, that was it then? And then you're just going to leave? Both of you? I've got to admit it! You two made the stay here all that more enjoyable.
  625.
  626. Come back sometime."
  627.
  628. [Mission Passed]
  629.
  630. [22:01] It was hard not to lose himself in the surge of power. It was like a chaotic calm that overtook his mind.. This was the result of Zariel's occult magic rushing in every direction, mad dashing towards any new catalyst to hold it as a host.
  631.
  632. The only suitable catyaltst for his occult was naturally the sigil that rest on the back of his right arm so naturally the darkness flooded into his right hand, swelling the skin burst open with black ichor-like tar.. "Uuughg.." He said before offering one last fist bump like old times before going on his way.
  633. (Zariel)
