razzle's no good very bad day

Calm Water leans forward, steepling his fingers together in his lap. "Razzle, would you like to put your phone down so we can talk?"

The unicorn girl on the couch beside his chair doesn't look up from her phone, though she does flip him off with her free hand as she types something out. She turns the phone around, and on the screen is displayed: 'go fuk urself'

"Okay," Water sighs, "that was unnecessarily hostile, but I can see where you're coming from. We can talk with your phone for now."

"Er... what?"

"I have an idea," Water says, pulling out a notepad and a pen. "Why don't you write on this, so that you don't have to shorten words so much?"

Razzle frowned, and shook her head.

"Razzle, I can't understand you when you make shortcuts like that. At least type the whole words out."

'no'

Water leans back, gesturing with an open palm. "Can you tell me why?"

'no'

"Humour me. This is all confidential."

Razzle snorts, jabbing at the keys with agitated movements. 'flunkd spelln b'

"Well," Water says, "of course your spelling is bad, if you're always typing on that phone of yours. But you don't have to worry about that right now, this isn't a classroom. Just do your best."

'dont evn wana b here' Razzle types, flashing the screen to him with a scowl.

"I hear you. Opening up is really difficult. But you know why you're here, right?"

"You didn't... fuck up, Razzle," Water says, pausing for a moment to parse the word. "We noticed that your family was having trouble, so we got them to access therapy, and we noticed during those sessions that you were really withdrawn. That's why we're talking here now; because we noticed you might need some help."

Razzle sinks into her chair, frowning at her phone screen under her bangs. Water gestures to her.

"I notice you're not looking at me much. Can you look at me, Razzle?"

'sure' Razzle types, without looking at him at all.

"Will you look at me, then?"

"Why not?"

"Lyk- ah," Water realises the word as he says it out loud. "Could it be that you actually have trouble meeting my eyes? There's no shame in it."

"Is talking about all this boring to you, Razzle?"

"I think you could get a lot out of therapy," Water says, patiently, "if only you'd just give it a shot."

"Razzle, I'm sorry, but I didn't understand that sentence at all."

"Okay," Water breathes out, not quite pronounced enough to be a sigh. "Can we talk about your family instead? We don't have to touch on your problems."

Razzle frowns, sinking further down on the couch. 'w/e'
