  1. We found what looks to be a stray today; he was not in the best of shape either; holding on to a strange object in his beak like his life depended on it. We of course, took the object; the rest of this document is to be about the gryphon. He was young and feisty we think he’s gone Witless, but considering he had enough mental facilities to actually attempt a complicated plan at escape, we think a part of him is still there. If anything, if it weren’t for the fact he was still young, we might not have been able to contain him. We took the liberty to actually tie him up now; he’s proven that he might be worth saving, assuming we don’t catch what he got. We will have to use extreme caution with this one. Looks like he’s a 7 year old; if we manage to get some words out of him, maybe we can find out why he was out here alone. It’s clear a part of him is still there.

  5. Right now it seems like this little guy is the talk of the town. Excluding his violent outbursts, what we first assumed was unintelligible squacking has actually been revealed to be some sort of language; we aren’t sure what it is though. After further studies, it would seem that he is only of five years, not seven! He’s younger than we thought he was. When he isn’t trying to escape or peck another’s eyes out, he sits quietly, studying his environment, and studying us. We aren’t the only ones that are doing their homework, it seems.

  9. This guy is a bit smarter than we thought. After about a month, he said…or more like mumbled, the first word we could actually understand. He actually said “Water!” This is rather fortunate, as it means that we were making progress with him and given some more time, he might even be able to join the others. Of course, we went to go get him his water, but we nearly made a mistake as he also attempted to use this opportunity for yet another escape attempt. The fourth time this week actually. We were wise to his schemes now, so we caught on to it quickly. But he got his water.

  13. Another month has passed by; and much more progress. He seems to have calmed down, but we still don’t know much. He has picked up on language remarkably fast: After the first word, we made a habit of trying to strike up conversations with him to teach him more. He has taken to it remarkably well. We will question him about his origins tommorow.

  17. Well, that didn’t go as planned. We thought we would be able to figure out where he belonged so we can return him; instead, he at the very least claims no memory. The more we questioned, the more agitated he became; he was making an effort, but we ceased our attempts. For a moment we got the idea to show him what he was carrying, but decided against it. Something may have happened that made him want to forget what happened, and it may be best that he does. At least he did mention a name: Jalim.

  21. We made a slight mistake. On his word that he would not cause trouble, we let him out. And he immediately caused trouble by attempting to immediately steal meat from one of the hunters that just brought prey in. Of course, there was a bit of a panic about how he was loose, but after a scuffle we subdued him. One step forward, two steps back.

  25. And for take two. This time he was much better behaved; he walked out, talked to some of the others, and was rather civil about everything. This proves he can be a part of society, but after some time he got agitated and wanted to be alone. It’s likely an effect of the witlessness; we let him return to the place where we normally kept him restrained.

  29. Bad news and good news. Bad news: He managed to get loose, but the good news is that he didn’t get far. To be precise, he was playing hide and seek with some of the others his age. After the initial crisis and us discovering what he was doing, we let him continue. Of course his size was a slight disadvantage; of things to note though, was that he seems to be a bit more on the aggressive side, and is not against using his size to get his way. We already see him becoming a bully in the future.

  33. Now that we know that he likely won’t attempt to escape or under normal circumstances attempt to attack another, we don’t keep him restrained anymore, and he sleeps near to me as he need a place to stay. As I have an everlasting curiosity of just who he is and where he is from, the next time a dreamweaver is passing through, I can offer up some things for them for them to poke about his dreams. Perhaps they can find something out about him.

  37. Looks like we’ve found out something we weren’t asking to find out. While this was without consent and rather unethical…it’s best for me to quote him. “He must be a very lucid dreamer: It was as if I was walking into a crafted cavern; and it opened up to a sky with twelve pairs of stars. A river seemed to be flowing from one of the stars like a waterfall, and in by the riverside, he sat, looking up at the sky. He didn’t seem to notice me. I looked up at the sky with him, because it was as if he was gazing up at something in fear. Than I realized it; those were not stars, they were eyes, each one peering down at him with a judgmental gaze. I looked at him again…he was trembling. Than, a voice behind me.
  38.
  39. “You aren’t supposed to be here.”
  40.
  41. I turned around, and I saw…another him? I was confused for a few moments, before the first one I noticed started hissing. I turned, and saw that it was now looking at me, with bristled feathers and ready to go on the attack. I made a quick glance up, noticing things were changing rapidly, and I was right: The biggest pair of eyes now had their eyes on me. I promptly made it my main effort to get out of there.
  42.
  43. I’m never going inside his dreams again.”
