newsletter -- April 2015; #1 of 2

WHY NO NEWSLETTERS IN LAST 2 WEEKS??

Sorry about that, Twtich's PM delivery service is fuck-awful and very few people got the recent newsletter (March's 4th, I made it public recently -- http://pastebin.com/8ux2ntpk). So I'm in limbo figuring out how to best deliver future newsletters. I tried out ChimpMail, but after tinkering, realized I want something that supports external embedded tweets, does easy drag n drop for text formatting (because I'm lazy), and has auto-formatting for mobile-friendly viewing.

If you guys have suggestions, I'm all ears. Once I have the process streamlined, newsletters will be archived and much prettier on the eyes to read/digest. For now, this pastebin ghetto shiz will do just to inform everyone of what's happening.

▤▤▤ 100% Runs: Week 5-8 progress
My little brother graduated from marines boot camp & I went with the family on a big trip to South Carolina to see how much he changed. Issue is, I ended up with a 9-day break from Yoshi and certainly regressed. Yesterday was tough to deal with because runs were awful. I had to conclude that some work was needed to regain trust in my structured notes and to not relapse back to my awful muscle memory habits.

I'll get back there, but it'll take a bit of dedication. I want to be back in nailing mid-2:30-pace 100% runs just as badly as you want to see them!

▤▤▤ Sub-Emote progress
A big reason there's a huge delay with emotes is I want to commission an artist unqiue to the emote game. I know there are quite a few artists that are doing emotes already, but (selfish-moment) I don't want my emotes to look like everyone else's. I want that AAA-tier fiya shit.

I found a couple I'd like to contact and see if they do coloring, but nothing concrete to report yet. When I do move forward, I'm probably dropping like $100-200 for like 8 emotes to have things future proofed for when I hopefully get more emote slots to do more.

You already know about triBAKA, triTHIRST, triGasm as potetntial ideas. You know triRage is probably getting demoted to FFZ because it's the least used. I came across a new idea I wanted accidentally:

I want a disgusted Yugi (not Yami) emote (kind of like DansGame). I realize how cute that would be, and it would metaphorically apply to how much I hate modern YGO TCG, plus a cool play on that he himself hates what his children's card game has become.

(Plus, most importantly, shitpost potential would be 12/10 good)

This has been in planning for months, but by May 1st, should see a healthy overhaul to HackCart pricing and structure!

Currently, an amazing programmer is able to add Yoshi Island romhacks to Yoshi SNES carts to enable LAG-FREE play of them, both for enjoyment and speedrunning. This is a breakthrough that's amazing because I never thought it'd be possible due to SuperFX's complicated coding (SuperFX = Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy effect, plus other unqiue graphical effects).

The new pricing will give you double the amount of romhacks (2 or 4, vs just 1 or 2) on a single cart, option for Japanese Cart usage, and option for slider switch to quickly switch between romhacks (default option is a reset-switch mechanic).

All still for as low as $89 (2 hacks) or $139 (4 hacks). Expect public twitter announcement in like 2 weeks.

To celebrate TomorrowLand coming out May 22nd, it's a total tribute to the original BasedGod! Not lil B, but BRAD -MOTHERFUCKING- BIRD!

To celebrate I have a preshow with his best unknown triumphs: pilot of The Critic, episode of The Critic written by Bird; episode of The Simpsons written by Bird; a mystery episode of a mystery show, and a feature presentation of a LIVE STRAWPOLL BATTLE BETWEEN 1999'S IRON GIANT VS 2004'S THE INCREDIBLES!

VOTING GOES LIVE THAT DAY, VIA TWEET, AND THE BATTLE ENSUES UNTIL THE PRESHOW OF FMN IS OVER! It'll be interesting to see if the mass appeal of Incredibles beats the Hipster power of Iron Giant.
