- “He is a demon.” “A demon? No. But he is a monster,” said Kuga. “If even half of the rumors about him are true, hell, if a tenth of them are true, then he has beaten more dangerous men than either of us.”
- “He is a demon,” Santoro muttered again, but this time Kuga did not dispute it.
- “Even as old as Church has to be, he’s a spooky bastard, Deacon.” He cocked his head and studied Santoro. “Bet you never lost a fight before. That has to sting.”
- “One day I will drown him in the blood of everyone he loves.”
