The Evergreen Mountain and the Bed of Anki.

The seven Watchers were creations of Anki, each born to combat one of the greatest evils of the world. Things such as ignorance, lies, oppression etc. However, it became quite clear that no matter how powerful, the world would need more than seven beings to help purify it from evil. So the seven Watchers came together, and devised a plan.

The Evergreen Mountain is the tallest peak in the continent, and gains it's name from being permanently verdant, and having  no snow stick around, even at it's top (although it is barren rock and the winds are chilling). There is a path up the mountain, that only the bravest and most exalted spirits may take.

These men and women who reach the top, are challenged by a single Watcher, and should they win, they are taken to the Bed of Anki, a floating structure, that stands just off the mountain's peak. There, they are ascended into Watchers, and spend their days training at the temple. The Bed of Anki is a proper facility, where Watchers may live, train and socialize with one another, waiting for a "Day of  Waking", an event in which the Bed will fly from the peak, and move to some part of the world, where great evil is brewed or spread.

The Watchers can be deployed individually, or even summoned if the need arises, although this is a rare event, which hasn't been heard of in at least a century. Watchers may also chose to leave the Bed for whatever reason, although this is frowned upon.
