  1. BP and EP System
  2.
  3. BP and EP stand for Bonus Points and Endurance Points, respectively. Bonus Points are used to give permanent bonuses to rolls; you can give BP to anything that requires a roll. Endurance Points are used to permanently increase your Hits and Wounds.
  4.
  5. These will be obtained after major milestones in a campaign, such as after defeating major enemies, surviving important encounters, and so on. Extra BP and EP may also be awarded to individual PCs for accomplishing extraordinary feats and having great roleplay, but will usually be distributed on a group basis for the sake of fairness.

  7. Bonus Points
  8.
  9. In order to raise your bonus to a roll, you need to invest X BP, where X is equal to the new total bonus. Now, in order for this math to work, you have to raise your bonus by 1 at a time.
  10.
  11. Say you start at no modifiers on a roll. To get a +1 modifier, you invest 1 BP. To raise that modifier to a +2, you need to invest 2 additional BP (3 BP total). To raise that modifier to +3, you need to invest 3 additional BP (6 total). Invest 4 to raise it to a +4 (10 total) and so on.
  12.
  13. Another example: If I start off at +2 to a roll due to a Talent, and I want to increase the bonus to +5, I need to invest 12 BP. 3 to raise it to +3, 4 to raise it to +4, and 5 to raise it to +5.
  14.
  15. A roll can only receive a maximum of +3 from the investment of BP. Other modifiers you have DO NOT count toward this limit. You COULD save up BP to give a single skill a high bonus. However, it is recommended to use these points to spread bonuses around to rolls which have no bonuses naturally.
  16.
  17. Bonuses from items are NOT counted when calculating how many BP you need to invest to raise a bonus to a skill, only your regular bonuses, if any, are counted. For example, suppose you have +2 to a skill from your regular bonuses (such as a Talent that gives +2), and you have an item which gives you an additional +1 to that skill. You need only 3 BP to raise your bonus up to +3. With the item, you now have a +4 bonus.

  20. Bonus Cost (BP) Total BP Investment (if and only if starting from 0)
  21. +1 1 1
  22. +2 2 3
  23. +3 3 6
  24. +4 4 10
  25. +5 5 15
  26. +6 6 21
  27. etc.

  29. Endurance Points
  30.
  31. The math on spending EP is much simpler. An extra Hit costs 1 EP. An extra Wound costs 2 EP. The costs do not go up, and unlike BP, there is no cap on how much EP you can invest into either stat.
