  1. Fabian Cortez - Rank 10, the lowest rank, in the House of X's leadership, a mutant with the ability to amplify the powers of other Mutants, at cost of potentially crippling their mutation permanently if amplified for too long. He can amplify two mutants at a time, and needs their consent to amplify. Born in spain, he had a pretty normal life for a poor city dweller up until he discovered his mutant power when he was 20 years old. He had manifested it when he was young, but due to the subtle nature of the power did not discover it until he was an adult. Having lived a low class life for most of his history, he decided to use his power to bribe mutants, amplifying their abilities for crimes or even just to be accepted into low level superhero teams, exploiting the power high the amplification gave them, never telling them about the risk of being crippled by his mutation. He amassed a fortune doing this, and due to the subtlety of his power, was never discovered by the police or superhero teams, instead eventually becoming a high class businessman. Eventually, however, he was discovered by the Acolytes, Genosha under Magneto's elite black ops super "hero" team that traverses the world to protect mutant interests in secret. They offered him a chance to join them, recognizing the power of his mutation, and he did. He initially enjoyed being a part of the acolytes, but his own greedy and attention-seeking nature led him to begin to resent their leader, Exodus, Magneto's chosen second in command head of the Acolytes, as he wanted to be Magneto's most trusted and right hand of Genosha, but instead was simply relegated to being the captain of the Acolytes' premier squad, the Fist of Exodus, which made him resent his situation even more.

  3. Eventually, his resentment grew into outright loathing not only for Exodus, but also Magneto and the whole of Genosha itself, despising them for not recognizing the power of his Mutation and his skill and cunning, daydreaming about their end - all while he would get away laughing, the last survivor of Genosha's elite and the head of Mutant extremists worldwide. Thus, it was no surprise when the HOX eventually contacted him and offered him a rank in their leadership in return for being a mole at Genosha and helping them set up their sabotage of the country. He eventually convinced several other Acolytes in secret to help him in his sabotage, a group Cassandra would come to call the apostates, and accepted his role eagerly, even if his tried and true sense of envy and hate lead him to resent his leader - all while oblivious to how she just saw him as a pawn.

  5. Fabian Cortez is quite narcissistic and ambitious, always feeling undervalued by the people he meets and that he should be the one in charge, not them, and valuing every bit of power he can get over other people - especially extorting Mutants into serving him via addiction to his power. He constantly resents almost every authority figure he meets, being envious of their power and acclaim he feels hsould belong to him, albeit he's pretty good at hiding this from most non-Telepaths. His ego and belief in his own infallibility is often exploited by the HOX - such as Cassandra, Sinister and Mesmero pretending that they can't sense his treacherous ambitions, when they really can. He is often unaware of when people are plotting against him, due to a combination of his own ego leading him to believe his schemes are masterfully hidden, and because he assumes that, while he hates his leaders, they like him. Despite being a Genoshan, he's still spanish at heart and any actions of his that seem to indicate he's integrated with Genosha's artificially cultivated culture are acts. Like all Acolytes, he wears a modified uniform consisting of a black, kevlar-plated set of armor, with an elegant Genoshan red sash in a V shape over the chest, alongside red armoed gloves and boots, and golden ornamental armor plates and a flowing red cape on his shoulders, which can be taken off once a fight starts. In addition, he has two strange golden plates on the sides of his head, which can combine by sliding onto his face and creating an elegeant mask reminiscent of a corinthian's helmet.

  7. This mask exists to hide which Mutants he is empowering from his enemies - hiding his eyes. His hair is orange in coloration and tied in a short ponytail, while his face is chiseled and has a light stubble. Oftentimes, one can see his smugness just form his asshole face. His physique is quite muscular, as is common for Acolytes of either gender, who are trained extensively physically regardless of their type of mutation. His eyes look like a normal human blue normally, but when using his powers on a mutant or two, one of his eyes will change to look like their eyes for each.
