History of Character: (Summary) Syracuse was born the unwanted child of unknown parentage. Left at the doors of a monastery of the Grey Church. The caretakers of the monastery took in the young Neries, raising him in cloistered seclusion. Teaching him the Tenets of the Grey Church in the hopes he'd someday take up the word. It was not a life of comforts, nor one of excitement, the days blending together in the monasteries grey walls. It was a suffocating environment to grow up in for the Neries, it'd leave behind an intense desire for freedom in his later years.

After experiencing a vision when he was sixteen the young Neries escaped the monastery, boarding a ship bound for Dawn in search of his freedom. His arrival in Dawn was uneventful, merely being another face in the crowd. However, it didn't take him long to get a lay of the land. In quick succession he squired himself to the Red Paladin Chroma Zanders and utilized his training to become a Deacon of the local branch of the Grey Church. His next step was to apprentice himself to the Undead Moon Knight Perseus Kang. Pledging a supply of mana in exchange for lessons in the brilliance of the Cosmos. In all cases he'd declared that these things would happen and worked to make them so to those involved.

After he'd gained a connection with Crafthold and Dawn, he went north to Obsidia. Here he befriended the younger generation of the Invidia family. Gaining good standing within the settlement, it was here where he spent a good deal of his time. For the first six years of his time in freedom he'd spend it trying to revive the Church and working to impress his Paladin.

However, after being passed up for a knighthood in favor of Oscuri who'd been in the legion for less time. The embittered Neries declared to his Paladin he would do something of note. Marching into Huangzhou he openly challenged an Officer of the Fourfold at one of their towers. The battle ended in his defeat in capture. Currently he's been imprisoned within Huangzhou's jails. Chaffing under the loss of his freedom.

Syracuse ended up being free from the Huangzhou captivity, despite continuing to preach of his faith to those who'd listen. Exposing the virtues of Azrealism and Belialism to those who wished to learn. Yet, after he was released a the Qilin Syaoron Yuu who he'd fallen in love with began to die from betraying the Emperor. Choosing Syra over them. During this the demi-angel Sera Elisheva found them and attacked.

Syracuse was beaten and ran off, Syaoron was later executed. Since then he's worked on establishing his faiths back into prominence within Dawn. Spreading his bastardized teachings of Belial, Sareen, and Azreal. As well as fighting the enemies of the faiths during the war between the two settlements of Huangzhou and Dawn.

Here Syracuse hosts a meeting between members of a Belial cult, Hathor and Eniel Daigal, a traditional cell that formed while he was imprisoned. As well as Vedran Ivanovich, a vampire interested in learning of the faith from those involved. Here we have a scene where Syracuse explains why he is still faithful to Sareen and Azreal and how he can mesh the ideas of each deity in his own mind.

This happened while Syracuse was imprisoned in Huangzhou. In it he explains to Kirsi O'Cnaimhin about the tenets of Sareen and his beliefs. Right in front of other prisoners and guards. Showcasing that his faith wouldn't be daunted by imprisonment.

Syracuse approached a black-lined Oscuri, Emily Belle, attempting to help them come to terms with their choice and trying to re-convert them in the middle of Huangzhou. It should be noted this same Oscuri turned him into the Regent for trying to host the mass. So it was a big risk.

In this scene Syracuse explains the Tenets of Sareen to Emiri Taiyang the Illuminated Counselor over tea. It's a good example of his ability to relay the tenets to those of another faith and help them understand. As well as his willingness to speak to those who'd normally not be open to such explanations.

In this scene Syracuse faces off against Ahsera Ixis upon the fields outside of Dawn. Fighting in the war in order to gain his revenge but also to uphold his faith and it's legitimacy.

Another conversation with Kirsi over religion and the tenets of Sareen. General explanation of what they mean and the faith as well as defending it from the accusations of others.

Plans: Having fused the faiths into a Pantheon of deities and ideas. I intend to utilize the development as a preacher of the Grey Church to resurrect that religions within the game. As I've had success doing with Belialism. The goal is eventually to have a new faith take root that combines the different teachings. In short I want Syracuse to show that the various gods can work in concert to empower him.
