  1. Superbugs and antibiotic resistant bacteria (MRSA) are among the most common cause of deaths associated with antibiotic use. However, current knowledge does not distinguish between a bacterial-based antimicrobial drug-resistant strain of E.coli and a bacterial-based antimicrobial drug-resistant strain of MRSA. The authors conducted a systematic review of the scientific literature to identify studies that addressed this issue and reported their findings online in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infection (2015).

  3. The authors identified 15 studies that investigated the antibiotic resistance gene, Cactavacin-G, associated with MRSA. In these 15 studies, five trials were published in the last 15 years. Five of the five trials evaluated Cactavacin-G for the treatment of multidrug-resistant S. aureus (MDR-S). The other four trials were published in Europe. The studies included four different treatment regimens involving two different regimens of ciprofloxacin and one treatment regimen involving clindamycin. The treatment regimens included ciproflox
