THE SPIRITUAL WARFARE (Part 1)


Today’s Scripture reading is taken from the Book of REVELATION which reads:



“And WAR broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels FOUGHT with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels FOUGHT, but they did not PREVAIL, nor was a place found for them in Heaven any longer” (Revelation 12:7)



My beloved Brothers and Sisters in GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS, recently our study seem to have been revolving around the fallen angelic creature called Satan. However, he is not the subject of our study, but God wants us to know his evil ways, and how we can live victoriously by OVERCOMING this evil creature through our complete FAITH in the WATER, the BLOOD, and the RESURRECTION of CHRIST.

We must know that after the fall of angels, they were divided into two – HOLY angels and EVIL angels. Also after the fall of man, men were also divided into two – RIGHTEOUS men (children of God) and SINFUL men (children of the devil).

There has always been a “WAR” wherever Satan dwells because he is not for PEACE. Therefore when our Scripture reading says that “And WAR broke out in heaven,” It is because of this evil creature called the Devil. Because of him, there has always been a “WAR” between light and darkness, good and evil, righteousness and sin, truth and lies, life and death, children of God and children of the devil.



We must know that, God stands for light, goodness, righteousness, truth, and life. Whiles the Devil stands for darkness, evil, sin, lies and death. These two different things are at “WAR.” However, in this “WAR,” through JESUS CHRIST “who came by WATER and BLOOD” (1 John 5:6), light always prevails, righteousness always prevails, truth always prevails, life always prevails, and children of God always prevails.



When our Scripture reading in Revelation says that, “Michael and his angels FOUGHT with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels FOUGHT, but they did not PREVAIL,” it is telling us that darkness, evil, sin, lies and death have lost the battle (defeated). When it says “but they did not PREVAIL,” it means that there is no way Satan can prevail over JESUS CHRIST, and there is no way children of Satan can prevail over the children of God.



Our LORD and Saviour JESUS “FOUGHT” darkness and “PREVAIL” over it. Therefore when it says in Genesis that, “Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light” (Genesis 1:3), it is talking about how our Saviour “PREVAILED” over the darkness of SIN through His WATER BAPTISM and BLOOD.



JESUS who stands for Life also “FOUGHT” death and “PREVAILED” over it. That’s why He Himself said, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forever more. Amen. And I have the KEYS of Hades and DEATH” (Revelation 1:18).



That’s why the Apostle Paul also said, “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your VICTORY?” (I Corinthians 15:55). Then in verese 57 he said, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the VICTORY through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”



We must know that because Satan dwells in the world that we live in, there is always going to be a spiritual “WAR.” That’s why when you read the same chapter of Revelation, it says, “...Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because the knows that he has a short time” (Revelation 12:12b).



Even the physical WAR that we see is instigated by Satan who stirs up the evil desires in men to KILL one another. The devil has even gone to the extent of using chemicals to KILL human beings. The Devil works through SINNERS to accomplish his evil desires and purposes. That’s why Our LORD told us that he came to STEAL, to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10).



We must therefore know that as children of God, we are born to FIGHT spiritual battles and WIN. And the GOOD NEWS is that we have already been declared VICTORIOUS in this battle through our Lord JESUS CHRIST. That’s why it is written, “Yet in all these things we are more than CONQUERORS through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).



However, if you are a Christian and you are not truly born again of the WATER and the SPIRIT as JESUS told Nicodemus (John 3:5), then you must know that you are standing on the Devil’s side to FIGHT against the children of God. Therefore believe in JESUS BAPTISM in addition to His BLOOD in order for you to come to God’s side and FIGHT on His side. You can only WIN over sin and death when you stand on God’s side.



But if you remain a SINNER as a Christian, and you FIGHT for the Devil, then know for sure that you have already lost the battle. When Satan and his angels lost the battle in Heaven, the Bible says, “nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.” This means that in the same way, there will be no “place in heaven” for those who are SINNERS (children of Satan).



Also If a pastor, prophet, teacher, or an evangelist preaches or teaches a FALSE GOSPEL, then he must know that he is FIGHTING against the TRUTH in JESUS CHRIST. Such a person too will “not PREVAIL,” and there will be no “place found for them in Heaven.” If you therefore want to be a true Christian, then forget about your own denominational doctrines and seek for the Truth in  CHRIST.



The dragon and his angels fell down because our Lord God gave the Archangel Michael and his angels the POWER to FIGHT  and “PREVAIL” over the Devil. JESUS has also given us the same POWER to “PREVAIL” over the Devil. Therefore He said, “Behold, I give you the AUTHORITY to TRAMPLE on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).



When God gave the “AUTHORITY” for Michael and his angels to FIGHT the dragon, Satan fell down. When JESUS also gave the “AUTHORITY” to the disciples and the Saints, the Devil fell once again. Therefore when the seventy (70) disciples return to the LORD with JOY for the fact that demons were subjected to them, JESUS told them, “I saw Satan FALL like lightening from heaven” (Luke 10:18).



This “AUTHORITY” is given only to those who believe in THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. We must take not of the fact that when the disciples received the “AUTHORITY” to “TRAMPLE” over “serpents and scorpions” (Satan and his angels), JESUS had not yet even died on the Cross, and His BLOOD was not yet shed. But WHY is it that the disciples were able to “trample over all the power of the enemy?”



Here lies the MYESTERY of the Gospel of CHRIST, and it is none other than JESUS BAPTISM. The disciples were able to “trample on serpents and scorpions” because at that time JESUS had already fulfilled “all RIGHTEOUSNESS” for them in His BAPTISM (Matthew 3:15).



But what do we see today? Today, many FALSE pastors and prophets claim that demons are afraid of the BLOOD of JESUS. But why is it that the disciples never used the BLOOD of JESUS to cast out demons, and yet they were able to TRAMPLE over “all the power of the enemy?” The secret is in the WATER BAPTISM of JESUS.



Even before JESUS died to shed His BLOOD on the Cross, the disciples were given the “AUTHORITY” to fight and WIN spiritual battles over Satan and his demons. This alone shows that the pastors and the prophets who believe in only the BLOOD of JESUS to cast out demons are just joking. If they lay their hands on people to fall down, then it is the Devil who is just putting on a show.



How can somebody cast our demons when he doesn’t even believe that JESUS fulfilled “all RIGTEOUSNESS” in His BAPTISM? Nobody can WIN spiritual battles without having FAITH in the BAPTISM of CHRIST. The WINNERS in the spiritual warfare are those who wholeheartedly BELIEVE that JESUS “came by WATER and BLOOD” (1 John 5:6).



Therefore we the RIGHTEOUS born again Saints are BORN TO WIN, and we must FIGHT against the UNTRUTH with the TRUTH until the end of our lives in this world.



You have been BLESSED with the “AUTHORITY” to WIN in the SPIRITUAL WARFARE.

THE SPIRITUAL WAREFARE (Part 2)



Today’s reading of the Word is taken from the 1st Book of Samuel which reads:



“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF HOSTS, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” (1 Samuel 17:45).



We thank God for giving us His Word of BLESSING. The battle between David and Goliath is an account that every Christian is very familiar with. In fact even Non-Christians and people from other religious faith are also aware of this battle encounter because it was one of the biggest events in biblical history.



Even though many people including Christians see the whole event as something that took place on a PHYSICAL ground, it was more than physical. It was actually a SPIRITUAL WARFARE. For those of us who believe in the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God fulfilled by the WATER and the BLOOD of JESUS, God gives us a more spiritual insight into this WARFARE encounter between David and Goliath.



But it is very important for us to know who David was before he went into the battle. Concerning David, God said, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will” (Acts 13:22; 1 Samuel 13:14). WHY did God say this about David?



First of all David was a very HUMBLE person who admitted his sinful nature knowing very well that he was brought forth in iniquity, and in SIN his mother conceived him (Psalm 51:5). That’s why he said, “Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them” (Psalm 65:3).



From the verse above, you can see that David committed countless SINS throughout his life, and he knew very well that the animal sacrifices that he has been laying his hands to transfer his SINS could not actually remove his SINS away. He knew that it is JESUS CHRIST who will come and fulfill all things. That’s why he said, “As for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them.”



Secondly, David relied on God’s MERCY, and he BELIEVED in the SALVATION work of JESUS CHRIST. He told God, “But I have trusted in Your MERCY; My heart shall rejoice in Your SALVATION” (Psalm 13:5)



Thirdly, David did not TRUST in his own RIGHTEOUSNESS, but in the RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS CHRIST. And He actually went to FIGHT Goliath in the STRENGTH of this RIGHTEOUSNESS. Therefore He said, “I will go in the STRENGTH of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your RIGHTEOUSNESS, of Yours ONLY” (Psalm 71:16). Please take notice of the word “of Yours ONLY.”



When it comes to the sinful nature of man, David was not different from Goliath, and he was not better than him, neither was he RIGHTEOUS than him. For David himself said, “If you, LORD, should mark iniquities, O, Lord, who could stand?” (Psalm 130:3). In other words, David is saying right here that when it comes to “iniquities,” he is not better than Goliath.



He also said, “Do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is RIGHTEOUS” (Psalm 143:2). Here too, David is saying that neither he nor Goliath is RIGHTEOUSS before God, and therefore if God were to judge, then both he and Goliath cannot stand UPRIGHT before Him.



And yet upon all these, WHY did David emerge VICTORIOUS in his WARFARE encounter with Goliath and the Philistines? We will look at this the next day in our Bible studies.



David knew his WEAKNESS and STRENGTH before he went into the WAR. In his WEAKNESS, he knew very well that he has NO RIGHTEOUSNESS of his own, but when it comes to STRENGTH, the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD was his STRENTH.



There is no Christian who can WIN any spiritual battle against Satanic-Goliath without knowing these things. Anybody who TRUST in his own RIGHTEOUSNESS will be beaten by the spiritual Goliath called Satan the Devil, and the person will not only LOSE the battle, but he will be DESTROYED by this evil angelic creature to be sent into the fires of hell.



When we know these things, we will understand the reason WHY the Scripture says we are “more than conquerors” through JESUS who loved us (Romans 8:37). And we will give all the glory, honor, praise, and thanksgiving to our LORD GOD and Saviour JESUS CHRIST.



As Christians who are engaged in a SPIRITUAL WARFARE with Satan and his hosts, we must also know our own WEAKNESS and STRENGTH as David did. When we do this, we will never TRUST in our own GOOD DEEDS or RIGHTEOUSNESS, but we will put all our TRUST in what JESUS told John the Baptist when He said, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Matthew 3:15).



In waging the spiritual “WAR,” all our reliance, trust, and hope, must go into this “ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS” which JESUS fulfilled for us in His BAPTISM before paying for our SINS with His precious BLOOD on the Cross.



Tomorrow if God permit, we will dive deeper into David’s WARFARE encounter with Goliath and his VICTORIOUS proclamation.

THE SPRITUAL WARFARE (Part 3)



Our study continues from the previous day, so our reading is from the same Book of Samuel. It says:



“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF HOSTS, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you...” (1 Samuel 17:45-46a).



In our previous study, we were able to look at who David was before he went into the WAR with Goliath and the Philistines. We learnt that he was a man after God’s own heart due to his HUMILITY, his FAITH in the SALVATION of CHRIST who provided atonement for his SINS, and his TRUST in the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.



Before the combat between David and Goliath began, Goliath said, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods” (1 Samuel 17:43). This verse shows that Goliath went into the battle based on what he sees in the PHYSICAL.  When you read 1 Samuel 17-4-7, his structure and armor is given in detail. His height was six (6) cubits and a span, which is equivalent to nine 9 feet, 6 inches.



When the Scripture says that, “And the Philistine cursed David by his gods,” it means that Goliath was a child of Satan who worshipped the devil and his demons, but David was worshipping the Living God – JESUS CHRIST. That’s why I told you in our previous study that it was not just a PHYSICAL battle as many people see it, but it was SPIRITUAL.



David was not seeing things according to the PHYSICAL as Goliath did, but he was living in the realm of the domain of FAITH. Therefore he was not AFRAID to FIGHT Goliath the giant. That’s why he said, “I will not be AFRAID of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all round” (Psalm 3:6)



David told Goliath, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF HOSTS, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” If David tells Goliath that he is coming to him “IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF HOSTS,” he is referring to JESUS CHRIST. And what is the meaning of the “NAME” of this “LORD” with whom David went into the FIGHT?



The meaning is giving to us in Matthew, and it says, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will SAVE His people from their SINS” (Matthew 1:21). And HOW did JESUS “SAVE His people from their SINS?” The Bible says that He did it “by WATER and BLOOD” (1 John 5:6). Brothers and Sisters, the name JESUS means the One who SAVED His people from their SINS with His WATER BAPTISM and BLOOD.



It means that David went into the battle in the POWER and in the STRENGTH of the SALVATION of JESUS CHRIST. However, whiles many Christians believe that the five (5) smooth stones which David used to slung Goliath and strike him on the forehead represent JESUS, most of them do not actually BELIEVE in the SALVATION meaning of His “NAME,” and so they are still SINNERS.



Meanwhile our Scripture reading in Matthew says that the name JESUS means the one who will “SAVE” His people from their SINS. Why then are many Christians still SINNERS? Why are they still old creatures and not New Creatures?



First of all, the reason is because they don’t BELIEVE that JESUS “came by  WATER and BLOOD,” but they believe in only His BLOOD. Secondly they are still SINNERS because they are living according to the Natural Man (the FLESH). Many Christians are seeking to be born again of the FLESH, Redemption of the FLESH, Sanctification of the  FLESH, and Justification of the FLESH.



Those who do not worship God “in Spirit and in truth” (John 4:24), but who live according to the FLESH to worship God have also lost the battle as it happened to Goliath who based his FAITH on what he sees in the FLESH (1 Samuel 17: 43). Those who live before God in this way will surely be BEATEN by Satan and his host in the SPIRITUAL WAREFARE.



The reason is because they are living in the FLESH just like Goliath. However David was living “by FAITH and not by SIGHT” (2 Corinthians 5:7). The true Christians who are WINNERS in the spiritual battle against Satan and his host are those who don’t look at what their FLESH can do, but rather they put all their TRUST in the good works which JESUS CHRIST has done for them which is the RIGHTEOUSNESS which He fulfilled for them in His WATER.



Christians who are  SINNERS can never WIN in the SPIRITUAL WAREFARE. They will be BEATEN completely because when the enemy points their SINS they become weakened, and the enemy overpowers them because of their reliance on their SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS which are “filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6).

 But those who live not by what they see, and who TRUST in GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS will even wax more stronger and stronger because JESUS is their RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jeremiah 23:6). This is because when God told them, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29), they BELIEVED with all their heart without looking at their FLESH.

After David told Goliath that he is coming to him “IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS,” he also added, “Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’S, and He will give you into our hands”

Just take your time and pay attention to what David is saying here. He said, “the LORD does not SAVE with sword and spear.” In other words, God does not “SAVE” according to what you see in the FLESH. Then he said, “for the battle is the LORD’S.”



How many Christians BELIEVE like this? In fact most of them do not believe that “the battle is the LORD’S.” They don’t believe that our “WARFARE” against  SIN is the LORD’S battle. They believe that it is their own battle, and they must FIGHT SIN by themselves according to their self-will in the FLESH. JESUS fought the battle for them and WON, but they don’t BELIEVE He did.



Meanwhile God told us in Isaiah, “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her WARFARE IS ENDED, that her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD’S hand double for all her SINS” (Isaiah 40:1-2). How many Christians BELIEVE in what God is saying here? They call themselves BELIEVERS, but they don’t actually believe in the refined Word of God.



When God says here that our “WARFARE IS ENDED” it means that JESUS Himself fought our battle against SIN and He defeated SIN for us as David also BELIEVED that “the battle is the LORD’S.” We must know that it is God who defeated Goliath, and not David because David himself confessed that “the battle is the LORD’S.”



Therefore if you are a Christian and God is telling you that JESUS CHRIST has “ENDED” your SINS with His WATER, BLOOD, and RESURRECTION, and He says that your “iniquity is pardoned” and you don’t BELIEVE, then you surely belong to Satan, and there are no two ways about this. You must escape from the Devil’s camp by embracing this TRUE GOSPEL right now, else it may be too late for you.



It is not only in Isaiah where God told us that our “WARFARE IS ENDED,” but God also told us in Daniel that JESUS CHRIST “will FINISH the transgression, make an END OF SINS, make reconciliation for iniquity,” and “bring in EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Daniel 9:24). This is the reason why the Apostle Paul said that, “If anyone does not love the LORD JESUS CHRIST, let him be ACCURSED...” (1 Corinthians 16:22).



If you love your denominational doctrines more than the truth of God’s Word, you will be “ACCURSED,” and if you believe in man-made doctrines, you will be “ACCURSED,” and if you spread FALSE GOSPEL on this platform or elsewhere, you will be “ACCURSED.”



But those who believe that their “WAREFARE”  against SIN has “ENDED” by the WATER and the BLOOD of JESUS, and who preach the TRUE GOSPEL are BLESSED just like David as CONQUERORS.

THE SPIRITUAL WARFARE (Part 4).



Our reading of the Holy Word for today is from the same Book of Samuel which reads:



“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF HOSTS, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. (1 Samuel 17:45).



In our previous study of the above chapter and verse of 1st Samuel, we understood the fact that David defeated Goliath because he did not based his FAITH according to what he sees in the PHYSICAL, but in the SPIRITUAL realm. And the secret of his VICTORY was in the POWER of the “NAME OF THE LORD” JESUS.



Our Heavenly Father wants us to understand this “NAME” through which David overpowered Goliath very well. He wants us to know that JESUS is our God, our Father, Saviour, Brother, Friend, Provider, Helper, Intercessor, our Great Warrior, and everything to us. He wants us to know the effective POWER of the “NAME” of His only begotten Son, and how we have also defeated Satan, Sin and Death through the holy “NAME OF THE LORD.”



David who knew the secret of the “NAME OF THE LORD,” and who defeated Goliath because of the POWER of this “NAME,” explains the reason why God wants to teach us the “NAME” of JESUS very well. He said, “I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name. For you have MAGNIFIED Your WORD above all Your name” (Psalm 138:2).



In John 1:1, we are told that JESUS is the “WORD.” Therefore if David says here that God has “MAGNIFIED” His “WORD” above all His name, it means that God has exalted the NAME of JESUS above His own name. And as we move on, you will understand the POWER of the name JESUS and what His “NAME” mean to us.



Now I want us to look into the Scriptures and see the POWER of this “NAME” by which David obtained VICTORY over Goliath and in all the spiritual battles he fought. The Apostles such as John, Peter and Paul tells us the mystery and the POWER behind the “NAME” JESUS. So let’s take a look at them one by one.



The Apostle John said, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who BELIEVE in His NAME” (John 1:12). This means that you can never become a child of God if you don’t believe in the meaning of the “NAME” JESUS. This “NAME” means the One who “came by WATER and the BLOOD” (1 John 5:6) to “SAVE his people from their SINS” (Matthew 1:21).



Therefore if a Christian says he BELIEVES in JESUS and he is still a SINNER, then it is never true that he BELIEVES in Him. The Scripture above tells us that “to those who BELIEVE in His NAME,” He gave them “the right” to become “children of God.” God’s children are RIGHTEOUS, and so if you confess that you are still a SINNER, then you don’t actually know His “NAME” because His “NAME” means He has SAVED you from all your SINS.



The Apostle John also said, “I write to you, little children, because your SINS are FORGIVEN you for His NAME’S sake” (1 John 2:12). When a Christians fails to understand the meaning of the “NAME” JESUS his SINS cannot be forgiven. That’s why such people are still asking for the forgiveness of SINS every day.



Meanwhile the Word of God tells us that “Your SINS are FORGIVEN you for His NAME’S sake.” He didn’t say “Your sins are forgiven you for the sake of the prayers of repentance.” Is that what He said? Are these the same? But Satan whom God says in Revelation that he “deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9), has made Christians to believe that their SINS are not forgiven “for His NAME sake,” but their SINS are forgiven for the sake of the “prayers of repentance.”



When God told Adam and Eve, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat...” (Genesis 2:16-17), Satan changed these words, twisted them and told Eve, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1b). Just pay attention here and you will see that the words of God and that of the Devil are never the same.



God said, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat” but Satan changed it by telling them that did God indeed say “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” Please take a look at these two (2) words very well. The words “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat” and the words “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” are they the same?



Satan is very cunning. God told us “Your SINS are FORGIVEN you for His NAME’S sake.” but Satan has changed it and deceived Christians by telling them, “Your SINS are forgiven you for the sake of the PRAYERS OF REPENTANCE.” Are they the same? The former is from God, but the latter is coming from the Devil.



Brothers and Sisters in God’s RIGHTEOUSNESS, we are FIGHTING a spiritual battle against the UNTRUTH with the TRUTH. And we must surely overcome the UNTRUTH by holding onto our PURE FAITH unabated (continuously in full strength). JESUS is our VICTORY, and His “NAME” has given us the VICTORY as He did for David.



The Devil knows very well that our “SINS are forgiven” us “for His NAME’S sake,” but he doesn’t want the Christians to know this else they will overpower him. That’s why he deceives them to believe that forgiveness of SINS comes from the “Prayers of Repentance.” When you open your eyes wide to the TRUE GOSPEL, you will realize that Satan is really a snake under grass who keeps on biting Christian with his deadly poison (FALSE doctrines).



David taught his son Solomon about who the LORD is and the POWER of His “NAME.” And because of this Solomon also came to realized that obtaining VICTORY in the SPIRITUAL WAREFARE comes from the LORD. Therefore he said, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but DELIVERANCE is of the LORD” (Proverbs 21:31).



A Christian may have “prepared” his Prayers of Repentance very well for the day of battle against SIN, but the “DELIVERANCE” of the forgiveness of SINS “is of the LORD” JESUS because the Bible says that our “SINS are forgiven” us for “His NAME’S sake.”



David also said, “Some TRUST in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the NAME OF THE LORD our God” (Psalm 20:7). It means that some Christians “TRUST” in their fasting and all-night prayers; and others also “TRUST” in the “Prayers of Repentance”; and some “TRUST” in following the Law to pay their “tithes”; “But we will remember the NAME OF THE LORD” JESUS “our God.”



The Apostle Peter also knew the POWER of the “NAME” JESUS, and therefore he also said, “Nor is there SALVATION in any other, for there is no other NAME under heaven given among men by which we must be SAVED” (Acts 4:12). Peter is saying this because the Angel of the LORD told Mary that the “NAME” of the child JESUS means “He will SAVE His people from their SINS” (Matthew 1:21).



Just like David, the Apostle Paul also confirmed that God has exalted His Word  (JESUS) above His own name. He said, “Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the NAME which is above every NAME, that at the NAME of JESUS every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).



God exalted the NAME of JESUS above His own name because of our SALVATION by the WATER and the SPIRIT. He did this according to the good pleasure of His will because He loves us so much. Even before the  foundation of the world, it was God’s utmost desire for JESUS to take our SINS upon Himself through His BAPTISM, DIE on the wooden Cross, and to RESURRECT on the third day.



And because JESUS fulfilled this will of the Father, God was so much “pleased” to exalt the NAME of JESUS above His own name. But do you remember what made God so much pleased with JESUS? Well if you have forgotten then let me remind you that it was when JESUS was BAPTIZED. After He was BAPTIZED by John, God said, “This is My beloved SON in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17).



God exalted the “NAME” of JESUS because He is the One who accomplished His SALVATION works. So let us understand that God did this for our sake. We are therefore bound to give even more THANKS to the FATHER and JESUS CHRIST for this. It is just awesome. God is so good, the TRINITY is so good to us.
