  1. It's time for a giveaway!
  2.
  3. The electricity generated by the Power Plants across the Pokémon world often attract the attentions of a myriad of Electric-type Pokémon. On occasion, rare and powerful Pokémon are drawn to this electricity, including today's ubiquitous legendary Pokémon that hails from the Kanto region. Descending from dark thunderclouds, this fearsome bird sparkles and flashes like the lightning bolts that it commands: it's a Shiny Zapdos! Each one comes with 31/0/HT/31/31/31(?) IVs(, which grants Zapdos a Hidden Power type of Ice). Keep an eye out for the OT: CHRIS(?) | ID: (?) to make sure you received the right one; if it has a different OT and/or ID, it did not come from us. Strong stats across the board, a solid defensive typing, and access to reliable recovery allow Zapdos to stop many of the most threatening offensive Pokémon in the OU metagame. Access to Defog allows it to perform the ever-important task of hazard removal, while its good range of attacks and high Special Attack prevents it from being reduced to passivity. Finally, Zapdos' Hidden Ability Static forces threats that rely on contact moves to gamble with their health every time they try to land an attack. https://www.smogon.com/dex/sm/pokemon/zapdos/

  5. As with our other giveaways, here’s how to participate:
  6. - Each wave begins at the following times (all times are UTC-4): 10 am (right now), 1 pm, 6 pm, and 9 pm.
  7. - Catch a Staryu if you don't have a spare already. Staryu can be commonly found in sand spots on Hano Beach in all versions.
  8. - Nickname the Staryu: SmogonU (Note: something close to that is fine if SmogonU is too long for your game's language).
  9. - Log on to the GTS, deposit your Staryu, and set the Pokémon you want in return as Zapdos. If Zapdos is not in your Pokédex, you can type in its name manually from the bottom.
  10. - Set the level range as "91 or higher".
  11. - Select "Deposit Pokémon".
  12. - Limit 1 per person.
  13.
  14. A wave will typically last around 1-1.5 hours, but we’ll announce the start and end to each wave with comments to this post. You can plan ahead though by double-checking the wave times with a time zone converter such as this one: https://www.worldtimebuddy.com. To increase your chances of receiving a Pokémon, we recommend that you re-upload your Staryu about every 5-10 minutes and at the start of each wave.
  15.
  16. Thanks to MamOwOswine and Christian for this week’s art and Pokémon respectively. Finally, please note that the Zapdos has been cloned for this giveaway. If you are opposed to cloned Pokémon, we respect your opinion and ask you not to participate.
  17.
  18. Good luck, everyone!
