BACKGROUND:
lu hyunsik, an aspirant lawyer and seo jangmi an ambitious fashion designer. two years into their relationship, the pair were happily wed, despite claims that they wouldn't last due to their conflicting career fields. contrary to belief, the couple anticipated the birth of their first child six months later. lu narae, born on the eleventh of november just as the sun rose from its wake. the pair were in a state beyond euphoria.

the lu family resided in the affluent neighborhood of kensington, where hyunsik pursued his successful career as a trial lawyer. unlike jangmi, who proceeded to put her passion behind her as she raised her daughter. it wasn't long until the couple were anticipating the arrival of their second child, a baby boy named lu minjae; or as narae likes to call “little shit". the lu siblings proceeded to live a golden childhood despite their father’s recurring absences; their mother slowly following suit. one in which narae and minjae would often endure alone at times as their parents became more and more consumed by their jobs as time passed by.

 becoming independent at a young age for narae had many perks; one being the freedom to do whatever without question. using this to her advantage, narae had always been a reckless child who valued happiness over logic. the amount of times narae had thrown a dance party at the ungodly hours of three a.m, was a normal occurrence in the lu household. the nanny would usually be met with a frivolous ball of hype, dancing in front of her mirror as if the world were as carefree as she. it was evident even then, at the ripe age of five, that the realm of dance would be her element, her world, her escape.

during her growth as a pre-teen, narae and her brother experienced the first heartbreak of their lives. narae’s mother had been offered a promotion in her hometown of seoul. though not wanting a divorce, the couple agreed to committing to a long distance relationship, inevitably splitting the family. it was only a matter of time before narae and her mother were seated on the first plane to seoul, her heart torn in two.

life in seoul certainly took a bit of time to adjust for narae, considering her korean wasn't as up to par as the locals; her comprehension just ending at informal speech. native customs and traditions were a learning process for the young girl. nonetheless the young teen became unfathomed and unbothered when it came to tending to her school studies, it was evident she lacked the desire or will to endeavor in her schoolwork. much rather preferring to immerse herself in her more proactive or abstract classes such as dance and art as opposed to traditional math and history. narae developed a proclivity for all things regarding the realm of arts, especially dance. what was once considered a mere hobby, grew to spark a burning passion in the young girl. she found herself enamoured by its ability to drown a person in a certain way, relieving her of the stress and reality of her struggles.

as she transcended to high school narae became accustomed to her blossoming beauty. the frequent complements and growing popularity became a normality in her life at seoul’s school of performing arts. she soon found her flirty nature and beauty, to be of a great asset to her.

COMPETITIVE + STUBBORN. / probably one of the most dreaded opponents when it comes to competitions. because once narae's competitive nature is conjured, there is literally no way of stopping her from proving her worth. she’s not afraid to let her opinion be heard, because if lu narae wants something, she will most likely achieve it. the word “losing” is practically unheard of in her vocabulary, for she is the type to endure no sleep for a challenge to an all-nighter or an eating contest at the cost of her waistline. she is extremely prideful and refuses to even acknowledge losing as something that’s naturally part of life; you can see where her stubbornness comes into play.

HIS PERSONALITY :
jaehyun has acquired a golden image for himself throughout high school and college. a generally popular guy who excels in all aspects of school whether it be academically, through sports and the arts; jung jaehyun has it all. a natural ambivert, jaehyun has the tendency to appear reserved and snobbish at first glances due to his neutral expression; but once considered a friend, the change in aura is incredibly different. boasting a bright dimpled adorned smile, jaehyun is without a doubt golden. ultimately a dork that everyone who befriends him can't help but love. he's got one of the biggest hearts and easily empathizes with others; his ability to comfort people in a time of need is honestly heartwarming. he's one to put others before himself and is genuinely considerate to the point others think he's an angel.


HOW DID YOU MEET? :
though coming from relatively the same social status and high school, neither had actually interacted beyond the occasional stare; their knowledge of each other were based solely from looks and rumours. it wasn’t until jaehyun stumbled upon an argument between narae and the headmaster, that he acted further.

after one of jaehyun’s basketball games, he opted to stay behind to continue practicing. coincidently at the great hand of fate, narae was requested to also stay behind to discuss her position as leader of the school’s dance and cheerleading team. technically not eavesdropping, as narae’s protest was loud enough to be heard through the entire building, jaehyun’s curiosity got the best of him.

the headmaster had informed the girl that if her poor grades were to remain by the end of the semester she would be removed from both her extracurricular programmes. her passion and pride on the line. left completely dumbfounded, narae slumped onto one of the bleachers. unaware of the boy playing basketball in front of her as her mind blanked, devoid of thoughts. ultimately jaehyun himself felt a great deal of sympathy for the girl, as he stole a few curious glances at her slouched frame; her eyes fixated at a spot on the floor.
jaehyun could've sworn he saw a teardrop stain her uniform, but narae was quick to notice, wiping her tears as fast as they had appeared. this action alone initiated jaehyun's motive to comfort the girl.

after managing to make the girl laugh, he offers his knowledge as a private tutor for narae in exchange of a spot on the dance team.
