- Frisk's head was thumping as he opened his eyes, slowly to adjust to the harsh glare of light glancing off his face. Pale shadows skittered around the sides of his vision dancing back and forth whispering as he regained consciousness ".. do you think he'll agree?" "He has no choice." "What if he tries to.." "He can't overpower all of us. Not when we work together." "Quiet! He's waking up". The shadows stilled as the light lowered, illuminating a cracked stone floor stretching off into the pitch black emptiness. Frisk felt ropes gripping his arms, holding them behind his back. The knots were tough, and probably wouldn't be easy to break. Frisk's feet wouldn't budge even though he couldn't feel anything holding them down. Must be some sort of magic. Why tie his hands though? Thoughts for later.
- The Shadows began to shift again, shuffling forward into the halo of light surrounding Frisk. There were 6 of them. 6 Robed figures wearing different colours. The same colours as the souls from long ago. "Frisk. Human Ambassador for the Monsters. We have called you here to-" Frisk spat a glob of blood on the ground in front of him, cutting the Robed man off. "I don't have time for your games. Tell me what you want and how I can help. I'll do anything in my power to assist you." The Robed figure hesitated, his hand hanging in the air, all pomp dismissed. Must've prepared a grand speech for me, thought Frisk. Too bad I don't have the time to listen , I've got things to do. Stepping forward, another robed figure, wearing a cyan robe spoke. "We need your determination. The world is facing a grave threat, you know that a monster stole a human soul. We care little for your posturing on serving monster kind, if we willed it we'd reseal them in an instant like our forefathers before us. However.. it seems your powers override ours somehow so we've decided to go straight to the source."
- Frisk smiled. "All you want is my determination? I'll gladly hand it over to you. Free me and let me handle the killer and you can have it." The Robed men stared at each other silently. The only noise was a shifting of robes and scuffling of boots on the concrete floor. "No." said the cyan robed figure with a definite finality. "You will not assist us. We shall TAKE your determination with or without your co-operation and destroy this creature ourselves. It will already be insanely powerful with just one soul. We are surprised there haven't been other attacks." Grinning even further Frisk stared down the cyan figure calmly, with sweat sliding down his face as he went over the situation in his head, thinking of some way to get out and warn his family about this killer who would ruin everything. "If you were going to simply take my determination you'd have done it by now. Tell me, what's stopping you?" He'd hit a nerve. The Wizards all started whispering amongst their selves, some nervously twitching their hands underneath the voluminous rags of clothing they wore, draped on their frames.
- The man wearing yellow stepped into the halo of light this time, he was the shortest of the group but the voice that boomed forth was far from meager. "We can't seem to.. find it. We know you are responsible for many impossible situations when you were running around the underground. We felt the world shift time and again as you used those powers. To reset the entire world was an impossibility we couldn't understand. After studying you over the years and the lack of powers you exhibited we decided it must've been some sort of fluke involving the.. unique situations of the underground. Regardless - Right now. We cannot find any above average levels of determination within your soul." The sweat began to pool at Frisk's spine as the Yellow robed man droned on sonorously in his deep voice. He hadn't used his powers in so long he didn't think it strange for them to shrink but to think he didn't have any at all?
- The relief must've shown on his face because the wizards shaded visages showed signs of frustration. "You mean I can't reset any more? Honestly?" "Yes" replied the yellow wizard. "Why on earth does that make you happy? Did you not want the powers of a god?" Tears streamed down Frisk's face. "No, I honestly didn't. Now I don't need to worry about breaking my promises ever again." Standing up, Frisk dropped the ropes that had shackled him. The wizards stepped back, gasps erupting from their shrouded faces. "When did you-" Kneeling down frisk tried to feel out the magic lock holding him down. It was quite simple with such a good teacher as Toriel. A light click echoed through the room. Waving his hands, Frisk illuminated the room, switching on all the lights with a flick of his wrist. Frisk stared down the robed figures, taking in every detail. Frisk could see a small warehouse room with crates piled up in corners, a couple of lights now flickering to life flashed against the reflective windows surrounding the top of the area. "Thank you, for the information guys. It was a bit of a gamble coming here but I've learned something very valuable. If you still want to help me please feel free to contact the Ambassadorial office I'm sure you can find the number."
- "Wait!" yelled the orange robed wizard. "You think we're just going to let you go?" You and your monsters are a threat to humanity, this proves it! Even if you somehow capture this fool alone monster kind will forever be tarnished." Clasping a hand onto Orange's shoulder, the purple wizard pepped up. "As much as it pains me to agree, OJ is right. How can you stop the rest of humanity from fearing monsters when this happens? As far as records go, this is the very first time a monster has ever taken a human soul. Even during the great war between our races there was no reports of a monster ever stealing a human soul." Frisk spun on his heels, glaring at the group. "I have fought every single day my entire adult life to protect monsters from human fear. Don't you think I've thought every moment of every minute of every hour since I found out exactly what I can do to stop the torrent of hate coming monsters way?" Stopping to breath, Frisk looked around him. He could see glistening faces hiding beneath those deep hoods.
- "What I do know" Frisk continued "Is that we need to work together to accomplish anything. I'm going out there to face whoever this is. I'm going to save them and then they are going to be judged by a group of their peers and punished accordingly." The wizards were silent. Possibly contemplating being something OTHER than a pain in Frisks side. If the thought ever passed through their heads it was banished quickly. "No" intoned the yellow wizard. "We can't leave this to you, the investment you're holding in this is far too personal." The group nodded collectively. "Especially considering who the main suspect is in the case" said the purple wizard as she stood one hand on her hip, the other hand listlessly dangling to the side. Frisk's blood boiled over as he clenched his fist, his knuckles cracking and popping. "And who, exactly, is this suspect of yours?" Frisk said through clenched teeth. The green wizard stuck his hands into deep pockets, kicking the stones on the ground. "Frisk.. you know who it is. Don't make us tell you."
- His patience had ran out. Frisk turned to the exit, baring his back to the robed fools. "You can think what you want. My offer for help still stands but if you continue to get in my way I can't save you. " Shoulders slumped, Frisk headed for the door, stopping just before it. "You took a big risk capturing me today, I can appreciate that. I really think we could do great things together. I know you like to stay in the shadows but the force for good you could be.. It saddens me that it can't be realised." The exit was just a few feet from Frisk. Walking towards it he halted just before exiting to address the group. "Oh, just before I forget to say, don't bother looking for Rg02. He'll be halfway across the world by now with his partner earning his long awaited break." A groan elicited from the doors as Frisk pushed them open, the cold night air rushing into the darker interiors of the warehouse, blowing out the tiny candles and fluttering the papers lying on desks around. The stars glittered in the sky. No nearby streetlamps, Frisk thought to himself. It wouldn't be too hard to work out where he was as long as he kept heading in the one direction.
- The wizards stood in the warehouse silent and unmoving, trying to process what had just happened. The orange robed individual was the first to break. Breathing wildly he looked about at the other members of his group. "Just what in the tarnation happened there?!" The green wizard placed a hand on oranges shoulder. "Peace, brother. We were played like fools. Looks like Rg02 was in Frisk's employ all along." Shoving green off, Orange exploded. "Aren't we going to go recapture him? He just walked out! We are 6 he is 1 with NO determination worth a damn." This time it was purple who replied. "He just undid our strongest sealing bond that we had to work together on AND lit up the room all with the flick of his wrist. When have we been able to do something so powerful, OJ? We are not our forefathers, we can barely light a candle collectively never mind the feats he just performed." Deflating, Orange slumped into the chair that held Frisk just moments before. "What about this god monster though? It's going to destroy humanity and we're the only people capable of stopping it!" Now it was Blue's turn to talk. The last of the six. "No, Orange. There's someone else. We met him tonight. If he can do that to us without us realising it.. I feel sorry for the creature who he's hunting down now.
- "The only people who should be feeling sorry is you lot."
- The lights illuminating the room switched off as a dark shadow stepped into the doorway. The moon illuminated a slender figure radiating terrible intent, rows of sharp teeth flashing in the moonlight. Behind it, a red soul floated, shackled by a thin tether of magic.
- "6 souls all in the one location. Quite strong for humans - too. Thanks for making my life just that much easier."
- A ferocious wind roared through the warehouse, slamming the door behind the Monster as it waltzed inside.
- It was then that the screaming began.
