Special Containment Procedures: Due to its nature, SCP-Ωα is unable to be fully contained. All access points to SCP-Ωα (“Anchorheads”) are to be located as soon as possible and quarantined by any means necessary, up to and including lethal force. Persons residing in areas around Anchorheads are to be dosed with Class-A amnestics and relocated, or terminated if displaying resistance to amnestics. Settlements and manmade structures within 5 km of an Anchorhead are to be razed to the ground via non-anomalous fire and any remaining rubble to be removed from the site in accordance with Procedure Ωα-1 (“Scorched Earth”), and replaced with area-appropriate flora with as little mechanical assistance as possible. D-Class are available freely for the hand planting of trees, grass, etc.

A perimeter extending 5 km in each direction around an Anchorhead is to be established under the guise of a wilderness preserve appropriate for the area, and as little man-made technology as possible is to be allowed ingress into the perimeter. Exploration of the perimeter via human or animal is permitted, and video and sound recording equipment should be as compact as possible. Testing involving heavy-duty equipment must be approved by O5.

Any entities exiting an Anchorhead (collectively SCP-Ωα-A) are to be terminated if possible, or captured and contained until a means of destruction is determined. A full listing of SCP-Ωα-A specimens is located in Document Ωα-07.

Description: SCP-Ωα is an organism existing partially in the Baseline plane of existence and partially phasing out into an unknown location or reality. What has been observed of SCP-Ωα resembles a melanistic Causus rhombeatus (African night adder) on a titanic scale, with the smallest recorded section measuring an approximated 1km in diameter. Living organisms are unable to approach closer than 20m without suffering adverse effects to physiology, mental state, or [DATA EXPUNGED], but reports from those still capable of understandable speech report the surface of the object to be cool to the touch, and throbbing “like a heartbeat.”

At seemingly random points across the object’s length, thick strands resembling spiderwebs cross its surface, digging into the scales in places and occasionally nearly bisecting sections. These strands are highly resistant to damage, and seem to serve to keep the object restrained; who or what originally contained the object is unknown at this time.

Internal structure of the object is difficult to observe, but what can be observed appears to be composed of solid muscle, with no organs or bones visible in bisected areas. On occasion, a viscous greenish-black substance will leak from these areas and pool around the object. This substance is acidic (pH approx. between 1 and 2), and has extremely adverse effects on living creatures. (See Document Ωα-04 for a full list of effects)

No posterior end has ever been located, but a few Anchorheads appear to be located on important locations on the rest of the body, including a head, a location where the object splits into two, and what is believed to be the location of the object’s heart.

Sections of SCP-Ωα are located exclusively in subterranean areas and are accessed via natural caves, sinkholes, mines, etc.
