- Given changes to Nintendo's servers, this is useful for anyone who wants a perfect save in DQ7 3DS prior to April of 2024. After that server closure date, it's almost useless without hacking in DLC items/equipment or maps, or unless someone creates a player run server that allows DLC access.
- The portion of the FAQ I pulled with the last updates I planned to allow for...I should have cleaned it up, but no time.

- --==< [spec.3a] Solo Kiefer / Super Kiefer / The Perfect Start >==--
- ====,___________________________________________________________,====
- Q1: What is Super Kiefer?
- A1: Kiefer, at 50, has an explosion of Resilience. The game will make a forced
- check for 660 total Resilienc. Then it gives the exact amount to bring up
- Resilience to 660 at level 50.
- So let's say you have 86 base Resilience at level 49, and no seeds were
- used. The game will subtract 86 from 660 and give the remainder as a
- fixed bonus, bringing it to an exact number of 660.
- Assuming any seeds were given, let's say +5 or +10, or +15, it seems that
- the game will potentially allow for over 660, but my last Super Kiefer was
- consistently a fixed 660 after seeds. So the former experience may have
- been a fluke or bug.
- Just note that at level 50, Kiefer will end up with an exact value of 660
- Resilience. Yeah...feel that breath of awesome. Just note you're not
- invincible, just really difficult to kill.
- Q2: What is the point of doing this?
- A2: Several reasons.
- The first being Kiefer is a temporary character, and
- cannot be recruited again, nor returns once he leaves. So why not make the
- most out of his presence, and "extend" the time with him?
- The game can be a bit on the easy side with most of the changes to the
- original game, and while a few tweaks were made to some enemies to make up
- for this, they're overall lacking any real punch. So this allows for a
- level 1 party going into Alltrades Abbey, and taking full advantage of
- Kiefer's abominable Defense, naturally high Strength, and naturally high HP
- to gather equipment and items from Tablets, mostly DLC Tablets.
- The third reason is based on the second, but to extend it a bit. This
- allows an uber setup that can be started over and over and over again with
- quite a number of options available for a "new" game. If you want to start
- from the beginning again...sure, do it, then get to the point where your
- Super Kiefer base save is stopped at, and start up the SK base version, and
- save over the new slot, starting up that new game from the same point,
- missing no story, and having infinite options.
- The fourth and final reason is based on the third. Essentially there is no
- absolute that the DLC servers will be up and running permanently, or that a
- solution to fix this, should they go down permanently, is guaranteed. This
- allows a player to start a new game in this scenario, and still have access
- to all DLC equipment, all DLC monsters tamed, and at least the four DLC
- maps with special bosses that cannot be tamed. Perhaps starting with more
- in-game items available through 24-hour traded maps, and hunting the
- monsters present there. Not to mention gobs of gold right from the get-go.
- This may also include the other unique items specific to the 3DS release
- that are not available in either the DLC, or through the normal game, but
- require the ability to create tablets with a completed Monster Meadows.
- Q3: When can this be done?
- A3: The earliest point is after the third island, Regenstein, is completed, and
- the Haven is unlocked. At this point the game will allow trading the gift
- maps if they're completed, either through Street Pass, or the 24-hour
- service. Or using the download bar for the DLC maps. This allows access
- to the full Haven and with it the basic casino and tombola.
- I find it best to wait until after L'Arca is completed. This is for three
- reasons. The first being Ruff is obtained, the second being the Big Book
- of Beasts is obtained. The third and final reason being the Iron Axe can
- be farmed in Falrish, without even triggering any of the story events in
- Falrish. This makes a massive impact as it allows easier level farming
- in Falrish until enough DLC and 24-hour service maps are found to fully
- unlock The Haven.
- Do note that once all maps are made available, the Haven can be unlocked
- immediately after Regenstien. So it's a matter of preference for the book
- and Ruff immediately or to be saved for later.
- Q4: Is this difficult and time consuming?
- A4: Only at the start. This will act as a mini-guide for the whole process of
- solo Kiefer, both before the full 24-hour map release, and after they're
- available.
- The start is slow because it requires killing off your other characters and
- assuring they die again and again, as the game tends to revive them at
- particular points.
- After that, farming an Iron Axe, or playing slots and Lucky Panel until the
- desired casino gear is obtained can take time. After that, initial levels
- are slow. Sometimes very slow.
- Q5: Do I really want to keep the other characters dead? Why not just level
- them up as well?
- A5: It defeats the purpose of using this as a baseline model especially down
- the road when potentially the DLC maps are unavailable, and no cheat device
- will suffice for accessing them, or a save state hack isn't developed to
- allow such access.
- That said, it's up to you. At your own discretion.
- Q6: Is there a way to speed up levels early on?
- A6: Yes. If the Haven is complete, or can be completed right away, the Tombola
- mini-game's main prize is of inestimable value. There are only 2 free
- Tombola tickets found in the Safehouse to use. So it's best to Quick Save
- outside town, then play Tombola until a Gold Ball is obtained. This will
- net the Extra-Elevating Shoes, which grants 2xp per step.
- The speed of exp gains at a consistent full run can easily outstrip all
- other leveling processes, and even outstrip the time it takes to obtain a
- Gold Ball with poor luck by 10x. It is the fastest method of leveling
- through to level 30, and is one of the fastest from 30~40, and is a great
- help going from 40 to 50.
- Post 50 the accessory has little to no value, and other accessories won
- through DLC or certain tablet bosses/enemies are far and away more useful.
- Q7: Ok, so I'm going to keep my levels at 1, but how do I get through the
- Maeve battle without accruing any exp?
- A7: Simple. Choose not to battle her. Or if you chose to, if the Wooden Doll
- is in your inventory, use it. If not, then just run from battle.
- ------------------------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a1] EARLY GAME THROUGH TO THE HAVEN )))>
- ==========================================
- Start -> Kill all other characters, kill around Ballymolloy to level 4 or 5,
- using herbs to stay alive (cheaper than the inn).
- Enter Colourstone Mine @Lv4/5 -> Get down to bottom.
- Ballymolloy -> Recruit Hanlon, SAVE. Put Kiefer in the rear if he's not.
- Eastern Tower -> Run to the tower, run from each battle until the party members
- but Kiefer are dead. Abuse Hanlon and kill on Floors 2 and 3
- until 7 or 8. Save in Ballymolloy, take on Golem. Save again,
- level to 10 abusing Hanlon, in the upper floors. Be sure to
- return to Ballymolloy and rest at the Inn this time (Hanlon's
- MP will deplete, and it's necessary to speed up the Clawser
- battle).
- Emberdale -> Make sure to kill the party members on the way to town (run from
- all battles, assuring the other party members are in the front).
- Make sure to put Kiefer in the front after the rest of the party
- is dead. Buy Scale Shield and Armour. Buy as many Herbs as
- possible (99 if possible, stuff Kiefer's slots with them as well).
- Burnmont -> Put Kiefer in the rear again, kill party by running until they're
- dead. Get to the Sacred Knife, get to the heal spot. Level to 12
- abusing the Healing spot. Take on the boss (8 is the lowest level
- to possibly handle this, especially if level ups were favourable to
- HP and Strength, 10 is very doable, but 12 assures both this, and
- the next area will be doable).
- The Haven -> Get the first three story recruits, leave it at that for now. ONLY
- collect Slimetree Forest. Do not speak to the other two haven
- recruits. Do not forget to enter the stairs, speak to the young
- girl next to the plinth, then enter the portal, then the building
- and check the items on the table for the Monster Munchies. Speak
- to the old man for the first dialogue from the Street Pass guy.
- Return to The Haven, and enter the bar. Make sure to grab the
- Mini Medal in the bar. Then speak to the bartender.
- IF DLC is still active, sign into the DLC, snag 11 maps including
- "Sticky Business" to farm Strong Medicine. It's a good idea to
- also grab Feline Forest for later leveling, and possibly Treasure
- Hunt. Check spec.3a5 and below for ideas on what maps to grab now
- for the purpose of getting those items immediately following level
- 50 or 99.
- If DLC is not active, and if you have another 3DS system, or have
- a friend who either has DQ7 3DS, or another 3DS system he/she is
- willing to let borrow or to help with this, move to spec.3a2. The
- Iron Axe and a few levels are necessary for completing Slimetree
- Forest, so it can be traded.
- If DLC is no longer active, no player has created a player-made
- DLC server, no extra 3DS system is available, and no friend is
- available to help with this who has another 3DS and/or DQ7, then
- stop right here, this is not going to happen. Or wait out until a
- fan-made server pops up, as eventually it will.
- Leave town through the front gate, return to see it reset to level
- 3, and be sure to grab all the items. Then return to the DLC
- server to snag 8 more. Use the lists below for suggestions.
- Leave town through the front gate, then return to reset the town
- to the final form. Grab the items available (especailly the
- Tombola Tickets).
- Enter Sticky business and farm 7 Strong Medicine from the chests
- and barrels on the first and second floors. Then beat Slimetree
- Forest (abuse Focus Strength and Flame Slash)...you may blow
- through all 7 Strong Medicine.
- There are two options. The first is to trade Sticky Business for
- maps on Street Pass with the old man in the cabin on the other
- side of the portal. This allows you to either pick and choose
- maps, or let your friend/s do so.
- The second is to use the DLC server, assuming it's still up. If
- 3 maps are desired, go ahead and speak to the old man in the cabin
- on the other side of the warp, and delete a bunch, or all of the
- DLC maps snagged except maybe "Treasure Hunt," "Feline Forest,"
- and perhaps "Sticky Business," for farming more Strong Medicine.
- Do note there is a limit of 24 maps given by others.
- Enter the Download Bar again, this time trade Slimetree Forest,
- and pray to get 3 maps, and at least one with a Scarewell as the
- main, or a Metal Slime as the main (the pots are decent...will
- require level 20 at the least to handle them, and even then it's
- VERY iffy if there's more than 2 on the map).
- !IMPORTANT! - If the Haven can be completed asap (DLC server is still up), and
- you desire not to get the Book of Beasts to keep track of
- monsters, and Ruff, skip the next section.
- For a list of DLC Tablets and when they're doable, continue down
- four sections, or search: DLC Tablets doable pre-50
- The following is ONLY relevant if the DLC servers are shut down:
- ----------------------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a2] GETTING THE BBoB AND IRON AXE )))>
- ========================================
- L'arca -> Try to beat the boss at level 12. Hopefully he goes down. If not,
- return to the present, head to the Shrine's portal to the volcano,
- enter, hit the free healing spot, and level to 14, the defacto
- sure-fire thing (still a difficult battle at times).
- Faraday -> Save in Frobisher. Buy the Iron Lance, make sure to have 99 Herbs,
- get any extra defense equipment possible. Farm for Iron Axes (1 will
- do). Just kill, kill, kill the Automatons until level 18 at the
- least, 20 at the most.
- DO NOT COMPLETE FARADAY...AND DO NOT ENTER THE STAIRS IN FROBISHER'S CHURCH.
- - This will avoid starting any story bits in Frobisher, which allows doing
- all of the story of Frobisher/Faraday from start to finish when deciding
- to start the game normally after being satisfied with time spent as Super
- Kiefer. Or to utilize after setting up a perfect file with Super Kiefer
- for each new game. It's just easier to manage continued story progress
- this way.
- -----------------------------------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a3] THE HAVEN TO FINAL FORM AND LEVELING TO 50 )))>
- =====================================================
- IF the Haven is complete...make sure to do two things:
- 1) Get the Extra Elevating Shoes...this is imperative to leveling fast. Do
- note that below, Method #1 might take some time as it assumes limited access
- to online trading or sharing maps. Do note these are only good through to
- level 30.
- 2) Play Slots until around 5,000~10,000 tokens, then Lucky Panel...you'll want
- the following:
- - War Hammer (64 Atk)
- - Full Plate Armour (34 Def)
- - Iron Shield (13 Def)
- - Iron Mask (22 Def)
- It's now time to level. Keep track of your daily Download Bar trade times.
- Make sure to get a 24-hour trade each day. Hopefully there's 3 each time, and
- each time a map with a new monster as the head. Hopefully some of them can be
- used for leveling.
- LEVELING METHOD 1 (No DLC is available, limited ability to trade, or waiting
- out a fan-made DLC server)
- NOTE: this assumes the Haven cannot be completed immediately
- so access to the casino and form 4 might take some
- time.
- NOTE2: This is not possible to really accomplish with any
- reasonable ability without either some method of
- trading maps with another system to slowly build up
- the Haven, or some form of sporadic DLC server access
- through some means (maybe only through an external
- Wifi portal). Or it assumes the player decides to do
- this after reaching Faraday, as this part was based
- on my first Super Kiefer, where I learned about the
- level 50 Resilience bonus just after reaching Faraday
- or just prior, and decided to try it out at that
- point, and the DLC server was running weekly maps at
- the time.
- NOTE3: So this was relevant while the weekly circulation
- was present. It's not anymore, so it's best to move
- onto Method 2 and 3, as all maps are available all at
- once.
- Leveling to 20 -> Faraday works well, if the availability of getting the
- + Gust Slash Haven to level 4 might take awhile as it's 1 NPC added
- every 8 hours using street pass. Kill Automatons only.
- It's slow from 18 to 20, but still very doable.
- If there's no desire to take the game as far as Faraday,
- and instead maintain the game at either just after
- Regenstien or L'Arca, then either tough it out in Burnmont
- to 18, then use the Slimetree Forest boss to get to 20, or
- one of the following options:
- - CFW the 3DS, and learn how to save state manage and
- grant DLC maps. That I cannot help with, but once
- learned, would be a surefire thing.
- - wait out a fan-made DLC server or a fan-made patch to
- allow the 3DS (would require CFW) to access the server
- without need to be connected online.
- - get a second 3DS system to self-trade with, and pursue
- option 3 below, though that means waiting out for an
- eventual DLC server from a fan group, or connectivity to
- the official, assuming they're still up and running.
- Or just put up with the slow pacing of sharing between 3DS
- units if that's possible to eventually get to 20 total
- shares if that's the only method. If a second unit is
- available over the course of days, it's 3~4 shares per day,
- though with work, probably 1~3, 2 average. So that's 10
- days. In that time farming Tombola Tickets by sharing maps
- that drop them, like a level 10 Jade Dragon (optimal),
- would work out VERY well. Both for a higher chance to get
- Extra Elevating shoes, but also for farming a ton of Bumper
- or Bumper Buster Balls. They offer 1.5 or 2x EXP over the
- course of 30 minutes each. That dramatically speeds up
- leveling.
- Getting to 20 with the shoes is far faster than any other
- method, is my recommended option for Methods 2 and 3 below
- and is the fastest in general through to 25.
- It might be possible to handle the Woebergine boss at 18,
- then the Florajay haven map boss at 19. Do realize that
- this assumes level 4 Haven has finally been unlocked due to
- perhaps enough trades from a friend, or maybe sporadic DLC
- server access.
- Do realize that at Burnmont, if there is no or limited
- access to Haven leveling, so it's been slow...then the
- weapon options will be that found in Emberdale. Meaning
- not very good, so it's not likely to beat even the super
- slime boss from Phlegmrique's map.
- If a friend is available to trade with, or a second system,
- then I HIGHLY recommend an all Scarewolf map. If no DLC
- monsters are available, then make progressive maps for
- mobs from the next section of the game, progressively
- leveling very slow. It will be easier once enough maps are
- obtained to unlock Haven level 4, and thus a pair of Extra
- Elevating Shoes can be obtained. That will cut down on
- leveling time.
- Leveling 20 to 30 -> Faraday and Automatons are still workable and the safest
- exp/hour. Plus going further into the main game would
- be difficult.
- Do note that getting to 25 with Extra Elevating Shoes is
- well worth the effort, as it's the fastest general
- method, and the added EXP per step between battles with
- specific maps and in farming, really helps getting to
- 30. So it's worth the patience if it might take awhile
- getting the town to max level via street pass.
- If at all possible to trade, a map with Scarewells in
- the first position is the best option from 25 to 30.
- Slime Stacks are another good option, as are Hunter
- Mechs.
- Note that this will be a bit of a pain.
- If by this point enough maps can be traded to get to
- town level 4, then the Extra Elevating Shoes are the
- best option for EXP gains.
- If possible, Scarewells are just boss...Urnexpected
- aren't too shabby either (slower). This is mostly true
- from 25 to 30 (and a bit beyond 30).
- Mad Moles, if available, should be used for levels +
- seeds.
- Leveling 30 to 50 -> Scarewell, Slime Stacks, and/or Hunter Mechs. Extra
- Elevating Shoes for the win...though it will be VERY
- slow, and is much easier if "L" "A" and the "Left"
- button on the D-Pad can be held down. Just check every
- 30~45 minutes, and unseat them to enter town, then save
- to avoid a system crash. It's slow, but eventually 50
- will be reached.
- Or hold them down, set the AI to "Show No Mercy," and
- watch something. Holding the left direction will avoid
- choosing anything but the attack option.
- It might be possible to actually beat the Scarewell as a
- boss at level 40, but don't count on it. Collecting any
- Tombola Tickets in a Scarewell map (or any map where it
- is available from the random item rewards in chests,
- pots, and barrels, will help tremendously. They can be
- used to win Bumper or Bumper Bonus Balls for 1.5 or 2x
- EXP.
- At around 35, a map containing in slots 2 or 3, the
- Metal Slime Knight, would be ideal, but it's risky as
- they can deal 90~110 damage with their critical attack.
- They should only be considered if the Haven is at level
- 4 and the casino wins listed above are earned.
- LEVELING METHOD 2 (My original methodologies using the DLC maps and prior to
- purchasing my second 3DS system)
- Leveling to 20 -> OPTION 1:
- + Gust Slash Equip the Extra Elevating Shoes, enter Emberdale, and run
- around in a circle outside of town. Use two hardcover
- books to lock in the "R" trigger, and something to hold
- down the "D-Pad" in the left position. Make sure to put an
- AI function on, the best being "Show No Mercy." Check back
- every 5~10 minutes, as this setup will not auto-battle, and
- press "A" to move the battle forward to its conclusion.
- Save every 30~45 minutes to keep the game from crashing.
- This last option is the best if you want to start this
- immediately after Regenstien.
- OPTION 2:
- To avoid crashes, and to do this with some measure of
- control, just run around the city of Emberdale. Running
- around Emberdale, with no battles nets 2226~2256 EXP per 5
- minutes. Equivalent battle EXP, when battles are generally
- between 15s and 1m, is 8 battles over that time on average,
- and thus 278~282 EXP per battle.
- Another method is to use the wide areas either just North
- of town or near the warp, and hold the "Left" button on the
- d-pad, set the AI to Show No Mercy or Fight Wisely, and
- press "A" on occasion. Helps to hold either "L" or "R."
- The left direction will avoid choosing anything but attack.
- Then sit down to binge watch something, or watch a movie or
- two.
- EXP gain is between 98 and 112 per lap around Emberdale, at
- 2~3 steps away from the city for each lap. So roughly 100
- EXP per lap.
- Enemies around Emberdale will start fleeing from Kiefer at
- level 15.
- Leveling 20 to 25 -> Preparation:
- Farming Tombola Tickets from higher level maps found on
- the 24H share. Be careful of getting into battles.
- Most level 5+ maps will have Tombola Tickets.
- Quicksave after 5~10, and use them to gain 1~3 of the
- red and silver prizes in Tombola for 1.5~2x EXP over 30
- minutes. This will help leveling a lot from this point
- forward. It's worth the time investment. I'm unaware
- of any DLC tablets that offer this reward. If I find
- one that's manageable, I will list it.
- OPTION 1:
- EXP farming with the shoes is still solid and consistent
- but boring. This is actually my recommended method.
- OPTION 2:
- Feline Forest is a potential option. At 25 this will be
- a definite, and at this point, the Mad Moles can be
- killed. 80 EXP per kill is reasonable, not great, but
- it's reasonably fast at this point. The main reason to
- use this is Strength Seeds for the final push to level
- 50.
- OPTION 3:
- Through sharing Slimetree Forest, it's possible to get
- lucky, and get a Scarewell map. This monster is rough
- but can be killed at this point, and the EXP to HP and
- Attack/Defense ratios is the best in the game at this
- point.
- Leveling 26 to 35 -> OPTION 1:
- Feline Forest is the best for 40+, as you'll require a
- lot of Seeds of Strength to push past that point the
- fast way: Metal Scorpions, which are BRUTAL, and require
- 350 Attack Power at minimum to two-round kill them.
- An exception to this is a lucky find of Return to
- Slimetree Forest, where farming Metal Slimes with ease
- becomes possible. This requires only 266 Attack to
- consistently kill Metal Slimes, only it requires one
- round per kill. This map is reasonably common to see on
- the 24h share, by that I mean maybe one every 100 maps.
- I HIGHLY recommend using Feline Forest to farm a bunch
- of Seeds of Strength. Wait until either 50+ before
- giving any to Kiefer. At level 35, his base Strength
- value is 135. The Warhammer adds 64 Atk, that makes for
- 199. Using save resets per each seed, that's either 23
- seeds to 268, or 51 to 352 Attack.
- Wait until level 35 to dump the seeds. If level is
- below 35, and seed count is below 99 or just over 50,
- then why not continue farming to 99 seeds?
- OPTION 2:
- The Test of Slime. Defend if any Gem Jamboree is in
- battle, but the main purpose of this map is to farm the
- Slime Stacks.
- This is better to use if seed farming went well.
- OPTION 3:
- If through the 24h share network, Return to Slimetree
- Forest is found, and the Seed of Strength requirement is
- met, then just farm this map.
- Another alternative is a Metal Mannequin map with Metal
- Slimes in the 2nd option. This is VERY rare (I've only
- encountered one in 3 years). Or a map with 3x Metal
- Slime. That might allow for Metal Slime spawns to be
- high enough to encounter them.
- Yet another is any map where a Metal Slime is in the
- second position, or second and third position. Assuming
- the other slots are monsters Kiefer can handle well,
- the funny thing with this type of map is the spawn rate
- for Metal Slimes is surprisingly high alongside other
- monsters. They spawn rarely in the open though, but are
- fairly common tagging along other monsters.
- OPTION 4:
- A map with Metal Slime Knights is a decent option, as at
- this point they can be killed, especially after some
- seed farming to boost Strength. This isn't a common
- sight these days. Most people skip over them, and they
- have a critical attack that deals a buttload of damage.
- If this is available, use it to speed things up.
- OPTION 5:
- Cannibox, Slime Stack, or even Hunter Mechs, if lucky on
- the share.
- Leveling 36 to 50 -> OPTION 1:
- Feline Forest to continue Seeds of Strength farming to
- hit 350 Attack Power, if seed farming went poorly.
- Then switch to Barbarous Barbershop, and see if Kiefer
- can handle it. If not, one of two options:
- - keep farming Seeds of Strength until around 550 total
- Attack Power for 1-shot 1-round scorpion kills
- - Scary Lair for Overkilling Machines for a few levels
- until Kiefer can handle the damage output of the
- scorpions.
- OPTION 2:
- If the Seed farming went well, try Barbarous Barbershop.
- If it's too difficult, use Scary Lair's mecha until 40,
- then try the scorpions again.
- OPTION 3:
- If Return to Slimetree is obtained, continue using it to
- 50. Of course assuming seed farming went well, but in
- this case, it's highly probable.
- OPTION 4:
- Metal Slime maps where the spawn rate is reasonably high
- are solid options. It's better if the slime is in the
- second position, but the number of Metal Slime maps
- traded is reasonably high. Less common since 2019, but
- I still find them from time to time.
- LEVELING METHOD 3 (My more refined methodologies using another system and
- possibly a second game copy to create maps)
- Leveling to 20 -> OPTION 1:
- EXP gain is between 98 and 112 per lap around Emberdale, at
- 2~3 steps away from the city for each lap. So roughly 100
- EXP per lap.
- Enemies around Emberdale will start fleeing from Kiefer at
- level 15.
- OPTION 3:
- An all Scarewolf map is the best EXP to HP to Attack and
- Defense ratio. 78 EXP, and they will always be one-shot
- killed, do 0 or 1 damage, even at level 12 with the casino
- wins. They also lack any devastating attacks, debuffs, or
- status effects.
- Leveling 20 to 25 -> After a bit of consideration, and while boring, the
- fastest method is running around Emberdale. Then
- switching to enemies and seed farming. Enemies spawn
- 4 steps outside of town, so it's a safe zone that avoids
- any conflict, allowing for easy leveling. As a reminder
- equip the Extra Elevating Shoes.
- Leveling 20 to 30 -> Preparation:
- or 25 to 30 Farming Tombola Tickets from higher level maps found on
- the 24H share.
- A great potential trade if you get lucky with the 24h
- share, or if you have multiple systems is a Level 10~14
- Jade Dragon map (as the boss) for some Wrecking Balls as
- well as Tombola Tickets. They're easier to dodge, and
- they can spawn the starting map of the Rainbow Mines with
- the house as a potential starting point (about 33% of the
- time when loading it up at the plinth, walk out if the
- cave map spawns). Avoid the enemies heading East and
- enter the cabin, then loot and exit. If the opening map
- is different, exit and re-enter. Wrecking Balls
- function as a 1-time Kaboom. Quite useful at this
- stage.
- OPTION 1:
- EXP farming with the shoes is still solid and consistent
- but boring, especially through 25, but slow down leading
- to 30. They're on par with enemy kills at this point,
- but the least enjoyable method.
- OPTION 2:
- Mad Mole hunting can begin, but it's a cautious endeavor
- at 20. 25 is much easier when starting out.
- A Mad Mole + Scarewolf map isn't a bad idea given how
- easy Scarewolves are, and how much EXP they give for an
- easy kill, if you can make/trade yourself or get lucky.
- OPTION 3:
- This is doable at level 20, but much easier at 23~25.
- Make a Mad Mole + Scarewell + Scarewolf map. It's
- easier to handle at 20 if Scarewolf is the leader, but
- post 23 it's better to have Mad Moles in that position.
- Post 25, the optimal set for levels + seeds is 1 or 2x
- Mad Mole + Scarewell. Just make sure Mad Mole is in the
- leadership position. Though Mad Mole (1st) + Scarewell
- (2nd) + Scarewolf (3rd) works well enough.
- MAIN GOAL: 50~99 strength seeds. Wait until 35 to dump
- them, as it's likely this goal won't be
- reached until after level 30.
- Though this is just the start, and your seed
- farming for the first 99 will likely continue
- well into level 40, thus keep reading:
- Levels 31 to 35 -> Again it's a good idea to farm some Tombola Tickets, either
- through the conq wizard in front of the plinth depening on
- how many new enemies you've encountered through the plinth
- system in the Haven (even if you've encountered them in the
- normal game they have to be encountered on a map specific
- to the Haven plinth to count). Or if you have a map with a
- solid Tombola Ticket drop rate from barrels/pots/chests etc
- Then use them at the Tombola game (save scumming
- recommended), to get red balls (if you get silver, save
- them for using later post-Kiefer). They give the
- Bonus Ball for 1.5* EXP/Gold for 30 minutes.
- Mad Mole + Scarewell + Slimestack/Hunter Mech is a good
- mixture to speed up leveling. Once the 50~99 (desired
- number of seeds) has been reached, if Kiefer's level is
- close to 35, feel free to dump them on him. Make sure to
- abuse the church to assure each one grants +3.
- 265~270 is sufficient Attack Power.
- One option is to keep farming to 530 Attack Power. I do
- not recommend this route, it's too time consuming, and it
- is more efficient to obtain and farm levels from 50 to 99
- using a critical or miss weapon.
- Finishing to 50 -> Return to Slimetree Forest is a godsend. Use that, or
- make a Metal Mannequin + 2x Metal Slime map, and only farm
- the Metal Slimes (Mannequins can't be killed until over
- 530 Attack Power).
- If Attack Power is 530, a good option is a Metal Mannequin
- and Metal King Slime x2 | Metal King Slime + Liquid Metal
- Slime map. This can be used to continue past 50 to 99,
- especially with a Bumper Bonus Ball (one should be enough
- to go all the way to 99, especially if slots 2 and 3 are
- both Metal King Slime...maybe a little after that). Due
- note it may be faster to first farm a Hela's Hefty Hammer
- and then use a Metal Mannequin + Platinum King Jewel map
- to get from 50 to 99 (the only negative being how long it
- takes to farm a Hela's Hefty Hammer).
- I will recommend NOT going all the way to 530 Attack, and
- settling for now on 265~270. It's MUCH faster this way.
- Especially as Kiefer continues to grow Strength naturally
- beyond 270, all the way to 400. In allow this natural
- growth post 50, it reduces Seed of Strength farming to
- cap. We're talking a potential 30~100 hour range of
- difference depending on luck with seed farming and save
- resets.
- Another reason for waiting is Metal Slime's do not require
- anymore than 265~270, and the Haven map
- Return to Slimetree Forest is one of the best maps to use.
- =========================================================================
- OLD General bits of leveling advice from 30 to 40, prior to the finalized above
- method lists, I'm keeping this here as I kind of like the way I wrote it:
- =========================================================================
- Levels 30 to 40 -> Scarewell, scarewell, scarewell. If you happen to have Mad
- Moles, make sure to farm those puppies until 99 Seeds of
- Strength. If not, and the 24-hour service graced you with at
- least a Cannibox map (Cannibox as the main), then keep that
- for a bit of farming.
- If a shared "Return to Slimetree Forest" map has been
- obtained, use that if Attack is over 256.
- Mad Moles, if available, is still a VERY smart option,
- especially for the seeds, especially if a leveling map has
- been obtained.
- Rethinking this later on, Mad Moles are fine, especially if
- you have enough room for more Seeds of Strength, and are
- already at 265~270 Strength. Then get to 99 Seeds, and then
- move on.
- Levels 40 to 50 ->
- - IF Strength Seed Farming has been possible and fruitful, dump them to Base +
- next level +11 (save scum to assure 3 points each): Metal Slime Knights,
- Metal Slimes, and Scarewells are fantastic fights.
- The Haven map "Return to Slimetree Forest" is IDEAL if found over the 24 or
- traded via street pass. Assuming of course 256+ Strength.
- Mad Moles is still a smart option, just for the extra seeds and quickness of
- killing, but ONLY if one of two things are available already: Return to
- Slimetree Forest, or any LMS, Metal Mannequin, or MKS map/s that are very
- low in level. This is to get attack power in range of these monsters. 256
- for Metal Slimes, 520 as the minimum for LMS, 540 as the minimum for MKS and
- Mannequins.
- - If no Strength Seed farming is possible...or has been fruitless: Scarewells
- to 50. Just suck it up and grind. Don't even try to beat the boss of a level
- 1 Scarewell map unless you're around 45 (it's possible at 42, but this is
- only with extreme luck, assuming it almost never attacks normally and never
- manages success with War Cry).
- - If no Scarewells are possible/found...be creative, try to figure out which
- downloaded maps have the best exp per hour you can handle. If nothing,
- another trick is to just abuse the heck out of the Extra Elevating Shoes,
- though this is VERY tedious and slow post-40. It's best just to use them in
- conjunction with maps that give decent exp per kill rates that are easily
- dispatched.
- !!!NOTE!!! - This is very easy if you've the ability to trade maps with
- yourself.
- ------------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a4] LEVELING FROM 50~99 )))>
- ==============================
- The sky's the limit, as long as the enemies are mostly physical. Metal Slimes
- are pretty easy at this point, due to attack power, so long as the map level
- is 1...maybe 3 at this point. Around levels 5~10, you'll want around 300+
- attack power at the minimum (probably closer to 320+). Though seriously, this
- is solo Kiefer, not farm everything, and until level 99, and fantastic gear,
- you'll want to avoid making things difficult.
- Some map bosses might be better to abuse (NOT Metal Slime, sadly, as that boss
- has a lot of defense at level 1...higher than 700 at least, and the exp gain is
- paltry...less overall exp than most other bosses that take much less time to
- dispatch). In this case...for awhile, Scarewell level 1, as a tablet boss is
- pretty decent with about 2600 exp per kill, and in about 12 rounds, maybe 16
- at the most, unless you're unlucky with War Cry.
- Best DLC monsters for EXP if the DLC map "Cloud Control" is NOT available and
- there is no available Metal Mannequin + Metal Mob player made map found or that
- can be traded to your Super Kiefer save (and without any spells/breath):
- 1) Metal Scorpion (Barbarous Barbershop)
- 2) Silver Scrapper [ONLY post 600 Attack] (A Voice From On High)
- 3) Killing Machine (True Steel)
- 4) Overkilling Machine (Scary Lair , A Voice From On High)
- Best DLC map IF "Cloud Control" is available, but there is no Metal Mannequin +
- Metal Mob map available, or any way to obtain it:
- 1) Metal Mannequins in "Treasure Hunt" (just make sure the Eye of Rubiss is
- always equipped for the Diamond Mannequins)
- - Note that this is much faster than the above list options, much safer, and
- due to all DLC staying around, and due to "Cloud Control" being available
- for some time now, this is by far the fastest method if there is no
- available Metal Mannequin + Metal Mob map.
- Other decent monsters (normal game, and there are others, this is based on what
- I've experienced with map trades on the 24-hour service):
- Gem Slime, Frighturn, Ersatz Estark, Slemperor, Heavy Metal,
- Warlord Weighvern, Div, Bone Baron, Metal Slime Knight,
- Metal Slime (especially if you get the Return to Slimetree Forest map, as
- this is...again, THE BEST LEVELING MAP in the normal game by an
- insanely high margin, and for Kiefer, this is pent-ultimate if
- you happen to have the Massacre Sword, but do realize this is
- not possible outside the bounds),
- LMS/MKS/Metal Mannequins/Metal Medley's? <- ONLY under one of two
- conditions,
- 1) Attack power 520 minimum,
- 2) Hela's Hefty Hammer or
- Hela's Hammer
- Useful equipment to farm:
- Hela Hammer (Whalevern from DLC)
- Hela's Hefty Hammer (Tablet Bosses: Master Moosifer [hard], Ceramic Sergeant
- [easier], Gigantes [easiest], Lieutenant Kernel
- [hardest])
- Max Power Shield (Tablet Bosses: Testudogre)
- -----------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a5] DLC TABLETS PRE-50 )))>

- 2) Sticky Business [Level 18 w/Iron Axe, 20 w/Iron Lance, 12 w/War Hammer]
- (Slime Stick... if for some reason an Iron Axe hasn't been found, or the
- Haven isn't fully unlocked)
- 3) Ghost Busting [Level 20 w/Iron Axe] (Super Pretty Betsy...yeah, this is just
- to do it because you can)
- 4) Snag a Speedy Sword [Level 22 w/Iron Axe] (Falcon Blade...can't equip
- though)
- 5) A Poisonous Party [Level 30+] (Tin Pot...no real value)
- 6) Feral Forest [Level 30+] (Super Seed of Strength...useful!)
- 7) Tough Nuts [Level 33+] (Frying Pan...if the Haven isn't complete yet)
- 8) Tough Guy's Trial [Level 35+] (Soldier's Medal...can't equip though)
- 9) Palace of the Perished [Level 40+] (Sphere of Silence)
- 10) The Usual Suspects [Level 45+ and iffy] (Lifesaving Medal...can't equip
- though)
- 11) Barbarous Barbershop [Level 48+] (Windcheater...put this on immediately)
- 12.1) Feline Forest [Level 48+] (Prime Cuts...yeah this is just to do it
- because you can)
- 12.2) Fantastic Feast [Level 48+] (Super Seed of Strength...actually
- beneficial)
- -------------------------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a6] DLC TABLETS IMMEDIATELY AFTER 50 )))>
- ===========================================
- No particular order, as it's difficult to gauge difficulty.
- - Purrrfect Day (Shepherd's Crook...omg yes, get this asap if the map is
- available, now you can actually recruit without taking up
- precious space with meat products).
- - Daredevil's Distraction (Joker's Soaker...shame Kiefer can't equip it)
- - A Voice From On High (Staff of Rain...extremely useful, as now you've an AoE
- ability!)
- - Mount Oddna (Rainbow Drop...keep it...EXTREMELY useful if anything casts
- Sap/Kasap or uses Helm Splitter, until the Sap effect wears
- off...I would say to waste MP, but for now that's a bad idea
- given how much tablet bosses have)
- - To the Victor the Spoils! (Champion's Belt...so useful to have HP/step
- regen, saves a bit of time, and at this point the
- Extra Elevating Shoes aren't doing much)
- - Leap of Faith (Lucky Pendant...probably the most useful accessory at this
- point, don't try to recruit the boss yet, just get the
- Pendant, then try afterwards with the Rainbow Drop and
- Lucky Pendant in tow) - Very hard, maybe wait for 99.
- - Den of the Wintry Wyrm (Night Light...absolutely necessary to have on hand
- for certain battles, as this is one way to avoid
- Thwack/Kathwack, or self-powering enemies who like
- to use Oomph...and it doesn't block them from using
- it if their AI level is 2 [smart], by which they'd
- waste turns, which would happen with the
- Sphere of Silence, nevermind not having to worry
- whether an enemy has Fizzle resistance) - Hard
- - Day of the Undead (Walking Corpse Heart...useless but why not do it to do
- it)
- - Piles of Presents (Premium Pot Lid...at least the boss is much easier)
- - Mount Malign (Mask of Implacability)
- - Muscle Mountain (Mink Mantle)
- - Empire of the Imp (Lightning Staff...I would say this is great, but only if
- A Voice from On High isn't available, and you need an AoE
- attack)
- - Gruesome Garrison (Delusionist Heart...because why not?)
- - Lizard's Lair (Super Seed of Resilience...useful)
- - Puppeteer's Palace (Kerplunk Bracer)
- - Cloud Control (Eye of Rubiss...I so wish this was doable pre-50, but it's
- not, the damage output is just too much to handle. This is
- THE most useful accessory after the Lucky Pendant, so keep
- both depending on the map and boss...and this is also very
- useful if Night Light isn't available, or if a boss happens
- to have Death Dance, or enemies on the way in do, or you just
- feel like running from monsters with death abilities)
- - The Wild Woods (Special Summon Card...um...yes, yes, and yes!) - requires
- the Shimmering Shield to complete
- - Demon's Den (Super Seed of Magic...useless to Kiefer)
- - The Test of Slime (Slime Crown...equip it, as for awhile it will be his best
- headgear, unless some luck occurs with hunting
- Mythril Helms)
- - Here Be Dragons (Shimmering Shield...equip asap...this shield is a lifesaver
- for now, as Kiefer's reduction gear is virtually
- non-existent) - Easier with the Slime Crown
- - Harvest Festival (Super Seed of Wisdom...useful depend on how you look at
- things and if you believe, as I do, that Wisdom affects AI
- patterns...this map wasn't doable before due to Ubergine's
- Healall, and not being able to outlast it due to its
- damage)
- -----------------------------------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a7] DLC TABLETS THAT REQUIRE THE EYE OF RUBISS )))>
- =====================================================
- - Tower of Trickery (Sunstone...more attack options = good)
- - Spooky Ruins (Massacre Sword...potentially useful for leveling against

- - Blackened Backwoods (Gripevine Heart)
- - Kooky Keep (Sun Crown) = Only if Darkonium goes for a Big Banga spam
- - Treasure Hunt (Staff of Resurrection) = Only if Robbin Hood goes on a
- critical spam
- ---------------------------------------------------
- <((( [spec.3a11] POST MAX POWER SHIELD AND EYE OF RUBISS )))>
- ===================================================
- Everything and anything is now possible, even before level 99. There is only
- one exception:
- - A Hero's Welcome is the second hardest map, and requires the Rainbow Drop
- on top of the rest, and at least 700 HP. If there are any troubles, then
- just use the same tactic as with the Infernal Kernels and just waste away
- Kernel Colonel's MP pool until Blade of Ultimate Power cannot be used.
- - Tower of Terrible Trials offers THE hardest DLC boss for Kiefer. Iron Duke
- has a 33.3% chance to use Sword Dance, a 33.3% chance to use Helm Splitter,
- and has Oomph. He can also go twice per round, seemingly about 66.6% of
- the time, but it may be 50% and my poor luck is to experience double rounds
- roughly 2/3rds of the time.
- This boss actually REQUIRES the Rainbow Drop, due to one Helm Splitter
- followed by a double round of Sword Dance, where even without Oomph, 5~8
- hits is very likely to kill off a full HP Kiefer. He has 156~157 MP, so
- do not use the Night Light, and use the Drop until he uses up his MP. Each
- Sword dance is 2 MP, each Oomph is 6 MP.
- After Iron Duke's MP is drained to 0 or 1, do not allow HP to dip below 500
- and if even one Helm Splitter lands, use the Rainbow Drop for 9 rounds to
- be sure Defense is down to nothing. Do not use the Summon Card until after
- his MP is down to nothing. Special Summon Card is utterly useless in this
- battle.

- <((( [spec.3a14] TIPS ON TAMING )))>
- ==========================
- Best item for Taming: Shepherd's Crook, requires 5x uses (5 rounds)
- If no Shepherd's Crook:
- 1) Prime Cuts for difficult enemies to tame (runners/suiciders), requires 3x
- uses (3 rounds)
- 2) Meaty Treat for everything else, requires 5x (5 rounds)
- Tips for Pre-50:
- 1) If Shepherd's Crook is available, and no healing stalves or either
- version of the Power Shield, then avoid this option for truly powerful
- monsters capable of dealing more than 50 damage per round, especially if
- they spawn in groups.
- 2) Prime Cuts is always the best option, but are hard to come by, so until
- the Shepherd's Crook, stick with Meaty Treat, and always carry 5 on hand.
- 3) Avoid enemies that summon or suicide.
- Monsters that RUN:
- - Snooze Stick is almost a must in these cases. The only exceptions are
- Metal Medley and Gem Jamboree.
- - If no Snooze Stick?
- 1) Prime Cuts are twice as effective as
- Monsters that SPAWN/CALL more of themselves or other monsters:
- General Strategy for monsters that call themselves:
- 1) Kill all other monster types, and all other groups. Attempt to force
- only one group of said monster that spawns more of itself.
- 2) Allow the monsters to fill up the screen until they can summon no more.
- 3) Make sure ALL the monsters present have not been hit even once.
- 4) Use taming item/s the required number of times to assure a tame.
- 5) Use method to attack all monsters at the same time, slowly weeding them
- down, and hopefully they all die at the same time.
- - If only one or two are left, pray they can be taken out before they
- summon more of themselves, or this will have to be started all over
- again.
- General Strategy for monsters that call other monsters:
- 1) Kill all other monster types, and all other groups. Attempt to force
- only one group of said monster that spawns more of itself.
- 2) Anytime the desired monster summons a "friend", kill the friend.
- 3) Use taming item/s in between killing summoned monsters.
- 4) Assure only ONE of desired monster is on screen, with the full tame
- count used to assure it's tamed.
- 5) Use the skill [Focus Strength], and on the next round, if ONLY that same
- desired monster is left, kill it.
- - If it summons a friend, kill the friend first.
- - Hope it doesn't summon a friend before you kill it, or this starts all
- over again in another battle.
- - Best if two options are available:
- 1) Rainbow Drop (especially if they're casters, as several are) and/or
- Max Power Shield (allows surviving each round)
- 2) Something that deals damage to ALL (Magma Staff, Staff of Rain,
- Sunderbolt Blade, Fire Blade, Wrecking Ball)
- - Group is acceptable if there is only one group (Lightning Staff,
- Icicle Dirk)
- - Avoid the Sunderball due to damage range being high and therefor an
- increased chance to leave some alive.
- 3) In the case of Sconstrosity (S099) and Lover Lamp (S009), the Eye of
- Rubiss should be equipped.
- - With Lover Lamps, if neither Bag o' Sweets or Yule Log is present, the
- Eye of Rubiss can be switched out for another accessory (evasion type
- preferred).
- - Avoid the Summon and Special Summon Cards, as summons are unpredictable and
- will deal randomly targetting damage that will offset the ability to assure
- a tame.
- Monsters that SUICIDE:
- - Only attempt by Saving first, and hunting only said suiciding monster.
- - Make sure to only attempt this in a battle where only said monster is the
- only available monster, and even better if there are multiples (3+ is near
- perfect). Otherwise, just attempt to kill said suiciding monster last
- without using taming items, and hopefully they'll be tamed normally without
- having to play the Russian Roulette of hoping to tame one before they kill
- themselves.
- - Prime Cuts x2 and one Meaty Treat or Shepherd's Crook use.
- - Pray, or enforce your will upon the game the enemy doesn't suicide before it
- can be tamed.

- <((( [spec.3a17] MAPS TO KEEP )))>
- ========================
- 1) Treasure Hunt - Robbin Hood is unique and cannot be tamed
- - both Metal and Gold Mannequins are difficult to tame due to
- their propensity to run away, so it is very likely these two
- will not be tamed. They're also immune to all status
- effects.
- 2) A Poisonous Party - Putric Stinkenheimer is unique, the only other way to
- battle him, and cannot be tamed.
- 3) The Test of Slime - Hammer is unique and cannot be tamed (plus has Ruff's
- best weapon as a normal drop]
- - Gem Jamboree's are rare, have a high propensity to run,
- are immune to all status effects, and typically spawn
- with other monsters, making them VERY difficult to tame.
- 4) Whipping up a Frenzy - Gracolyte is unique and cannot be tamed
- 5) Metal Medley - Metal Medley's are rare, have a high propensity to run, are
- immune to all status effects, and typically spawn with other
- monsters, making them VERY difficult to tame.
