- These past few years have been terrible for Yrelaya. Nothing more than cruel against her aspirations. That's a good thing, isn't it? For a villainous monstrosity to be falling so hastily in the ravines.
- Every defeat reached into her, wringing her burning heart. But, whenever it unwound, in some way she's stronger, both physically and mentally. The lastest conquerer, Zain, posed as the most prominent thing in her mind. While her wounds had healed, scars had imprinted themselves within her, and of course, there is that missing finger, but that didn't matter at all for the infernus.
- This time, as opposed to the wrath she harbored as she carried herself through the Trystle Caves tunnels, dread followed closely behind her, the flames expulsed from the cracks and crevices of her chitin darker than usually as occult energies flowed with it.
- As Yrelaya steps around a corner, her eyes come upon a human, another damn human. It's as though all above her mocked her, yet she felt so driven, her desire to spill blood, to consume flaring up profoundly. She grins, despite the dread the weighed her down, fire leaking from the edges of her gaping maw.
- "Boy."
- (Yrelaya)
- It wasn't too long ago that Nerian finally found his way into the Trystle Caves. To which he already knew his way home. He just had to follow the rocky walls south bound and sooner or later he would end up hitting an exit. If not, he'd probably end up running around the enitre cavern. But other than that, he should be fine. Right?
- If anything were to happen, he'd probably just end up out-running the source of danger. If that plan were to go to fail. Best case scenario. Talk it out? No. . . . That wouldn't work. Well, it did for Nerian that one time. But he'd probably be slapped over his head by his mother. To who he still needed to find. To this day he still curses himself for being to reckless for leaving that uncharted island without her say. Or even telling her. He thought that the ferryman would still be there but nooooo! The guy just up and left!
- News later hit him that each of it's inhabitants had evacuated the area so no one no longer lived on the island except some grey skinned freaks with horns sprouting out of their heads calling for some dreamer. Other than that, the inhabitants were sent back to the country. To which he knew that his mom would either be returning to two places. One would be Wychwood. The other would be New Alteros. But since he really doesn't know his way around swamp ville. He prefered to head back towards Wychwood. To where he currently is now!
- Boy.
- A voice echoed out by somewhere near.
- It was the first time that a creature had ever sneaked up on him. To which he turned to find an ignited Infernus peering over his shoulder. Standing right behind him as he was completely oblivious. Quickly the hairs on the back of his neck stood straight with frieght as he didn't know how to handle the sudden encounter. Nothing before had ever snuck up on him just like this Infernus had right now. Fire escaping from it's maw had seemed to shinge the very tips of his fur with its immeanse heat. He would soon notice that a glob of fire would escape from it's maw and threaten to hit his shoe. To which he took a quick back step to evade such a burn and watch as the glob of fire burn into the ground to turn into rock hard molten fire before residing as there was simply to much earth and not much fire. But still! There was a hole in the ground now! A hole where his foot could've been!
- Now he was sweating as he looked up at it. For two reasons! One was because of the dangerous heating levels spiking off of this creature! Two! He was shit scared out of his mind! What was there to do!
- 'To act dumb?'
- The weird thought had came to him. So out of all, if any options. To act dumb it was. Quickly reaching towards his belt. He retreived a pouch that contained plentyful of water to which he threw it upon the Infernus. As he quickly jumped back for cover.
- Fssshhh! The sound emitted from the water sizzling off of the Infernus as the entire gallon of water did nothing but lessen the flames of the creature by only a bit. To which it would ignite even brighter than before.
- With a shrug, Nerian looked up at the creature and said casually. "Whoops?"
- (Nerian)
- The hollowed, deep voice of the infernus had made their presence prominent, beyond just the radiance of her fiery presence, and the glowing air it produced. The tall, willowy stature is something to behold, naturally formed ashen colored chitin form over all portions of her monstrous form.
- Water splashed against her body, a minuscule amount of it. Actually, it hadn't even touched her before her the flames from the gaps upon her chitin flared, evaporating it almost instantly.
- The prey had already been marked, but this is just silly; foolish, astoundingly so.
- How can one be so brash, so stupid as to taunt her? Then again, the last few humans she had faced had completely crushed her in one on one combat. She couldn't read this boy, is he taunting her, only to give her the same treatment as the last few- another human who could plow her over.
- But then, such disgrace, being taunted like, so she couldn't tell herself to run, to avoid the risk of danger. The bloodthirst she felt could never be quelled, not by a thousand defeats, not by torn limbs, scarring, branding, being belittled, all and everything in that area.
- Yrelaya's left-hand raises, fire manifesting at her fingers tips by her will. It swivels and grows, manifesting into a sphere of brilliantly hot fire. Her intent is perhaps obvious; something that she does not use words to explain, but rather action.
- (Yrelaya)
- ' Ooh nooo. . . I done goofed. . . !
- It seemed as if he had indeed pissed off the Infernus. But that wouldn't stop him as he stood his ground as the man he is! Minus the part that he was partically shaking in place and his fur stood straight! He was being a man! Not backing down, not even a single inch. Except for the fact that today is the day that he might end up with a sick looking scar. Other than that, what else could happen. I mean, it's just fire! Right?
- But then again, Nerian started to reconsider that thought as he stared at the molten'd hole that was formed infront of him. Causing him to gulp as he dared himself to look back over towards the Infernus who seemed to be more focused on him than ever. It was as if the Infernus was at a five-star hotel resturant and ordered a five course meal, which was soon to arrive with the room blooming with the scent of the juicy and rich meat that was soon on it's way towards the feast. Only thing for now was that he was the course and the Infernus was the one who was going to do the dinning!
- He only knew this because he has the same look in his eyes when he gets served really good meat when hes starving.
- Nerian would start begin to think of ways to avoid any type of fighting with this Infernus. Only until an idea had struck him. His mother had a 'father' like figure when she was little and weak. So why not try to persuade this Infernus to be his 'father' like figure. He had no clue if it was actually a male or female. But at the same time, he thought that the bunch were just an ordinary non-sexual creature. So his aim was heading for male!
- Fwoosh!
- Fire seemed to ignite at the air as the Infernus raised it's finger tips. Causing the Carbon Dioxide within the Oxygen containments in the atmosphere of the cave combust to put on a light show! Which couldn't help him but cause him to stare in awe as his eyes went all googly! But that was only when he noticed that her intent was quite obvious as she didn't want to talk things out. Perhaps instead to spell them out in the air!
- Which did confuse him as he did know that Infernus's knew how to speak. Did they not? He knew that they could communicate through telepath in their Giga form. Which made him start to wonder if the Infernus was or was not a higher rank than the Giga. Which begged him to ask the question.
- "Uuhhh. . . I was wondering. . . if you could talk or not?"
- (Nerian)
- There is only one thing that kept Yrelaya from attacking right here and now through all the kid's speaking, and that was fear. She shouldn't fear a boy like this, but she does! The experiences she has had makes her second guess herself repeatedly, and on top of that, this boy doesn't seem very hostile. She is ready to give in, perhaps the inevitable occurrence of a fight is wrong in her mind. Perhaps most of all encounter with this species doesn't have to be a life or death battle. These thoughts flood into her mind, her voice nearly coming out in friendly terms, before another part of her spoke.
- That's right, Yrelaya has been tricked. She had let her guard down, and then she was crushed. Everything was swept away, every bit of reluctance she had. Despite the reoccurring defeats she has faced, her decision was locked in. The world Yrelaya saw is killed or be killed, despite the fortune, she's faced so far.
- The fireball in her grasp flares, the infernus triggered by the emotions burning through her. Her left arm whirls through the air, casting out the inferno in her grasp toward Nerian, a sizable combustion of fire resulting in impact whether it hit him or not.
- "Do not toy with me! You will die here!" Yrelaya roars, hung up in her own world.
- (Yrelaya)
- It seemed to Nerian that the more he tried to talk to the Infernus, the deeper the hole that he was digging for himself.
- Everything had seemed to happen so fast, one second there were fireworks in the sky, the next. The Infernus had swiped at the air, causing for a torment of a heat wave to attack him.
- Gasping as he jumped backwards in freight. It seemed that it was no longer the chance to play a kid anymore but return to acting like an adult. If Hanzo saw him now, he'd surely get the beating of a lifetime. Well, that is if his mother wasn't around, and if she was. It would be up to her say if anyone got an arse whooping, and if there was going too be a booty whooping. It would be by her hand, and no else's!
- Nerian's attitude soon changed as his experssion transfixed as he jumped back to dodge the vortex of fire. He her the torment of the fire, blazing towards the air as it spun around fiercely. Threatening to burn anything that dared to touch or come in contact with it. Only then, would he be shocked back into life and realise his purpose for this action. What he needed to do. What he had to do. It all made sense now.
- Taking the calmest breath that he ever could. It seemed as if he began it. He did it once more. Time seemed to slow down. Or rather not time. But time and space itself. But no, it wasn't that. It was as if the Infernus's attack slowed down. But as Nerian regained his gripping on the ground. He noticed that the fireball that was whizzing towards him was moving much slower than before. Which caused him to notice something.
- Did he have the ultimate power to stop time and space itself!?! That would be awesome! He had begun to think. But instead. No. . . It wasn''t. He was manipulating something again. It happened before with the recent fights and all he knew that he had to do was take in a deep breath to calm his state of mind and focus mainly on himself.
- But there was something else that he learned about this aswell. It was maniupulating something. Manipulating something around him. Akred or Aknerd was the name. He told Nerian that one day when he whizzed by like a blur to stop a yokai from harmlessly trying to communicate with him. . . in a fighting way it was but still!
- It was the same thing like that day. After a few more seconds, Nerian noticed that the vortex of flames was getting closer towards him. Even the actions of the Infernus slowed down. So it had to be time! But then again, he remembered that time was a serious type of magic that only certain types of magi's knew how to control. All he could really do was blow around wind now. Which wasn't much in all honesty. So it couldn't be that he was manipulating time magic itself. No, it had to be something else. Maybe. . . . . maybe. . . Mana?
- Now it was all coming back to him. The day that he was playing around with a lesser. The being tried to swipe at him and hurt him. But each time it came at him. Nerian saw it's movements in slow motion, and that time he barely had the whole magic concept down in the first place. Which meant that this was just like that time way back when. So what was it. What exactly was it.
- At this moment in time as Nerian kept on processing what he was actually doing. In the physical plane. He already manvuered himself around the flaming ball of death and ended up behind the Infernus with his blade in hand as he pointed it towards it's back.
- There it was again. That feeling, that thrilling sensation. That feeling of amazement. Of success.
- Then it hit him. That Akerd or Aknerd kid had told him way back when that he used the manipulation of mana in his legs to boost his speed. Causing him to move faster than ever. Even faster than Nerian's eyes could read as he had just saw a blur zoom by. So maybe. Perhaps he did that? Maybe way back when he was capable. Even to this day? Is that possible? Well, at the time it did seem like it because he was doing it. So maybe that was his conclusion to this amazing speed. But at the same time, would that be enough? Just to boost his just to focus his legs? No, at the same time he was manipulating his mana towards his eyes. To increase his sight. His Ookami sight also added to that so with a mix of mana manipulation would explain the reason for him seeing things in slow-mo. Making it seem as if they were moving in slow motion. But in reality. He was just moving to fast.
- Glee ran through Nerian as he now stood, feet firmly on the ground behind the Infernus with blade in hand.
- "Okay. . . so you can talk . . ." he exclaimed half breathly.
- He started to pant. Which confused him. Why was he so tired. So exhausted. Maybe the lack of freshness in air due to being in a cave? Or perhaps because he pushed his manipulation of mana to such an extent to dodge such a point blank attack? Well the second thought made more sense to him.
- As his breathing labored he said half heartedly as he tried to get his barings together from the sudden burst.
- "How. . . . how. . . *wheez* how about. . . we look out for each. . . *pant* other. . . instead of kill- *wheez* illing each other. . . My mom had a father figure of a Kaor. . . . maybe you can be mine. . . . . ?"
- (Nerian)
- The roaring hot sphere of fire crashed into the ground, the brilliantly burning flames expanding widely through the air. Yrelaya hadn't seen the boy move, certainly he was dead- unfortunately, incinerated by a single attack. Is that why he had tried to reason with her? His lack of magical abilities, his inability to fight against a force such as her? It is all over now, a prey lost to Yrelaya's fire.
- It was all of that, until she heard the boy's voice behind herself. He had survived, but how. How is he behind her right now? Eluding her attack is plausible, but he had eluded her eyesight entirely.
- That didn't matter. She couldn't let her prey puzzle her, if she stalled, he might gain the upper-hand on her. For that, she whirls about, her claws en route to cleave through his chest. Despite this reasoning in her mind, she stops as the boy speaks. Finally, something in her reasons, perhaps, beyond all of her experience, this boy is genuine,
- "-and what is in it for me?" Yrelaya questions drily, her claws held up, a furious, glowing gaze held onto the boy.
- (Yrelaya)
- The fire that rolled of the Infernus's finger tips blazed about, igniting the cavern floor with brilliant flames before dying down to a bedazzlin stop. It seemed as if the Infernus had thoguht that it had turned him to ash as it seemed to die down. But instead. The creatures flames grew brighter as it recognized his voice and turned around on him cleaving his chest. Drawing blood.
- In the split second that it had happened. Nerian tried to attempt to do the same thing that he had done before. Only that it would seem that he was incapable of doing so. His body was mainly drained and too exhausted to use such a method to avoid such a fast incoming attack.
- Nerian was obvivously flung back to crash towards the ground to end up in a roll to finally end up into a stand as he almost came close towards crashing into a wall. Which he was relieved that he didn't. Instead, he ended up standing with his blade in one hand and his other hand gripping at the claw mark that tore at his flesh across his chest.
- The Infernus had got him good. The claw mark would probably scar if he didn't tend to it right away. But he knew no healing magic to tend to any wounds. Cursing himself, he saw that there was no way to reason with this Infernus and that the two of them must fight till one or both of them fell.
- "-and what is in it for me?"
- The words broke through his thoughts as Nerian figured out that he had just about enough mana within his body to push himself a step back. Only to realise that it wasn't enough for the extended claws of the Infernus. So he dreamt of what the next set of events were about to unfold as he wanted to prepare for the rest. But instead, the unexpected happened as in reality.
- The Infernus was questioning him instead of striking him. To which a dumb founded expression appeared on his face as he faced the Infernus with a new found expression that never greeted or appeared on his face before. A twisty mix between shock and confusement.
- "Uuh. . . That we watch over each other to increase our chances of survival . . .?" he spoke to reply to her question.
- He wasn't expecting this to happen so he tried his best to say what he meant
- (Nerian)
- Help from a boy like this, with something like survival? Yrelaya thought it to be nothing less than silly, for, in her eyes, this boy has proven himself pathetic. He worries about him playing as a dominating force had been stripped away entirely- he may have dodged her attack, but it almost seemed that is all he could do.
- "A pathetic human like you, how could you do that for me? Help me survive? You're nothing to me." Yrelaya spitefully responds, lowering her claws. The fire pouring from her body still burned just as brightly, her hostile presence still prominent.
- "You are doing a magnificent job wasting my time."
- (Yrelaya)
- A shrug would appear off of Nerian's shoulders as he looked at the Infernus as it lowered its burning hot claws towards his face. Pouring the heat from her body towards his face. Causing the heat to burn at his skin, making him even feel his skin peeling away bit by bit.
- " Hey. Your the one who couldn't see me move behind you." he said in a calming but interesting voice as he looked at the Infernus with a smile.
- "You could be like a big brother! I'll sit on your shoulder as you wreck havoc." he said with glee!
- He began to think of all the things they could do together. What they could achieve. Maybe even then he could find his mother.
- "You have the strength, I got the speed. Plus I can get into places that you can't. So how about it?" he said as he crossed his arms and stood back, awaiting for the Infernus to speak.
- "Names Nerian, what's yours?"
- (Nerian)
- "You shame me, filthy wolf boy. Who do you think I am?"
- What he had spoken, his ideas, they are nothing more than belittling to Yrelaya. The way they are speaking now too, this is absolutely unacceptable. For this, she is about ready to torch him, obvious by the flames billowing out from her maw.
- "You are undeserving of my name, only to be hunted. I'll have nothing to do with you." Yrelaya flares. This has gone on too long.
- "Your choices now are limited. Run or fight and die. For once I've found sanity, but this is fickle."
- (Yrelaya)
- A pout would find his lips as he heard what the Infernus had to say.
- "Come on. . . think about it. . ." he said a bit longingly as he really didn't want to lose this chance with the Infernus
- (Nerian)
- "Is that it?"
- An answer had been given, one that Yrelaya responds to almost immediately in a most explosive fashion. Mana pours out from her maw, manifesting a violent stream of intense flames that threatened to consume Nerian and incinerate him.
- Yrelaya had no desire to reason anymore. She's a hunter, and this is what she should be doing- not speaking with a human, but rather killing and feeding. Being reasonable to people like this isn't what's going to make her grow, but rather dominating them, or so she believed.
- (Yrelaya)
- A frown would be brought ontop Nerian's lips as he acknowledged what Yrelaya was expressing. So he would look at her with longing eyes one more time before closing them and looking downwards towards the ground. The two could make a good team. But then again, not everything was meant to be. So with that.
- He would concentrate hard once more towards hi mana and manipulate it to boost his speed to disappear once more. Powering only his legs this time as that was all he had the energy for this time.
- He would reopen his eyes and run towards the southern most parts of the caves with haste. Disappearing before the Infernus's eyes
- (Nerian)
