Soomin was born in Ansan, Gyeonggi, South Korea. He was always interested in dance and music since he was young. When he was little him and his older brother would dance and sing for their mom and dad. They were both very active and decently good at singing and dancing. When he was four his mom put him into dance classes to improve his skills and it really helped because he actually was really good. When he got older he realized that he wanted to be an idol after listening to SHINee. He was just so amazed by it. Originally he was under KQ entertainment but when he didn’t make the final cut he changed entertainment company and continued to train in order to debut.
