  1. On the contrary, with publishing such highly classified documents, national security might be threatened (BBC News, 2010). Among the documents published by the WikiLeaks are also the Afghan War Diary which include reports of Afghan civilians’ killings that were unreported until the leak. The spokesman of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Col Dave Lapan said that the leaks published might “threaten the United States and coalition personnel” (BBC News, 2010). Nevertheless, even though the intel might not be sensitive, the method used for obtaining this information is delicate (Villarreal, 2017). But most importantly, the authorities did not plan to share their unethical and even illegal practices with the public.
  6. On a positive side (from regular citizens’ point of view” technological companies like Android and Apple will get the opportunity to rebuild the security system and its breaches which their devices are disposed with. As a result, the CIA will no longer be able to use the tools they have made to get into people’s devices (Villarreal, 2017).
