NICKNAMES | Alexei will take kindly to either being called by his full name, Alex, or X. In the presence of his family he's known by Alex unless he gets in trouble, then it's either Alexei or Jiseok - just because he dislikes being called Jiseok. X, on the other hand, is simply a random nickname granted by his friends in affection and he kind of likes it in a nerdy way. It makes him feel cool.

HEIGHT | 5'9, but in the past year he's shot up almost four inches and hasn't stopped growing yet so expect this to change as time goes on.
WEIGHT | He inherited both his parents slim genes, a scrawny 129 pounds, but his relatives and friends all try to stuff him with food as much as possible to make him gain weight.

GENDER THEY IDENTIFY WITH | Though he's had his doubts in the past and even had a time period where he asked everyone to use "they/them" pronouns, Alexei feels safe saying he's a male for now. However, he's only fifteen and has plenty of time to decide what he's most comfortable with and it could be liable to change in the future.

SEXUALITY | Though he's never felt a particular attraction to anyone, more concerned with books and video games, Alexei would be lying if he said he cared about a preference. He likes who he likes, regardless of what they identify as. He has yet to come out and say it, because it's never been an issue, but he knows that he will tell everyone eventually about his sexual and romantic preferences.

- Dewmyan Kostin; father, 47, global communications travel specialist.
        - Alexei's especially close with his father, who he's looked up to since he was very young and holds on a pedestal, idolizing him as if he were a superhero. He'd do anything his father asked, and disappointing him is his biggest fear. He takes his dad's opinions and thoughts into consideration on everything he does.

- Chwe Heeyeon / Heeyeon Kostin; mother, 45, travel team teller.
        - Though he may be a father's boy, Alexei cherishes his mother as well and is a bit more aggressive/protective when it comes to her. Her health is fragile, and she often falls sick, so he's a bit like a guard dog when it comes to her. Her family is always harsh towards her, seeming to look down on her for her choice of partner as well as raising her son outside of the country, so he doesn't take lightly any negative words thrown her way because he believes she raised him perfectly no matter what the rest of their family might say.

- Aaliyah Kostin / Chwe Hyejin; sister; 9.
        - Alexei isn't as close with his parents as he is with his sister, moreso because she's more connected to her Korean roots than he is. She favors their mother's side over her Russian roots, and often spends more time with their relatives than with their actual family. Both cannot seem to understand why the other likes that side of themselves and it's driven them apart a bit.

BACKGROUND |
    As wild as it may seem, Alexei could almost call three different places his home if he wanted to. His parents met in North Dakota, brought together due to their jobs at a recruiting international travel agency, and hit it off instantly. Though he was born there, the two quickly decided that jobs requiring travel weren't a good start to both their relationship and their child's life, and decided to take their jobs  to Sochi, Russia, where Alexei's dad was from. Though his mother's side was upset at the news, almost detaching themselves from the couple for months but grudgingly accepting the two's choice at the thought of a grandchild.
     Growing up in Russia was a weird experience for Alex; to start off with, there weren't that many half Asian, half white kids that could speak fluent Russian just hanging around to befriend, and he often felt a little outcasted due to this. For  the most part, he was a loner, more content to focus on his books and the friend or two he had, and he was content with that. He mostly spent his time outdoors, sledding and climbing trees and giant hills due to the beautiful landscape Russia provided. During his times off from school, he and his parents would often take trips to Korea to try and let him have access to his other side, but he felt even more out of place there. Despite growing up with a Korean mother, neither parent ever put much effort into him learning the language and it was conversational at best. He would often forget or misuse honorifics, and there was clearly an awkward atmosphere between his Korean grandparents, aunts and uncles whenever he visited.
     When his sister turned six and began asking more and more about her Korean heritage, both parents concurred that maybe it was best that the kids get closer to their Korean side considering they grew up in Russia, and moved back to Korea. Both parents, having jobs that required handling travel, were severely wanted in Korea, and the family settled into the capital easily.

WHY THEY MOVED TO KOREA | ^

LANGUAGES |
Russian, fluent - Growing up in Russia, he's most confident in this and usually only speaks to his parents in the language. Though the two adults both know a mixture of Russian, Korean, and English, all three agreed it was most comfortable and easier to converse in one language between themselves.

Korean, conversational but improving - moving to Korea was certainly a wake up call for Alexei, whose Korean was much weaker than he had previously thought. He's often found practicing reading and writing Hangul on his own.

English, barely conversational - with parents both specializing in travel, it's only natural for them to teach him a useful thing or two and he often busts out English phrases he's confident in to show off even if it's actually cringeworthy.


»RUN«

FAVORITE CLASS AND WHY | Science has always been Alexei's favorite from when he was young - learning about anything from animals, to the Earth's atmosphere and even chemical reactions never seize to impress him.

ELECTIVES |
- health class (even though he's constantly red in the class every time an "adult topic" is brought up)
- library aid (idk if you'll accept this but basically it's a "class" where you go and help the librarian sort books, check people's books out, etc for that class period)
- P.E, because even though he's weak and clumsy the school likes to have a good laugh at him against his will.

WHAT DO THEY WANT TO BE WHEN THEY GROW UP AND WHY | Alexei would probably do something science related, whether it have to do with chemical analysis or a science teacher. He isn't quite sure yet but he knows what field he's interested in.

WHAT UNIVERSITY WOULD THEY LIKE TO GO TO? | As he's undecided, he hasn't looked too far into a specific school yet, but the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the States has a pretty good range of science related fields no matter what profession he chooses.

EXTRACURRICULARS |

USUAL ATTIRE | Not a fan of super bright colors, Alexei usually keeps to either neutrals or soft hues. His jeans (the only type of pants he wears tbh) are always skinny because he hates the idea of baggy pants, yet his shirts are almost always oversized and too big for him. He's not a fan of t-shirts, either, sticking with lots of hoodies, sweaters, and long-sleeved anything. His shoes are the only thing that really ever change: sneakers, boots, slip on, he pretty much is okay with anything.
