  1. "The greatest strength of the totalitarian state is that it forces those who fear it to imitate it."
  2.
  3. The history of the new Europe is written with blood, half-truths and bitterness. The banner of Das Große Reich now waving over every street of nearly every former nation across the West. It began April 30th, 1945. With the Fuhrer dead and majority of the chairmen either captured or ending their lives the Third Reich was fractured and disorganized. However, the message and resolve he sent to his remaining soldiers bared true in their hearts. Rather than choose surrendering the Fatherland to the United States and the USSR, the remaining militant arm of the Wehrmacht, with the assistants of the Shock Troopers formed the insurgency "The Knights of Berlin" who continued to commit brutal acts of Guerrilla warfare and covert campaigns against the two super powers. The top scientists, who were originally offered asylum by the United States for their cooperation or risked capture by the Soviets were being selectively extracted. Focusing all research on developing new weapons and technology that could make one soldier stronger than an entire platoon. The majority of the equipment falling into the hands of the remaining agents of the SS.

  5. After years of joint operations becoming a setback after setback for the U.S. Military and Red Army, their relations began to steadily crumble. Skirmishes breaking out between the United States and Soviet Union's Borders. Diplomacy was becoming more and more of a fevered dream after an incident in US/Russian occupied Japan ended with a two day firefight with numerous soldiers and nearly a hundred Japanese civilians dead. Tensions boiled over and the United States officially declared war on the USSR in hopes to destroy the now prioritized Communist threat. Focusing all efforts now on destroying their influence in European and Japanese occupied territory, they pulled out more and more troops from Germany entrusting their trained police force to maintain order in the country. Meanwhile, the Reich was slowly rebuilding its strength from right under their noses with an aggressive bombing and propaganda campaign to rekindle the fire of hatred and regret within the German citizens. September 1st, 1948, the Knights of Berlin under the command of Oberstleutnant Hans Krieger, successfully retake Berlin and the Reichstag before making several surprise attacks all over the Western Germany in an effort to regain power and rally the people under their new leader. Most of the police force surrendering with lack of firepower or out of fear.

  7. The formation of a new government tipped the scale back in Krieger's favor after several covert agents under his new militant arm were able to recapture the plans for Project Manhattan and quickly worked on the development of their own Atom Bomb to cement their place back in the world. Meanwhile the Knights of Berlin were breaking into old armories to lead a siege to reunify Eastern and Western Germany from Soviet control. Wanting to prevent his own nation from priority, newly declared Chancellor Hans Krieger authorized campaigns to stir insurrections across Western Europe and East Asia to shift opinion of both US and Soviet occupiers and to continue to focus the two powerhouses into combating one another. The Wehrmacht reluctantly agrees to cease all hostilities against the new regime, integrating its forces with Knights of Berlin and places former Commanders of the SS into authority and creates a new academy to begin formal training for new operatives of the Schutzstaffel. As years passed on and the fighting became bloodier, more and more German backed cells sprouted and more governments toppled; allowing Chancellor Krieger to swallow more land and grow in support.

  9. By 1955, after a series of border skirmishes with a now crippled USSR and enduring numerous air raids from the United States the Greater Empire had developed stockpile of atomic weapons named Stahl des Vaterlandes. Chancellor Krieger made the announcement internationally of its completion, with the promise to the Reich's citizens and threat to the rest of the world that if the United States did not cease its aggression towards The Fatherland that they would use the full extent of their weaponry to destroy them. Holding the entire world hostage, many of the nation states that refused to accept his diplomats or who repelled their insurgencies reluctantly laid down their arms and accepted vassalage under the Chancellor. The Greater Empire now born. Hans Krieger's right as Fuhrer and his senate now unchallenged, he turned his sights to Russia once more with promise to the German people that the weakened Bolsheviks would pay for their crimes. The initial invasion went very well for the Werhmacht and the SS. Half of the former Motherland swiftly falling to them by the early 1960's and the United States withdrawing from the war with a reluctant peace treaty. German influence and support began to resurface in Japan as Hans played to many Japanese citizen's anger from the U.S. and Soviets conflict that lead to many of their family's deaths. While the Japanese people still withhold the demographic majority and the hearsay in politics of Japan, they were forced to denounce their former Emperor as illegitimate and become a commonwealth for The Greater Reich in exchange for protection and economic support against the Chinese Republic.

  11. By the 1970s, trouble reared its head as the Wehrmacht met its point once again in the Soviet Capital. Though the deaths and capture of many of the USSR's official party leaders were confirmed, history had repeated itself as the Russian people refused to simply lay down and give in. The USSR fractured, breaking off into hundred of provisional companies operating among themselves but with the shared goal of hindering German progress within the country. Moscow had become a tug of war between the Wehrmacht and Russian Guerrillas, constantly gaining and losing control due to the Russian people's familiarity to the lands and changes in tactics which lead them to stealing equipment and weaponry from the Germans to use against them. The Germans noticed the Guerrillas slowly making some gains and the risk of being pushed out of Russia once again. In haste, the Moscow Line had been formed stretching from St. Petersburg to Volgograd to establish the "liberated" territory controlled under Germany and the "Outlands".
  12.
  13. Twenty years later, with the economy and population of The Greater Empire now under control, Hans Krieger steps down as Fuhrer and his eldest daughter, nicknamed "Die Mutter des Vaterlandes" (The Mother of the Fatherland.) takes place as the new Fuhrer. Life under Helga Krieger was prosperous, but rough; at least according to the press. Very quick to anger and quicker to react to enemies on foreign soil or those she deemed dissidents of the Fatherland earned notoriety, fear and respect of all who met her. In December of 1992, Helga Krieger declares war on the Outlands once again. A decision that shocked many in as many citizens still felt the effects of the last two wars. Unlike the last war, the Wehrmacht was not prepared for the much more organized rebels that were awaiting them to cross the Moscow Line. Helga suppressing all media coverage and having death tolls misconstrued to prevent anti-war rhetoric from spreading to the public. The full brunt of the military unable to be focused on Russia due to the surfacing nationalist rebellions surfacing within states once taken by her Father. The third invasion of Russia was looking disastrous, many of the reports of the rebels still using weapons from the old war not as accurate as believed and the threat of coup underway if she refused to end the war.
  14.
  15. She refused defeat, she'd refused to look weak to the international committee. Helga instead approved and spear headed a new project; meant to build a the "Superior Race" of men and women that their culture was founded upon. They'd born from test tubes and pods meant to serve as artificial wombs; designed to "fix" the genetic makeup of the developing fetuses and give them physical traits deemed desirable to Helga. The project was named the Ubersoldat Experiment and unofficially the Gene Trooper Program. The noticeable trait of all men and women born from the artificial wombs were their unnaturally bright blue colored eyes and in rarer circumstances, silver hair. All children in the Ubersoldat Experiment by adolescence ranged from heights of 5'10 to 6'2". Despite being prided as the "Model picture of the perfect Germanic people." by Helga and her Senate, most did not live to the age of 30 due to serving as the bulk of the new Greater Empire's Militant Arm and being sent out for foreign conflicts or to suppress insurgencies in Russian claimed territory.
  16.
  17. When the project was complete and the first Ubersoldaten Army was organized, it came with outrage from the Schutzstaffel. Which took control of the campaign in Russia as a Special Operations committee. Along with arguments that people born out of nature could not be superior, or even human. The clashes between the two branches leading to new orders and laws separating Gene Troopers from other branches of the German military and barring them from citizenship, they were now nothing more than property of the nation. From then on all Gene Troopers after birth were to undergo heavy indoctrination to prevent public discussion of citizenship, though no plan is perfect. All Gene Troopers, the ones who survived that is, were promised in exchange for their loyalty and devotion to the Reich that once they successfully drove out every last Bolshevik from the Outlands that they would be granted citizenship in the newly conquered territory and their service within the military would be complete. For those who didn't care for the speeches of duty, honor and loyalty; the promise of independence was enough.
  18.
  19. Unrest continues to stir with the first detachment of Ubersoldaten, being such a major success caused concern among the international community, and word of a new generation of soldiers already in the works. Some within The Greater Reich that were brave enough to voice their concern for the production and treatment of these soldiers, with many ethical issues coming to question were suddenly silenced. No Ubersoldat is given a name of their own, nor a soldier's funeral. It didn't matter, they were created with the purpose to serve the Greater Reich. Their own rights and treatment was secondary, not that anyone would miss them anyway. Currently their is talks of disputes once again between the Gene Troopers and the SS. With secret projects of their own coming underway, and unconfirmed reports of Chinese Agents entering the Outlands to purchase and smuggle bodies of unclaimed Gene Troopers with assistance from the Russians. Their intent, if confirmed, is yet to be discovered as the Chinese Republic has yet to make a statement on these accusations.
