- Free practice tests from unofficial sources are a crapshoot.
- = It’s gambling. Some are very good, but others are bad (wrong answers, bad explanations, etc.)
- “The free English classes can be a crapshoot, because you never know about the quality of the person who will be teaching you.”

- y2k = the year 2000, especially when we’re talking about possible computer problems
- y2k bug = Many computers only had 2 digits for the date, so they were “97”, “98”, “99”, “00”.
- Programs that suddenly went to the year 00 were expected to have many serious problems.
- The machine turned on at 12:30am on 12/30/99.
- Now it is 12:30am on 01/01/00.
- How long has it been running?
- real answer = 48 hours = 2 days
- automatic subtraction answer = 00-99 = -100 years -> most computers would crash
- Most of these problems were fixed, but there were some strange examples, like email sent in the year 19100.
