Sol — Today at 9:42 PM
The adventurers are roused by a series of firm knocks on their room doors, accompanied by calls, from the proprietor Alan, that they either vacate their rooms or pay for another night. His tone implies he'd rather you vacate. Likely afraid for what remains of his establishment.
Kovgan Mox — Today at 9:45 PM
Kovgan yawns and stretches before leaping out of the bed and donning his equipment. He then heads out into the main room stepping over the Orc on the floor.
Heat Stones — Today at 9:46 PM
Guntz summons their Crow Familiar after an hour of chanting and preparation.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 9:47 PM
The half-oni rises with no complaint and starts off the morning by re-equipping his armor and weapons. He rouses the conscript on his floor to rise and join him with the others outside. He then opens the door and exits the room to meet up with the rest.

"Time to go, Hawkeyes."

"Caw."
"A new day."

Tharivol packs his belongings, and exits the room.

Weary-eyed staff move about the ruined dining hall, clearing debris, prying up damaged flooring and piling ruined furniture into a pile.
"Just the one night then?"
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 9:51 PM
"Good work last night, everyone. Are you alright, mercenary? You received plenty of punishment."
"Just the one," Tharivol nods to the side.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 9:52 PM
"I am fine...I worry more for the establishment." He then looks to the proprietor. "My apologies...Alan. At least Baldur's Gate is rid...of that corsair."
Sol — Today at 9:53 PM
A flash of relief crosses the old Tavernkeep's face. "Right then." The man stares for a moment longer before thumping down the stairs.
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 9:55 PM
"The vermin we disposed of do not account for a ship's full complement. We should follow up and ensure they will not return to seek revenge at an inopportune moment."
Kovgan Mox — Today at 9:55 PM
"I support that motion, I want to ensure they can't cause any more trouble here or further north."
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 9:58 PM
The standard bearer pauses as he thinks, adjusting the straps of his new banded mail while doing so. "It would be a good idea...for the security of the city if we...made sure the rest of the crew would not be a future...problem." He nods his agreement.

"I want a pirate hat."

"Ambitious as ever."
"Any objections?" Tharivol asks, looking around.
"Doctor?"

Grundz sighs and says "No objections. But we should restock on supplies."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 10:01 PM
Tharivol nods. "Let's unburden ourselves of unneeded items, and find ourselves that infamous snake."
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 10:11 PM
"I know a regular vendor...for such things. Hulthar's Hearth is it's name. Shall I guide us there?"

"Lead the way."

Kiryuu nods to Klank and Skoona as he opens the door to exit the tavern, expecting the group to be following them. A light fog hangs in the air as the sun has not yet cleared the horizon, giving the air a damp chill. The mercenary sucks in a long breath, 'fresh' as it is. "This way." He then turns on the street and heads towards the Hulthar's Hearth.

Tharivol does not inhale, preferring to avoid the city's scents.

Kovgan makes a magical flourish in the air around him, and then inhales.

The conscripts wind their way through the lower city, dodging unwashed bodies and puddles of discolored liquid. More than once they are almost run down by a cart rumbling down the worn stones with no heed of passerby. Finally they arrive outside of a building resembling more a barn or repurposed warehouse rather than a proper storefront.
The creaking sign certainly says 'Blacksmith' with some runic characters beneath it. Various, crude weapons hang from the sign on sturdy chains, as if in demonstration of the sort of wares the proprietor has on offer. A sharp metallic odor wafts from the cracked door and the faint sound of metal on metal rings from inside.
A blast of heat hits you as you enter. A youngish half-orc woman in leather apron and gloves is working on a sword as an older woman dressed similarly appears to be watching and offering somewhat irritating suggestions, if the expression of the younger woman is any clue. The older woman's hair is white, shaved on both sides and neatly braided. The younger's is shaved on one side and dyed dark green and orange. Both women have burns and ritual scars covering almost every inch of their exposed arms.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 10:28 PM
"Good morning...Hulthar." He greets the older woman, not getting too close to the anvil her daughter is currently operating.
"How's....business?"
Sol — Today at 10:32 PM
The older woman's expression quickly changes from stern to pleasant at the sight of the mercenary. "Ah there you are Kiryuu, I beginning to wonder whether or not you were going to show up this week. I know how often you wear out that great blade of yours. So the usual upkeep...then?" Her gaze drifted as she spoke, taking stock of the individuals that entered the shop alongside the mercenary.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 10:34 PM
"Perhaps later. We killed some....corsairs, including their Captain, my new companions needed someone to sell our spoils." He smiles to her. "And you were my....first choice."

"Indeed you are highly recommended," Tharivol adds, with a smile.

Kovgan nods in greeting before getting distracted by a finely crafted blade.

[Orcish] "Hello, my sisters."

"They don't look the mercenary type..but alright." Her eyes dart from the half-oni to the noble. "Standard rates for all arms and armour, I don't buy odds, ends or bobbins you'll have to find someone else for that sort n feel free to buy something while you're here."  She gestures to the side wall where most weapons hang on display including some gorgeous and extremely dangerous looking ones.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 10:39 PM
"Captain's been doing some...last minute recruitment. If you...take the meaning." He pauses not sure if said that right, then shrugs.
Sol — Today at 10:39 PM
She glances to the witch and barks a harsh guttural phrase. [Orcish] "Business first then we can chat if you wish."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 10:41 PM
"One rapier, a greataxe, a single arming sword, and a bar mace. Additionally, we have two sets of leather armor and one wooden shield."
Heat Stones — Today at 10:42 PM
She grunts and says [Orcish] "Understandable."
Sol — Today at 10:48 PM
The woman nods at the listed items and moves to one side of the workshop and quickly clears a space on a long workbench and laying down a tarp. "Lay out what ya have and I'll look it over." She pats the covered surface she has made available.
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 10:49 PM
Tharivol nods over for the items to be placed for assessment.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 10:49 PM
Kiryuu sets the Greataxe down onto the tarp.
Kovgan Mox — Today at 10:49 PM
Places the spare Rapier on the table.
Fogerty Creedence — Today at 10:50 PM
Fogerty places the rest of the equipment on the tarp neatly.
Sol — Today at 10:52 PM
Once the items are assembled the half-orc woman begins her examinations of each piece, muttering to herself as she goes. "Blood-stained...slight chipping....broken handleguard..."
"Right then, I'll give you forty-five gold pieces for the lot of it."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 10:55 PM
"Work with us, and I'll be certain to emulate our mercenary friend in making this establishment my own go-to. Let's say, 60 gold pieces."
Sol — Today at 10:59 PM
The woman scratches her chin thoughtfully before replying. "Fifty four pieces. Best I can do given the condition."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 11:01 PM
"A fair compromise," Tharivol nods. "Tell me, do you work with firearms?"
Sol — Today at 11:03 PM
The woman's brow raises at the question. "I'm afraid not lord, in fact I doubt anyone in our fair city does. Likely have to go south or north some to find that kind of work."
"Well, anything catch your eyes while you're here? I can always deduct the value of the gear from your purchase."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 11:05 PM
"No matter. A skilled craftswoman in the conventional arms is a valued contact," he says with an approving nod. "Allow my companions and I a moment to look at your arms."
Sol — Today at 11:09 PM
"Of course, take your time."
Kovgan Mox — Today at 11:09 PM
Kovgan, still perusing, pulls his snout over the top of a table edge to see whats on it and sees a very shiny Rapier looking back at him.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 11:10 PM
"Oh I already know what I....want. I just can't afford it yet." He looks over at a wicked looking greatsword. Given the way he looks at it, it's not the first time Kiryuu has ogled it.
Kovgan Mox — Today at 11:10 PM
"I'm going to keep this one in the back of my mind...."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 11:15 PM
"Like as not we will soon be back. With more for Hulthar to evaluate. Perhaps that weapon will be within reach, mercenary."
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 11:16 PM
Kiryuu is still staring at it, holding his chin with a hand the other arm folded under. He then turns to the noble, "hmm? Oh...perhaps yes."
Sol — Today at 11:17 PM
The woman nods at the implications and moves out of sight into a partitioned section of the building and returns with a small stack of gold coins and places them down onto the table top near where the gear is layed out.
Once the coins are collected the half-orc smith rolls the tarp up with the gear inside and hefts it with a single muscled arm. Once table she carries the bundled items into a different partition.

"That concludes our business. Thank you, Hulthar."

"Of course, just remember to come back and buy something next time." She placves her hands on hips and laughs loudly at her own joke.

Kovgan pulls himself away from the table with the shiny rapier.

"Until next time, Hulthar." He waves his goodbye. "Let's see if we can...wrangle a ship." He says to the group as they exit the business.

The conscripts swiftly find themselves back out in the damp, a definite contrast from the incredibly warm smithy.

"What brought you all here?" Kiryuu asks the others as they continue towards the docks for the corsair vessel. "To Baldur's Gate...I mean."
Kovgan Mox — Today at 11:37 PM
"Official business," Kovgan says, briefly flashing the Lords Alliance emblem he was wearing when they first met.

"Representing the interests of House Amberwood. I am to meet with a consortium of merchants in the coming days."

"Caw."
"To explore the world."

"Tagged along some time ago," Tharivol adds, nodding to the birdman.

"Me? Training as a Doctor in the Outer Cities and now I am here."

The blue half-oni nods. "Interesting bunch. Unfortunate...timing then."

As the group makes idle conversation they follow the blue skinned mercenary through the cramped, winding streets of the lower city they finally find themselves on a street corner looking towards a set of bustling docks and the fog-filled bay.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Yesterday at 11:50 PM
As Kiryuu approaches the docks he looks over the crowds, squinting before finding the harbor master's office. A good thing he was familiar with this southern area.
"We'll check with the harbor....master of these docks."
Kovgan Mox — Yesterday at 11:56 PM
Kovgan is simply busy trying to keep his bearings in the city, unfamiliar with the majority of it.
Sol — Yesterday at 11:58 PM
A sturdy, two story, wooden building sits on a corner, a wooden sign on an iron rod hangs above the door and bears the symbol of the Baldur's Gate Merchant Association, an anchor and scales separated by a crossways line.
Sol — Today at 12:01 AM
As you approach the office a man in a slicked back ponytail steps out from the door and quickly moves away from the building, heading in the groups general direction.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 12:04 AM
Kiryuu rests his hand on the pommel of his Dao as the man approaches. "That'll be far...enough, Naz."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 12:05 AM
Tharivol retrieves his hand cannon, and stops in his tracks.
Fogerty Creedence — Today at 12:05 AM
Fogerty shifts to an attack stance.
Sol — Today at 12:06 AM
As soon as the mercenary shifts his posture the mans bolts to the side and begins running down the street, dodging and zipping through the passerby.

Fogerty starts flying following the man.

Tharivol fires, striking the pirate on the shoulder.
"Take him!"
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 12:10 AM
"Stop! By order of Captain Zodge. Halt!" Kiryuu yells at the fleeing First-Mate as he begins to give chase.
Fogerty Creedence — Today at 12:11 AM
Fogerty flies towards the shot target and tries to trip him, but instead trips other civilians.
Kovgan Mox — Today at 12:11 AM
Kovgan chases, using his small stature to dart through the crowd, jumping over the the bodies of people both the first mate and Fogerty have knocked over.
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 12:12 AM
Tharivol gives chase while swapping over to his second hand cannon.
Sol — Today at 12:13 AM
A few pops and flashes appear in the crowd ahead of the pursuers and smoke begins to rapidly fill the area. The crowd beings to panic and surge against the adventurers, stampeding in the opposite direction and away from the sounds.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 12:22 AM
"Clear the way!" Kiryuu shouts as he catches up to Zan, pulling his Dao free of it's sheathe.
Sol — Today at 12:25 AM
Thanks to the smoke that is filling the area and the press of the crowd the group loses sight of the escaping first mate.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 12:27 AM
"What the-," He looks back to his companions. "he's used magic...to disappear!"
Kovgan Mox — Today at 12:28 AM
"Well damn, few things it coulda been...."
"Can't see him nearby so I don't think he blinked....."
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 12:36 AM
"This way! Towards the docks!" Tharivol cries out, signaling  and moving as best he can through the crowd.
"Follow the blood!"
Fogerty Creedence — Today at 12:42 AM
Fogerty spots the blood trail and follows along, while screaming "Target sighted."
Fogerty proceeds to, make a continuous eagle screech following the trail.

Gundz runs trying to keep up with Fogerty.
Kiryuu Yamashiro — Today at 12:53 AM
The half-oni clears the crowd, and looks up to see Fogerty flying in the general direction of the docks to the south-west. Looking over the various ships he finally spots the Corsair's ship. He raises a hand and points, "that's the vessel...we seek!"
Kovgan Mox — Today at 1:06 AM
Kovgan having followed onto the docks, is waiting for his companions before starting his assault.
Tharivol Amberwood — Today at 1:07 AM
Tharivol near enough catches up to Kogvan, and levels his Arquebus at the pirate vessel. With a loud report, the firearm spits out a led ball that rips open the top of a corsair's skull.
Fogerty Creedence — Today at 1:09 AM
Fogerty closes in attacks a sailor with a dive.
Heat Stones — Today at 1:11 AM
Gundz dashes to try and keep up with the group. She commands her crow "Corvus" to fly ahead and give Fogerty some of his energy.
