  1. The flora rustled violently, gale-force winds shaking the foundations of Cinderfall's structures like reeds in the wind. A primal power had awoken after a twenty-five year slumber, the sun was blotted out, titanic wings allowing a grandeose beast akin to legends once more descend upon the settlement.
  2.
  3. A roaring gust buffets the denizens of Cinderfall relentlessly as glowing red eyes of magma peer through the clearing dust upon an earth-shaking landing. Gutteral, rolling grumbles carry into the ears of the entire faction, reverberating against window and fading into the clearing skies.
  4.
  5. Something had returned, something that had been upon Eternia long before even the more ancient civilizations of Valmasia were founded..
  6.
  7. A Dragon.
  8.
  9. Smoke billows from his nostrils as Mungronaar waits for the leader of these ants to once more make themselves known to him. His eyes leering passively. Forever weary of the devices of men.
  10. (Mungronaar)
  11.
  12. Brenton was standing around as usual. The sun was suddenly blotted out, guttural noises heard. He looks up as the great beast descends. Watching as several people get scared and flee, a few others marveling at the creature of legend. Brenton himself showed no marvel or fear, he had seen dragon's before. Had called one family in his youth, though I had been years since he had seen or heard of Var'Thrull.
  13.
  14. As the dragon lands the red-haired male would simply keep an eye on it. There was no point in trying to talk to the creature, and none of the Champions were around. What could you really do? It didn't seem like it was going to attack, for now at least. Which was good because the only other person here right now was Vivica. And Brenton was in no mood to defend the city against a freaking dragon.
  15.
  16. So he would simply just stare it down, mixed hues looking over the beast with his determined knightly glare. He wondered if maybe he should say something, but he does not. He simply stands there, letting the beast know that it is being watched, and that it would be foolish to make any type of false move.
  17.
  18. (Brenton Blackmane-Shateiel)
  19. Well today was really a relaxing day, nothing could possibly go wrong... BUT THIS IS ETERNIA SO FUCK THAT LOGIC. SUDDENLY A DRAGON DECENDS FROM THE SKIES AND A LARGE GUST OF WIND HITS EVERYTHING. Everything except for around Raa'za. "Well fuck you too!!!" he'd say snapping his fingers, using his wind magic to counter a wide area of the gust, a VERY large area actually. managing to control the winds of even the other side stopping the strong gust completely.
  20.
  21. "Now... What's a dragon doing here? You do realize doing anything aggressive is suicide right?" he said tiling his head and glancing at everyone here who was about as strong as him. Size didn't matter, only strength did. He wouldn't be intimidated either, he's seen Sitra before afterall...
  22. (Raa'za Mikoto)
  23. The dragons were old, perhaps. Not this one. In comparison, it was quite young. But it was enough to attract something that actually was old. And to many, something quite dangerous. Lucius Volusenna, any more, rarely pulled himself out of his forge to deal with the troubles and squabbling of the living, his interactions with the Valmasians having fallen to a low in favor of the spirits of the spirit realm, and the Taldaran's within his camp. But today, something threatened that camp, something big. And thus, Lucius found himself pulled back into the fray...
  24.
  25. But for those that knew him, only those that had actually seen him within the last thirty years would actually be aware of his new form. To anyone else, it would appear to be another monster, though this one distinctly lacking the depravity his form would seem to come with.
  26.
  27. No, what came from the forge was not the image of a man. But the image of a beast. One, incomprehensible. Tentacles, eyes, other various appendages all blended into a vast wall that seemed to take up the entire view of all who looked directly at him, his form impossible and eldritch in nature. It was that sort of monster that would stand in the dragons way.
  28.
  29. And with his appearance, there would be a large wave of heat. One to match the dragons own as the eldritch spirits magma would boil beneath the soil of Cinderfall once more. The heat returning to Cinderfall as he prepared himself to defend the city against a seeming threat.
  30.
  31. "Dragon. Supposing you can understand me, then either submit or leave. Any attempts to harm this city, or it's inhabitants, will be met with equally deadly force. Make your choice now."
  32.
  33. The voice, under the effects of the eldritch appearance, was loud and booming. Seeming to echo not simply into the mind, but the ears of those around. Raa'za, Vivica, Brenton. And especially the dragon.
  34. (Lucius Volusenna)
  35. Her meditating session fell short; something was bugging the woman greatly. The lack of communication between her and her parents. It was work, eat, sleep, study, care for her little brother while doing chores, then head to bed and repeat. There was little time to converse with her family.
  36.
  37. Therefore, after some time trying to clear her head of the troubles, Vivica eventually came to rise, seeing as Brenton was around, but she figured not to disturb him. The young woman formed a cloud for herself to float upon and head back towards the city in silence.
  38.
  39. Though in travel does she spot something completely unusual within Cinderfall's grounds. A large dragon that appeared to be twice the size of Zain when the pureblood was in fullshift. "Holy shit.." She spoke to herself under her breath.
  40.
  41. The young woman looked down towards it. Var'thuul had come to mind. Did he grow up? Was this the very same dragon? No- it couldn't be. Their scales were of a different hue whereas this drake's scales were a reddened orange color.
  42.
  43. Gusts of wind whistled throughout the air as she descends towards the dragon's face, but far enough that it couldn't simply nip at her. Vivica's approach was calm and curious. "Var'thuul?" She questioned it before giving glance down at the mix of citizens below. Some stared in awe, many ran in fear, even some stupid enough to shout towards it.
  44. (Vivica Loirdne)
  45. Wise eyes clearly purposefully avoided all who approached, to Mungronaar they were all akin to an ant. His prideful disposition as a Dragon one of his follies. It was true that in his kins years, he was just now entering adulthood, though already weighing several tonnes and brandishing the strength to remove a city with a swipe of his tail.
  46.
  47. But this being had no interest in slaughtering countless ants for no reason. Poetically, they scrambled out of their hovels to defend their home from the stirring force, like ants when their hill is stepped upon.. it is all perspective.
  48.
  49. Nothing violent at all exuded from the Dragon's behavior, though the sidewalks and much of the underfoot cityscape was consequently destroyed, how could you fault a being for something they could not prevent, nor care to.
  50.
  51. What is a well or sidewalk to a civilization of magi?
  52.
  53. Mungronaar seemed to almost chuckle, faintly hearing their demands and ultimatums yet paying no heed, it's massive features turning to the lodestone not too far from him. And then he lurched, movement beginning, each massive step capable of leveling a home on it's own.
  54.
  55. As it neared it, the heat intensified, perhaps it had been drawn by the artifact upon awakening? Like a.. giant scaled moth to a flame.
  56. (Mungronaar)
  57. Just like with the dragon Lucius's appearance did not seem to frighten Brenton. Not that it was meant for him, but any normal person would surely feel some bit of fear. Not Brenton, anyone who knew him knew that he rarely displayed fear to anything. Even when he was very young. The dragon seems to ignore Lucius, and though the dragon does not seem ready to attack the ground beneath his feet was broken, not beyond repair but it would be hell on Brenton later as Cinderfalls only worthy earth magi who bothered.
  58.
  59. Sighing a hand would rest above his shoulder, ready to draw his blade if need be. Though he does not show signs of wanting violence or to attack. His stance purely defensive. After all this was his home, the sheer size of the dragon was not enough to make him scared. Nothing was.
  60.
  61. "No, that is not Var Vivica"
  62.
  63. He speaks with conviction. He shows no signs of magic, but as he stands there he would begin to allow mana to connect to the earth beneath his feet. Feeling a connection with the ground, allowing stalwart and determined nature to grasp him. And even though it was buried deep in Eden Brenton sought one thing.
  64.
  65. He could feel it there under them all, the Earth lodestone. Still making no move Brenton would connect to it, pulling its power upward feeling it accept him and share its strength with him. This would be nice for if they did end up fighting. He could use the boost to summon earthen walls to protect the buildings if need be.
  66.
  67. You heard him Dragon, leave"
  68.
  69. Is voice ever calm.
  70. (Brenton Blackmane-Shateiel)
  71. Raa'za squinted, it seemed to not even care for what they said... "Alright I've had enough of this..." He'd say. Placing a hand on the water loadstone, suddenly out of the well, and even from the coast, water erupted, going up and towards the loadstone it was targetting, surrounding it with a tornado of water. "Lucius, you're the champion here, course of action?" He asked, not looking to the spirit, they were already disturbing enough standing next to the Sarridian...
  72.
  73. Honestly, Lucius was pretty terrifying. He was glad that he was on their side at the least...He'd squint his eyes at the beast, their magic was inferior to the Sarridian's... On top of that he was using a loadstone, no matter what Mungronaar did to the tornado of water surrounding the fire loadstone, they would never be able to break it...
  74. (Raa'za Mikoto)
  75. From above, she paid no attention to the appearance of others nor did the dragon seem to pay any attention to the likes of the many approaching to pursue it and stop it from damaging the city.
  76.
  77. This wasn't the dragon she knew it to be from a young age. This was a completely different beast, one she hadn't seen in her life. Vivica watched Raa'za's actions of summoning a typhoon of water to surround the lodestone and ward off the dragon, but if that wasn't enough?
  78.
  79. The young woman began to draw out her power to summon a storm. Overhead, clouds came rolling in and winds surrounded her very being. Rain began to fall from the sky and without hesitation, she stood from her cloud.
  80.
  81. Quick reactions!
  82.
  83. The woman was calm! Her eyes closed, the door appeared, and her hand reached for the knob to open and reach in. Pulling it out and opening her eyes, within her hand was the very little, disobedient elemental she had summoned multiple times now.
  84.
  85. "If we fight, maybe you can help me, Niall." She spoke to it in a soothing tone before fixing her eyes back on the dragon, awaiting orders from Lucius.
  86. (Vivica Loirdne)
  87. Ciel Loirdne: Oh wow. Cool. A dragon.
  88. Ciel Loirdne: Shit...gotta run.
  89. So it wanted the fire lodestone then. It made sense, but no matter how much sense it made that wasn't something that could be allowed. But at the same time, Raa'za, Vivica, even Brenton all seemed prepared to fight the dragon here and now. And in this case, there were two very good reasons not to do so.
  90.
  91. "Hold! Do not engage the dragon, if a fight breaks out in the city with something this huge then damages would be immense."
  92.
  93. Considering a fight wasn't necessary, Lucius would move to place himself between the dragon and the lodestone. Dragons were greedy, he knew as much. But the ones they had seen so far, they were not unreasonable. A deal could be struck, perhaps. But considering the potential for damage, Lucius knew that a fight should have been the last option.
  94.
  95. "This lodestone is not yours to take. Perhaps if you stand down now we can find some other object for you. Otherwise we will be forced to take action."
  96. (Lucius Volusenna)
  97. Raa'za Mikoto: <*Takes his hand off the loadstone, the Typhoon simply stops*>
  98. Brenton Blackmane-Shateiel: <*Only ready to fight if the dragon attacked, as evidence by his stance*>
  99. The movements of the magi were of little concern to Mungronaar. The dragon's eyes growing angered as water ebbed about the shape of the lodestone. Though it's feature's softened relatively as the water faded.
  100.
  101. Ignoring Lucius yet again, along with the other confronters, the dragon simply lumbered next to the fiery artifact, it's own incandescence merging with the lodestone's. The heat was unlike anything any here had felt before, primal flame finding it's fuel once more.
  102.
  103. Smokey snorts as if in mocking disregard bellowed from the dragon's snout, and as it inevitably reached the lodestone it began to hunker down near it, almost protectively or perhaps out of sheer comfort?
  104.
  105. Riches began to poor from the beasts maw, held in a pocket of the dragon's expansive mouth now once more blanketing it's claimed territory. This fiery artifact a fine mantle-piece around which to establish a lair.
  106.
  107. A dragon had relocated it's horde into a city uncaring of the denizen's thoughts on the matter. But.. chances are, attacking the city meant attacking a dragon. And a powerful one at that.
  108.
  109. It was only now that the gutteral grumbling transitioned to something more of a low, annoyed grumble.
  110. (Mungronaar)
  111. The magi spoke as he looked at the dragon, and then to the magis surrounding it, back to Lucius. Ah, so that must be him.
  112.
  113. "Do you know anything about dragons, Eris?" He said and looked at the blonde.
  114.
  115. (Ciel Loirdne)
  116. Vivica didn't plan to engage the dragon unless ordered by Lucius. The young woman remained ascended in the skies with the elemental floating around her, observing, taking in the scene.
  117.
  118. Cracks of lightning could be heard from the little elemental's form as it swayed side to side, much like an orb of mana, but nothing more. It was its own cloud with lightning surging throughout and water dripping from the bottom of its being. Such a cute, and tiny little thing.
  119.
  120. Silver eyes continued to watch the scene below. Riches, jewels, and things of the like fell from the beast's mouth, as if it were striking a deal with Lucius, but from what she could see, it was relocating itself like she had seen Var'thuul once do in the past.
  121.
  122. Looking towards the little elemental, Vivica glanced back down towards the dragon with confusion and began to lower herself towards the ground, but not all the way. She had stopped the moment she was at eye level with the beast.
  123. (Vivica Loirdne)
  124. The dragon was….making a lair in their city? Right in the middle of it, using the fire lodestone has a base… OH Kraus no. Taking a large breath Brenton moves forward. He was not angry but he was clearly a little agitated. The words of Lucius would not be ignored, no fight would take place unless forced by the beast.
  125.
  126. Though as a precaution any lingers stupid enough to still be around would find themselves suddenly boxed in by walls of earth, all four sides covered. A large box if there was any group. Usually hard for alone magi, the power of the lodestone beneath their feet aided Brenton in this.
  127.
  128. Brenton glares at the great beast.
  129.
  130. "You will not make your home here, the lodestone belongs to this city. My aunt toiled her whole life to retrieve those, many other people helped, some even lost their very lives. I do not care what the ghost says, you have one last chance to leave, This city is not yours, and it is protected. Do the smart thing and leave, I hope you can even understand this, if not tis a sad day for you"
  131.
  132. He speaks calmly but firmly. His emotions under better control than they had ever been before.
  133.
  134. (Brenton Blackmane-Shateiel)
  135. Leaning against the church, his eyes fell to the dragon and the magi surrounding it. How odd, it wasn't every day that a dragon just appeared even though there were plenty of Drakanite within the city who could fullshift.
  136.
  137. "Well, I know Zain and Yorrick can turn into them. But other than that, nope. Never had the chance to learn anything about 'em."
  138. (Eris Erimos)
  139. "Mhm." He said and nodded his head.
  140.
  141. "They cannot be reasoned with. Dragons that is." The man said, returning his gaze back to the dragon.
  142.
  143. "But, look at that spirit. He knows what he's doing. It's a give and take relationship." He simply said.
  144. (Ciel Loirdne)
  145. "Shit... Okay, if this continues on we may have to take the dragon down for now! I'll go and evacuate as many as I can in case things go south! Even if he makes a fast movement I " He said looking around, there were a few Citizens who were just shocked and frozen in fear. Little children in corners crying out of fear... He'd take a deep breath and bolt around, picking up as many children as he could first bringing them up towards the keep. Then evacuating any other citizen towards to Keep, the strongest building in Cinderfall.
  146.
  147. He'd command soldiers to stand out front, Zain was going to attempt to communicate, but precautions needed to be taken... Dragons were never exactly obidient, the dragon could either respect Zain for their power, or not care at all. In fact there was a good chance the dragon could attack Zain purely for dominence, that's how some dragons were afterall... At this point he and some basic soldiers had rallied up a large number of citizens, almost everyone in the local area from where the dragon had landed...
  148.
  149. Now let's just hope everything went well...
  150. (Raa'za Mikoto)
  151. Eris imagined that trying to reason why a dragon would be difficult. Communication and views would be an issue but hell it's a dragon.
  152.
  153. "That guy's a spirit?" Eris squinted at the man speaking with the dragon and he did look ghostly. How interesting.
  154.
  155. "Hey Ciel, ever use dragon blood before?"
  156. (Eris Erimos)
  157. From what it seemed, Brenton and Lucius were handing the ordeal fine without her. Raa'za evacuated with citizens that Brenton failed to encase in earth, both men approached the dragon, therefore after spotting her father near the church with Eris, Vivica descended to the ground.
  158.
  159. Her feet planted in the earth. Winds swayed away the rain that fell, forming an umbrella like dome over her head to avoid getting soaked and as she approached Ciel with the elemental swaying around her head, the dome of winds increased to cover all three bodies.
  160.
  161. The young woman hadn't a word to say, but stood in casual attire, all dark, including the fur she wore, and awaited orders. It continued to rain.
  162. (Vivica Loirdne)
  163. "Acquiring a dragon blood itself is suicide. Dragons are being powerful enough to wreck havoc on a single settlement. However, thankfully, Cinderfall holds many capable magis. And perhaps even beings that can take on a dragon in a single combat." He explained in a whisper.
  164.
  165. "They still vary in strength though." A nod was then offered to Vivica, patting her head before looking back at Eris.
  166.
  167. "Dragon blood, what made you interested with it?" He whispered.
  168. (Ciel Loirdne)
  169. Vivica Loirdne: <*doesn't flinch or move at the patting of her head - has a stoic expression*>
  170. Dragons sure are a force to be reckoned with. Eris grinned a bit as Ciel explained the might of dragons and would only shake his head. "Nothing. I just remember reading about it in a book. I wonder how strong it is." He glanced back at the dragon.
  171.
  172. See, he did read.
  173.
  174. Vivica joined the two and he would only wave at the girl. She abruptly left him earlier but he wouldn't really question it. Not only was it not his business, he also didn't really care.
  175. (Eris Erimos)
  176. Vivica Loirdne: <*waves back to Eris*>
  177. Sirus Blackmane: E-Erm...
  178. Vivica Loirdne: <*waves to Sirus*>
  179. Sirus Blackmane whispers: What's going on?
  180. Vivica Loirdne whispers: The dragon appeared and is relocating in the city around the fire lodestone.
  181. Vivica Loirdne: <*she has a cute little elemental floating around her!*>
  182. Passes a lollipop to Vivica, to feed her.
  183.
  184. "I see, probably very strong." He said, and returned his gaze back to the dragon.
  185.
  186. "By the way, thanks for doing the chores, Vivica." He whispered and offered Sirus a nod, acknowledging the Fire Keeper's presence.
  187.
  188. "But yes, Eris. Don't fool around a dragon, or you'll end up their meal."
  189. (Ciel Loirdne)
  190. Vivica Loirdne: <*takes the lollipop and leans in to whisper back at Ciel*>
  191. Vivica Loirdne whispers: You're welcome, dad. I hope it's enough.
  192. Eris Erimos: I won't. I sort of like living now. <*Chuckles then glances at Vivica and Sirus*>
  193. Sirus Blackmane whispers: I see... Also is that what I think it is?
  194. The meeting was happening soon, and Zain was going to try and be there early. Leila wasn't feeling her best, so he decided it was best to go and represent her. Although, as he would be working his way towards it, he would notice the crowds going in all directions, and from the distance, he would see the dragon in the distance. His wings would grow quick, as he would fly over.
  195.
  196. As he would he would land proudly before the dragon, as he would look up. The people around would soon have eyes on Zain, as throughout Cinderfall, Zain's power was known. That of one to turn into a dragon as well. As he would see Lucius and Brenton close by, he would speak out. "Lucius.. Allow for me to speak to it. While I can't exactly communicate with you while I talk to him, i'll try to handle things.."
  197.
  198. He would soon begin to shift. His skin would grow scales, his skin would turn golden, and his fingernails would grow to claws. A snouth would for, as what would now be before the village was a golden fullshifter! Though, the dragon before Zain was twice his size after all... He would then speak, and no one could understand him, besdies the dragon. "What are you doing in this village? Peace is being disrupted.. Do you wish to make this your home?"
  199. (Zain Rainfold Azar)
  200. Sirus Blackmane whispers: An elemental?
  201. Vivica Loirdne: <*glances to Eris with a faint smile before turning back to Sirus*>
  202. Vivica Loirdne: <*smile widens and she nods*>
  203. Sirus Blackmane: <*Grins*>
  204. Vivica Loirdne whispers: Yes. This is a storm elemental. Very young. It needs a lot of training to grow. I was successful with linking to it.
  205. Zain Rainfold Azar: <Zain did just fullshift before everyone tho..>
  206. Sirus Blackmane whispers: Y'know... it's kinda cute.
  207. Eris sat there for a moment, a bit bored again but he'd keep glancing at the dragon. He's only ever seen Zain fullshift into one but never has he ever seen a real one in the flesh. His grin grew a bit thinking of its strength. What an interesting beast.
  208.
  209. Eris' view then fell downward. Sure, it was a cool thing to see but he wasn't apart of it and just a bystander. A crowd began to form and thicken around the dragon. Everyone was quite curious or frightened to see such a creature.
  210.
  211. But, someone would approach the dragon. Sounded like... Zain? Without wasting time another dragon appeared but this one golden. Eris wouldn't have a clue what was happening with the two now and would return to looking down.
  212.
  213. His hands rose and tendrils of purple water spiraled around his arms and to his hands, forming an orb of water. He seemed to like messing with water these days.
  214. (Eris Erimos)
  215. A smile towards Eris, her father, and back to Sirus before looking to the young elemental swaying around her head. It's appearance, translucent and cloud like, had lightning surging throughout it as drops of water dripped from the bottom of its being. Almost like a little storm cloud!
  216.
  217. Because that's basically what it was.
  218.
  219. Though for a moment, Zain had caught her attention. The man's skin and scales transformed into a golden hue, his body grew, claws emerged from his fingers, and there he stood moments later. A beautiful, golden beast before their eyes.
  220.
  221. The pureblood's scales glimmered in the rain with each drop that fell upon his body. Absolutely glorious. Rain from the sky came down in heavier droplets whilst lightning brightened the sky for seconds at a time.
  222.
  223. However, the young woman's attention was caught back on Sirus. She leaned in to whisper to him about the elemental. "Isn't it? It took me five attempts to summon it." Throughout the entire ordeal with the dragon and up until now, Vivica was calm. This helped to establish and strengthen the connection. Storms were a way for her to be calm. They were beautiful, each one different, so there she was before Sirus.
  224.
  225. (Rolled a 5 - elemental obeys) "Come to my hand." She spoke towards the little being. Slowly the elemental floated to rest above her hand. Lightning cracked around its very being. A smile creased her lips wider. "Perfect, Sirus. Our connection over time continues to strengthen. I've been doing plenty of meditation to increase the strength of my mentality as well. I've been much more calm lately." She nodded towards him and gave a smile.
  226.
  227. "Which means.. I am ready to begin the Champion's Challenge when all of you are ready as well. This will help me as well as train the elemental to gain power along with me."
  228. (Vivica Loirdne)
  229. Ciel Loirdne: <*feeds Vivica's elemental a candy*>
  230. Vivica Loirdne: <*it probably regets your candy or can't eat it*>
  231. Eris Erimos: <*Gets more bored and pulls out a dagger to poke at his hand*>
  232. Ciel Loirdne: Hmmh. Cute.
  233. Ciel Loirdne: <*takes out a dagger and cuts his wrist*>
  234. Batkem Loirdne: <*Yawns.*>
  235. Vivica Loirdne: Gah, don't do that, dad! Eris!
  236. Eris Erimos: <*Looks at Ciel's wrist and makes the blood float up*>
  237. The dragon stirred as it felt a pureblood attempt to speak to him. Fiery eyes locked onto the fullshifted drakanite.
  238.
  239. "This is my home."
  240.
  241. At that, the massive beast lowered its head and entered a rumbling slumber.
  242. (Mungronaar)
  243. Ciel Loirdne: <*wrist gets healed, and the tiny blob floats*>
  244. Batkem Loirdne: He's a blood magi, Vivi.
  245. Batkem Loirdne: It's what he does.
  246. Ciel Loirdne: I love you Batkem. You understand me.
  247. Vivica Loirdne: <*purses lips and looks away*>
  248. Batkem Loirdne: Of course, love.
  249. Eris Erimos: Oh, hi there, Batkem.
  250. Ciel Loirdne: And man, that dragon's gonna be hard to move. <*points at Mungronaar sleeping*>
  251. Eris Erimos: A sleeping dragon sure is a sight though. A real one at that.
  252. Vivica Loirdne: <*feels almost like a stranger to her parents, so she moves--*>
